A truly scandalous display at this establishment. We came specifically because, according to the official opening hours, they were supposed to be open for at least another half hour (at 8:28 PM on a Monday), but upon arrival, we were met with a closed door. What made it even worse was that the staff inside clearly saw us trying to open the door. Instead of politely walking to the door to explain, we were completely ignored and simply looked the other way. If you don't feel like working anymore or want to start cleaning earlier, just adjust your hours on Google and on the door. This shows complete disrespect for the customers who take the time to come by. They'll never see us again; what a customer-unfriendly place.

Top chip shop/restaurant - fresh, good service

Got food for 8 people, including one satay container. My wife had that. Two hours later, she puked all over it. So I thought I'd call and have them check it out. The immediate answer was that it wasn't possible. So they don't want to hear that it was spoiled. I normally don't post anything, but they're not grateful for my tip-off. So be careful!

What a great chip shop/restaurant! Lots of choices. The fries and snacks were also just fine. Nothing to complain about! 👏

I just got fries for two people. I got home and they were all small, re-fried fries. Leftovers, perhaps? Very dry and inedible. A waste of money, not what you guys are used to.

Yesterday we went to pick up, but unfortunately there was quite a bit wrong with our order: 2nd portion of mushroom sauce was missing, hamburger was burnt (pitch black on the bottom), limp and tasteless thin fries (undercooked?) and a homemade shrimp croquette that, well, what did it actually taste like? Not shrimp in any case. Is there nothing positive to report? Yes: the homemade bamibal was very tasty again. Maybe it was because it was so busy, maybe it had another reason, but this time it was unfortunately a disappointment overall.

Delicious food. Satay menu with fries. Tasty fresh fries. Large portion of chicken, tasty satay sauce. Friendly people!

Tonight I placed a large order for my father's party. When I got home, it turned out that my father's frikandel was missing. I called and they delivered the frikandel to my home. Really great!! And the fries and snacks were delicious!!

Placed order, went to pick up, got home half order missing. Back again, got a bag from behind. No apologies, no sorry. Nothing. Got home, of course everything was cold. Because that bag had been there for a long time. Super bad service. Ugh!

I have been coming here with hunger and pleasure for years!

Thanks to previous positive experiences, I walked in again. Still friendly staff and I don't know if it was due to the carnival crowds, but this time it was a major disappointment. In the meantime, very secretly, as if I had eaten Mr. Michèlìn himself again at De Oude Gracht and this time it was better stuff, that may also be said, but the chip shop is still not making it at the Oude Gracht Oude style. So it gets 4 stars for now. Why not 5? Simply because there is still plenty to gain in waste reduction if you were to serve the snacks without a container on the plate next to the FRIES (this for upscale "fries" eaters). So it wasn't the last experience at De Oude Gracht!

They first take the entire order from 3 people, have it paid for, then you get a bag in front of you, where we indicate that we wanted to eat there and therefore did not want to take it with us! The employee says "yes, but that is not on the receipt and we are going to close soon"... So we just had to sort it out outside... We unpack the fries, now tears come to my eyes, they are waste fries, all the mini mini greasy remains are just wrapped... Also for a large fries specially packed sauce... That's how much sauce you get with your snack at any other chip shop! Sad sad sad beyond words! ps. That old lady looking in the back corner, what kind of thing was that? Is she afraid of people? Why does she look at everyone who asks for the toilet so strangely? And she also has a child behind the counter that she has to raise and that she was barking at all the time!!

Today we waited 25 minutes, there were plenty of staff walking around and after 3 rounds of questions, service was still not helped Very unfortunate I won't be coming back for a while

I ordered food, normally it goes well, fries are always too hard and don't look good, my wife had medallions with fries, the meat wasn't cooked properly, I had GIROS WITH FRIES, WAY TOO HARD AND SO GREASY, I THROWED IT AWAY, FRIES ALSO WAY TOO HARD, NO, IT'S REALLY GONE BACKWARDS

Since this chip shop was taken over by the grumpy son, it has deteriorated considerably, fries are not cooked, some fries are brown and most are white. Hamburger meat has been fried for too long again, making it hard. Also the cheapest minced meat available, this used to be meat 'from the house'. That was very nice at first. Frikandel was lukewarm. If you say something about this, people will respond with 'oh okay'. We don't come here anymore. Update: we gave it another chance and it was even worse than last time. It seems as if he buys everything at the cheapest price in order to make a lot of money. Fries the same story again, some undercooked and some fried for too long. Meat also the same story. Really a shame. This time I also took satay sauce, which tasted of nothing and was very grainy. Everything just tastes very cheap and that really wasn't the case before. Now we'll never come here again.

Since my son took over the business, the quality has gone downhill in every respect. Undercooked fries, tasteless sauces, items not included in your order that are usually late and are now closed on Saturdays. We will never go there again.

A lot went wrong today. Girl serving is new I think. Forgot a drink, wrong schnitsel, wrong ice cream. I also thought the girl was a bit left to her own devices. The food was delicious again.

2nd order: good fast service, snacks were good, fries were unfortunately less (soft) 1st order: Fries almost unfried and cold, luckily there was enough sauce. Service ? They don't have that here. Last time for me here

Delicious food, large portions, friendly service

Yesterday I looked last minute for a place to have something simple to eat, ended up here via Google for fries and a simple sandwich, it exceeded all my expectations! Extremely cheap, more of a restaurant feeling than a chip shop or something like that, very neat decor, large amount of food and for that price, the service was also super friendly

Today I received something wrong that I had not ordered and it was promptly exchanged. Good food and good service

Had a delicious meal and a Budweiser. Burger with French fries and homemade stew. Definitely recommended!

You can get really good food here for your money, it's great if you can eat it all, we come here often.

3 stars because of my (perhaps wrong) menu choice. I had dinner here with my girlfriend. I ordered pizza, she ordered fries with a frikandel. I wish I had ordered fries too. :-( The pizza hot chicken.... Well, what can I say...? Just one thing, actually. Please take it off the menu. To start with, it was not a pizza made from fresh dough. The pizza was poured over. with a sweet, very spicy sauce. In addition, there was quite a bit of fat floating on the pizza. Never again pizza here. The fries (of which I had a few) were good: nice, dry, crispy. I will definitely eat here again, the menu is extensive enough. Hopefully a more positive review next time.

ON AUGUST 25, we felt like eating good food, so we went to the old canal. It was very busy... but I'm used to them being there quickly... well, not really. I sat at a dirty table that wasn't cleared. I asked a girl, can you? to clear this up, she says no, I'm from the service and kept walking...... after about 10 minutes a boy comes our way and asks again. He says it's very busy, well, I'm not blind,,,,he says order online... no, the table is dirty and I didn't ask if we wanted something to drink, he was quite rude, now after another 15 minutes, customers come to me and said I had better go because it was very bad, they had very bad had to wait a long time...since I depend on oxygen, I went too, very bad thing, sorry

A decent family restaurant and traditional dutch fast food in one. It appears to be a family business that has been prospering for a long time. Clean restaurant, open kitchen, fast service for takeaway, rich menu, you get the food as advertised, good opening hours, lots of apparent frequent customers, decent parking.

Great place for a good meal at a fair price.

The fries are tasty, as long as you indicate how you want them fried. If you don't do that, sometimes they will be pale and other times too hard. It just depends on who makes the fries. The snacks are also fine, but there may be a bit too much on offer. I always think that it is better that what you offer is perfect, than that you offer too much and then lose the overview. I also go to Zwerts for fries, there you get what you get and you don't have to tell them how you want your fries :-)

Surprisingly cozy eatery. Much more than a Snack Bar.

The food was tasty, only a small downside that the curry was at the bottom of the special container, so you had to dig between the fries for curry, but otherwise it hasn't been that good in a while.

Far above average delicious hand-made snacks! We keep coming back for that, but the special loaded fries are also highly recommended. We usually order online, and I have to say that it always takes a while because of the crowds (which of course says enough about how popular they are! :) ). Small tip: order on time and everything will be fine! Occasionally something goes wrong with the order, but we always look for a suitable solution together! Top!

Fast service, excellent quality and the homemade items such as the croquette and bamibal are very tasty.

After an Instagram post about fries with curry sausage, I visited this restaurant, and it was a great choice. The fries with German sausage and sauce were more than excellent! There is an ordering column in front of the door if you want to take your order with you. You can also simply order at the cash register inside. There is plenty of seating space inside and the staff is correct and professional. The food was brought to the table on a beautiful wooden board.

Always very friendly people. And most importantly good food. Whatever you order, it is all very tasty. Just a nice place to enjoy the dining experience with your kids. Lots of choice and freshly made 👌

Heerlijke (friet)tent ze hebben snacks uit eigen keuken en dat verschil proef je zeker!

Mijn go-to friettent met vriendelijke bezorgers. Soms duurt het wel wat lang voor je bestelling aan je deur word geleverd en af en toe word er hier en daar een fout gemaakt met de bestelling, maar over het algemeen kun je hier prima eten. Het kost wat meer dan je gebruikelijke frietzaak, maar er is dan ook aanzienlijk meer keus. Ondanks het tenenkrommend slechte afspeelbandje wat je krijgt te horen als je belt om te vragen waar je bestelling blijft, heb ik hier altijd lekker gegeten.

Mooie zaak, goed assortiment en vriendelijke bediening.

De soep ontzettend lekker en verzorgd. De mixed grill veel te veel friet en maar kleine stukjes te taai gebakken. Misschien er mensen die het wel waarderen ik ben er geen voorstander van. De snitzel veelste vet.ik denk dat het lekkerder geweest zou zijn als het gewoon gebakken zou worden. De accommodatie De bediening wel heel vriendelijk. Muziek wat te hard.maar goed dat is voor iedereen anders. De friet ontzettend lekker. We zullen wel vaker blijven bestellen maar die dingen niet meer . Misschien een tip om het te vragen hoe men de mixed grill het gebakken wilt hebben.

Wat een heerlijk eten ,heel veel keus ,vriendelijk personeel ,en heel gezellig om te zitten

Uitgebreide kaart, mooie schotels, maar ook wat er in een snackbar op het menu staat. Loaded Fries met rendang was echt lekker, voor herhaling vatbaar. Vriendelijk personeel, en alle tafels bezet op een woensdagavond laat zien dat het een populaire zaak is.

Broodje hete kip is een topper!

Tasty food! Good pizza and great burgers. I don't give 5 stars because when ordering take away they often forget my order and start preparing by the time i arrive to pick it up :-(

Leuk cafetaria waar je binnen lekker kunt zitten. Ze hebben daar werkelijk van alles variërend van het standaard friettent menu tot speciale burgers, loaded fries en schotels. Het personeel is er vriendelijk. Jammer genoeg weinig vega items en geen halal items. Vreemd want in de omgeving waar ze zitten zou daar zeker veel vraag naar zijn.

Friet is zeker lekker en lekkere snacks, maar de bediening is k*t!! Eerst 2 keer dingen vergeten... 3e keer 25min wachten en hebben ze de bestelling niet doorgezet. Laatste keer helaas.

Mooie zaak, schoon en vriendelijke mensen. Heerlijk huisgemaakte gerechten. Enig minpuntje is de opmaak van de borden, daar mist nog wel wat liefde én groen. ;)

Altijd lekker eten voor een mooie prijs, zeker een aanrader! Sneller opruimen van tafels waar mensen zijn vertrokken, is nog wel een aandachts punt.

Personeel niet bepaald "gastvrij": eerder komt het onverschillig over. Smaak van de snacks prima; de frieten daarintegen zeer wisselvallig te hard of te zacht
