On Tuesday, we enjoyed a nice beer in this cozy pub. On Thursday evening, the staff only paid attention to the visitors on the terrace. Inside the pub, you received no attention, even though the staff kept walking past. After waiting fifteen minutes for service, we left.

The very best specialty beer café in Almelo

Our first discovery in Almelo and it was immediately a great one: a delicious selection of over 100 beers. There were a few gems among them. We will definitely be back to sample more. A lovely old pub with regulars you can just pull up a chair with. A terrace by the water where you can also rent a canoe.

Service is good. It's been different in the past. Duvel, judge the foam head for yourself. I thought it was too much; it was a bit stiff.

The Proeflokaal België is a great pub with a great atmosphere. The enormous selection of beers is particularly impressive – there's something for everyone here. The staff is attentive and friendly. It's also nice that, even in October, you can sit outside at lunchtime, enjoy the sun, and drink a delicious beer. The prices are generally reasonable, even if they've gone up a bit – like everywhere else. The Bourgogne bread platter is too expensive at €17. The cheese was far too old (too hard and dry), as was the salami. The large nutshell bowl could be smaller. Highly recommended, fun, and tempting to return.

It takes them a while to see you... maybe because I'm not Dutch... but in the end you're certainly extremely satisfied. Choosing a brewery is extremely difficult... there are 15 beers on tap and over 100 in bottles... the atmosphere is very characteristic and the outdoor area is wonderful... facing the canal... the water gives a sense of peace... but it's hot and there's still too much sun so I prefer to sit inside... I don't smoke and I don't like having smokers around. I only ate the bitter ballen, which I love. I have to try some of the dishes... they must be really good. It's a nice place... with fair prices and a very friendly atmosphere... I really enjoy coming to enjoy a nice cold Duvel on tap. Definitely a very nice and characteristic pub for Almelo.

Well the staff there is really super nice and friendly and yes the atmosphere is also great and you can sit there by the water or upstairs under the canopy so really nice nothing wrong with that I will go every week from now on so I would say come there for a beer or something else to drink of course but really recommended but I have not eaten there yet so I can't judge that 😉👍🏻🍀

Spend a night in Almelo and recommended by the House of Detention to take a look here. Had a delicious meal with Formula 1 on the TV. Nice drinks, nice guests and friendly and pleasant staff! We had a very nice evening and will definitely come back!

Rustic location with a large beer garden which is located directly on a canal that flows through Almelo. Large selection of Belgian beers. 15 specialty beers are always on tap and these change daily. Fast and friendly service. Price/performance ok. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food. But what I saw looked very good.
