Everything was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and expertly served, with friendly service. It was comparable to Restaurant Simple (sadly now defunct). We even received maximum attention as the only guests, as almost everyone was eating at home for Easter.

The food was delicious! We received a warm welcome from our lovely hostess, who pampered us for the rest of the evening. Attention to detail, like a handbag stool, makes all the difference in a good restaurant. The food is prepared with care; you can see and taste it. Fantastic ingredients were used; it was a real treat to dine here. It's a quiet and small restaurant, so I wouldn't eat there with a large group, but for an intimate date night, it was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would love to return soon!

We dined here last week on the recommendation of some friends. What a lovely evening! We were there from 7:30 until midnight and had a fantastic time. From the friendly and knowledgeable service and excellent advice on the wines to the dishes: meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. The price-quality ratio is excellent. We feel this is one of those gems that almost earns a Michelin star without being overly pretentious.

Last weekend we ate at Amicus in Utrecht, and let me put it this way: it felt like we were getting a warm hug of delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Everything was just right! We chose the three and five course Christmas menu, and every dish was surprising, refined, and really really really delicious! From amuse to dessert there was not a single miss. The kind of flavors that make you fall silent at the table, simply because you want to remember them. And just when you think it can't get any better... YES IT DOES, then you take a sip of the perfectly chosen wine. That pairing lifted everything to an even higher level. As I write this, I'm getting excited again. The atmosphere? Warm, cozy and informal. You immediately feel welcome, as if everyone in the restaurant already knows that you are going to have a great evening. The owner, who took care of the service, did so with so much love, knowledge and enthusiasm that you would never say that she has been doing this (only) for two years, because she used to work in the kitchen herself. And the fact that she herself worked in the kitchen is really nice, because that way you can ask everything about the dishes. During our visit, between Christmas and New Year's Eve, it was a bit quieter, but I expect that this hidden gem is normally (rightly) full. Whether you go for a romantic dinner, a cozy evening with friends, or just because you like good food: Amicus is the perfect place. We will definitely come back!

Very nice restaurant on the edge of the center. Small and quiet, you don't have to shout with your conversation partner. Delicious. Dishes are prepared with care, hostess is friendly and knows what she is talking about. Clear menu. Excellent price quality.

Well, what does this restaurant want? Only three courses available, small portions, quite tasty, but you'll be out again within 90 minutes. Nothing that really stuck with the meal, I'm afraid. No amuse-bouches or tasty treats with coffee. It's not a night out, but it's also not just a quick bite to eat at your favorite neighborhood restaurant, even then it's quite expensive. The open kitchen is always nice, but it's a bit of an uninviting lightbox. The music selection is also unusual, although totally my taste: golden oldies like Neil Young, quite loud too, just not too loud. We'll try again in a year or so; it could just be us, of course... I read the owner's message below with astonishment. Apparently, it was our fault. At no point were we told that a six-course menu was an option, not on the website, the menu, or by the English-speaking staff. So how were we supposed to point that out? Calling a sandwich an amuse-bouche is a bit much, the bread is delicious, by the way, but it's standard practice at a fine dining restaurant. And freshly baked, of course—I wouldn't boast about that. And that chocolate with the coffee was one of those wrapped chocolates you get at the coffee shop around the corner. We were indeed offered that aperitif; you're used to being asked that question to upsell something. Fine, of course, you can accept or decline. We declined, but apparently it's free. Just mention that.

We had a wonderful evening. Balanced flavors and remarkably fragrant dishes. Excellent service. Highly recommended if you're looking for fine dining in Utrecht.

Delicious food and wines. Cozy restaurant with only a few tables. Would be 5 stars for me if there was just a little more food, for example the option for a 4th course, an amuse and/or a home-made delicacy or something to go with coffee. They clearly have a lot of love for the profession, so I would love to come there again.

What a nice place to be! Good food. It not only looks beautiful, it also tastes beautiful. Carefully selected ingredients. A balanced menu. Friendly and knowledgeable hostess with a clear story. What is particularly striking, in addition to the fine dishes, is the intimacy. We sat there for a whole evening with five people among other guests, but it felt as if the service, the kitchen and the hostess were only there for us. Cheers! We will definitely come back again. An asset for Oudwijk. Finally, try the Raviolo, the chef's signature dish. Truly unsurpassed!

Went here with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day and what a nice experience! The sommelier was very knowledgeable but above all super friendly. The special wine arrangement was also definitely worth it. The food was very tasty, my favorite was the steak as a main course. And especially on Valentine's Day the atmosphere was super romantic :)

Awesome! A high quality restaurant in Utrecht! The service by the English speaking lady was very good. She was patient, gave detailed explanations, used humor where appropriate. Briefly about the food: diamond tenderloin, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Fantastic scallops, very nicely prepared. The accompanying wines were excellently chosen and matched the dishes perfectly. In short, this restaurant impressed us. We will definitely come back!

De eigenaresse (Sophie) staat zelf in de keuken vol passie en probeert het je als gast volledig naar de zin te maken. Er wordt gewerkt met mooie en kwalitatieve ingrediënten waardoor er een prachtig pallet van smaak samenkomt. Een aanrader en wij komen heel graag opnieuw langs.

Heerlijk gegeten afgelopen weekend bij Amicus ! Lekkere super verse Zeeuwse oesters en mosselen vooraf. Daarna het lekkerste voorgerecht wat ik ooit geproefd heb, kalfsvlees met makreel, dille en citroen, en prachtig opgediend. Daarna super lekkere zeebaars op de huid gebakken. En nog een veel te lekker kaasplankje na met die geweldige zelfgemaakte sinaasappeldip. Oh en niet te vergeten dat brood wat ze zelf maken met zoute boter erbij, echt top. Wat een verwennerij allemaal ! En daarbij is het personeel ook nog eens ontzettend vriendelijk en geven goede uitleg over alle gerechten en wijnen. Dit wil je niet missen. Echt een aanrader ! En

Fine dining in een nieuw restaurant van sympathieke eigenaren op een legendarische locatie (L'ami Jac). Heerlijke gerechten met een highlight voor de perfect klaargemaakte, fluweelzachte coquilles.

Voor een unieke fine dining ervaring, ben je bij Amicus aan het goede adres. Alle drie de gangen waren smaakvol met mooi opgemaakte borden en heerlijke bijpassende wijnen. Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en adviseren over wijnen en gerechten indien gewenst. Wat ik overigens ook fijn vind is dat de gerechten niet te snel achter elkaar worden geserveerd en je rustig de tijd hebt om te dineren en lekker te tafelen. Ik kom zeker nog een keer terug!

I've tried out this new restaurant in Utrecht and the experience was way above my expectations. The staff is super friendly and paired amazing wines with the courses we chose. 5/5 would recommend and I will definitely be going again, that pistachio panacotta desert was out of this world. Try it!

Heerlijk eten, de eerste keer vooraf oesters uit Zeeland, ceviche als voorgerecht en super lekkere ravioli met kreeft en rivierkreeftjes als hoofdgerecht. Bediening was vriendelijk en attentvol. Volgende dag nog een keer gegaan en na een vegatarisch voorgerecht (heerlijk!!) de zeeduivel genomen. Perfect klaargemaakt en super combi met tuinboontjes, bloemkool, puree en een krokantje. Afgesloten met een yogurt-ijs toetje dat ook prima was. Bedienng was de tweede ook weer zeer vriendelijk en attent. Gaan zeker nog een keer terug.

Sophie & Jack top koks die, na jaren lange ervaring in sterren restaurans, gezamenlijk hun eigen avontuur aangaan. Kwaliteit, aandacht voor de gerechten gecombineerd met een goed glas wijn is hun levensmotto. Een bezoek de moeite waard voor een gezellige avond.

We hebben een heerlijke avond gehad bij Amicus. We werden goed ontvangen en alles was netjes verzorgd. De smaken waren perfect op elkaar afgestemd en ze hadden een mooie selectie van wijnen. Het pistache dessert was subliem. We komen hier zeker terug!
