A very atmospheric restaurant with many wooden elements, thanks to the watermill. You can dine outside, inside, or upstairs. It's beautifully situated in the old village along the water. The menu is simple but diverse, which I appreciate. The food itself is delicious and more than enough. The service was very friendly and helpful! The prices are reasonable. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

Nice place, but the cake is so small that you have to search for your plate. Especially considering the price I'm asking.

We were on holiday, so there were fewer staff. They told us it might take a little longer for us to receive our order. But it was perfectly fine. The food was delicious.

Wat een prachtige locatie. Fijn om binnen te zitten voor een borrel met borrelplank of diner. Het was een warme dag. Wij zaten buiten op het gezellige terras onder de bomen. Genoten van een zelf gebrouwen biertje en een lokaal wijntje. Ook het diner was uitstekend. Wij hebben gekozen voor een burger. Ook een dikke pluim voor de medewerkers. Een gastvrij ontvangst. Vlotte bediening. Ze kwamen regelmatig langs of alles naar wens was. Wij hadden een een top avond. Bedankt!

Great location and nice atmosphere. Great choice on the menu and the beer menu has a variety of toppers. The customer profile is diverse and fortunately not just "grey is on a trip" with an electric bike. The owner's son serves well and knows the pappenheimers.

We are here very often! Always delicious food and great staff. Especially when you have to eat gluten-free, you have a lot of choice here. For lunch I usually have the chicken salad and in the evening the curry with chicken. Very tasty, always on the table quickly and a great port. Highly recommended for a cozy meal. Nice seating both outside and inside. We are fans!!

The most beautiful part of Borculo can be found at the old (water) mill. A working piece of history with a great ambiance. While enjoying the delicious recipes, you can enjoy the surroundings. On the terrace you look over the neatly trimmed terrace to the water feature. The clatter of the mill releases the nostalgia in every person! The menu includes many types of beer and sufficient tasty treats. The regional platter and the bitterballen are of good quality and keep everyone on weight. The only point for improvement is the amount of sauce in a too small container; fortunately the neat service knows the wishes of the permanent servants.

Locatie is mooi, aan het water met draaiende molen, maar het eten ‘s’ avonds is echt niet goed. Voorgerecht weinig werk van gemaakt en de biefstuk was taai. Zonde van het geld.

Very rude owner, I kindly asked the waitress if it was a problem that my bicycle was at the edge of the terrace (it was not busy and I had seen that it was not actually allowed), after which she went to ask. Then I was chased off the terrace by the owner with a wave of his arm, without even saying hello. It's a shame that the negative stories about this place turn out to be true because the location is beautiful. However, this owner makes it very easy for the neighbors at the Olliemőlle, because you can walk to their terrace without any problems. Where the owner understands very well what hospitality is.

Wat een gastvrijheid bij Proeflokaal01! We kwamen er om een kopje koffie te drinken. Dat kon buiten op het terras in de zon. Leuke gastheer, spontaan en gastvrij. De volgende dag zijn we teruggegaan om te dineren. Dat was boven in een heel sfeervol restaurant waar je de watermolen ook ziet draaien. Eten was erg lekker en deze locatie kunnen wij iedereen aanraden!

The Tasting Room was chosen for lunch, which was not known until now. They have just opened when we arrive so the restaurant is still empty. The authentic atmosphere of the watermill is warm and pleasant. The welcome is enthusiastic and friendly. A downside are the tables, which are designed for 6 or more people. So if you come with less, you will sit at the table with 'others' when it is busy. We order a Reuben and Foccacia sandwich with Mortadella for lunch and wait with a Cappuccino and tea. The Reuben is well filled with Pastrami, sauerkraut and melted Guyère. A very tasty and surprising combination. My table companion is also enthusiastic about her richly filled Foccacia with, among other things, Mortadella, Burrata, dried tomatoes. All in all a delicious lunch in pleasant surroundings.

Beautiful location. Restaurant is in an old still operating water powered mill. Very enthusiastic owner who also runs the local brewery ‘Heeren van Borculo’. Beers for sale at the restaurant. Great terrace!

Being served raw meat and waiting 1.5 hours, completely uninterested staff, very young and an arrogant owner, that was the way it should be. As can be read in several reviews, nothing is done with it. Sad and disappointing. V.d.Ambiance alone won't make it. Which is beautiful. A lot can happen at this company, good staff and especially a good chef. Thinks a little too highly of himself.

Been there a few times and always feel like going there again. Location is unique. Controls and map fine. Owner has a lot of passion for his business!!

Beautiful location, nice terrace, excellent service. We drank coffee/tea with cake. It was fine (not the tastiest as promised) but we thought it was a good price of €7.50 / €6.50 and €5.50 for a (small) piece of cake.

Delicious food. Home brewed draft beer is very tasty. Regional beers can also be ordered. Very nice place to eat and drink.

I thought the unfriendliness of the service (could have been the owner or manager, given his attitude and age) did not fit in with the beautiful surroundings of the terrace at all. Maybe it was just a busy moment, or something like that, but at least my experience here. For the next time I would rather visit one of the other catering establishments in Borculo; one slow, the other eager.

It's nice to sit in the garden. You have to have some patience. The kitchen and service staff seem to be understaffed. But the wait was worth it. The salmon burger and fries were fresh and very tasty.

Fantastically tasty and special food. It is unique and incredibly tasty. The skirt steak had authentic additions and everything was actually very tasty. The chocolate you see in the photo was also magnificent.

Entourage was super, we zaten binnen naast het draaiende gedeelte van een werkende watermolen, super mooi gebouw ook… Bediening was erg goed (proactief, aardig, niets was te gek). Great accommodation. Friendly staff, I was also a motorcyclist myself so nice conversation. Atmosphere and appearance inside are great, but you can sit next to the water mill.

A top restaurant! Very tasty food in a very beautiful and unique place. The staff is friendly. We occasionally had to wait a little longer for the drinks, but given the staff shortage everywhere, this is completely understandable. Definitely recommended, delicious food.

Mooie ligging aan het water, werkend waterrad naast het restaurant, waarvan je een deel in het restaurant kan zien draaien. Erg tof. Restaurant is erg gezellig ingericht, het is een oude pand met veel sfeer. De mensen in de bediening zijn vriendelijk en vlot. Genoeg tijd tussen de maaltijden die worden geserveerd. Leuke lokale biertjes te verkrijgen. Kwaliteit eten erg goed. Prijs kwaliteit dik in orde. Wij zaten binnen omdat het wat frisjes was, maar buiten zag het er ook aantrekkelijk uit. Mooi terras aan het water.

Nice place for lunch or coffee. Delicious dishes and drinks. The service was still learning but super nice. The only downside was a guest tripped over a loose patio tile and nothing was done with it. I think it's a point of attention. Definitely recommended

Mooie plek voor lunch en of borrel of koffie thee, alles was met aandacht gemaakt, geserveerd en vriendelijk bediend. Er waren wat nieuwe medewerkers zij deden erg hun best. Neem je tijd en ga hier heerlijk genieten. Broodjes waren heerlijk en drankjes ook.

Beautiful historic and romantic location. Delicious beers, tasty food and nice service and owner with whom we had a nice chat! Our dog was more than welcome and was able to socialize with Senna, the owner's dog who is very gentle. Recommended, we will definitely come back!

Ondanks gegeten bij Proeflokaal01, heerlijk gegeten van de nieuwe kaart. De Gebakken zoete aardappel met aubergine was heerlijk en zeker het geld waard! Als toetje een heerlijke Tiramisu gehad en een stuk vers gemaakte blueberry cake!

The finishing touches need to be crossed! Price/quality ratio really not ok.... Throw the menu in the fireplace, change the name (tasting room... pffff) a few good chefs.... and make something beautiful of it....

Had a party last night at this beautiful location. Service was nice and they just had no system for serving the tables. Furthermore, the food was good and the beers and wine were good.

The staff was clearly novice and/or young, which meant they missed important things. Offering drinks, taking cards, the method of serving and appearance is lacking. After clearing the table, we were not asked if we wanted dessert or if we could be helped with anything. We started looking for the cash register ourselves, but that was also a challenge. These are small things that make a difference in hospitality and customer experience. The food was not to our taste. The pasta especially has a lot of pepper. The pepper was so overwhelming that every other flavor disappeared. The risotto tasted mostly like butter. Dishes generally very greasy and contained little else other than the previously mentioned flavors. A dog behind the bar/in the kitchen is really a no-go for me! If this is not possible for whatever reason, instruct the staff to observe basic hygiene and not to eat/plate after petting the dog. And while the location is so promising!

De uitstraling van de locatie belooft veel goeds. Echter alles daarna doet af aan de charme. Het eten, weinig tot niet bijzonder. Geen bijzondere smaak, erg vet, en viel als een blok op je maag. Borden zijn daarom halfvol teruggestuurd. Bediening onervaren en weinig uitstraling mede door de bedrijfskleding (die ontbrak). Menu kaarten die niet worden meegenomen, niet vragen of we nog wat te drinken willen. Nadat we gevraagd werden of we uitgegeten waren, nam de bediening de borden mee en vervolgens kwam er niemand naar ons toe om ons verder te helpen. Vervolgens stapten we zelf op en werd ons verzocht om af te rekenen aan de bar die voor ons in de eerste instantie onvindbaar was. Achter de bar liep een nogal een grote hond die geaaid en knuffelt werd door het personeel die vervolgens ons eten naar de tafel bracht. Erg onhygiënisch als je het ons vraagt. We hadden hoge verwachtingen maar zijn erg teleurgesteld.

Donderdagmiddag hier met 4 personen geluncht, nou ja... iets gegeten. Als 1e de locatie, die is top. Mooi terras bij een (oud) werkend waterrad,hoewel de tafels niet echt tegen regen kunnen, zo te zien. De bestelling: fish en chips.. heerlijk gekruide en gebakken friet, maar de stukjes vis (kabeljauw en zalm) 6 stukjes totaal smakeloos en de zalm was droog. Opgerolde tosti...gelukkig waaide het niet, want deze tosti stopte je in een holle kies. Het andere gerecht, een club sandwich. Hierbij zaten chips, die gewoon slof waren. Om toch nog een beetje een voldaan gevoel te krijgen een portie friet bijbesteld. Was wel een erg kleine portie, maar wel lekker. Ons commentaar bij de bediening aangegeven en zou aan de keuken worden doorgegeven, maar dat was het dan ook. Al met al zeer teleurstellend

Lekkere streekplank gehad, Goed gevuld en lekkere streekproducten! Bediening is helemaal top! Eigenaar kan heel leuk vertellen over deze prachtige locatie!

Wat een passie voor eten en drinken en dat proef je. Super vriendelijke mensen op een prachtige plek aan het water, in een oude graanmolen die nog draait, in het centrum van Borculo. Wij hebben echt een top avond gehad. Heerlijke gerechten en naast een prachtige bierkaart gevuld met bieren van zeer goede lokale brouwerijen heeft de eigenaar zelf ook nog Heeren van Borculo. Het Blond (Sufferd) is een heerlijke versie met een mooie stoot en de Dubbel doet denken aan de geur van stro en biks met een kleine chocola touch. Prachtig!!

Zeer vriendelijke bediening, lekker lokaal bier, en ook de lunchkaart met lokale gerechten mag je niet missen. Terras onder de bomen, het was 30 gr, was een verademing.

Leuke plek, mooie locatie. Meubilair op terras kan niet tegen regen, dat is duidelijk zichtbaar. Is een momentopname, maar bediening is echt niet goed. Als reden wordt dan gezegd 'jonge ploeg' en daar wil ik best begrip voor hebben, maar er zit een maximum aan het aantal vergissingen en fouten die je kunt maken. Voor het eerst sinds heel lange tijd geen fooi gegeven.

Nu al meerdere keren geweest, je zit op een heerlijke plek met mooi uitzicht. Vriendelijke bediening en prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding qua eten.

Een sfeervolle en gezellige zaak. De draaiende molen buiten met de beeldende delen binnen geven het echt karakter. Vriendelijk personeel. Parkeren aan de voorzijde aan de hoofdweg en via de bruggetjes te bereiken. Ook een ruim terras aan de voorzijde. En niet onbelangrijk: erg lekkere bieren van verschillende lokale brouwerijen.

Prettige ligging met originele bieren en lekkere tussendoortjes met de glimlach bediend.

Beautiful restaurant and café! The atmosphere is beautiful. The view is amazing and the service is very good. They know a lot about beer and can recommend beer to your taste. The food was very good but the next time I will come mainly for the beer! There was so much to try from and they have a lot of beers from the region so you get to try special beers. I like that it is very elegant inside and it doesn't feel like a pub. We really enjoyed our visit!

Zeer goed bevallen! Had via reservering online gevraagd om een prikkelarm plekje en hier is rekening mee gehouden. Ook het geluid van de muziek werd aangepast. Het belangrijkste, het eten, was helemaal top. Hebben genoten en ook de bediening verdient een pluim. Zeer klant gericht. Beveel dit zeker aan.

Een top locatie en heel vriendelijk personeel. Een leuke kaart met overheerlijke gerechten en in een mooie omgeving. Het terras is erg mooi en binnen kijk je je ogen uit. Een pareltje in Borculo wat je zeker moet bezoeken.

Fijn een paar biertjes bij jullie gedronken en genoten van een streekplank. Leuk personeel en goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Jammer dat het nog te fris was om op jullie mooie terras te zitten. Mijn vriend en mij gaan jullie zeker vaker zien!
