Fun for kids and parents, highly recommended!

Great experience at Pannenkoe in Krimpen aan den IJssel. We were seated quite quickly and were served promptly as well. The order was taken smoothly and the food was served quickly. Pleasant and fast service. Definitely recommended!

Super nice place with a beautiful terrace, delicious coffee, and very friendly people. The playground is fantastic for young and old. Even our 7-month-old baby could play happily on the artificial grass. And the pancakes are tasty too!

It is quite a disappointment. We wanted to eat there yesterday, but there was only a table in the sun (currently a heatwave). Even though there were plenty of tables inside immediately to the left. So we left. We went back today. I specifically asked for ice cubes in the Rivella. It came without, I asked again, and got so much ice that it was hard to drink. The staff were standing around talking to each other a lot at the bar. The pancake could have been a bit better; the crust was really hard. And when paying, there was suddenly an apple on the bill for 2.95. Didn't see an apple. The bill was high in proportion to the service and what you got, in my opinion.

The food was fine. But the play area was unbearable in terms of air and heat. It just looked blue! All the air and smoke from the kitchen came into the play area. Really terrible!!! The service was also ridiculous... I was constantly being leaned over and other plates were resting on my pancake... I thought it was so bad I wouldn't want to go back here!!!

We were here on a Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM. Upon entering, I mentioned that it was my daughter's birthday. This was politely acknowledged by hanging a garland by our table, which she naturally really liked. Unfortunately, the positive aspects largely ended there for us. The restaurant was virtually empty; including our table, only five tables were occupied. Yet, we had to wait well over an hour for our food. That is hard to understand when it is so quiet. Additionally, the restaurant did not make a fresh impression. The floor, tables, and the general appearance looked grubby and poorly maintained. However, the biggest problem was the pancakes themselves. For a restaurant specializing in pancakes and charging hefty prices for them, you expect a good product. The pancakes we received were remarkably tough and very disappointing. How you get a pancake so tough is a mystery to me. As if that wasn't enough, an employee at the claw machine ran hard into my mother-in-law's leg with a vacuum cleaner. Instead of stopping for a moment to ask if everything was alright, she walked on and just called out "oh sorry" over her shoulder. That came across to us as indifferent and unprofessional. I am giving two stars because my daughters had a great time in the indoor playground. Without that playground, it would have been one star for me. Unfortunately, this experience was so disappointing for us that I would not be quick to recommend the restaurant. I notice, by the way, that the reviews here are completely full of free advice for the Pannekoe. It is a shame that little is done with this, because the complaints remain the same.

Had to wait 55 minutes for cold pancakes.. Normally the pancakes are tasty, but this visit at this location was really significantly worse than others.

A big fat 1. Very bad service, staff are just talking to each other. We were only asked once if we wanted something to drink. The staff are too young and don't notice; we had to wait an hour for our food.

Good experience. I had reserved a spot not too close to the arcade due to Grandma's hearing impairment. They took that into account very well. Tasty pancakes; the bacon and cheese pancake was nicely crispy and certainly not overcooked. Served by a very friendly young man with curly hair who keeps an eye on all the tables in his section of the restaurant. Had a lovely evening, we will definitely be back!

I regularly drove past on my way to my daughter; from a distance, it was a somewhat dated building named Pannekoe, which made me raise my eyebrows. However, yesterday I grabbed a bite to eat to celebrate a birthday. The staff held their own professionally in a restaurant full of children, with all the challenges that entails. Admittedly, they were helped by a play area and other small, child-stimulating attractions, but still. So, a great concept. The menu turned out to be a bit more extensive than you might expect from a standard pancake restaurant. I went for their specialty pancake myself, which naturally bore their name; A hearty meal pancake and well-cooked. As far as I'm concerned, highly recommended.

I had a nice meal there with 2 young children, spent €100 for 2 children's pancakes, 2 deluxe pancakes, 1 ice cream and a drink.

Great for children, pretty clean, has a huge inside playground and the food is great. This place has everything a parent with a small child can ask for.

Fun with kids, good deal with the Rotterdam pass

The poffertjes tasted delicious, and it was nice that they made room for us to sit on the sunny patio on this spring day. A major drawback was that there were bits of hard black plastic on the poffertjes. These likely came loose from the poffertjes pan, as they weren't burnt on. We reported this several times, and they said they would pass it on to the kitchen.

It took a really long time for the order to arrive, and then there were also two dishes that arrived much later. Very disappointing.

Great concept, but quite expensive, and I didn't think the pancakes were great for such prices. The advantage is that your child can play there.

I thought the food was great, and the play area is also fantastic. I was there early afternoon, it was very quiet, and there was only one employee or the owner. He came by every ten minutes to ask if we needed anything, constantly watching us. It made us feel uneasy. We'd already ordered food and drinks, and then he came by every ten minutes to ask if we wanted more. It felt very forced and not really friendly! I'll try a different location next time, but unfortunately, I won't be returning to this one!

That play area is really dirty, sand, hair, candy wrappers, dust everywhere.

First time I ate pancakes here and the last time the pancakes were hard we couldn't eat everything the latte macciato was just reheated milk

I ate at Pannekoe in Krimpen aan den IJssel today. It was quiet, which was nice. The pancakes were served fairly quickly. I immediately ordered water and syrup for the children. After about 15 minutes, we still hadn't received anything. When I asked a staff member, he walked off to get it and only returned with syrup. When I asked where the water was, I was told that the staff member who had taken the order was smoking. I found that a very strange and unprofessional explanation. Too bad, because this could have easily been prevented.

Spacious! Large tables and comfortable chairs. A play area for the kids is a real treat, of course. An experience for the whole family, complete with a delicious pancake.

Returned after an earlier review I wrote about the mediocre quality of the pancakes. Unfortunately, I had to conclude that they were still mediocre. This time I also tried other dishes: burger, chicken satay, fries with nuggets. Nothing to complain about here. Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, we had to wait over an hour for our order. This was compensated with a round of drinks on the house. This is a true eating and playing paradise for children. Tip for Pannekoe: stop serving pancakes and stick to the other dishes on the menu.

Bad experience – check your bill carefully! We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Not only was the food of mediocre quality and it took a very long time for our order to finally arrive, but when we got home, we saw that we had been charged an extra €40 for two pancakes and two children's drinks that we had never ordered. I tried contacting them through their social media, but apparently, they only use it for advertising and not for customer service. So far, I haven't received a single response. So, a tip for everyone: check your bill carefully before paying, otherwise you might be in for an unpleasant surprise.

I went with my family on Wednesday afternoon. The problem wasn't discussed clearly and was rudely discussed with me. I won't be coming again, which is a shame for my daughter; it was her birthday today.

Today, to celebrate the baseball season, we went to dinner with the team at De Pannenkoe. Even though some of the group arrived way too early (my mistake), it wasn't a problem. The table was still being prepared, but we were able to sit at a different table. While the staff member was cleaning the table, he also chatted with us very friendly. The food arrived quickly and at a relatively consistent pace (quite impressive considering there were 17 of us). The pancakes were delicious, and the hamburger looked great too. After dinner, the kids could burn off some energy in the indoor playground. So... Delicious food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

Cozy but always busy with those kids, but if that bothers you, you shouldn't go to a pancake house

Had a nice lunch with colleagues from Malaysia and were surprised by the variety of pancakes. The pancakes are good, but certainly not outstanding; personally, I found mine a bit dry. But all in all, a delicious meal at a wonderfully cozy, busy (and kid-friendly) location.

Normally, we're quite happy with Pannenkoe restaurants, but here in Krimpen, we weren't. It's a nice place with a fun indoor play area. But the pancakes were simply awful, even though we were the only guests at the time. The children's pancake was so hard you could break it... And of our three apple pancakes, two were also hard and dry, almost like cardboard. It was also a shame about the waiter's poor response to our feedback about the pancakes: "I'll pass it on to the kitchen." An apology, a free drink, or not having the pancakes included on the bill would have been more appropriate. Oh yes, upon leaving, we had to ask for the coin for the toy machine that goes with the children's pancake, instead of the staff giving it to us themselves. Not exactly hospitality either.

Super fun pancake restaurant to go to with kids

Fun for the kids, but not for a proper meal. A quick bite (cold fries) also went wrong with someone else's order that was placed with us. We did get a cash refund immediately.

This Pannenkoe branch is quite large. A plus is the indoor playground for younger children, the games they can play while waiting for their pancake (e.g., a letter hunt throughout the restaurant), and the "treasure" they can pull from a claw machine upon departure. Unfortunately, the pancake itself remains a point for improvement. It was disappointing during my first visit a few years ago, and unfortunately, it was still disappointing during my recent return visit. It's a rather dry meal. But the children don't complain and seem to have a great time.

I think it would be quite fun for a children's party. You can get a package for a reasonable price. Children can also play in the play corner. We came because of the Rotterdam Pass offer: a free plain pancake. It was great that it was free, but what was truly awful? Tough and definitely not fresh from the stove. Maybe baked in the morning and reheated? I have no idea. And if they do show up baked, maybe they should check the recipe. It was fun with my niece, but once was enough.

Fun place to go with kids. They will definitely be entertained. A fun location and parking is also easy and free.

I ordered a pancake with a frikandel special with onions, which was quite tasty, but the edges were a bit hard and the dough in the middle felt undercooked. For €17.50, I expect a top-notch pancake. This pancake I received shouldn't have cost more than €10. Another thing about the flies that were constantly feeding around us and had to be shooed away several times because otherwise, they would have just been sitting on our food. The furniture could use a freshening up (some chairs and tables have some damage, but it's not very noticeable if you don't look closely). I had powdered sugar on the floor for an hour and it wasn't cleaned up immediately. I could say much more, but I'll leave it at that. I wouldn't eat here again anytime soon, as the price-quality ratio isn't very good at this restaurant.

After 45 minutes, still no appetizer and no service. Then we got the appetizer and almost immediately the main course. A similar experience a year ago, unfortunately, no improvement. On July 25th, we were invited for a pancake. Nothing improved, if anything, worse. The waiters came to take our drinks orders with a stack of plates from another table... No customer service whatsoever.

Cozy pancake restaurant. There were eight of us, but we only got four pancakes for four. The staff responded quickly when we asked where the remaining four were. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Unfriendly staff. Unfortunately, I had to give one star. The staff asked us if we'd already ordered and if we wanted anything else, while he then saw it on his phone. Yes, we've been waiting for our order for an hour and a half, even though only six tables are occupied.

Just been there, with my colleagues. There were 2 colleagues and myself who had ordered poffertjes, unfortunately the largest portion. They were inedible, a lump of flour. They were much too thick and therefore not really cooked. Such a waste of money.

Updated 11/5/2025 Ate here again today for Mother's Day. Extremely friendly boy who served us. Nice spot on the terrace when the weather is nice. Gone from 2 to 3 stars. We were with a group, yet you expect the dish to be served at the same time. New on the menu are waffles, but they mainly resembled those from the supermarket and certainly did not come straight from the iron. It's a pity that on such a day all the strawberries are gone at 5 p.m. (but a small thing). Good pancakes, but not enough staff. Taking drinks went smoothly, but not delivering them. Then a long wait to receive and serve the dishes. Two courses in 2 hours with children is simply too long. Then off to bed with the stress of choosing gifts.

Not exactly fantastic. Overpriced for what you get in return. Positive: A beautiful indoor playground and nice cow facility. The children had fun, including the pancakes with their own decorations. The goat cheese salad was good. Negative: The pancakes had little taste, were not well done and when they got home, everyone who had a pancake had a stomach ache and diarrhea. Unfortunately, the service was also inexperienced and not very interested. Drinks were taken quickly, then we were completely ignored even though it wasn't busy. A shame, because the concept is good.

Food and service as you would expect from a panko, no crazy surprises, fine. Nice children's menu with cuddly toy, Doekoe and an ice cream cup. Strangely enough, an apple juice is more expensive than a beer, so the choice is quickly made what to order for your child. Furthermore, the heating can be turned down a few degrees unless you don't mind being in your swimming trunks.

But what I really don't like is that the children's play area is really dirty. Everything is covered in dust and crumbs. Judging by the amount of dust between all the seams and edges, it is clear that cleaning is not done here often. You should let your child play in that...

We had made a reservation for 4:00 PM. We were put at a long table that we had to share with other families. Before we could even order a drink, we were told that we really had to be gone at 6 p.m. Then the table was reserved. I would have preferred to leave immediately, but my nephew really likes pancakes. That we stayed. It didn't get any better. Behind us the staff was taking a break at the table. We heard them complaining about the guests and how they could whine like that. They told us not to make things difficult because that was just the way the situation was. Too bad, it was my first time shrinking and I think it will be my last. I would never recommend this tent to anyone.
