Today, after a few months, I ordered Chinese food again. The food was very bland, and the nasi looked like plain white rice and was also burnt. When I called about it, they said nothing had changed and the nasi was always the same, but that's definitely not the case. For the price you pay, you should expect some quality. The portions are also very small compared to a normal portion of nasi or bami. Unfortunately, I don't call this Chinese food anymore! Definitely not recommended; this was definitely our last time here.

Got another Chinese meal for one. Excellent.

Pickup is fastest if you order online in advance. All in all, the food is delicious! The quality and quantity are excellent!

We ate there with a soccer team and their supervisors. The food and service were excellent! Halal was no problem, and there was plenty of it.

We've been coming here for takeout for years; it's easy to get there by bike from Hoevelaken. The prices were always reasonable, and the food was excellent. Generally better and a bit cheaper than the Chinese restaurant in Hoevelaken. That was once upon a time. Prices have gone up considerably (as they do everywhere with everything), but we didn't find the food as tasty as before. We think Nijkerk's Paasbos and the Putten wall are considerably better, although they are also a bit more expensive. It's not a bad option, but it's not recommended either.

Loved the fried rice—perfectly cooked. The chicken in sweet and sour sauce was bursting with flavor. The crispy prawn crackers were a great touch. Friendly service and a calm, welcoming atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Delicious food and great service! Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. The spring rolls were crispy, the curry deliciously creamy, well-seasoned, and everything was still warm. Highly recommended; we'll definitely be ordering from here again!

Yesterday, July 15, 2025, I got bami and funinghai. I asked if the bami was fresh and was told it was always fresh. I got home and unpacked it and saw that it wasn't fresh; it was burnt and looked very dark. For me, bami is fresh when it's white. Too bad you're getting ripped off. It costs a lot these days.

We ordered takeout food, and it was terrible. It was tasteless and not fresh. When we contacted the restaurant about it, we received a completely unfriendly response. Unfortunately, I see more negative reviews of this restaurant on Tripadvisor and Google Reviews. This is very unfortunate.

Wij hebben onlangs het Maandmenu A met Bami afgehaald bij Orientaals Restaurant Vathorst. Helaas was dit een bijzonder teleurstellende ervaring. De gerechten waren smakeloos en zeker niet vers. Het merendeel hebben wij moeten weggooien, wat zonde was van het eten én het bedrag van €34,35. Wij hebben het restaurant dezelfde avond (binnen 47 minuten na afhalen van het menu) een mail gestuurd. Na onze melding kregen wij een reactie van het restaurant, waarin werd aangegeven dat zij onze klacht niet herkenden en geen vergelijkbare feedback hadden ontvangen. En dat we hadden moeten bellen. Hoewel wij het waarderen dat onze klacht is besproken met het keukenteam, vonden wij de afhandeling onbevredigend. Het aanbod om één gerecht opnieuw te proberen bij een volgende bestelling vonden wij geen passende compensatie. Wat ons extra zorgen baart, is dat wij achteraf op Tripadvisor soortgelijke klachten hebben gelezen. Dit lijkt dus geen incident te zijn. Wij hopen dat het restaurant deze signalen serieus neemt en de kwaliteit van de maaltijden verbetert. Wij zullen hier helaas niet opnieuw bestellen.

Heb een bestelling gedaan en gevraagd of de bami vers was/ witte bami. Ja zecht hij alles is vers. Kwam thuis en dit het papier er af, schrok ervan bami aan gebrand en donker. Was niet lekker.

I've been going to Oriental Restaurant Vathorst for years, and we always look forward to it! The food is always delicious, the service is good, the staff is friendly, and they always think along with you!

We have had takeout here several times in the past and the food was always good. So we were really looking forward to it this time. Unfortunately, the tomato soup was very sour (?!), the noodles were sticky and the rest was not what we expected. After 1 plate we all had stomach problems, so we had to throw the rest away. Shame!

You enter the restaurant. It has a very nice, minimalist design. The aquarium and parasols add a nice touch to the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. The table is already set with cutlery, though in my opinion, it should be placed on a napkin rather than directly on the table. Nevertheless, both the table and the restaurant are clean. We order a set for two. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not have a drink menu, so we have to ask the staff directly. We order orange juice and Coke Zero, along with a set consisting of chicken with vegetables, egg in sauce, skewer in sauce, and fried meat strips. The sauces are tasty, though they resemble the ones found in ready-made meal boxes, like those from Boni. However, they are much better. The chicken is tender, which is a plus, but it could use some marination. I feel like the sauces are masking its blandness. It lacks a distinctive flavor and seasoning. The only thing with a rich taste was the meat strips. The total price was €72.50. I think it’s a bit overpriced. Additionally, the restaurant was quite chilly. The restroom was clean, but it was annoying that the light would turn off if you didn’t move for two seconds—I’m not sure why. There were also no paper towels to dry our hands. At the end of our visit, we received a chocolate, or rather a chocolate-like product—it’s a pity it wasn’t real chocolate—as well as a lollipop. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement! :)

What a terrible restaurant. We will never go there. Of course something can go wrong. They called it miscommunication, it was completely blamed on us and we had to pay the full amount again. Totally not accommodated. No idea what the food was like, we didn't eat it anymore. After your response I have a follow-up to this review: special to read that my husband ordered chicken. I was at the order so I know what was ordered: no chicken. We eat vegetarian. Miscommunication is possible but try to solve it. Also special that you can now respond kindly here.

Wat een verschrikkelijk restaurant. We gaan er nooit mee naartoe.Natuurlijk kan er wat verkeerd gaan. Miscommunicatie noemden ze het, werd volledig bij ons gelegd en moesten de volle mep opnieuw betalen.Totaal niet tegemoetgekomen. Geen idee hoe het eten was, hebben het niet meer opgegeten.

We had dinner here tonight because we have been married for 12.5 years. You want to celebrate this with a night out for dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant area, the takeaway was busy. The restaurant has no atmosphere. Employees' coats hang on the chairs in the restaurant, the brooms are behind them. It wasn't really warm inside. Where we were sitting we could look at the thermostat and it showed 18 degrees. Then you're not really feeling well. The food was very good, but you want an experience and that was missing. We were back home in 1.5 hours.

Very good Chinese restaurant for take-out. I recommend ordering by phone in advance. On weekend it's very busy and you'll have to wait at least 20 to 40 minutes

First time pick up. We picked up menu A. The babi pangang is chewy and drenched in sauce. The noodles are clearly fried. That other chicken dish is not special either. As if it's not all fresh. You might as well buy those ready-made containers from the AH, it will save you a lot of money.

Our first experience at this Chinese. Enjoyed a delicious meal from monthly menu B. Ordering in advance is recommended! Unfortunately, both the snack mix mini spring rolls and the pangsit and curry triangle were missing. Sloppy and unfortunate! Driving back to Vathorst is not an option from Hoevelaken.

Food tasted excellent but quite expensive. What doesn't make it any better is that you have to pay 50 cents for a plastic container. That is double what the ministry recommends. Especially with a cost price of 5 cents max.

Ordered online and a time was given at which time we could pick it up. It was very busy when we arrived. After waiting half an hour we discovered that we had to report and that only then would they start preparing our order. After the man behind the bar told us this, there were 3 more customers who reacted in surprise and reported that they had already been waiting for half an hour and 45 minutes for an online order with a pick-up time.

0 stars: We came with 6 people and 2 children, after 15 minutes of waiting there was still no service, we were the only customers in the restaurant who left without ordering anything, not recommended.

Restaurant has no atmosphere at all, menu is very limited and well priced. Don't eat there anymore, only take out. Prices have also risen considerably here. Portions are still a good size and quality is good.

5 stars, not because it is the best Chinese I know, (and I know many) but because it is good food and nearby. See many mixed reactions. My experience is that it is indeed very busy sometimes. But I don't know that differently from other good takeaway restaurants. The solution is to call, place your order and pick up the food at the time the restaurant indicates it will be ready. Works well. Well, I'd rather not pay for a plastic container either. However, you have to complain to the government regulators about that. There are also plenty of free parking spaces nearby.

Because the Chinese restaurants in Nijkerk center and Hoevelaken have disappeared, I tried this one in Vathorst today. Unfortunately it remains just this one time; I had to wait 49 minutes for a simple nasi, 3 pieces of satay and prawn crackers, which is ridiculously long. I wasn't the only one waiting, the waiting area was packed with a sultry air conditioner blowing down my neck. The food itself was okay, but no more than that. Shame.

I received the response below in response to my comment about charging transaction costs when collecting a meal and returning the 'deposit' for the plastic containers. This restaurant has too many customers or too little income. There is also a lot for them to learn about hospitality. You indicated that these charges have been abolished since 2022, but I cannot find any sources that support this claim. A similar incident has previously occurred in your presence; last time it was about plastic containers, while this time it is about the €0.30 transaction costs that, according to your interpretation, you should not be charged. I feel somewhat embarrassed by your tendency to have your own rules when ordering from us. I believe that in the past I have always tried to solve problems properly. Picking up or dining with us means that every guest must adhere to the stated conditions. To my knowledge you are the only guest who has commented on this. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that our restaurant does not fall within your price range, and perhaps another Chinese restaurant would better meet your needs. I get here often but the wait time has become horrible. If you just want to get a simple stir-fry dish without calling in advance or ordering online, you will have to wait 45 minutes. Really not okay, if they tell you this in advance before you order, you can still make the choice whether you want to wait.

Very nice that the menu does not consist of very many dishes. Nice service and very tasty Chinese.

Just ordered and picked up two spring rolls socially. Crispy but no filling. A little egg, a little ham, no meat. Good stuff 2 years ago. It really was the last time!

Geven vandaag aangebrand eten mee. Het valt ons (en anderen) op dat de kwaliteit erg schommelt. Het lijkt wel of ze twee koks hebben. Eentje die echt lekker eten maakt en een ander die er niets van ehh.. aanbakt. Dan kun je beter een kant-en-klaar maaltijd bij de Albert Heijn gaan halen. Goedkoper wordt het er niet op, dus dan wil je wel goed eten hebben. Jammer.

Hier 2 jaar geleden en 2 weken terug. Het eten was 2 jaar geleden echt wel beter, nu word alles helaas gemaskeerd door de saus. Jammer.

Voor het eerst Chinees besteld op deze plek. Binnen 25 minuutjes konden wij het eten ophalen. Wij hadden een menu voor 2-3 personen. Zeer royale porties en er nog een dag van kunnen eten, ideaal. Het eten smaakte goed, de volgende keer bestel ik hier weer!

Wat ons betreft een zeer lekkere Chinees. Kwaliteit lijkt zelfs wel iets te verbeteren. Minder vet van de gefrituurde dingen.

Je eet hier met plezoer. Is asndacht aan besteed. Je kan het ook meenemen naar huis of B&B. CORRECTE BEDIENING.

Vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten

Eten was goed. Prima geschikt voor afhalen. Ik zat in het restaurant. Aan het begin werden we nog goed bediend, maar na het opdienen van het hoofdgerecht de ober niet meer gezien voor het kunnen bestellen van een 2e drankje en toetje. Die dus maar overgeslagen en weg gegaan.

Nooit eerder geweest. Er zijn nog maar weinig traditionele chineese restaurants. Dit is een van de betere. Uitstekend verrassingsmenu gegeten. Uitermate vriendelijke gastheer en nog steeds aangename prijzen. Klein maar gemoedelijk restaurant en niet heel klassiek van binnen. Moeite waard om stukje voor om te rijen.

1ste keer bezocht i.v.m verjaardag van onze zoon. Traditioneel restaurant in een winkelcentrum. Klein maar gezellig. Waarom zo weinig gasten op een vrijdagavond? Ga niet alleen afhalen maar laat je verwennen en verassen. Het Traditionele chineese restaurant mag niet verloren gaan. Wij hadden een verrassingsmenu afgesproken. Heerlijke WonTon soep gegeten. Daarna volgde diverse verrassende gerechten o.a tippan, heerlijke gerechten met garnalen, kip en mooie malse ossenhaas. Afsluiting met een door de eigenaar zelf gebakken taart ( alleen op bestelling). Jonge uitbater Xalvatore is een uistekende gastheer. Bedankt we komen zeker nog een keer terug@

Kom er regelmatig prima eten wel aan de prijs

Over het algemeen een goede chinees. 3 weken geleden een uur moeten wachten op het eten bij afhaal.. iets met onderbezetting. Ze adviseren dan ook om telefonisch te bestellen

Voorheen was dit een goede Chinees om lekker even snel wat te halen. De laaste keren was dit helaas al anders. Eten wordt steeds slechter, lang wachten en onduidelijk hoe lang. Tot wel 1,5 uur. De beslissing gemaakt om hier maar niet meer naar toe te gaan. In minder tijd kun je beter zelf iets lekkers op tafel zetten. Ga je toch, verwacht er dan vooral niet te veel van, dan kan het mischien nog meevallen.

Lekker gegeten, indische rijsttafel was heerlijk. Bediening was zeer attent en vriendelijk. Er werd gevraagd of we een allergie hadden en tijdens een rookmomentje buiten werd gewacht met koffie serveren zodat we geen koude koffie hadden bij terugkomst. Top!!!

Het eten is goed, de menukaart vond ik lastig te lezen. Inrichting restaurant simpel een beetje kaal.

Combinatie gerecht, pangang met tjap tjoy en saté met bruine bami. Smaakte top de pangang zo waar geroosterd knapperig en de rest was dikke prima 👌 ps. Ruime bakken met pangang en tjap tjoy 😎

Wij zijn hier al regelmatig geweest en altijd lekker gegeten. Diverse kaart en met het dagmenu ook weer keuze voor wat anders. Vriendelijke mensen ook! De friandises die de jongeman, die ook bedient, zelf maakt zijn erg smakelijk. Aanrader!🙂

Al een tijdje gaat het achteruit in Vathorst. Vandaag was het helemaal te gek. Duurde al heel lang om de bestelling door te geven, er zaten mensen al wel een uur op hun bestelling te wachten. Hoop dat het in de toekomst beter wordt.

Het gerecht was duurder geworden en erg minder geworden. Jammer. De smaak was goed.

Lekkere gerechten en prima prijs. Eten op afgesproken tijd klaar. Vriendelijk personeel. Ruime porties.

Vi besøgte denne lille fine restaurant med et hold venner. Der er valg imellem flere forskellige menuer. Vi valgte tre forskellige menuer, alle var rigelige og meget lækre. Der var lidt ventetid men det var ventetiden værd. Go betjening, men bemærk at de ikke tager betalingskort. Kan godt anbefales.

Fint lille sted, hvor man både kan side ned og hygge eller komme forbi og hente take away. Vi bestilte menuer, hvor man får et par forskellige retter, hvilket var rigtig fint og meget lækkert. Det tager dog lidt tid, inden maden bliver serveret, så hav tålmodighed, du venter på noget lækkert. Sød og venlig service.
