Proeflokaal Dampegheest is a brewery with a lovely bistro where you can prove typical beer. It is the best place to drink a beer and have a chat after visiting the Hortus Bulborum. We tried the Alkmaars Blondje and the Bekem Licht Gerookt Amberbier - both were delicious.

As a special beer lover, I was already familiar with the brewery and it has been one of my favorites from the start, with delicious fours such as Alkmaar blondje and heavy bastard. The tasting room is beautiful on the outside, a classic school building, but unfortunately on the inside and boring. Was hoping for a little more atmosphere and coziness. Compared to the current standard of tasting rooms and beer cafes, some renovation could be done.
