We had dinner last night. It was quite busy, but there was plenty of staff. We had to wait half an hour for our food, even though we'd asked beforehand if it could be served on time because we were going to the cinema. We didn't get any feedback. We asked again half an hour later, but it would take another 5 minutes. Within half a minute, it was already delivered. The staff had no idea what they were talking about. My wife's hamburger was cold, my fries were lukewarm, and the plate was sparsely filled: hamburger with a single spoonful of salad. The rest of the food was good. When we pointed this out, all we could manage was an apology and a "we'll pass this on to the kitchen." Nice place, nice concept, but I'd rather pay €200 for another place where the food is hot and there's a bit more attention.

We were welcomed so warmly by Regi. We thoroughly enjoyed your satay special menu (and we got those super amazing bear socks); we will be enjoying them all winter long. Also, Your desserts were top-notch, highly recommended.

I was there on September 26th with my girlfriend and we had high tea. The service was excellent and friendly, and the food was delicious. Absolutely worth repeating and highly recommended.

I went out for dinner with a friend and it was quite busy. Due to sensory overload, we were allowed to sit somewhere else so it was a bit quieter. Regi helped me in a super, super nice way. 😁

We took a day trip to Burgers Zoo. To round off the day with a culinary experience at a familiar restaurant, we made a reservation at De Beren. Since our culinary trust also lies with De Beren Kerkrade, our choice was quickly made. And that trust was not misplaced. We had a delicious meal, and the staff were friendly.

The door was nice and wide; I managed to get through easily with the wheelchair. The disabled toilet was nice and big, allowing you to turn around well with the wheelchair—very convenient. The food was really delicious and the staff was very friendly. Being close to the station is also nice. We had the unlimited spare ribs on Tuesday. Highly recommended.

We eat at De Beren quite often. But the last three times were bad. The staff can't handle it, make mistakes, forget to ask things, they can't cope. The toilets have been broken for months and look terrible. The floor is sticky. No, not our thing.

We had a delicious meal, but unfortunately the service and speed were poor. Tables were full with empty plates and bottles, and the bread board only arrived after the first course. After sitting for almost two hours, we skipped the main course due to time constraints, and the crème brûlée was not included in the dessert menu, even though it was listed on the menu. We were also not the only ones, as the table opposite us had the same problem.

My girlfriend and I had a very nice meal together. We ordered a share menu (37.50 per person) and really enjoyed it. However, the service was terrible and the staff seemed unmotivated. We waited almost 30 minutes per round and over a quarter of an hour to get our drinks. Also, our entire table was full because the staff didn't bother to clear it. Eventually, after sitting for 2 hours, we told them they could skip the main course and that we wanted the bill. 100 euros for 4 drinks and soup with bread; a waste of money and time.

Very disappointing experience. We waited 20 minutes to be served. The service was poor, and the restaurant was dirty. I expected much better. I would not recommend this place.

I do find it a shame about the high tea that *everything* came at the same time; so savory and sweet, and cold and hot!!

We enjoyed the warm welcome and the humor during our visit. We were well over half an hour early, but that was no problem. We both ordered the delicious chicken satay with fries. And with this dish, we were treated to lovely soft winter bear socks. With a nice glass of wine and a Skuumkoppe to go with it, it was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the wonderful music. For dessert, my husband chose the 3 tasting dishes and I chose the lava cake. We were very satisfied with this as well. We finished the evening with a latte macchiato. The weather was lovely, and we were able to enjoy the satay menu outside.

The food was very mediocre, especially the carpaccio, which was on the verge of being inedible; it was brownish, lukewarm, and almost impossible to chew. The burger was also very mediocre; it had mostly cheddar cheese on it and hardly any vegetables like tomato or cucumber, not to mention the long wait. Finishing your dish and having to wait half an hour for your next course while the restaurant is only 20% full is crazy. Nice waitress though 🙂

The food was delicious again, and I always reserved my usual table, number 12.

The food was delicious, a beautiful restaurant where you can have a pleasant dinner! We were served in a super friendly manner; this young man really went the extra mile. My mother and I really enjoyed ourselves!

The food and service were good, but the waiting times were quite long; I sat for 3.5 hours for a few dishes, so I was still hungry after all the waiting.

UPDATE: I see the owner's response stating that I can send an email to look into a solution. Unfortunately, I still haven't received a response to this to date. So it seems like they want to resolve it, but no, no further response. Disappointing visit to De Beren. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks after ordering. Then a long wait for your choice to be taken. We had bread with spreads and a main course each; we were a little early, so we indicated that they could ask the kitchen for everything at once. After another 20 minutes, we received (cold) bread with spreads (which had no taste). Once that was finished, we had to wait another good 30 minutes for the main course. The Burrata salad was fine, but nothing special. The Mixed Grill was a real letdown. Much smaller portion than advertised, and every piece of meat was a bit off. Strange taste, cold, undercooked, etc. All in all, a really disappointing first experience with De Beren. Very unfortunate.

Disappointing quality. It was a real shame about the food tonight. The spareribs did not taste good at all and were even cold at times when they arrived at the table. A major letdown.

Nice place for a burger and some other lovely meat dishes. Service is sometimes slow but the staff is very friendly. Nice atmosphere.

The food was good; we had the 3-course menu. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes before we could place our order for a drink, which was a bit disappointing. The food was tasty, especially the carpaccio as a starter.

Normally, we are quite big fans of De Beren, but things have been going downhill lately in Arnhem, and today was truly shockingly bad. Since the negative reviews on Social Deal are not displayed in full, here they are: The place was less than half full of customers, yet according to the staff, it was "too busy." The wait time for service was extremely long; we even had to wait an hour for the main course, and only after getting up did things "start," after which a lukewarm meal with a sauce that had hardened by then appeared on the table—apparently, it had already been sitting under the heat lamp for half an hour. When paying the bill, they didn't even ask if we enjoyed it; presumably, the general mood in the restaurant was hint enough of the meager performance. It is evident that they are looking for a takeover by a new franchisee, as the current one apparently no longer has the motivation to make something of it. A real shame, considering this used to be one of our favorite restaurants. In its current state, I would certainly advise against it.

We had unlimited spareribs; the first round was tasty (only the fries were already cold), the 2nd round of spareribs wasn't really warm (unfortunately). At the ladies' restroom, the flush mechanism was broken, the tap was loose, and it was a hassle to get it working. All minor issues that could (should) have been fixed before the restaurant opens. When settling the bill, they hadn't included the fries in the calculation (certainly polite). Otherwise, it was good; friendly service, atmosphere was good!!!

Whenever we want to eat somewhere (in the Netherlands) easily, well, and pleasantly, we often end up at Restaurant De Beren. We have been to places like Roermond and Valkenburg, but not yet to our own city of Arnhem. Now we have! We were with 2 adults and 2 children. The children had a pancake party, which did not include chocolate sauce. But that didn't spoil the fun for the kids. My satay dish did not come with prawn crackers. That did detract from the experience for me. My wife had a dish with beef tips. She had indicated that these should be cooked medium. Unfortunately, they were cooked more than well done. Unacceptable! In other words, all in all, a bad experience... (My wife's dish was removed from the bill, partly because she did not want to wait for a newly prepared dish.)

Although the food was tasty, we had to wait an incredibly long time. It took about 20 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. After that, it took about just as long for 4 beers to be brought. In between, no one came by our table for new drinks or for a new round of the unlimited spare ribs. All this while there were only 6 tables in the restaurant, so it wasn't too busy. Nevertheless, we had to go to the bar or the waiter ourselves every time to sort something out.

We had high tea. However, there were twice as many sweets as savory snacks. I thought that was a bit of a shame. The waitress, by the way, was a real star. She did everything by herself with a smile on her face. I just wanted to mention that :)

Yesterday, I had a lovely lunch with my mother and my brother. I have to eat gluten-free myself due to celiac disease, and this was taken into account really well. There were plenty of options, and cross-contamination was also considered. The food was tasty, both gluten-free and with gluten. We had a wonderful waitress named Suzanne! She is very friendly and hospitable. The overall experience was fun and pleasant, and she was very helpful in thinking along with us regarding gluten-free options. This put me completely at ease, which is quite rare (when you have allergies, etc.). Even though it was busy and there was minimal staffing, we felt very welcome, and she took the time for us. We will definitely be back here!

It is always incredibly pleasant at De Beren. The atmosphere is great, and the restaurants are very cozily decorated. Yesterday, we went out for dinner for two at De Beren in Arnhem. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I would recommend De Beren to anyone who enjoys a bite to eat in a warm, cozy environment!

Definitely not recommended. Waited 1.5 hours for food even though it wasn't busy. The staff was friendly and couldn't do much about it, but the manager was downright rude. After pointing out the problem, they rolled their eyes and offered a piece of cake? This was of no use to us since we had a 3-course menu and half of it was missing before we had to leave. Do not go here!! There are plenty of locations in the De Beren chain that are fantastic; this one is certainly not one of them in terms of service and attention…

We went out for dinner via Socialdeal on July 7th with 4 ladies. It wasn't really busy, but we had to wait quite a long time for our order. "Too little staff," they said. A. Waited over 45 minutes for our starter. B. Main course another 45 minutes, and that's not all; we didn't get the fries. "Yeah, forgot, do you still want them?" "No, we've already finished everything." So, well... I just want to say that too little staff only costs them customers, and it might be a nice promotion, but if you have to wait that long and then don't even get everything... I don't know.

We had a High Tea, but this was a very good High Tea. Super tasty treats and really plenty of them! We have High Tea quite often, but this one really stood out. If I may offer a tip, a slightly wider selection of teas would be even nicer. But otherwise, very good and friendly service.

After a lovely NS walk from Dieren to Arnhem, before hopping back on the train home, we stopped at De Beren to fill our hungry stomachs with a delicious vegetarian meal. We really enjoyed it! The service was also excellent and the staff extremely friendly. And, when it turned out that we had forgotten a piece of clothing in the restaurant after our visit to De Beren, it was sent to us without any hassle! Fantastic, simply put. Incredibly filthy and bad service. Lazy staff, all chatting amongst themselves, while tables full of stacks of dirty dishes were not cleared. It took a long time to order and receive a beer. The burger was just about acceptable, fries cold under a mountain of sweet mayo. Never again.

High tea was fine, but there were a lot of sweet things and few savory ones. Prompt and friendly service.

We had a high tea via the Kruidvat promotion. We were welcomed and served in a friendly manner, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy. The dishes were generally fine, but did not really live up to the description you can read about them online. We didn't get salmon, but carpaccio twice, and that wasn't presented as beautifully as the description suggested. The apple crumble was replaced by a blondie (even though I really like that). However, they did politely ask about my allergy and offered a substitute. We also found it a pity that there were quite basic tea flavors to choose from, whereas Urban Tea Garden has such delicious, unique flavors. All in all, a pleasant experience, especially with this offer.

So I have unlimited chicken skewers and have been waiting for 30 minutes now for 3 skewers with a minimal amount of prawn crackers.

We were ripped off terribly. We had the share meals for 39 euros p.p. It looked promising. So incredibly cheap. We knew they would be small bites... but this?? We were also offered bread beforehand, without being told that there would be an additional charge for it. Which is a compliment at many restaurants. And we were left speechless when we realized we had to pay for that as well. We only had 3 of the 4 courses and had to pay the full price. One of the worst restaurant chains in the Netherlands!

The food here was okay. However, it was quite busy, and it was clear they weren't prepared for it. We had to ask for drinks multiple times, and multiple times we placed an order or asked to order (you can't order from everyone, so you get told: "We'll be with you shortly"). It was forgotten. We also had to wait a very long time for drinks. The 17:15 was delivered at 17:50. The 18:15 could only arrive at 19:10 after asking four times. Tables were also not cleared properly and were left full. For instance, everything was still on our table when the desserts arrived. Eventually, the plates and cutlery were taken away, but the rest remained until we left. This was also the case at the surrounding tables. The food was tasty, warm, and well-seasoned, though.

It was very crowded because of the Suzan & Freek concert, but the staff worked incredibly hard and were friendly!

I have never been treated so rudely!! I only ordered coffee, which took a veeeeery long time. I politely asked another member of staff where the coffee was, but she responded rather nonchalantly. Then she walked over to her colleague and they just complained about us in public.. Truly too awful for words!!! I don't want coffee from people like that anymore, and certainly not food!!! To the managers... a little tip: Just hire friendly staff who actually enjoy working in the hospitality industry!

Ate here today. Compared to previous experiences at De Beren in Veenendaal and Doetinchem, it was a disappointment. The food was lacking in several ways. The bread came only with two packets of butter, and the spareribs with honey had barely any honey flavor to be found. The Kletskoek had been replaced by a small 'Beren' cookie on the apple crumble. But perhaps this is a general change. The drinks were fine. The service staff were friendly ladies, which is a plus. However, despite there being little to do, the waitstaff were not very attentive and mainly focused on each other. In the ladies' restroom, it looked like the toilet bowl hadn't really been cleaned properly for a long time (both of them). There was brown residue at the bottom, which just doesn't give a nice fresh impression as soon as you enter and gives the impression that a quick brush was run over it. The general atmosphere is definitely 'De Beren', which is a plus. I think with a bit more attention it would be a nice place (I'm quite a fan of De Beren), but Arnhem won't be on my list for the time being.

We had dinner here this evening; the service was unfriendly, the restaurant was not hygienic, and there were ants crawling on the table. The food, however, was otherwise good.

It was very busy, but despite that, the food was very tasty and the service good. We just had to wait a long time for drinks and food sometimes, but we understood that perfectly well. We were seated next to the kitchen, but I still think the atmosphere there is a bit less cozy.

We had a wonderful meal and drinks outside on the terrace. Despite the crowds and understaffing (due to unexpected staff absences), the rushed staff remained exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Compliments on performing under high pressure.

The high tea was nice! Lots of sweet treats, but also tomato soup and mini sandwiches; it's just a shame that the crème brûlée and apple crumble were out of stock. So we didn't get them, which we were promised, and we didn't receive any replacement treats instead of the crème brûlée and apple crumble either.

The Crispy Chicken main course contained no crispy chicken, just regular chicken. Both Bear Burgers arrived without bacon. After 10 minutes, still no fries. We pointed this out, and the waiter said, 'Maybe they've run out of bacon.' Okay, maybe this should be mentioned before ordering. Or do we pay less for the burger if ingredients are missing? Probably not. Anyway, we received 2 new burgers, including bacon, this time. Now with fries too, which were lukewarm, unfortunately. One of us had a 3-course menu which was charged as separate orders, so it was suddenly 10 euros more expensive on the bill. What an incredibly incompetent bunch. 1 star is still way too much.

Had to wait way too long for our food.... salad not fresh.... soup lukewarm... No, we won't be coming back...
