Great lunch! The service at our table was friendly, but one lady was keeping an eye on the staff, but she gave them too many orders. It's a shame there's no need to be so bossy!

I waited for a while, but couldn't find any service. After about fifteen minutes, the waiter appeared. I thought, "Well, I'll be able to order something now," but no, he didn't take any orders. Another couple who had just come in were helped immediately. Perhaps a fluke, but it took too long for me. Pleasant atmosphere and location, but a bit cluttered and somewhat dated. The menu is unclear and confusing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was at Moeke's in Rhenen again tonight — what a cozy place! We had lunch there six months ago (it was already great then) and this evening we had a beer with a delicious snack platter. Great, atmospheric music and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for a delicious meal or just a nice drink! 🍻

Our lunch was not what we expected

The food and drinks are always delicious there! The atmosphere and the service are often warm and full of joy!

They have delicious non-alcoholic drinks. I had the Fuze Tea Mango. And for lunch, they had Oriental Chicken Fries. Friendly staff (despite the crowd) and nice presentation and prices. But why weren't the fries served separately? The chicken with satay sauce was on top of the fries, making them soggy. A shame.

Went for dinner with a group last week. It was a lovely place and the service was good and friendly. The food was delicious (I had the salmon). They also have a nice selection of non-alcoholic beers.

A very atmospheric restaurant in an ancient building steeped in history, right on the banks of the Rhine, right by the ferry crossing. Spacious yet cozy, the interior exudes the aroma of the kitchen from the moment you enter. All the dishes we ordered met our expectations; the chef's Italian selection did not disappoint, and paired with a local craft beer, they will remain a memorable experience. I'll be back if I have another opportunity.

It's a shame we were bothered every five minutes asking if everything was okay. And even more annoying, being helped by people who don't speak Dutch. Do they also follow the example of the big cities here? We just discussed it, but finding the name was apparently a real hassle. There was no reception either, so it took a while before we were helped. It's a shame, because I've never had this experience before, so hopefully it's a one-off.

We had a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere (good background music and lighting). The service was smooth and friendly. We've sat on the terrace during the day, but never inside. We made a reservation in advance (you'll receive confirmation and a reminder via email) for the evening and indicated that we'd be bringing two dogs. It was absolutely no problem.

It was a very busy day at Moeke's, but I have to say, the staff worked incredibly hard to provide everyone with good service, and they even spontaneously created a surprise when they discovered we'd been married for 24 years. The food was truly delicious, and we had a fantastic dinner. Thanks to everyone, the kitchen staff, and all the other extra hands. As you can see, highly recommended.

What a disappointment. We were so looking forward to a drink on your terrace, especially with the wonderful weather today. It was a complete surprise that the terrace was already closed at 4:15 PM, even though the sun was still shining brightly. It felt quite awkward to see staff members eating on the terrace, while we were told it had "just" closed. Apparently, the rules don't apply to everyone. The alternative of sitting inside was completely off the mark; we were actually looking for the outdoor seating. It's a shame, but we ended up spending our money elsewhere, where they apparently understood that a terrace is open to all guests.

Nice place, good beer and glass of wine. But the tuna tataki tastes like nothing.

It seemed like a nice place, but after waiting 15 minutes for a table, which was fine, we were shown to one. After waiting almost 25 minutes, asking if we could order something (we wanted lunch) and repeatedly asking a staff member, we left without having eaten anything. Such a shame.

After a walk, we enjoyed a lovely meal on the terrace. It's a beautiful spot right on the water, next to the Rhine ferry. Plenty of parking. The service was excellent. The terrace is also pleasantly decorated.

Had lunch on Friday. Flamkuche with carpaccio wasn't a great combination, and the club sandwich seemed very industrial-style. The location remains nice, and the staff is friendly.

We recently visited this truly charming little restaurant-café called Moeke in the town of Rhenen, and I have to say it was an absolute delight. The place is set along the river and has a gorgeous terrace with a really lovely view. On a sunny day like today, the terrace is just wonderful—honestly, it’s the kind of spot that really shines when the sun is out. Our first impression was fantastic. We waited just a few minutes for a table, and even though we were a group of seven, they found us a nice shady spot. From the get-go, the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Our waitress was just amazingly kind and welcoming—which, to be honest, is not something you always find in the Netherlands. Usually, service can be a bit more basic, but here it was absolutely top-notch. As for the food, we ordered a salmon fillet for the kids, a burger, and three big schnitzels, each with a different sauce. The schnitzels came with potatoes and a kind of Burgundy jam, plus we had one with hollandaise sauce, one with pepper sauce, and one with mushroom sauce—my personal favorite. Everything was delicious. We had a few beers, a bit of wine, and finished off with coffee and some ice cream for the kids. The children’s ice creams were served in these adorable little animal-themed cups that they got to keep, which was a really sweet touch. Price wise I found it a bit overpriced 3 Schnitzel's, 1 burger, 1 salmon filet, 2 fries, 3 children ice-cream, 6 beers, 1 spritz, 1 chardonnay and water: 210€ All in all, it was a fantastic place with great food, wonderful service, and a lovely atmosphere. It’s not an area I frequent often, but on a sunny day, I’d consider coming back here to enjoy a pleasant afternoon with friends.

A fried egg sandwich for €13.50, and then there's an additional €0.90 for the cheese, ham, and bacon. A sandwich with two eggs is truly expensive. A glass of rosé is €6.90, which is how I'd like to earn it. My first and certainly last time at Moeke Rhenen.

I was hungry and had heard good things about Moeke. I had the spareribs, while the other had the schnitzel. That was disappointing. Three small pieces compared to a huge schnitzel. So I ate one of my partner's schnitzels. For dessert, I had French toast, which was truly delicious. The waitresses were very attentive and observant. The terrace is very large, which made it quite noisy.

We were very satisfied. The staff was friendly and spoke English.

We ate at Moeke in Rhenen today. We had to wait a bit because we didn't have a reservation. Afterward, we were given a nice spot. Moeke Rhenen is right on the water, so there were plenty of views! The food was delicious, and the desserts were beautifully presented!

Delicious chicken burger and friendly service!

We were here a while ago and then left because no one came to take our order after 20 minutes (despite a reminder), even though it wasn't busy at all. Given the location, I tried again. It also took a while for someone to come, but afterward, the service was good and friendly. They should probably pay more attention to customers who just arrived. The food is absolutely excellent. The schnitzel is seasoned nicely and the steak is excellent.

Today I had lunch at the fried chicken sandwich, which was fine, but the club sandwich was truly terrible. The cheap chicken fillet was already green and dry, and the bread was rock hard, with way too much sauce. I always give good reviews because I believe that if something isn't right, you should be able to fix it on the spot. But I didn't get that chance. I didn't see anyone, and they didn't ask at the table if everything was to my liking. When I was paying, I pointed out and showed them that the chicken was definitely not good. But the chef thought otherwise. Nothing was done about my complaint. It was a missed opportunity. Too bad, you won't see me again.

I ordered a goat cheese salad, which was a bowl of lettuce. It only had one tomato, cut in half, and a few walnuts. Nothing else. Lots of balsamic vinegar on top and warm goat cheese. This isn't a salad, not dressed, nothing in it, rabbit food (sorry), and all for €17.50. I asked if I wanted bread or fries with it, but I chose bread. Italian, spiced bun, not crispy, and I saw later...€4.75! This is really too little and too simple for that much money! When I was asked, as usual, if it tasted good, I shook my head, but the waitress didn't look and was already gone. Too bad, no more "salad" for me here.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with a group of 10. After a warm welcome, we were assigned a square table by the window, which is so much better than just a long table! Now you can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and conversation much more together. Everyone enjoyed it, and the whole group agreed: we'll be back in a few months...it's easy to get to and has good parking...thanks, Moeke.

If you don't mind waiting at least 30 minutes for a drink after you've been seated, this is the perfect place. It's not overly busy, and there are plenty of staff. But you're simply ignored. And after answering the door, it takes another 15-20 minutes for a draft beer to arrive. Bizarre.

I always find it pleasant here. They're neat and polite. We often go here for drinks. And just for the ladies. If you really have a feminine problem and don't have anything with you, it's in the restroom. Today they were my lifesavers. Great!

Good service but not quite 5 stars

The food was delicious (as always). The staff was super friendly. They also immediately noticed if something was missing from the table and brought it over immediately (all without asking ;)). The price-quality ratio was also excellent! On a sunny day, the terrace is a wonderful place to sit. In short, highly recommended!

Real icing on the cake, that's already a winner. Self-service water at the entrance: that's fantastic service. For the next star, the apple cake could be a little crispier.

If you want to sit on the terrace, that is not allowed. Fine, we will sit inside. Then other guests are immediately allowed on the terrace. Incomprehensible.. No. 5 in the terrace top 100 not worth it. addition: then there is a response from Moeke herself about whether or not to allow guests on the terrace because of the weather and rain radar that would not be reliable. there was not even 2 minutes in between and the weather had really not changed in those two minutes. Moeke's response shows little ability to reflect.

Wow! What bad service. Arrived on a beautiful terrace. We were allowed to sit at a table of our choice. The service saw where we were going to sit. We sat down, several guests arrived after us and were helped. After 20 minutes of not having seen anyone at our table, my friend went inside to address the service. After five minutes we got someone from the service at our table and we were asked if we wanted to treat the service with respect. We indicated that we would like to drink something. The answer was that there was free water on the terrace to get yourself and she then walked away again. Without asking what we wanted to drink. It turned out that the system was down, that is possible but then write down an order in advance and say sorry it may take longer. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and excellent service at the competitor around the corner! This restaurant is not recommended. The location is beautiful but the rest of the service is really bad.

Too bad, I used to like this place. But after today I won't be back. I'm 25 and I wasn't given a beer because I didn't have a physical ID (I was wearing sports clothes). I offered a photo — refused. Another waiter said it was okay, but the first one still forbade it. Meanwhile they were laughing behind the bar and made me wait for over 10 minutes. A girl who was clearly younger got alcohol without a problem. Unfair, inconsistent and unprofessional. Enough with it.

What a sad event. Called to make a reservation, we drive 40 km. Then a dinner menu pressed into our hands. Ordered. After fifteen minutes sorry our kitchen is closed at half past nine. Ridiculous.

Nice terrace.. Service, atmosphere sufficient.. Food disappointing.. The bavette was extremely tough.. People with dentures would have had great difficulty with this. Absolutely not worth the money.. Too bad..

Beautiful location for Moeke along the Nederrijn in Rhenen. Enjoy a drink and a delicious meal outside on the terrace. We had to wait a little while for a table. This was fine. There was even a jug of fruit water with glasses that you could grab before your table became available. Nice with warm weather!

Average food. Tried schnitzel and succulent steak, and they tasted just average. Hollandaise sauce was not good because one of the spices (curry like?) was so dominant so there were no butter flavour at all. The service was slower than expected. Nothing to say to Atmosphere, good location.

My 4 month old daughter was inconsolable and so sweet that the staff came to me to tell me that I could breastfeed my daughter in another room. They closed all the curtains and said that no one was allowed in here except for the staff. I thought this was so thoughtful and sweet. They also have a changing station with diapers and wipes 🤩 food and service are also really great, definitely worth repeating

Hier voorheen een paar keer goede ervaringen gehad. Vanavond weer hier heen gegaan om te gaan eten op het terras is altijd erg gezellig. We hadden besproken komen er aan ik zeg tegen ober we hebben besproken is niet nodig u kan zitten waar u wil we willen graag op t terras, u kan aan de zijkant van het terras zitten. Wij u drankje besteld. Gekregen, toen vroeg ik de menukaart tot onze verbazing u kunt hier niet op t terras eten maar alleen binnen. Dit was een klein beetje navragen dame. Wij naar binnen zeker een kwartier gewacht eindelijk geholpen. Eten kwam wel snel en was redelijk niet zo goed als voorheen!! We waren uitgegeten en ik wilde een ijskoffie toe die was 2 avonden er voor ook erg lekker. Ik kreeg te horen die hebben we niet machine is stuk. Erg jammer.

For a quick drink, fine. We were there for lunch. Quite late, so it wasn't busy anymore. It took almost an hour before we had lunch. The tomato soup was sour and the fried egg cold. Meatballs were not available, so something else had to be ordered for this. While there was time to explain the 'specials' in advance, there was apparently no opportunity to explain what was sold out. In addition, the ventilation grilles above the dining table were dusty and dirty. Imagine it falling on your food. The location is good. Many cyclists take a break there.

Had another great meal with friends and two dogs! Tasty appetizer platter and a great steak!!!

Bad entry had reservations and at first they were not even allowed to sit outside, everything was full they said and yet there were tables available and finally we were able to sit outside but what a hassle.

Very customer unfriendly. Had reserved a table for lunch outside. Upon arrival this turned out not to be possible; only for indoor use. We were able to sit outside, but there were still 8 tables waiting for us, so despite the reservation we had to join the row of people who spontaneously arrived at the back. Outside there were more than 10 tables free that were not allowed to be used, because the staffing levels were not adjusted to that. Strange that you are allowed to take a seat inside with your reservation and not at the table outside less than 3 meters away, because it is no longer possible to serve there due to crowds... but the tables around it are occupied... Where has the customer friendliness gone? Reason enough for us to spend our money elsewhere.

We waited 15 minutes for a drink to be taken, then the drink took almost 20 minutes before it was on the table, we were hardly looked at by staff and the cocktails were not to our liking, and finally the food took almost 30 minutes

I've been here several times now and it's a super nice place. I was helped tremendously by Mohammed, a super nice guy. The 5 stars are more than deserved.
