Super grumpy manager, 3 staff members talking to each other without speaking to the customers. I'm going to another bakery.

I had a drink with my wife today. The order was brought after a fifteen-minute wait. When paying inside the establishment, I joined the queue of a lady standing at the cash register to settle my bill. I had to wait 12 minutes to pay, because the employee was out telling a customer some news. After the lady had left, I couldn't pay at this register. So, I went to another register. There, five employees were standing around chatting pleasantly with each other. They had certainly seen me. But here too, talking to each other was more important than helping a customer. I won't be coming back here.

They take ages to serve anything.

A great experience. My wishes were listened to carefully, unfortunately necessary due to allergies. The (gluten-free) bun was crispy and super tasty, as were the salmon and topping (lactose-free). The coffee with oat milk is also worth mentioning. A big thumbs up.

A cozy and nice addition for a cup of coffee while grocery shopping! However, it is becoming increasingly crowded with tables and chairs and is an obstacle for wheelchair users or walkers. Extra chairs and tables might be good for revenue, but a limitation for others.

It's a cozy spot for lunch, but they really could improve their customer service. Upon entering, we waited a long time for someone to speak to us; they simply walked past us and couldn't even say "good afternoon." Then we approached someone and asked if we'd like lunch, and they said, "Sit down somewhere." We ordered drinks and lunch, but were then passed over again. A table next to us received much more service. For example, we saw a piece of bacon skewered on a straw for the children, which was very nice. But my daughter, the same age, didn't get it. I think that's a missed opportunity; it's the details that make a visit an experience and a lasting memory. The waitress, in my opinion, was two-faced: one serving at the highest level, the other simply because it was necessary. The food was excellent, and the decor was cozy and inviting.

The food was delicious, but the portions were a bit small. For a €15 sandwich, you could easily have another slice of bread, as there was certainly enough toppings.

We were greeted warmly by Miranda, who helped us immensely. We ordered a warm brie sandwich, which is highly recommended! It was delicious. Not too sweet, just right! The atmosphere and staff were very pleasant.

We went there to get ice cream, but they didn't have any. The ice cream season was over.

A bakery and lunchroom in one, friendly service and high-quality products

Toddlers refuse to pee... Today I walked by with my toddler! I'm not very knowledgeable about toilet stations in Borne. I asked if my toddler, who has just finished toilet training, could use the toilet. She was happy to help, but had to say no because it's company policy, requiring you to buy something (ice cream) for your much-needed toddler first! So, a big fat no to hospitality dictated by policy! Luckily, the young woman was able to direct me to another station that was thankfully nearby, but it wasn't clear whether it was open during the holidays/office hours. (If I hadn't refused, I might have thought to buy the kids a treat. I've now bought one from the neighbors. Changing the policy for emergencies would be a smart move! Even with no toddlers.)

Bakery with a lunchroom. As our neighbors to the east call it, "Konditorei." Delicious sandwiches, well-presented, and wonderful salads. The coffee is good, and there's a lovely terrace.

For a cup of coffee and pastry or a delicious lunch. They also sell delicious ice cream.

Very nice staff, but the pastries are disappointing. Few vegetarian options. Dark and noisy.

I ate multigrain bread with smashed avocado. By far the most delicious and best-filled bread I've ever had here this afternoon. Clearly made with passion, a fantastic combination of toppings. Made with super fresh ingredients. Finally, a properly topped sandwich where the toppings aren't buried under sauce. Kudos 👌👌

You can always sit comfortably there. Just a Latte and something tasty.

Really delicious and everything was great

Not really thinking along. There was an invalid woman in the wheelchair this morning. She had been standing in line for a long time, she came to get the sandwiches she ordered. It was said that you can also pay at the other cash register. But when she got to the other checkout, she was sent to the other side and was able to get back in line....almost what I said had a bad feeling on my lips!! That woman said, do I have to get back in line now? And there was no response.

Beautiful bakery with lunchroom, tastefully decorated. Sandwich with brie and walnuts and chicken teryaki were very tasty. Brought pastries, very tasty. Beautiful bakery.

I was unpleasantly impressed by half of a cookie served with coffee, as if someone had taken a bite and served it up. It was annoying to have a discussion with an employee at the branch about whether this was normal. In any case, not aesthetically pleasing.

We had to wait a super long time and we weren't even served while others were, even those who came in later than us. We also reported it, but nothing was done about it. we got an irritated look back and we were still not helped. finally got up and walked away. very antisocial

We would have liked to have breakfast with you in Borne a while ago, but it turned out that this had to be made by appointment. I find this a bit of a shame. It was also not possible because of the crowds. It was also a shame that there were 4 people in the kitchen who did little or nothing...

Just a moment of laughter! After a delicious lunch with a colleague, he bought a cake. When she wanted to share it that evening, she found a large mess in the refrigerator. She then discovered that she had not bought a cake but an ice cream cake😂 When I later mentioned this incident to an employee of the Pastry Chef while picking up my order, I spontaneously received a new ice cream cake for my colleague. Very nice!!

We came for a coffee and a mint tea on a Saturday at 2:55 pm. Unfortunately the friendly waitress could not serve us as they closed at 4pm and the kitchen was already closed. Special reasoning. I would be careful with my customers, because it is not cheap there.

I had lunch at your place a few weeks ago with my girlfriend, we sat outside and the sun was shining, yet it started to rain. Then we went inside where there was no room. We went outside anyway because the sun was back, we asked the manager why don't you turn off the screen, this was not possible due to... the weather conditions. A bit strange then turn the sunshade inwards. In Enschede you can sit under the awning. To which he said then you are going to have lunch in Enschede. Very rude behavior, not customer friendly at all. A jerk in my eyes. The service was good. I think business is going well there, mass is box office. Don't come here again!!!

Really enjoyed coming here - the food was great, the service was always with a smile and they provided wonderful gluten-free options. We came back another four times during our three weeks stay in Nederland. A couple of times a small market was also a lovely attraction in the square. We'll come again!

Unfortunately, you will not be helped on the terrace. People walk away, it takes far too long before someone comes

Leuke tent bakkerij en restaurant prima broodje gegeten

Heerlijke bakker. Heerlijk zuurdesem brood, de saucijzenbroodjes speciaal waar kaas in en op verwerkt zit is subliem. Er zijn kleine schaaltjes om te proeven en ook daar was het gebak echt goed van smaak. Spontaan nog een bakje kruidenboter gekocht wat echt waanzinnig was van smaak. Je betaald er wel voor, maar ik vind het het waard. Het personeel dat zo ver moest lopen richting kassa kwam wel wat rommelig over.

Echt top een aanwinst voor Borne !!!

Gewoon heel lekker brood en gebak. Leuke bediening. Wat wil een mens nog meer bij de bakker.

Over de producten niks te klagen. Maar ongelofelijk hoe traag het personeel is, iedereen is met elkaar aan de klets maar mensen worden niet geholpen en lopen ook weg. Tafels worden ook niet afgeruimt waardoor er niemand kan zitten.

Mijn broer en zijn vrouw zijn 25 jaar getrouwd en als familie wilden we hen graag verrassen met bloemen en taart. Echter wonen wij niet in de buurt! Een telefoontje naar Bakkerij Otten en het is opgelost! Bakkerij Otten heeft een prachtig taartje gemaakt en deze met een mooie bos bloemen bezorgt vandaag. Heel erg bedankt voor jullie medewerking! Mooie zaak, lekker gebak, bediening mag iets vlotter.

Als je een lekker broodje wilt eten dan kunt je dat hier zeker krijgen. Super lekker brood met voldoende zalm of carpaccio. De bediening was ook gezellig en goed.

Mooi buiten terras. Lekker brood en ijs. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

Prima ijsje. Als hoorntje of in een bakje mag je dan niet op het terras te zitten (we kennen ijssalons waar dat geen enkel probleem is), maar er zijn banken aan de rand van het terras. 1 ster afwaardering daarom.

Na afronding van een project in Borne even spontaan wat wezen eten met z'n 3-en. Als Hengeloer kende ik deze zaak niet (sorry...filiaaltje openen?) en was op alle fronten positief verrast. Vlotte bediening, geintje erbij, heerlijke en rijkgevulde broodjes. (....mag het iets meer zijn....top!) Ben naar binnen gelopen om af te rekenen. Uit nieuwsgierigheid....wat een zaak! Groot maar sfeervol....mooi assortiment van patisserie, brood en ijs. Kassière van het moment, Nicole, had een leuk gesprekje met een paar oudere toeristen die ook erg tevreden waren en ook al vaker geweest waren.....ik sluit me bij dat laatste graag aan....

Vriendelijke bediening, heerlijke koffie, gebak ziet er prachtig uit én is heerlijk. De broodjes die ons voorbij kwamen zagen er ook erg lekker uit

Als echte geboren en getogen Bornenaar nam ik mijn makelaar mee voor een lunch ‘op stand’ in hartje centrum. We hebben 2 luxe broodjes besteld, een Chardonnay en bruiswater. Daarbij kregen we een minuscuul bakje chips, op zich prima natuurlijk. Terwijl we wachtten op onze lunch en lekker aan de wijn nipten was het bakje chips leeg en vroegen om 2 bakjes, wel zo makkelijk. De dame in kwestie zei: ‘Laten we eerst maar met 1 beginnen, hè?’ Goh, joh. Toen we naar de balie lopen voor een refill zei ze ook nog: ‘Nou, een klein beetje dan nog’. Ik wist niet dat ik daar een 2e moeder had werken. Ik schaamde me voor dit gedrag. Onnadenkend en ook dom, want als je gezellig doet en niet als een moedertje je klant betuttelt, neemt de klant gewoon nog een 2e en 3e glas Chardonnay. En wie weet nog meer, al naar gelang de gezellige atmosfeer. Als je luncht voor 38 euro, wil je dit niet meemaken over een minuscuul bakje chips. Tot slot: de lunch zelf was zeer smaakvol!

Vandaag bij jullie geluncht met mijn client. 1 Warme Salmon deluxe, 1 Tuna salad, 1 Chaud Fontaine Rood, 2 Cheval Chardonnay. Mooie zaak, goede lunch, best aan de prijs maar dat is persoonlijk. Waarom dan 3 sterren? Ik vroeg bij het tweede glaasje wijn een extra bakje chips voor mijn client omdat hij dat wou. Eerst de opmerking: "laten we dan eerst 1 doen" waarna ik nog zei dat we er 2 wouden, we vroegen niet of we het gratis mochten hebben. Toen ik het extra bakje chips vroeg kreeg ik de opmerking: "Nou een klein beetje dan". Het was een ongemakkelijke situatie, was me niet bewust dat mijn moeder in de zaak werkte en ik op mijn 47ste nog even terecht gewezen zou worden. Gelukkig kon mijn client er om lachen. Ik heb service hoog in het vaandel staan en daarom gingen we bij jullie mooie zaak lunchen, want het is een prachtige zaak. Geef dat extra bakje chips, dan gaan mensen meer drinken.

Het is een heel mooie winkel en het brood smaakt heerlijk en de gebakjes zijn ook heerlijk we komen elke week voor het brood groetjes angelique nijhuis

Ziet er netjes uit ook het brood ia erg lekker ennveel keus. Voor gebak was er vëel keus, taarten maar 3 soorten helaas. Misschien door de drukte van pasen al veel op.

Mooie winkel. Uitgebreid assortiment en vriendelijk personeel.

Voorbereiding niet goed. Werd uitstekend snel gecorrigeerd. Rond half 1 waren de wachtrijen wel erg lang. Klanten vonden dat niet leuk.

Vandaag geluncht, vriendelijke bediening en heerlijk broodje zalm gehad, top👍👍👍

Food was ok but I have been sitting here for 40 minutes waiting for someone to ask us for a drinking.

Vanmorgen koffietje met gebakje gegeten bij van Otten. Was verrast hoe mooi het er van binnen uit ziet en hoe fijn je er zit (ronde banken). En bediening was goed én heel vriendelijk. Aanwinst voor Borne.
