The food was absolutely terrible. I've never had such disgusting fries. The staff were all 16-year-olds who have absolutely no clue what good service is. Hygiene was also a real problem.

Great food. Varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and you can also enjoy a snack here.

We ate at the Smulhuis twice as part of a walking package. The apple pie was delicious, and after the walk we opted for the "12-uurtje" (snack bar). Highly recommended!

Even though it was very quiet, it still took quite a while for us to be helped. When we finally got our food, the order wasn't even complete. After about five minutes, someone behind the counter said something like there was a system error. Not ideal when there are four people in total. So, one person had finished their meal by then, and the second person's dish only arrived afterward. The portion of fries for two was a bit meager and, of course, cold before the second person got their shawarma. Definitely not the Smulhuis of the past, which is a shame!

We had to wait an hour and a half for our food and it took another fifteen minutes before everything was complete.

Today we enjoyed a walking package at Het Smulhuis in Hapert through Social Deal. We received a beautiful, clearly marked walking route (8.8 km) through a peaceful, green setting. Despite the heat, it was wonderful to be outside again—it felt like a mini-workout but also like recharging in nature. 🌿 Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Het Smulhuis. Friendly staff and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a well-organized walk with a delicious ending. We will definitely be back!

"Het Smulhuis" That was in my mind a good, or rather, a great, "chip shop." Now, I haven't lived in the Kempen region for years, and I thought we'd have some delicious fries at HET SMULHUIS in Hapert. Well, we went, but we didn't really get to eat much. We had fries with satay sauce and a goulash croquette, my wife had a special meatball and a special frikadel, and two cans of drinks... We had to pay €28.00 for that! So much for it. We sat outside and waited. We told each other we'd get our food soon, since we were the only ones there at the time. It took quite a while, and a few customers arrived after we ordered and sat outside. We finally got our food and were able to enjoy a delicious meal. Well, that was a disappointment 😞. The fries were good, but the satay, I think, was too hot, and it wasn't tasty. The meatball special was decent. But the frikadel special was INED. We simply left the goulash croquette there, along with half a plate of fries. What a disappointment, it looked like it had been fried in old grease or something. One thing we know... NO MORE Smulhuis for us!

We were here six months ago and what a difference from then. Service is not so friendly, does not greet and is curt. We arrive very early, at a table. But everyone who comes after us orders and receives their food earlier. Had to ask for a menu twice, even though there was plenty of staff present. Positive, the portions of fries are large. There is a nice play kitchen for the little ones. Normal fries, large fries, 3 snacks, 1 stew and 1 mayonnaise, 3 soft drinks €27.35

It looks like a more or less average large snack bar. But when you sit inside you experience the many advantages of this place: extremely friendly service who also thinks about the children's menu, the enormous choices on the menu, the excellent quality products that we received. This place is highly recommended. And when the weather is nice you can also sit outside!

Since it changed owners, Restaria Het Smulhuis in Hapert has deteriorated in many areas. Among other things, they have changed the range a bit. Namely, healthy Hawaii (stick) bread, among other things, was removed. This was just my favorite order that I often ordered there. And they have also greatly reduced the rest of the range offered. They do lose customers this way, yes. They shouldn't be surprised by that, but hey, it's their problem that customers stay away for these reasons.

Went in for a great burger, great and lots of choice. Nice friendly spontaneous boy who took care of the tables. 👍🏻 unfortunately no photo of the 🍔

Unfortunately, they are far too expensive and cannot make tasty fries. Quality is different every week.

Very bad thing!!!! They pull out their phones when it gets too busy for them, orders do not enter their system, but people have to order and pay online. So in short, you can get your food yourself even though it says online that they will bring it!! This apparently happens more than 5 times a day!! The system is not going to change, they say. But because they take out the phone, you can't reach them if you haven't had your food. In short, don't order again!!

Delicious sandwiches, ready on time when ordered. Last week I quickly ordered a few more sandwiches on site and they were immediately made within a few minutes. Very good service.

The food was tasty, but the staff still has a lot to learn. They paid no attention to the customer at all, we waited a very long time for the menu and had to speak to someone ourselves to order. Then they forgot the drinks and the food came even faster than the drinks.

The food was tasty, I've had better though. I just looked at a messy floor all evening. There were 2 pieces of bread on the floor and a bunch of crumbs. Picking up the pieces of bread is not worth the effort. And you should also be able to use a brush and dustpan for the crumbs. We were the only people in the restaurant, so plenty of time. Furthermore, a very nice tent, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They had to make a lot of inquiries in the kitchen, maybe they are a bit newer, that is of course possible. I also think it's more like laziness not to pick something up off the ground. Someone else will. Just not in this case.

Bad food, fries, I think they had already been fried 24 times, were hard and chewy. we had a large fries and a normal one it didn't matter it was the same amount but with a lot of small old rotten pieces the burgers were decent one was not well done but it was doable luckily we don't live nearby so we don't have to go here anymore. They only added 1 fries to the bill and expected more service

What a delicious meal we had here. We stayed at the Vennenbos for a few days and came across this on Google Maps. The food is delicious, lots of choice (including vegetarian) and large quantities. The staff is very friendly, we will definitely come back here when we are in the area again.

Echt een aanrader top tent komen uit Leeuwarden gaan al zn 4 jaar op vakantie in de buurt gaan zn 2a3x per uit eten daar nu zitten er nieuwe eigenaren in maar het eten en service is nog steeds perfect alles is goed wat je besteld.

Erg lekker gegeten hier! Echt meer dan genoeg krijg je te eten en het is warm ook wel belangrijk.😅 Voor de kinderen hebben ze kleurplaten etc. Wij raden het smulhuis aan om te gaan. Ieder natuurlijk zijn eigen smaak en mening, maar wij zullen er zeker nog een keertje komen om te eten.

Op vakantie in Landal Vennenbos, is kijken of er buiten de deur wat lekkers is, echte aanrader om hier te gaan eten! Cafetaria welke echt restaurant gerechten op tafel zet. Goede keus, we zouden we zo weer gaan eten!
