Pizzeria Ristorante La Gondola Lemmer in Wijk 23 Lemmer

Just ordered €300 worth of pizzas. All the boxes were flattened, several pizzas had almost all the toppings off them, and the staff seemed irritated. Very poor service.

Overall, it's okay, but not all of the dishes taste good. The chef made a mistake with one dish, and then the manager used nasty swear words in Italian to the customer... The waitress was a bit annoyed because there were several of us there. The atmosphere is great, with an open kitchen.

Make a reservation at the window for 2 1 week in advance, if you get there no we don't have that, so never again there.

The food was delicious! But the service was less than stellar. We ordered bread and carpaccio and didn't receive any. Later, when we wanted to order our ice cream, we had to wait about 20 minutes for it to be taken. But all in all, the food was fantastic. It was our third time there.

When we arrived, there was a table for two available, and we were able to sit down right away. However, we then had to wait 20 minutes to order our drinks. Another 20 minutes later, we called a waiter so we could order our food, even though four waiters were standing around chatting instead of serving us (there were 5-8 waiters milling around). Others who arrived shortly after us had already finished eating, and we hadn't even gotten our food yet. While our plates were being cleared, I asked the waiter to bring us the bill. After 10 minutes, we had to ask again. The drinks and pizzas we ordered arrived very quickly (so it wasn't too busy). The pizzas were still very tasty.

Every year we come on holiday to Friesland and we have to eat here at least once, the tastiest pizzas in the Netherlands.

After a previous very positive experience, we returned to La Gondola, hoping to have a similar one. We had to wait a long time for our main course. When we pointed this out after over 40 minutes, our delicious steaks arrived within two minutes. After enjoying the chefs' hard work, we were eager to pay—and again, we simply had to wait. When the bill was presented, they ignored our earlier comments. Only after explicitly requesting them did they offer a half-hearted apology, followed by a firm statement that they were unwilling to accommodate us. In short: qualified chefs, an extensive menu, delicious food—but the service left a lot to be desired. After this service, I have no intention of returning to La Gondola in Lemmer.

Pizza and pasta are simply great!

It's one of our favorite restaurants! There's always a nice atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service!

Unfortunately, I would not recommend it, even though the food and atmosphere were OK! There were six of us there and we had made a reservation in advance. The outside area was full and there seemed to be enough waiters for the outdoor dining - but they were, I have to say, completely ignorant of us. We waited almost 90 minutes for the starter (2x bruschetta), during which time our drinks ran out and even though we could see that all our glasses were empty, we had to ask twice if we could order something else. That was basically the end of the evening for me! I can understand if it's busy, but I wished for more proactive communication with the guests! It didn't get any better after that; the main course arrived after almost two hours, we weren't asked for coffee or dessert and practically had to beg to finally pay - we had already been standing next to our chairs for 20 minutes, which apparently no one thought was strange!

There's a large selection of pizzas and pasta. The ambiance is wonderful, right on the water. Servers came frequently, so there was always something to drink, and communication in German was easy. It was also possible to take away leftover food and dessert. There's also perfume in the restrooms, which smelled nice.

Very nice pizzeria, probably nicest restaurant we tried in Lemmer. Friendly staff , very nice and stylish interior and incredibly big selection of pizzas.

The location looks very nice, and so does the food, but unfortunately, the gluten-free products aren't available. It's very obvious that this is a ready-made product; we're used to Schär's ready-made pizza base. It initially looked appetizing, but unfortunately, we quickly realized it wasn't homemade dough. It's a shame; they should have written something like that on the menu or mentioned it when ordering. By the way, I also got a stomach ache afterward; I think they don't follow the "guidelines" for preparing and serving gluten-free food. We reported the criticism to the waitress and were fobbed off with a "Oh, sorry."

Sorry, but I've never had such tasteless pasta. Number 52. The amount for the price is also meager, thankfully so in this case. This was the first time, but unfortunately, the last. Today, July 2025, we sat down on the patio. The staff were busy with themselves. They didn't bother taking orders. We went to the neighbors', where we were helped within 20 seconds.

Highly recommended, large selection of high-quality and very unusual pizzas.

We were at La Gondola in July 2025. If you don't make a reservation, it's almost impossible to get a table outside in nice weather. But that's ultimately a good thing for the restaurant. Four of us had sole, pasta, and pizza. Everything was truly delicious. Even though it was busy, the wait for the food was absolutely reasonable. A well-structured restaurant with an incredibly large selection of dishes. We'd be happy to return. What surprised us most was that you wouldn't expect the size of the interior from the outside.

Bad experience – never again! I was in the mood for the shrimp spice with baguette as a starter and the mussels pan as a main course, but what a disappointment… Not only was the service bad and we had to wait a very long time, but to make matters worse I got food poisoning after I got home. After contacting the restaurant, I got zero cooperation. They immediately denied that it could be their food, without any interest or responsibility. Very unfriendly to customers and totally unprofessional.

If the dirty table outside isn't wiped down for new guests, and the cutlery isn't complete, one star for service is still too much. The ambiance by the water is good, but the pizzas (vegetarian) were a disaster. It would have been nice if there wasn't a whole piece of broccoli on the pizza, and the rest of the vegetables were very roughly chopped and tasted the worst I've eaten in a long time. One star is still too much for that.

Please read it!!! What a waste of time. Pizza was dry and tasteless. The pasta had the consistency of cheap ravioli from a can. The sauce was just greasy. Dessert was ice cream with fruit. You can't make ice cream that bad. And the fruit tasted like it came from a can. That's not all. Even though the waiter practically poured the whole ice cream with fruit over us (which of course ruined the evening as we looked like we'd been in a tomato fight), they replaced our spilled drinks. OK, the Heineken 0.5 turned into a Heineken 0.3 but it doesn't matter. I would never have thought they would charge us for that. The only thing is the stain on the fleece jacket won't come out and that cost 150 EURO but it doesn't matter. We were forced to pay in full under threat of violence. Worse than at the Ma...a. I'm 2 meter tall and have a black belt in karate but the way they treated me...!! Man, we wanted a vacation and a nice meal, but I've never encountered anything so negative (food, service, and tolerance for violence) - and I've seen a lot. Never again Holland - a shame, but that's enough for now. Shock! This was by far the worst restaurant I've ever visited. This has nothing to do with customer-friendly gastronomy. As the owner (luckily I'm not), I would be deeply ashamed and sink into the ground. In the long run, fairness and loyalty always win. Fortunately, and that's why I wish you all the best for the future - I don't see any rosy times ahead, sorry... No consideration, no understanding, nothing!! What kind of people are these? Do you want to support them?

Large, established pizzeria with outdoor seating right on the water. Upon entering the interior, we had to compete with the staff (three joking people without food or drinks) pushing our way out without any attention. Inside, after standing around for a minute, the bar staff showed us a table further back. The table was set for five, just the two of us. The excess cutlery remained on the table the entire time. The menu is very extensive, and the choice landed on pizzas. These were ready faster than the ordered drinks were delivered: top-notch pizzas, mediocre drink service. To finish, we each ordered a double espresso. While we were enjoying our food, the water glasses were cleared away with leftovers: what a shame! During our visit, we interacted with four service personnel: ordering, drinks, food, and taking the cash. We gave the cashier a tip, hopefully they'll split it up...

Cozy and very spacious. Even large groups can easily eat there

Last night I ordered spinach lasagna. There was so much liquid in it that it was more like soup than lasagna. I asked the employee if this was supposed to be the case and she said that there was a lot of liquid in it. My wife did not eat the lasagna. No apology, no quick alternative offered and just charged.

Stopped here after a strenuous day of sailing. The pizzas are huge and delicious. We'll be back when we're in the area again.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Wir hatten Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Dessert. Als Hauptgericht Branzino. Der war etwas übergar aber dennoch geniessbar. Der Hinweis an den Kellner hat dieser überhaupt nicht zur Kenntnis genommen. Sehr schade und eigentlich inakzeptabel. Fazit: Essen gut jedoch Customer Centricity sollte mehr gelebt werden.

De ravioli van mijn vriendin was koud en rauw. Ook zat er teveel vocht op het bord, alsof het is opgewarmd in de magnetron. Het duurde ongeveer 10 minuten voordat er een medewerker van de bediening beschikbaar was. Nadat we haar hierop aanspraken, liep ze met het bord naar de keuken om vervolgens terug te komen met de mededeling dat de ravioli hard was, doordat het was afgekoeld. Dit vonden wij een vreemde opmerking, omdat het gerecht al lauw werd geserveerd. Daardoor zijn we hier ook verder niet op ingegaan. Jammer dat de avond zo is gelopen. We hadden wat eerder TripAdvisor moeten checken. Aangezien er in het afgelopen jaar meerdere negatieve recensies zijn.

No, I can't. We ordered three pizzas. When they arrived, they were only lukewarm. Bad for one that big. Halfway through, it was cold. All three of us were disappointed! And the taste wasn't great either. The cutlery was old, worn, and bent! The napkin stank! The waitress didn't understand and tried to tell us it was because of our order. The toppings were to blame! Not again! That's for sure. Very disappointing.

Delicious pizza with organic base

Ate with a large group (12p). Excellent service. Pasta was on the bland side. Portion sizes varied considerably per dish, which was strange to see. Pizzas were fine. One person with allergies in the group, no problem, also plenty of choice and taken seriously - correct service. Very nice.

The young serving staff is very attentive and the food was delicious. They paid close attention to whether people still had something to drink and asked if everything was to their liking. Been here a while ago to eat something and the atmosphere has actually remained the same. The reception was somewhat chaotic and someone pointed us to a section to find a spot there. In my opinion, it would have been more customer-friendly to walk a bit further along. The order of the order (starter and main course) was wrong, but that was quickly corrected. We would recompose the dishes, receive them later. No idea whether that was the case or whether the dishes that were brought later were warmed up. I wouldn't care because throwing food away is a waste. I think the prices are fine, and payment is made at the table. Ideal because that way you don't get any blockages in the passage(s). I read that some people had intestinal problems after eating some dishes. Perhaps they are sensitive to olive oil or something? We had and have no problems. And we could take what was left with us. In this case a piece of pizza. We had a nice and pleasant evening. The noise was not too bad, except for the occasional loud laugh or conversation. The activity in the centrally located open kitchen is reasonably easy to follow, sometimes the funny conversations can be overheard. And I thought I saw Pipi too. The tip for people who are going to this restaurant for the first time is to make a reservation and not follow the navigation to the restaurant but to an exit earlier or later, or to nearby parking spaces.

Great location, very good food, but the waiters need a lot of improvement. A restaurant doesn't survive on serving food, but on revenue. If you call the waiter three times to serve coffee, but they keep delaying, you end up paying without coffee and dessert. It's your own fault. You even have to chase them to pay. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Na een mooie dag tijdens het Italiaanse Smaakevenement bij kasteel de Haar wilden we graag in stijl afsluiten. De eerste keus, restaurant Lenna in Lemmer was, vanwege een besloten party, niet beschikbaar. Dus naar nummer twee “la Gondola”. Mooi restaurant. Groot met een open keuken midden in de zaak. Heel veel personeel en dat maakte in en rond de keuken wel lawaaiiger. Steeds weer iemand anders van de bediening die langs kwam. Het vrouwelijk personeel heel vriendelijk. Dat kon niet gezegd worden van de mannen die nogal kortaf waren . Meerdere keren werd ons dezelfde vraag gesteld omdat er niet iemand vast toebedeeld was aan onze tafel. Ok. Maar het gaat tenslotte om het eten, een Italiaans restaurant met zo te horen ook Italianen in de keuken. Dat zou toch de Italiaanse smaak en keuken moeten kennen. We namen vooraf een antipasti misto. Wat een afknapper, stokbrood met iets wat volgens mijn bij de Lidl gehaald was. Ik herkende de vleeswaren en de gorgonzola, hetzelfde wat bij mij thuis in de koelkast ligt. En dat werd geserveerd met een gesneden Franse baguette. Lekker vers, met een overbodig kontje, maar totaal niet Italiaans. Geen bruschetta’s , pesto of tapenades. Goedkope vleeswaren, wat rucola en een paar olijven, volgens mij ook van de Lidl. Dan de pizza’s, mijn vrouw nam de specialiteit van de dag, en ik moet toegeven een mooie pizza met een mooie grote bol burrata. Zij was erg tevreden. Ik had een pizza Mafiosa, met diverse kazen, champignons, peperoni en ossenhaas. Uitgeserveerd werd een pizza afgedekt met een bolognese saus ( ook van de Lidl?), waaronder schijnbaar de andere ingrediënten lagen. Niet te zien of te vinden. Tot overmaat van ramp bleek deze hoop bolognesesaus rechtstreeks vanuit de koeling op de pizza uitgestort. Navraag maakte dat het geheel nogmaals de oven inging en ik een lauwwarme pizza kreeg uitgeserveerd. De verschillende smaken op deze pizza waren helaas niet meer herkenbaar, het was bolognese saus voor en na. Ook de ossenhaas was haar malsheid verloren, het was een troosteloos lapje vlees. En de peperoni, o ja, die vond ik op het laatst ook nog. Ook die herkende ik van de Lidl. Ik wil niet afgeven op de Lidl, tenslotte heb ik hun producten ook thuis. Maar mensen van La Gondola, uit eten in een italiaans restaurant. Dan verwacht ik wat anders, verse ingrediënten en de echte smaak van Italië. En dat zouden de Italiaanse koks in de keuken toch moeten weten

Una pizza italiana fatta da italiani : buona Un bel ristorante sul canale, da fuori non te lo aspetti , dentro è ampio e comodo. Basta la scelta delle pietanze , 100 le pizze .. ottima qualità degli ingredienti, buona cottura, insomma buona. Anche i primi , vari e di qualità. Un bel ristorante italiano con cucina a vista, pizzaioli e cuochi italiani. Ottima scelta.

Wat ontzettend jammer. Kwaliteit van ravioli gelijk aan lidl. Het moest stoofvlees zijn, maar ondefinieerbare inhoud. Tomatenpuree rechtstreeks uit blikje, lauwwarm. Niet mooi gepresenteerd was alleen Ravioli in tomatenpuree. De caprese salade tomaat met mozzarella was ook slecht. Tomaten kwaliteit slecht, waren hard en smaakloos. Mozzarella ook niet lekker. De pasta met vis was goed, maar ook niet warm. Wel gezellig aan water, maar voor lekker eten ben je hier niet op de juiste plek.

The service was outstanding — very friendly and incredibly attentive. Without even asking, they brought us a pizza box to take leftovers home, which we really appreciated. What a varied menu! Delicious food. It is quite busy here, even on a Monday, but that is understandable given the tasty dishes and beautiful location. I chose the risotto with asparagus and salmon, unfortunately not in the photo, which was delicious! (Seasonal card)

Vi svängde in i Lemmer kl.21.20 på Påskdagen och då hade typ alla restauranger stängt köket (helt rimligt). Men byn var underbart vacker i skymningen så vi frågade om det fanns någon restaurang som hade öppet. De skickade oss till La Gondola, och vi tänkte: ”ok, pizza duger, vi måste äta”. Döm om vår förvåning när det första bordet vi ser har färska musslor till sin pasta?! Det visar sig att på menyn står havsabborre med sparris, hollandaise och de obligatoriska pommes fritesen, samt risotto med sparris och rökt lax! Fantastiskt! Personalen var vänliga och hjälpsamma, och Tiramisun med glass till efterrätt var en av de bästa jag ätit, inklusive flera i Italien. Kan varmt rekommenderas!

No experience with the pizza, but would not recommend the ravioli risotto and especially lasagna spinaci. Both completely tasteless, the lasagna was even ice cold in some parts. Apparently just heated up in the microwave. We were asked twice if we liked it and twice stated that it did not, also at the checkout. Nothing was done about this, just an apology. Very unfortunate.

Pasta besteld met gorgonzola, maar extreem heftig. Kaas niet gesmolten , klonten nog zichtbaar en enorm heftig qua smaak. Dit aangegeven hij het personeel, maar geen oplossend vermogen vanuit Gondola. Je wil toch dat je klanten met een goed gevoel de deur uit gaan? Wij komen niet weer.

I was disappointed with my experience. The food was very greasy and the service took a long time. The pizza was soggy, which made it unpleasant. I expected more and hope they can improve their quality and speed.

Het gastvrijheid komt niet in de vocabulaire voor. Ober spreekt geen Nederlands. Ober is de keizer en de klant een ondergeschikte die blij moet zijn dat hij /zij mag komen eten. Dit heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt. Zeer slechte bediening. Vraagt 4 keer binnen een halve minuut, drink, terwijl je nog de drankkaart aan het lezen bent. Vervolgens worden we volledig genegeerd. Zelfs andere klant waarmee hij zeer vriendschappelijke aan het praten is, moeten hem er op attenderen dat we iets willen bestellen.
