This has been my kids' favorite restaurant for a few years now. They can play and eat there to their heart's content. And the parents are also very well catered for. The chef creates surprising creations. It's always a joy to sit down here. No matter how busy it is, the staff is always incredibly cheerful and friendly, working their tails off. Keep up the good work!

A truly lovely restaurant for the whole family. They're especially patient and kind with kids. There's always something for the little ones to do. They also have attractive deals when combined with an activity. We'll definitely be back! The food was delicious, the service was fast, and there's a beautiful indoor and outdoor playground.

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant with good service

This is an ideal spot if you're dining with children. There's a play area in the middle of the restaurant (and a quieter area for those who prefer a quieter space), so you can keep a good eye on your children. The food is excellent! There's a special children's menu with a fun surprise for the kids.

We had a wonderful meal! We had a really delicious piece of red meat. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, even though there were very few occupied tables. My parents went to the bar no less than twice to order drinks. That's just not acceptable... But let's talk about the play area... because we do have a strong opinion about it. Personally, we think it's only suitable for ages 3 or 4. You climb over a bridge and then there's a sort of tower... but that tower is way too high! Extremely dangerous. Any child under 3 would fall off and seriously hurt themselves. Isn't the whole point of this play area for parents to eat in peace and for the kids to have fun? We had a 3.5-year-old with us, and she had a great time, but we also had a 1.5-year-old baby with us. If we had left her there alone, things would have gone horribly wrong. And we thought that was quite a shock! We just don't get it... why build such a high tower? Why not just put some fun climbing frames on the ground?

We've made reservation for our family- 2 adults & 1 child for Friday evening. + big parking space + nice atmosphere + good food + playground for kids - the playground space is quite noisy for the people next to it - we couldn't order separately ribeye or ribs, only family dishes

Went bowling in the afternoon and had dinner afterwards. Certainly some positive aspects can be mentioned, such as the bowling, parking, and play area. Criticisms include the apparent lack of connection between the bowling and the subsequent dinner. I'm also told you have to book this separately. The portion size of the food wasn't very large and was supposed to be based on calorie intake. The price was on the high side considering what you got. I could have eaten three main meals... The kids thought it was great and fun.

You get a free dessert if you leave a positive review. So take them with a grain of salt. Not exactly honest, in my opinion. The food isn't bad, but it is quite pricey. The indoor climbing forest is nothing special. The outdoor playground is nice, though.

We were shown to our table, which later turned out to belong to another group. This could have been avoided if the man had shown us to our table instead of just pointing at the tables. It's a fun concept. The food is good and there's a good selection. It's also suitable for kids. There's a fun climbing frame in the middle.

The smash burger and truffle fries were fantastic, as was everything else we tasted that week. The nachos were a huge plate full — with meat, two could easily have lunch, and three of us ate them without meat. The chorizo ​​croquettes were fantastic! The kids loved their rabbit pizzas, along with the magical drink and the pumpkin bag — a surprising Halloween party! 🎃 The rosé was delicious, and the kids said the strawberry milkshake was a real treat. 🍓 In short: Restaurant Charlie is a place you'll leave with a smile. We will definitely come back here! 🙌

On the recommendation of a friend, I went to Charlie's for the first time today. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent.

It's been a long time since I've had such a bad meal, especially considering the price you pay. I'll never go back, and that's rare.

Costs a lot of money for what you get.

Dogs aren't allowed in the restaurant, which was why we wanted to sit outside. Unfortunately, we were turned away, saying it wasn't possible. It's a shame, since the weather would have been perfect for sitting on the large terrace and enjoying a bite to eat and a drink. Visually, the restaurant makes a well-kept impression.

We went for dinner for the second time. Just like the first time, my daughter didn't get her meal until 15 minutes after everyone else's. So, forgotten. As compensation, we got her apple juice on the house, which was a bit bland. The food was very bland and meager considering the price. The outdoor playground was nice, but we wouldn't be back for a third time.

Great location, I think the restaurant is understaffed, and the stress is clearly visible on their faces. The food is excellent, and it's fun for the kids to play. So my tip for you is to make the most of it with a small staff so it doesn't stand out. The hostess, who also serves, could also smile more, although I see she's very friendly, but to others, it doesn't look that way.

In summer this is best for you and your child up to 7 years old

The café turned out to be a poor choice. The coffee was sour, the desserts dry. The waiter ignored my comments. The decor was dull. Nothing special.

We ate there for the first time and had a fantastic time. Our daughter played around and then had a blast with the Fairy Pancakes! The food was delicious, and the marshmallow dessert was the perfect finishing touch. We'll definitely be back.

The price-quality ratio of the food is completely skewed. The fries were soggy, the hamburger was burnt in several places, and the pancakes were/seem to be ready-made American pancakes. You could have ordered a piece of meat for almost €40, but we'd already seen that, and it was barely anything on the plates. We opted for a reservation in the restaurant area, hoping for a quiet spot, but instead we were placed right next to the indoor play area, the restrooms, and the kitchen. Upon entering, there wasn't even a smile or a friendly word. Parking wasn't easy either. All in all, definitely not something we'll be returning to!

If you have enough money, you might want to go here, especially if you have four children. Don't be alarmed, you pay €5 for a Coke here. This is really unbearable.

Nice, accessible family restaurant

The playground is fantastic, especially in the summer, but the food was expensive for what you get and not very good. (The hamburger was burnt, dry, and had little to no vegetables, and the truffle croquettes didn't taste like truffle at all.) The food selection is also very limited, and the service was inflexible when it came to requests that differed from the menu. Be careful when ordering cola. You get a 330cl bottle, but it costs €5.

Had a good experience here. Very kids friendly, there's big indoor and outdoor playground and we barely explored everything. Food was also suprisingly good, alot of variety, good mix of asian western choices. Will definitely come back!

Way too expensive for what you get

I'm writing this review with mixed feelings. Food: A positive is that the portions are fine (except for the ribeye steak for 2 people). A negative is that the dishes aren't at the right temperature. The fries were only lukewarm when served, and therefore quickly got cold during the meal. Furthermore, the salad seemed to have come straight from a bag. Furthermore, the "pancakes" for the children were nothing more or less than ready-made "American pancakes" that looked like they had been heated up in a microwave. Atmosphere: The section where we sat looked inviting, despite the presence of a play area. We deliberately chose to sit there because of the children. Service: Our order was taken quite quickly, and therefore served quickly. However, after we had already finished our main course, we had to remind the staff that the ice cream included in the menu for the children hadn't yet been served. My final conclusion: too expensive for what you get, and way too fast to have a good evening. We were all back at the car after about an hour and fifteen minutes.

The price/quality ratio is out of whack. I had a bavet steak for €32, and only got it with a few tomatoes and two green asparagus spears, without any fries or fried potatoes. My dinner companion, for example, had a dessert called Charlie's Camofire, which is 10 marshmallows with some cookies and a little bit of chocolate sauce, and it costs €16. Sorry, but that's ridiculous. It was the first and last time, never again.

The fries were decent, but for €23, the burger was extremely disappointing. I understand using frozen patties, but the quality here was just terrible. The buns were hard and dry, completely lacking in flavor or care. There was absolutely no love or attention to detail in this meal. For the price, I expected something much better. Definitely not worth it.

Heerlijk gegeten! Na een tip van kennissen toch maar eens gecheckt. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en attent. Ook toen we aangaven een andere plek te willen, die wat rustiger was. Het voorgerecht was erg smakelijk en was er snel. Ook het hoofdgerecht was meer dan prima. Geen frietjes erbij, maar die kan je bijbestellen. Met de ruime portie vlees op m’n bord en aardappeltjes / groente, was dit ook niet nodig. Prijs / kwaliteit is in orde. We komen graag nog eens terug. Enig puntje van verbetering, na het voorgerecht was het hoofdgerecht er wel snel, dus waren we met een uurtje klaar met eten 🤭

Meanwhile, there are plenty of tasty options on the menu for parents. When we were there (during the summer holidays), it was very busy, making it difficult to get the attention of the staff. But you can order online or just walk to the bar. Our food was served quite quickly, despite the crowd, but we had ordered before 5 p.m.

It was a really cozy restaurant with friendly service, but unfortunately the meat wasn't cooked through, and we also thought it was a bit pricey. It says there's a climbing forest, but when we asked, they said no. It was a shame, so we wouldn't go back. It was fine, though.

Misleading menu, scam tactics. Menu said “Ribeye 400g – for 2 people – €35 p.p.” Looked like 400g per person. Turns out it was 400g total. €70 for a single steak to share. Deliberately vague and misleading.

The patio is okay, great for kids with a playground and spray park. The indoor area is musty, dark, and very noisy. A shame, because the playground is quite nice. The food is very good, though. It's a shame that as a Roompot guest, you have no choice but to eat there.

We were here on July 13th to celebrate my husband's birthday. There were 4 adults and 6 children. The food was poor compared to the price of ribeye for 2 people. €70 was barely enough for 1 person. The food was bland; everything is ordered pre-prepared and reheated.

Very mediocre. Poor value for money. Extremely expensive for very mediocre ready-made food. Apart from the fries, I don't think anything here is fresh. The pancakes on the children's menu are taken out of a package on the spot, the carpaccio comes straight from the freezer.

Restaurant in the park of Roompot. Reasonably priced. Staff was a bit distant, which doesn't 'work' in the hospitality industry. It closes at 21:00 and at 20:15 you are already asked to order your last drink. Apple pie was still frozen.

We arrived at Charlies and saw that we had to make a reservation. Unfortunately there was no place on the terrace out of the sun, but we could sit inside. Staff is friendly, super nice location, nice water playground to cool off. The snacks we had were delicious! Our 15 year old teenager really liked the floor, the lamps, the play area inside and the plants 🤣

Once but not again Place and facilities are good. Service chaotic and not in order. There was no consistency in the way of serving. Food student-like; price/quality out of proportion. Agreements made are not always kept. Difficult to get in touch in advance.

Niet voor niets om 17:00 gereserveerd – zodat we op tijd konden eten, zeker met kinderen erbij. Inmiddels is het half 8 en zijn de kinderijsjes er nóg steeds niet. We hebben meer dan een uur moeten wachten op de hoofdgerechten, en daarna opnieuw eindeloos op het dessert. In totaal zitten we hier nu al ruim tweeënhalf uur. De bediening lijkt ons compleet te vergeten, er wordt niets uitgelegd of goedgemaakt. Dit is geen avondje uit meer, maar gewoon frustratie. Absoluut geen aanrader. De speeltuin is wel zeer leuk als zachte goedmaker

The location of this restaurant is really great, but the service was unfortunately very disappointing. Just to be clear: the men who brought the food were friendly and did their job well - this is not aimed at them. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by the waitress who helped us. From the beginning it seemed like customer service was not important to her at all. We were never given menus, and the children did not even get a children's menu. Every time we wanted to ask or order something, I felt like we were bothering her. What really went too far was that she spoke rudely to my child and told him to keep his ball somewhere else - completely unnecessary and in an annoying tone. Really a shame how one person can leave such a negative mark on an entire experience. No next time for us.

The place is nice but they ignore the people in the back all the other kids got wings and other stuff but we were in the back and got nothing we had to go to the front to order food unlike the others.So I don't plan on coming back

Yesterday we went to this restaurant with a reservation at 12:00 for a children's high tea and a regular high tea, as stated on the website. Unfortunately, upon arrival it turned out that there was no children's high tea available and that high tea was only possible from 13:00. As a compensation, we were offered a drink and a small sandwich on the house, which we appreciated. It was also promised that we would pay the children's rate for the children. In the end, we had a nice meal and the children played nicely, which certainly contributed to a nice afternoon. However, when paying, it turned out that the previously mentioned children's rates could not be applied after all. This caused confusion and a less pleasant end to our visit. The staff did their best, but occasionally came across as unmotivated or irritable. We understand that things sometimes go differently, but as customers we mainly needed clarity and clear communication.

Walked the trail and then had lunch here, the food was fine, service was friendly and fast. I found the restaurant rather dark.

Outrageously expensive for the quality and quantity you get. In addition, the dessert took five times as long to serve as the main course, the bottles of water had run out, the desserts were served incomplete and the staff laughed after a simple question. Never again.

The restaurant has everything in place in terms of marketing. The photos on the website (such as for the children's menu) look fantastic. The reality is so different that it made it into the review. A plastic 'miracle lamp' and a kind of carafe with green orange juice is the magic potion. Not very magical unfortunately. The food is good, both the vegetarian and meat dishes were sufficient and tasty. The dessert was also fine. Although it was a shame that the table was not cleared before these arrived. Also discussed with the employees, and apologies were offered, but it was clear that crowds had not been expected.

We had dinner here after an hour of fun bowling. Upon arrival the service was excellent. We had to wait for a while on the track because it was still occupied, but with a nice drink the time flew by. Fun bowling was a lot of fun for children (and therefore also for adults). After bowling we went to the reserved table. Even in the "quieter" part we found it still very busy with screaming, but that is to be expected in a family restaurant. Food was served quickly and was very tasty. Then things actually went wrong and the service suddenly became terrible. Waiting 35 minutes for a simple children's ice cream. When, after repeated questions, the ice cream was finally put on the table, it had melted and looked like a milkshake. That was not surprising because the ice cream had already been waiting for 15 minutes to be served. It was not due to the crowds in terms of dining guests because there were not that many tables occupied. I know that it is difficult to get good staff, but at least let them pretend that they enjoy the work. Nice concept, but it still needs some tweaking.

We started with a bread platter and less than 10 minutes later the main course was already on the table. The main course was lukewarm and the fries almost cold (the meat was tasty). I wouldn't have dessert again either. Sorry, but 9.50 for chocolate mousse with soft ice cream, that's really not possible. And don't forget the lettuce that you get with the main course, straight from a bag with a few slices of tomato and red onion.

Rarely treated so poorly. The good reviews come from the cards on the table, which seriously ask for a nice review in exchange for an ice cream or drink. No one received us upon arrival, and during the meal no one from the service was seen to order any extras or drinks. Afterwards there was supposed to be some ice cream in the children's menu, after waiting almost half an hour someone arrived with pre-prepared ice cream, all you needed was a spoon. We had already packed the children, luckily they were allowed to take a packaged ice cream with them. Then ignored at checkout. When we said something about the portion size, an employee told us that "he couldn't do anything about it". Reported that no one came to us during dinner and this boy did not even look up from the cash register. Said something again but again he didn't look up, it was a truly bizarre scene. The food was not necessarily tasteless, but nothing special either. 9 euros for 3 warmed up pancakes, 70 for a small ribeye with some potatoes and 2 mini peppers. The playground outside is nice, but larger and more fun in more places. Never again for us.
