We were served bitterballen that we hadn't ordered, but still had to pay for them later. We thought that was a shame. It would have been nicer if they had been on the house.

The ice cream parlor does not sell sugar-free ice cream. Small, crowded bench to eat your ice cream on; you are not allowed to eat the takeaway ice cream on the half-empty terrace! The taste of the ice cream was not special, possibly not real homemade pastry chef ice cream. The bakery supplies tasty and fresh rolls.

There are a few places you simply cannot drive past without stopping for an ice cream. This is one such place; delicious ice cream.

Today it took over 45 minutes, and after asking many questions, I was finally able to order a cup of coffee with something to eat. However, I then had to wait more than half an hour for the order. And finally, the pastry was lukewarm and not tasty. When paying, you are told to complain, "I will pass it on," and "well, it is just busy." In my opinion, that shouldn't come at the expense of quality. And another tip: there are people sitting inside instead of on the terrace. I saw several people leave.

After running with the running group, we enjoyed coffee and cake. Unlike many cafes that only open at 12 o'clock due to staff shortages, you can visit Nijkamp early in the morning. Pleasant atmosphere, both inside and out. There is also a wide selection of cakes and ice cream. One of my running companions had even enjoyed a meal here earlier.

My 6-year-old daughter had her first shot of alcohol here yesterday. Selling a chocolate with alcohol to a 6-year-old child is unacceptable to me. I allowed my 6-year-old daughter to choose a chocolate herself. The staff therefore knew that the chocolate was intended for a young child. It was only afterwards that it turned out to contain alcohol, because my daughter thought it tasted strange. When I subsequently asked what exactly was in the chocolate, the only answer was: "I don't know." No effort was made to find this out, and no alcohol-free alternative was offered either. I find it incomprehensible that you sell chocolates without knowing what is in them, especially when you see that they are intended for a 6-year-old child. Surely, as a customer, you should be able to expect a little product knowledge and responsibility. For us, this is reason enough not to return here.

I said I would like a non-coffee cappuccino, once my companion had also ordered. He brought it right away. Very little choice in pastries, the service left something to be desired. Disappointed this time!

What a wonderful experience this was. We had a fantastic meal here, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant. The presentation of the dishes is truly a feast for the eyes, and the flavors complement them perfectly. The beef stew in the earthenware bowl was particularly flavorful and tender. The dessert with the pears and ice cream was also a perfect end to the evening. We will certainly be back here soon.

We had lunch here on our first day of vacation. Plenty of choice and generous portions. I had a fried egg dish that even had 3 eggs on it, and was otherwise tastefully garnished. The coffee was also fine, with a fresh cookie. The staff is very friendly. If I have to mention a downside, it wasn't really clear at the beginning where we could still sit. Everywhere there was a 'reserved' sign, which ultimately turned out not to be the case. Because of this, people might walk away, which is a shame.

It is a fine place to be, but something went wrong with us. That can happen, of course, but after ordering the correct dish, another wrong dish arrived, and then the waitress got into an argument with us claiming we hadn't said it correctly. As far as we are concerned, it could have been handled more politely. The result was that I had already finished eating and my husband received undercooked eggs 20 minutes later.

I am a fan of fresh ice cream. Coffee ice cream, to be precise. But what I got here was really not tasty. The ice cream tasted powdery and actually had no flavor; it was just very sweet, but had no coffee flavor. For me, the worst ice cream in the Netherlands so far. And even worse whipped cream, which was almost liquid. I wouldn't go here again. The people were very nice, though, that's true. I got a new dollop of whipped cream on my ice cream when the first one slid off while I was taking it. But when I was outside, dollop 2 slid off too.

I stopped by early this morning to buy 3 sausage rolls. The lady behind the counter went to the display case with the sausage rolls, and what I saw there went beyond everything you could expect from a pastry chef. They looked terrible. The puff pastry was unevenly discolored; in some, the minced meat was oozing out: extremely dark, almost black. And the shape of the puff pastry? It was every shape imaginable, except the shape you would expect from a nice sausage. One example had a 'hole' in the middle through which the minced meat was visible. That you produce such failures as a baker might happen once in a while. But then don't put them in the display case for sale. It is shameful. When I indicated that I really didn't want those sausages, the lady made another remark: 'Well, then just don't buy them!' What a remark, totally inappropriate. I recently moved my business to Holten, but one thing I do know. If I have something to celebrate or need something from a baker, then absolutely not from this baker.

The ice cream tubs are quite full... not good in terms of taste. It looked like ice cream that had been sitting in there for a while. You are not allowed to sit on the terrace with an ice cream. And quite a hefty price per scoop for a very small scoop of ice cream.

Ridiculous. We had a (vegetarian!) tomato soup here today. While eating, we thought we tasted meat, but the menu said it was vegetarian. We inquired, and it turned out the kitchen had leftover meatballs and "just added them to the soup" without mentioning this to the staff. And as if this wasn't bad enough, the staff didn't seem bothered. They managed a "sorry," but we still had to pay, and there wasn't even a proper apology or compensation. I really didn't expect this from Nijkamp.

It was so nice to eat there. Delicious. We enjoyed it. And the staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. We will definitely eat there again this week. Thank you.

I bought a baguette and had it sliced, but it was already stale by dinnertime. Not what I expect from bakery bread.

Besides buying bread, savory and sweet rolls, and pastries, you can also enjoy a delicious (gluten-free) lunch here! The menu offers a wide selection, and the sandwiches are generously filled.

Got a coffee in the morning before we started the Pieterpad. Those coffees were quite pricey, but they were delicious. In the afternoon, we had a cake and a coffee, which was much cheaper than those two coffees.

Tonight there was an Autumn Menu, a 3-course dinner including Autumn Bock beer or a glass of wine for €35 (really? Yep). As an extra starter, we received a wild boar amuse-bouche with baguette and truffle mayonnaise. It was fantastic, delicious food, a lovely starter with a glass of pumpkin soup, a mushroom in beer batter, and carpaccio. For the main course, a beef stew, a piece of braised pork belly, sauerkraut wrapped in bacon, red cabbage salad, and sweet apples. For dessert, an exquisite crème brûlée with stewed pear, a scoop of ice cream with crumble, and whipped cream. The service was nice, quick, and attentive. The atmosphere was excellent. We enjoyed it!

We had a delicious breakfast at Nijkamp, ​​and that included a cherry monchou pastry – delightful! The pastry had a good texture and the monchou was wonderfully soft. My friend – who doesn't like sweets – was even jealous and took a bite. She thought it was delicious too. In short, a nice place for breakfast. The busyness in the bakery confirms this.

Delicious loooooong meat. Cozy atmosphere and beautiful, tasty products. The multigrain farmer's rusk with a sticker from Nijkamp de echte bakker turns out to come from a factory in Apeldoorn. The sticker suggests it is homemade, which is a shame. Otherwise, a beautiful and well-maintained shop. Definitely recommended for those going one-way to grab a drink on the terrace. A real winner, that's for sure.

Ordered some delicious Waldkorn bread for the freezer this morning. We used to get it at our supermarket. Unfortunately, they don't sell it anymore. So now we're getting it ourselves and enjoying their delicious coffee and pastries.

What a delicious onion soup, and what a sweet shop it is when you see all the bakery's wonderful products on display! We'll definitely be back! We returned the next day to eat the onion soup and take home delicious breads, cookies, pastries, etc. on our way back to Limburg!

The best ice cream in the area! A must-try when you're in Holten

We had a very tasty lunch on a pleasant terrace.

On the last Sunday of September 2025, it was incredibly busy. The entire terrace was packed. The speculaas biscuit with our coffee was so delicious that we bought an extra bag at the shop. We also bought an ice cream before leaving. That was also delicious.

They really do have good pastries there! And not just any old cheap pastries. The currant buns are also delicious. So, that's why I went to Bakker Nijkamp. Excellent!

Voor ons een gezin met 3 kinderen ,man klaagte de bolletjes wel heel klein waren ,werd verder niet op gereageerd .Wij waren aan de beurt en inderdaad de bolletjes waren (te) klein ,Wij hebben vaker ijs gehaald ,maar ik denk dat te kleine ijsbolletjesknijper was. meisje kon er niks aan doen ,collega zei als u een klacht heeft via de website . bij deze dus...

Busy bakery and ice cream parlor. Because of the warm weather, they'd placed inflatable pools under some tables to keep feet cool. Very funny. They also have a wide selection of ice cream, as well as pastries and drinks. It's a shame you couldn't get a smaller/simpler sundae on the terrace; they only offered large four-scoop sundaes at a great price. If you just want an ice cream, you can go to the takeaway counter next door.

We picked up sandwiches during our vacation and decided to have breakfast on the terrace the next day because it looked so inviting. The service is very friendly and helpful; they can't help it... Perhaps we should have stood up for ourselves more. We ordered two breakfasts for two people or more at €16.50 per person. The three of us wanted to eat this because we weren't very hungry and had a restless dog with us. The waitress had to come and tell us on behalf of her boss that this wasn't allowed. Three sets of food for two breakfasts... (just adding a plate isn't allowed). We ordered three breakfasts for €16.50 each and were charged €59.75 for breakfast for three people, because you have to pay for two coffees and one orange juice separately. In a word: Outrageous. Once again, the service was very friendly and helpful. She packed almost everything for us to take with us. What an overabundance, and it's a shame the boss didn't explain this embarrassing situation to our table himself. We won't be coming back.🙏
