Everything is incredibly expensive and the food is just barely adequate. A large bottle of water costs over 8 euros.

Good food and equally good service. We went for a late breakfast / early lunch. Full English and a drink for under €20, can’t grumble at that! Our food was with us in less than 15 minutes and our waiter was a good laugh too! Would recommend 👍

Breakfast yesterday left a good impression. The food arrived very quickly, and everything was delicious and fresh. I'd especially like to commend the hostess: she greeted us in Latvian, which was nice and made us feel like we were being cared for. Overall, the service was excellent and the breakfast was excellent.

Better than expected. We had five different dishes, all of which were delicious. The service was friendly and attentive.

We had to wait 40 minutes. Others who came after us (a huge group, at least 25 people!!) were served before us. Drinks tasted like water. The food was okay. When paying, we had to get the manager because she couldn't give us change. Never again.

We had spare ribs, but they weren't anything special: a lot of sauce, and some pieces were even a bit burnt. I didn't mention this at the time. The service was good, but I wouldn't eat here again anytime soon.

The service was beyond my expectations. In my first visit, the waiter kindly suggested me how to use the salt and pepper tools which I was using it in a wrong way. It’s always nice to get unexpected help in a distant place. In my second visit, the waiter remembered me well and also did another surprising service. I ordered one menu and asked to share for two people. I was expecting two sets of utensils only but we received two equivalent set menu, each in half portion. The tastes wasn’t the best I had in Amsterdam, but the service was really impressive.

Had a great steak and great service at this place! Tico was our host and was very welcoming to the city and helpful with advice for first time tourists. I enjoyed my time at this restaurant most out of all the places we ate on our trip, thank you guys!

For the price, avoid at all costs. There's certainly a lot of meat, but it's undercooked. The fried schnitzel was dry, the sauce pouches were carelessly thrown on top of the food, and the waitress was rude. The toilet was a bit tricky; the handle stayed in my hand, luckily the square side was inside. I don't recommend it at all.

I met the very kind and helpful manager, James, just after arriving rather early in the day to Amsterdam. He immediately made me feel welcome and at home. I ended up enjoying the English Vegetarian Breakfast, which was not only perfectly made, but expeditiously delivered. The quality of the food is unmatched and exceptional. The food was so good, I ended up choosing to enjoy breakfast each day there for my entire week's long vacation. The service there is swift, with impressive precision, and always with a smile. On my next vacation to Amsterdam, there's no doubt that I'll once again be happily enjoying my breakfasts at the Restaurant at James.

The food was fine for what it was, but the prices were extortionate. I don't mind paying high prices if I'm getting value for money, but unfortunately not the case with this restaurant. A very small plate of salmon with salad and fries cost €31. It was more akin to a child's portion to be perfectly honest, and put me off ever returning.

Excellent restaurant right in the center of Amsterdam, with delicious dishes and affordable prices. A superb discovery for eating well without breaking the bank! In addition, the servers are very pleasant. I recommend without hesitation!

I came to At' James with my family for my birthday and the food was very tasty and not too pricey except for the drinks, which were expensive. After dinner we received the bill for €150, a little later the boss/workers came to our table and brought a Cheesecake with a candle on it and sang me a birthday song, I was very satisfied.

Despite the negative reviews, I had good, friendly and attentive service and the food was very tasty. We ordered the most popular dish and were not surprised. The only downside was that they don't serve Coca Cola, but Pepsi Cola, but that was no problem. Regarding the price, it is in a tourist area and therefore within the standards.

There is nothing really bad to say about the food, but not really good either. The orders were placed and the food arrived at a reasonable time, but there was almost no other service.

Great location, and only all you can eat ribs around But ribs are pretty dry and bad taste. Owner is loud and kinda bothers others people around him. Waiter I think only care about new customers to take order but the current ones are not well taken care off. And water is 4euro

My filet was the worst filet I have ever had, I ordered it cooked medium but what arrived was a burnt piece of leather that tasted like gas. I have never had issues cutting a filet with a steak knife but this steak was so tough it was impossible to cut with a steak knife. There was so much sour cream on the potato that is was ruined. My husband enjoyed his ribs, said they had a nice flavor and were tender. The server was very attentive and the host quickly moved the table next to us to a larger table when there group unexpectedly added a few more guest and thought is would be OK to sit at our table with us. I was very grateful when the host came and insisted they move to a table to could accommodate them. I enjoyed the outside seating.

For lunch today we ate 2 menus with grilled fillet and chips: very good! Surprise effect: once at the hotel, we realized that my husband had forgotten his company cell phone. They kept it aside and returned it to us. A thousand thanks!

The service was good, but the food was not. The chicken schnitzel was very greasy and had a lot of breadcrumbs, it looked like a biscuit. The steak was tough and cold, we asked for medium but apparently medium is well done here. If you indicate this, it will be said that this is normal. Definitely not worth the money! 3 hours later, 2/3 people received another surprise, a major stomach ache..👍🏼

Small but friendly restaurant. We sat on the upper level looking over the restaurant, We both ordered Steak with fries. The steak was very nice and cooked as we wanted, the fries wasn’t the best leaving us wishing that we had ordered the Steaks with Jacket potatoes. The tomato sauce and mayo came in sachets like you would get in a canteen which just seemed a bit unprofessional as it’s not canteen priced food. The staff were super friendly and attentive and we were looked after well. Thank you guys.

We went there for a quick lunch and had fish and chips with my mum and my boyfriend had steak baguette. The sandwich was good, but we had bad food poisoning after fish. We felt odd straight after eating it but few hours later it became much worse. The worst thing is that it was just before my mum’s flight back. The service is good, but food very risky depending on what you order I guess ….

Worst experience ever, the manager and workers there are totally racist with us! Saying that we should not go to eat outside if we can not speak English. They started to yell at us just because we wanted to divide the recipe. Totally disrespectful then when we told them to stop yelling they were yelling “I’m not yelling” like how can they threat customers date way. And if were not use to this kind of yelling we shiuld go back to iur country

Friendly and fairly fast service. Food quality was good. On the negative side, inside there is little space between tables, so the separation with the diners at the next table is minimal. We asked for water and they brought us a 200 ml bottle at an exorbitant price.

My sister and I had the Spare- Ribs (spicy) served with fries and salad. The ribs were tender and delicious, and I will recommend to anyone looking for a restaurant in Amsterdam central😊 Faysal, the staff who attended to us was also very friendly. The service here is good and welcoming.

Gorgeous restaurant. The outdoor seating is warm and although it is on a main strip it is very private. The food was gorgeous, me and my partner had a full English breakfast and a hot chocolate every morning while over there and I have never tasted a better breakfast (may even be better than some full englishs I’ve had back home in the uk) Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient and the food came hot and fresh.

The staff is very friendly and polite, the restaurant is small with three levels, it was a quiet night because we went on a week day and it was raining. The food was ok, a bit pricey but I guess is the area where the restaurant is.

Při dnešní návštěvě Amsterdamu jsme se zastavili na večeři v této restauraci. Dali jsme si Vepřová žebra a Jehněčí kotletky. Obojí bylo vynikající a jestli někdy znovu navštívíte Amsterdam, určitě se rádi vrátíme. Chtěl bych ještě vyzdvihnout rychlost obsluhy a milé servírky. Hodnocení z Googlu vůbec neodpovídá zdejší kvalitě jídla. Byli jsme dle hodnocení i v lepších restauracích, ale tohle je prostě TOP

I was eating with 2 of my friend. There was 4 different mistakes. We ordered 3 drinks including a glass of water. We didn't received the glass of water but a lemon beer. 3 medium rare steaks. 2 was way too cooked. The medium rare was good tho. We also ordered 2 onion ring but received only one. I would recommend an order check just to be sure no error are made.

Ich kann hier leider keine positiven Bewertungen hinterlassen. Angefangen damit das uns eine Kellnerin kaugummikauend und lieblos die Speisekarten in die Hände gedrückt hat,ohne uns freundlich zu begrüßen und anzuschauen. Das Essen ist vom Preisleistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht passend. Viel zu überteuert und ganz ehrlich,Salatdressing aus der Flasche,für ein Restaurant?!? Spaghetti Bolognese auf der man das Hackfleisch und die Sauce suchen muss,die wirklich ohne zu übertreiben nach nichts geschmeckt hat! Die Nudeln seit Stunden vorgekocht. Mehr brauch ich dazu nichts sagen. Der Kellner war freundlich,aber glänzte später in Abwesenheit. Jetzt zum Punkt Sauberkeit, wobei dieser Begriff schon allein den Mitarbeitern oder dem Chef ein Fremdwort zu sein scheint. Der komplette Boden,egal ob an den Tischen,oder in den Toiletten war total verdreckt und klebrig. Die Toiletten ohne Worte! Ich kann ja verstehen das in Amsterdam viele Menschen unterwegs sind,aber es war so viel Personal da.....,also warum sieht es bei euch so aus?!?!? Nicht zu empfehlen. Schade das ich von dem Dreck keine Fotos gemacht habe....
