Good food, nothing necessarily special

You have to wait quite a long time, the food seems a bit small, but we knew that from last time, so this time we ordered two side dishes anyway. It was all very tasty though.

It is great fun for little ones aged approximately 3 to 10 to play while the adults enjoy a bite and a drink at the table with a view of the indoor climbing play area. In good weather, the outdoor water play area is a hit with the kids. Dining out around the holidays with family and young children who cannot sit still for long is highly recommended. Just be sure to reserve well in advance.

A lovely restaurant for families. There's an indoor playground and a large outdoor playground with slides, bouncy castles, a water feature, and a water play area. The food was okay, but rather expensive. All in all, it was a great evening for the kids.

Ordered a beefburger with fries. They asked if everything was to our liking. NO, stale, dry bread and greasy, overcooked fries. I left most of it untouched. She said she would pass it on to the kitchen, and that was the end of it. Also, I paid a high price of 23 euros for it. We were there with several other people who didn't think their choice was great either. NEVER eating there again.

Outside it is a lovely spot, but inside it is very dark and noisy. The menu is great, but the service could use a bit more hospitality experience. When our main course arrived, my husband had already run out of drinks for a while. The person bringing the food left so quickly that asking for more was impossible; neither my fries nor my spare ribs came with any sauce. I thought we would ask for it when someone walked by and ask for drinks at the same time. Unfortunately, there was very little staff to be seen, and when they were there, they didn't look around, making interaction impossible. They really did try their best, but I think it was a lack of experience. We ate without drinks and couldn't ask for sauces either; they didn't come to ask if everything was to our liking... but the kids had fun, that's the most important thing.

A lovely place to visit with children; especially in good weather, there is plenty of space for the children to play and for the adults to enjoy good food. Excellent value for money for the food.

Great play area and they serve food there too. If you look at it that way, it is a nice place. If you think it is a nice restaurant with a play area, then the prices and the food will disappoint you. But if you want children to entertain themselves while you eat ‘average’ food: a fine, fine place.

A very nice place to eat if you have children. They can play outside or inside very nicely. Especially in the summer, it is lovely to sit on the terrace while the children play with the water. Wide selection on the menu and really tasty food! The Iberico Ribs are highly recommended; it is something different from the standard satay or burger. Reservations are recommended, especially in the summer when only the terrace is open.

It is really nice for kids. Good view of the play areas. Well-maintained and great food. We had to wait a very long time to be seen by the staff. That was a shame.

Not too great; child-friendly, yes certainly, you have to give them credit for that. But this isn't the place for the food. The starter, the tomato soup, didn't have much flavor, but I thought, okay, I'll give it a chance. For the main course, the beef burger, which looked quite nice in itself, but after a few bites, it turned out to be raw on the inside. Luckily, they took it off the bill without complaining. The spareribs, however, were okay.

I had a veggie burger and it was so delicious, it was one of the nicest restaurants in my life.

Very nice restaurant, with a play area for the kids both indoors and outdoors. On a beautiful summer day, extra clothing is recommended, as they might get quite dirty and wet. The lunch was very tasty and served exceptionally quickly. The only downside is that there is no supervision in the indoor play area, although parents could play a role in that too. Screaming and shouting children do not belong in a restaurant, if you ask me.

So much fun, especially for children. We went here today for dinner. The children had a great time.

Gambas as a starter; I had asked for medium for the main course, but they were quite well-done, which was a shame. The taste was good, though.

Reserved, but wasn't in the system after all, so we ended up sitting in the full sun. We weren't spoken to or looked at, and left because we weren't helped after 10 minutes. I understand it's busy, but a ‘hi’ or a ‘we’ll be with you shortly’ is the bare minimum.

We made a reservation for lunch here this afternoon. After we were seated, someone came over 15 minutes later to ask unfriendly if we wanted something to drink. Not asking if we wanted the lunch menu. After half an hour, we decided to ask for the menu ourselves, but it didn't come, so I went looking for a lunch menu myself. In the meantime, we had been inside for almost an hour on just one drink while it was nearly 30 degrees outside. I had to ask someone myself if I could please order something. Her answer was "I'll be right with you," which subsequently took so long that our party had had enough and wanted to leave. She must have heard that, because suddenly she was standing there. I took our order and had to ask for drinks again myself. The sandwiches were tasty, but the kids' ice cream absolutely did not live up to the description on the kids' menu. I must say that the little one enjoyed playing. But for us, it is not worth repeating.

We sit here almost every week because we enjoy coming here with our children. It was very busy again today, which is good, but a little friendliness wouldn't hurt. There was only one table left, and that's fine; we understand the crowds, so we agreed to that table. There is also a folded parasol that we wanted to move and put back ourselves if it gets too busy. We are with a 2-month-old baby and explained this as well. No, none of that was possible; it's just that table and nothing else. Fine then, we'll drive on and spend our money elsewhere. That doesn't do you credit; thinking along with the customer is also an option.

The restaurant is part of the campsite. It is ideal if you want to eat somewhere with your children where there is plenty for them to do. From that perspective, it deserves 5 stars. If you want a quiet dinner, look for another place.

Very nice location! Lots of entertainment for the children, and the outdoor playground in particular is beautiful and tidy! The service was a bit mediocre. Our waitress came across as very uninterested.

Great place for children. Our little son can't get enough of it. First we went bowling with drinks and snack platters, then we were able to continue having drinks at the table and play, and finished off with a delicious dinner.

We got a spot on their terrace after doubting to welcome us, as it could become busy from guests on their holiday park and after we seated, we never saw anyone passing by our table. We waved, looked into people's eyes for about 30 minutes (actually), but left afterwards. We felt treated with disrespect. I would never recommend this place. Never ate anything here, never got our drinks or the chance to order, and parking was also a bit strange.

A nice place for children to play, both indoors and outdoors. The restaurant inside is very hot and stuffy. Better ventilation would be nice. We found the food disappointing. The lunch menu is limited and the presentation of the sandwiches is unremarkable. My husband had soup with his lunch and we thought a mistake had been made with the serving. It was so little. Literally 2 or 3 bites. He asked the waitress if it was correct. She also thought it was too little, walked to the kitchen with it, but came back with the same small bowl and contents. She said: "That's how the kitchen says it's supposed to be," and put the same small bowl of soup back. If you have to earn your money this way with very small portions, we found that rather childish. Dishes are not cheap. A bit more service makes customers come back. As it was, we found the service very disappointing.

It is a family restaurant, so it is busy with children. Still, there was a reasonably quiet spot for us. They make a delicious Irish Coffee here. The menu was not very extensive, and the specials were already sold out.

Unfortunately, our dog was not allowed in the restaurant, not even outside.

We had a lovely family day, fun playground equipment for the children, and delicious food. And, certainly important, spontaneous and professional staff. Thank you.

We made a reservation for Mother's Day with the kids (1 and 4) and friends from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. It is a lovely family restaurant with plenty of play areas inside and out; the kids have a great time there. The service was polite and friendly, but a bit chaotic. We ordered starters (for the men) and pancakes for the kids, and main courses for everyone at 5:00 PM. At 5:30 PM, the starters and pancakes arrived – excellent. However, the main courses took quite a while to arrive, and after asking a few times, we still hadn't received our food by 7:00 PM. By then, the youngest kids needed to go to bed. Our table wasn't cleared either; the starters and the children's dishes were still there. At 7:00 PM, we asked about the main courses one more time from a visibly irritated young lady, and when it turned out they still hadn't started on them, we decided to go home. So, our ladies didn't get to eat anything. That was a shame. I don't think we'll be going back here either.

There were 5 of us going out for dinner today, we had reserved in advance. It took a long time before we were shown to our table and even longer before we could order anything at all. Changing the baby in the room: the diaper bin was overflowing - diapers on the floor! A filthy and stinking mess! So normally, someone doesn't come to clean up until the end of the day!!! If you have enough time..... the food is excellent, the service a lot less so!!! And for your baby..... bring plenty of hygiene wipes!

After 2 hours still no food, we asked 3 times where the food was and then just paid for what we ate. Very disappointing, we will not be coming back.

Fun for the kids, a shame for the parents. After we got our table, we sat waiting, and after 20 minutes we finally asked for something to drink and a menu. It was practically thrown on the table, along with one coloring page without colored pencils for two children. The main course arrived for three of the six people, and when we finally went to eat after a bit of a wait, we asked the staff if something might have gone wrong. "No, they're working on it!" Eventually, the children got their pancakes when the adults had already finished eating. No apology or reaction; she acted as if it was the most normal thing in the world. It's all very unfortunate, because the food was good (although the portions were small) and the children had a great time!

We used to eat here regularly (lunch or dinner) with our 2 children and have been coming here for over 6 years. The food is still good and prepared with care. The selection is sufficient and the portions are fine. The staff is helpful and friendly and well-groomed. The overall appearance is in excellent order. The play facilities for the children are fantastic, and with the addition of the water park, the bouncy castle, and the outdoor play equipment, it is a lovely place to be, especially with the indoor playground. Because it is located next to the holiday park, there is a chance that during holiday periods, the campsite's entertainment team will be running activities on the playing field adjacent to the terrace. Even if you are not a guest of the holiday park, the children are still allowed to join in the entertainment! If, as a parent, you don't want to go to a typical playground but do want to let the children run wild or simply enjoy a drink or sit on the terrace with the kids, this is the place to be! It is also perfectly fine without children (both inside and on the terrace) because there is enough space to sit far enough away from playing children in relative peace. Just go! Enjoy! Unfortunately, we had a fairly negative experience today for the first time in 6 years. Upon arrival, something had already gone wrong with our reservation; the person helping us only spoke English? I may be at a holiday park, but that doesn't mean I have to adapt as a guest just because the staff isn't fluent in the language of the country they work in. It was quite busy today, but even the orders placed via a tablet went wrong. The starter (which we actually had to ask where it was) arrived almost at the same time as the main course; a bit pointless. The drink I had ordered via the tablet 'didn't go through'? A bit strange. Otherwise, the food was fine; as we are used to, nothing to complain about. The children's dessert also 'didn't make it'; it really is something with modern technology! There was also a very strong 'food factory' vibe today; this is a real shame, but for us, this was the last time to eat there for the time being. - update May 3, 2026 - After not having been there for a while, we went today just for a drink. The atmosphere was much better, the staff were speaking Dutch again, and the overall experience was positive. The takeover by a new owner/management is/was in the works; perhaps that gave it a positive turn?

Nice restaurant for families with children. I ordered ricotta and spinach ravioli, but it looked like a starter because it was so small. I mentioned it and they said they would pass it on, but I haven't heard anything since.

Nice place to sit with children. Unfortunately, the food prices are very high; normally that’s okay when the service is good. Here, however, the service is extremely poor. Understaffed, and the staff that is there don't exactly look like they are enjoying themselves. A real shame. It could have been a nice, good place, but we won't be back anytime soon.

The food last Sunday was downright bad. We had a Charlie's Grill for 2 people and 3 children's menus. The grill was sufficient for 1 person and the quality…. A few pieces of smoked sausage, dried-out boneless Iberico ribs, and 4 pieces of bavette. The corn was dried out and inedible. It is not commensurate with what you pay. Too bad, we had expected more.

We have just sat on the cozy terrace where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks in the fresh air while the children can have a great time playing in the playground.

We wanted to dine at Charly’s with 11 people and chose the “Charlie’s Grill” dish. The website states “from 2 people,” but in practice, it turned out to be for 2 people. This immediately caused confusion and made for a less-than-pleasant start. Next, a pan was placed on the table without any explanation. There were no plates yet, so we just sat there watching to see what was expected. It took a few minutes before someone came by. By that time, the bavette had almost gone cold, simply because there was no plate to eat it on. This could easily have been avoided with a brief explanation. The quality was inconsistent. My dish and my brother-in-law’s were fine in themselves (except for the fact that it was cold), but my parents received pieces of meat with an extreme amount of fat, certainly around 20% that was inedible. When we mentioned this, it was dismissed with “that’s part of the experience.” I do not consider that an appropriate response. All in all, it was quite disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. For that amount, you expect better service, clear communication, and consistent quality.

Nice to visit with small children. There was nothing wrong with the food, but price-quality ratio was just not quite what I would expect. A tip for the menu: I found salads and hamburgers in one section a bit confusing. All in all, worth a 6.

Terrible service across the board. The waitresses seemed racist or discriminatory. We were customers, and it was their job to explain the menus to us. We were with three children, and there were menus with toys, but they couldn't even tell us about them. The children had to go home crying because we ordered a kids' meal, but not the special one with games. We ordered a kids' meal pizza, which was extremely spicy, and they didn't tell us anything about the spice level. Our daughter didn't eat it, and even though we asked to change it, they didn't offer any other options, so we had to pay for the pizza she didn't eat. The place looks clean and nice, but the staff seemed bitter and racist. I don't recommend it.

Very child-friendly, so lots of kids running around! They can play both indoors and outdoors and are spoiled with a special, affordable kids' menu. We spent the money we saved on that on the spare ribs for two, which were very tasty. There was a lot of it; I was full while the bowl of fries was still full! In short, a great experience! If you are just going for a drink, the bites you can order might be a bit on the expensive side (see photo).

We came with our 2 children, one of whom has celiac disease. They have a special gluten-free kids' menu, and the staff is well-informed. They also suggest the safest options regarding cross-contamination. They are very helpful, even making the dessert the same (gluten-free) for both children so they don't argue or the other doesn't feel different! Our magic potion spilled, but two seconds later a new one was ready! The food was also very tasty! A bit pricey, though, but then again, everything is these days ;)

Had a lovely High Tea. Sufficient portions, not excessive, but also a very friendly price. Forgot to mention that there was a vegetarian option, but it was taken care of immediately and arranged free of charge. Fun, and definitely for kids!!!

Unfortunately, the quality of the service and food at Charlie remains abysmal. We visited for the first time when it had just opened and a few times in between. Things just aren't working, and with the same effort, you could put something tasty on the table. Bake the cupcakes with butter, make fresh American pancakes, serve some fresh fruit with an ice cream. It really isn't that difficult, but the commitment seems to be lacking.

What a great concept, and it's super fun for kids! However, a better chef wouldn't hurt!!! The food was definitely not worth the price. In other words, the value for money was really poor. We won't be going back again. It's a shame because the kids did enjoy it. But judging by the reviews, nothing is being done with the feedback. A missed opportunity.

A scream-filled palace in the shape of a restaurant. The indoor play area is smaller than I expected, but both inside and out it looks beautiful. It's incredibly noisy, even in the restaurant area. Kids run and scream there too. So it doesn't really matter where you sit in terms of noise. Even the kitchen is noisy. Food and drinks are expensive for what you get. The Okonomiyaki I ordered had nothing to do with Japanese okonomiyaki. Except for the sauce, it was nothing more than a boring, cold, chewy omelet. Maybe they should look up a good recipe with the right ingredients. The service was fast and friendly!

I had the diamond piri piri, and it was absolutely delicious. The food was delivered very quickly. My son had a children's menu that included a magic potion (lemonade), a magic wand, and a paper elf hat—really well done. Friendly staff. Inside, there's a lovely play area, surrounded by dining tables, giving you a good view of the play area. We were there on a Thursday evening, and it was very quiet, but I can imagine it being unbearable on busy days due to the noise of children playing. There's also the option to eat further away from the play area in a quieter area, so everyone's catered to. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant had activities for children, which was the goal for the visit. But the service was really slow. Cheesecake was very yummy.

We had a fantastic afternoon. We started with an hour of fun bowling. It was especially fun for children, with various themes. Afterwards, we had lunch with the family. The children first had fun playing in the play forest and then enjoyed the magic menu. As adults, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. In short: highly recommended! (despite the bad reviews on TripAdvisor). There was also a wonderful outdoor play area for when the weather is nice.

It was actually quite tasty. My son loved his mini schnitzel, the gniocchi were truly delicious, but so small I was flabbergasted. Luckily we'd ordered extra truffle fries, otherwise I wouldn't have had enough. I also passed on the "complaint." You expect to be "full" for a €23 pasta plate, right? I didn't find much choice on the menu, though, and ribeye and spareribs (it had a different name, but I've forgotten the word) can only be ordered for two people, and you can't combine the two, so two people have to order either ribeye or spareribs. A bit pricey, though. Despite that, the food was still good, but it could always be better. The staff is very young, but friendly.

Went with the kids today. It was a fun climbing frame (although several children injured their legs by getting caught in the walkway). The menu didn't have prices, which wasn't helpful because it left customers with surprises. The food, sorry, but pretty bad. My oldest child thought the dish was absolutely disgusting (requests were ignored), and the youngest couldn't chew the meat and bread from the kids' burger; it was so hard and chewy. My skewer was decent, but very small, and the vegetables were limp. The service (mostly young staff) was very slow; we had to keep going up to order, even though it wasn't busy. When I paid, I was shocked at the amount of money, and everyone was still hungry. Too bad, but I won't be back.

Tom Kha Kai soup without chicken and vegetables? The tenderloin was very salty. The side dish of potatoes was minimal. We were at the park and had a voucher, but it wasn't accepted. For the amount you get, the prices are steep.

This has been my kids' favorite restaurant for a few years now. They can play and eat there to their heart's content. And the parents are also very well catered for. The chef creates surprising creations. It's always a joy to sit down here. No matter how busy it is, the staff is always incredibly cheerful and friendly, working their tails off. Keep up the good work!

A really nice restaurant for the whole family. They are particularly patient and kind with the kids. There is always something for the little ones to do. Also attractive deals in combination with an activity. We will definitely be back! The food was tasty, fast service, beautiful indoor and outdoor playground.

What a fantastic, relaxed, and definitely professional restaurant this is! A colleague of mine recommended it, and we went with the kids that evening. The food is delicious, the kids can play there (burn off some energy), and the staff is friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back. Simply fantastic!

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant with good service

This is an ideal spot if you're dining with children. There's a play area in the middle of the restaurant (and a quieter area for those who prefer a quieter space), so you can keep a good eye on your children. The food is excellent! There's a special children's menu with a fun surprise for the kids.

We had a wonderful meal! We had a really delicious piece of red meat. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, even though there were very few occupied tables. My parents went to the bar no less than twice to order drinks. That's just not acceptable... But let's talk about the play area... because we do have a strong opinion about it. Personally, we think it's only suitable for ages 3 or 4. You climb over a bridge and then there's a sort of tower... but that tower is way too high! Extremely dangerous. Any child under 3 would fall off and seriously hurt themselves. Isn't the whole point of this play area for parents to eat in peace and for the kids to have fun? We had a 3.5-year-old with us, and she had a great time, but we also had a 1.5-year-old baby with us. If we had left her there alone, things would have gone horribly wrong. And we thought that was quite a shock! We just don't get it... why build such a high tower? Why not just put some fun climbing frames on the ground?

Went bowling in the afternoon and had dinner afterwards. Certainly some positive aspects can be mentioned, such as the bowling, parking, and play area. Criticisms include the apparent lack of connection between the bowling and the subsequent dinner. I'm also told you have to book this separately. The portion size of the food wasn't very large and was supposed to be based on calorie intake. The price was on the high side considering what you got. I could have eaten three main meals... The kids thought it was great and fun.

You get a free dessert if you leave a positive review. So take them with a grain of salt. Not exactly honest, in my opinion. The food isn't bad, but it is quite pricey. The indoor climbing forest is nothing special. The outdoor playground is nice, though.

We were shown to our table, which later turned out to belong to another group. This could have been avoided if the man had shown us to our table instead of just pointing at the tables. It's a fun concept. The food is good and there's a good selection. It's also suitable for kids. There's a fun climbing frame in the middle.

The smash burger and truffle fries were fantastic, as was everything else we tasted that week. The nachos were a huge plate full — with meat, two could easily have lunch, and three of us ate them without meat. The chorizo ​​croquettes were fantastic! The kids loved their rabbit pizzas, along with the magical drink and the pumpkin bag — a surprising Halloween party! 🎃 The rosé was delicious, and the kids said the strawberry milkshake was a real treat. 🍓 In short: Restaurant Charlie is a place you'll leave with a smile. We will definitely come back here! 🙌

On the recommendation of a friend, I went to Charlie's for the first time today. The atmosphere was great and the food was excellent.

It's been a long time since I've had such a bad meal, especially considering the price you pay. I'll never go back, and that's rare.

Costs a lot of money for what you get.
