We have eaten there many times. It's super cozy there. You can eat there for a long time. We can only say great, keep it up.

We had a delicious meal, but there was a fly in our drink. We got a replacement quickly. Child-friendly, though.

It was, in a word, fantastic. Very friendly staff, and we will definitely come back again.

After visiting the adjacent zoo, we had a delicious meal at this restaurant. Because we'd visited (proved with our day ticket), we received a 10% discount. The staff was very friendly. They were very considerate of the children. They provided coloring pages and crayons, which were provided from the start. There were also games and a play area in the restaurant. The food was also delicious. We enjoyed our meal and had a wonderful time.

We had lunch at the bears last Sunday. I had a good time last time, so I ordered the same thing again. Until I saw something in the food, sure enough. A fly (fruit fly), whatever it was, and later another one, and another one. I reported it. Oh yeah, sorry, that's not very tasty. Would you like a new sandwich? No thanks. Brrr. Yeah, sorry, we're having a bug problem. (HOW?) I'll pass it on... Okay, what else?? I was already fed up. We got to the checkout. Sure enough, everyone walked away, and we could pay someone else, and of course, the full amount! No €2.50 discount or anything. (I don't care, though), but this just wouldn't be right... Ugh... so you're going to eat here!! Be careful!! They know about the bugs, but they're not doing anything about it???

A few weeks ago, we enjoyed a 3-course meal at De Beren with 4 adults and 2 children. It was our first time since visiting Wildlands. The welcome was fantastic. Patricia gave us a thorough explanation of the menu and the composition of the various dishes. The 3-course meal is highly recommended. The food was delicious at a more than reasonable price. We went back the next day because we enjoyed it so much. It's a shame Emmen is too far for us, as we live in Maastricht, otherwise we would definitely have eaten there again.

The service was subpar. We wanted to move from outside to inside, but no one offered to help us bring in the plates, glasses, and cutlery. Having to do everything ourselves, a bit strange? Then the waiter asked an 8-year-old if he'd like another drink (while everyone else was busy bringing everything in), with no adult present. Of course, a child said yes. It was also difficult to ask the waiters at the table, as they never looked. The waitresses were also rather snooty. The restaurant is spacious with a nice interior, including a play area for children, but the poor service will keep us from returning.

Simple but delicious food and very friendly service

Disappointing experience – service far below par We have now been to De Beren in Emmen twice for lunch, but both times we left without ordering anything. We waited for over fifteen minutes, but no one came to our table to take our drinks. That was reason enough for us not to return after that. In the weekend of 28/29 June 2025 we were back in Emmen and got an ice cream at Toscana. We sat down on the wall opposite De Beren for a while, and what we noticed then confirmed our earlier feeling. A female waiter with dark hair and a ponytail was walking around visibly grumpy. She could not smile, she constantly looked sullen and radiated no friendliness at all. It seemed as if she was only there for the money, not for the guests. Very unpleasant to see, especially in the catering industry where hospitality should be central. The interior of De Beren is fine and the location is good, but that does not outweigh the bad service and the unfriendly attitude of the staff. Fortunately, there are enough better restaurants in Emmen where you are helped in a friendly and quick manner - such as the restaurants at the church or at the library. Unlimited spareribs eaten. Really super tasty, literally to lick your fingers. When it was just gone, they asked if you wanted to order more. Every round you had to choose which flavor you wanted. Friendly, smooth service. We will come back again.

Today we ate with an unlimited spareribs voucher. Delicious spareribs. Spareribs are all marinated the same, only different sauces. My favorite is ketjap, my husband barbecue sauce. I didn't like the fries, but my teenager wanted another portion. Raw vegetables were included, but apparently forgotten, and we didn't ask about them.

It was great. I come here sometimes with my mother when there is a Kruidvat promotion. And now also outside those promotions. The store looks very modern and chic. The staff is also friendly. The food is also super tasty, especially the cocktails look super nice and taste delicious

This is a great place for a bit of upscale dining with kids. It has a small indoor playground, something to draw on at the table, and super friendly service. The food is definitely better than at a chip shop, but not pretentious. Highly recommended.

What a great experience at Beren Emmen! The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable - you immediately feel welcome. The food was really delicious, everything super fresh and tasty. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and warm, a really nice place to sit. Everything just felt right. Definitely recommended and I would love to come back here again!

We were not given water with the wine, they said yes, I will get it, then you get a shot glass of water and if you want more you have to buy a bottle even though you already have wine.

We like to come here regularly. Unfortunately this time it was disappointing. Ordered two of the same main courses (Tenderloin tips). Taste was fine, but on the dry side and one had more garnish on the plate than meat. So that's not recommended as far as I'm concerned. Always a cozy tent.

We had a nice meal in a beautiful restaurant and we were also well served. A small point that is not a criticism, but a bowl of raw vegetables would be nice with dinner.

We had lunch here with my boyfriend, I ordered a cocktail, which was brought to me spilled, i.e. the waiter poured my cocktail while he was walking to our table, and they just put a glass on which my cocktail was dripping. The food is not bad, but the service is not very good. We waited for 15 minutes until someone came up to us and brought us a menu with food, because there was only a menu with drinks on the table.

Beautiful and atmospheric location. It is very affordable, especially with the three-course menu. The choices are less extensive than if you order separately from the menu, but it is much cheaper and still roughly 80% of all dishes are available. I still had choice stress. The portions are large and you certainly do not leave this restaurant hungry. The staff is friendly. It did seem to be understaffed, which sometimes made it take a bit longer. But you could not tell from the friendliness of the staff. Our three-course menus: Carpaccio - Salmon - Creme brulee Rib fingers - Spicy crispy chicken - Creme brulee We both enjoyed it. You can choose nice extra sides. I found the chicken itself more sweet than spicy. But the taste was no less. For all this in combination with 3x cola zero and 3x a sprite we spent just over 80 euros (10% Wildlands discount). Really very reasonable.

I had lunch here with a colleague, this was the last opportunity for De Beren to make a good impression. The ambiance is atmospheric, it is a beautiful location with ditto furnishings. The young man serving did a fine job, but the food again left much to be desired. We had a Farmer's Omelette and Loaded Fries, the omelette was lukewarm and completely uninspired. My colleague is used to a lot, but the fries with fish shavings and terriyaki were really terrible. Then coffee with apple pie, coffee good but the apple pie was really terrible, ice cold and tasteless, the worst apple pie I have ever tasted, how can you put this on the table so proudly, do you never taste it yourself? The price-quality ratio is really hard to find. Never again De Beren for me.

Good atmosphere, quick and friendly service and my table companions enjoyed their food. They had a meat dish. I ordered risotto but it was more like thin (!) rice porridge with the taste of risotto. The chef clearly hasn't mastered this yet. Fortunately, the delicious fries and especially the fantastic dessert (apple crumble) made up for it somewhat.

The staff are very helpful. The waitress was very friendly. This can make or break your experience, she made it very good. The food is good. The seating area was a bit smaller, quite close to the walking path.

Had an excellent meal at De Beren in Emmen, I think it's the same menu and the same dishes at every De Beren restaurant, but it's just good everywhere!

Had dinner here tonight with the Valentine's Day promotion. We had a very nice welcome and we got a table exactly where we wanted to sit. The food was beautifully prepared, and in between we were kindly asked if everything was to our liking and if we wanted something to drink. We will come back here soon!

Unsanitary and Disappointing Service My experiences with this restaurant are downright disappointing. I have had lunch here several times, both with my partner and with friends, and each time we noticed that the owner seems to have no control over the state of affairs. It seems like she doesn't really know what she's doing. Although the restaurant has a warm and inviting appearance at first glance, the reality is unfortunately different. Even though there was enough space, the tables had clearly not been cleaned properly, which seriously questions hygiene. In addition, we had to wait an unprecedentedly long time for our drinks, even though it was not busy at all. This shows a lack of efficiency and professionalism. The price-quality ratio also leaves much to be desired. The dishes are simply too expensive for what is served. Moreover, we have heard from several people that lunch is often served lukewarm to cold. We wanted to experience this ourselves and unfortunately we can confirm that this is indeed the case. We also found a hair in our food, which confirms a lack of hygiene. In short, the poor hygiene and the mediocre quality of the food make this restaurant highly recommended.

Took quite a while for the drinks to be brought. Dinner was mediocre...and not worth the money. Service could also be better...customer focus still needs to be taught to the staff. Too bad, the location is great and the atmosphere is good. But I think the quality of the food and the service are really more important.....no complaining on my part, but rather identifying learning points for improvement....good luck.

We were a group of 25 people. We had a nice separate place in the restaurant. The food was served to everyone at the same time. Nicely warm and deliciously prepared. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant, delicious lunch at the bears in Emmen and the restaurant looks neat and clean, the service was good, the staff was very friendly and social and the lunch meal I had was just enough and it really tasted great, it's worth it. to eat here and possibly throw a party, even if you don't know this yet, I will certainly say a round of applause for the chef who made the food and thanked him fantastically. The food was delicious, but the service was less so. The drink took a very long time. Our lunch was finished before we got drinks. The staff was friendly.

Delicious food, attention was paid to us and if we had any questions it was resolved immediately. Great start to the new year.

There were ten of us, including a two-year-old toddler. He still talks about it. Coloring page, play corner, pancakes... without wearing a child for two hours. As far as we are concerned: we had a delicious meal and drank super tasty moctails. Nice table in a cozy corner. And nice employees, who were very alert and attentive. It was a great evening!

We come here often. The service is friendly and the food is top notch. And it is useful that there is a play area for the children. 😀

Cozy restaurant with great service

We had a very nice evening here. It was our first visit. The staff was extremely attentive. We arrived a little earlier than we had reserved, but that was no problem, the service was also great. The food was delicious and they had a delicious menu and fun coloring page/menu for the children. There was a nice indoor play area for our 4-year-old daughter, perfect. It is located opposite Wildlands and therefore a perfect combination. Definitely recommended and we will come back again.

We visited the restaurant with two adults and two children. The food was fine, but unfortunately the service left much to be desired. Upon entering we were kindly received and immediately given something to drink, which started positively. However, after that it became very difficult to attract the attention of the staff for additional orders. Although we were greeted with a friendly nod, no one came, and only after a lot of pushing were we able to place our order. When we finally received our order, we still had to find our own cutlery. During the meal we were not asked if everything was to our liking or if we wanted something to drink. Only upon departure were we informally asked if we had enjoyed it, without paying attention to the rest of the experience. Although the food was fine, the service was substandard. This was also our experience a few months ago during dinner. We would therefore not recommend this restaurant.

Had dinner on Christmas Day with 11 people at De Beren in Emmen. Unfortunately, the service barely showed up and we had to wait a long time for the food and drinks. The risotto was not presented nicely. Looked bland and didn't taste good either. Pork tenderloin was dry. Layout not nice. Ordered a bowl of lettuce. However, it was forgotten. Grandchildren had a great time. This is the only positive thing about this experience.

Food service excellent. Atmosphere is just what you make of it. Some screaming children. But that is a personal matter, mine know that they are expected to behave respectfully. We took the 84plater. Delicious spare ribs and juicy burger. Our fussy eater at the table was also happy with her sliders. Our hostess deserves an extra compliment, excellent care. Has very good timing. Knew exactly when our choice was when we first made it.

Never had such dry meat (loaded fries). Was glad I had something to drink with it. There are many stories going around in Emmen that 'De Beren' is not worth it. Unfortunately, in my opinion this now appears to be true. The atmosphere and interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Only the food is really mediocre. Especially if you have to wait so long for it.

Nicely decorated restaurant. Unfortunately, the service/service is severely substandard. Had to wait 10 minutes for a card upon entry. Another 10 minutes to order and have to approach someone yourself. Food came quickly and tasted great. However, the service did not cover up and walked away immediately after serving the food. Had to chase them for cutlery. I also spent 45 minutes looking around at dirty dishes on empty tables, apparently they haven't heard of clearing anything. After dinner I walked to the counter to pay because I didn't see anyone at the table. A good manager who trains staff and pays attention to these kinds of things is very much needed here.

Nice place in Emmen, convenient next to a parking garage, good atmosphere en good food for a reasonable price. Nice they also have good mocktails, for the non-alcohol drinkers like me. Carpaccio salad is a good choice for main course. The fries have a bit too much spice on them my taste.

Had lunch here. I was looking for some white wine in the glass. Sorry, really sad. Fries turned out to be difficult. They were still raw and limp. I got new fries but then I also lost my raw vegetables. Phew. Croquettes were great.

Rude staff. I've tried several times, but there's something wrong every time. Dishes are forgotten and are not served at the same time. Service is variable and often rude. Usually the food is good, but sometimes ingredients seem to be forgotten. It seems as if the kitchen can't quite cope at busy times. Last time I was treated downright indecently by the staff. Waitress walks away halfway through an order, but when we indicate this, she does not want to be spoken to about it. “And if we didn't like it, then we should go somewhere else,” was literally said to us. So you should just let yourself be treated scandalously without comment. Hospitality is unfortunately unknown at De Beren, you are lucky that you can come and eat there. When we were getting ready to leave, people could at least be concerned about payment. If only De Beren were just as concerned about the guests... A phone call from the manager later also revealed that the waitress in question had conspired and lied to justify her behavior. However, for the manager of De Beren, the customer was not king.

The atmosphere of the jet restauarnt was very nice and cozy. The food was delicious.

Our starter was missing ingredients, half the starters came out and they had forgotten the bread which the others had for starters. After 5 mins we were asked if a waitress had told us she'd forgotten about the bread starter and that it had just been put in the oven. No apology. We didn't make an issue of it as the other starters were cold anyway. That bread didn't come out for 30 mins. Then they served those and a knife fell on me and I nearly got covered in aioli, which went all over my chair and the floor. They never said sorry about that, just wiped it and never came back with new aioli. Then the waitress came over and asked if we wanted more drinks and I said I myself was okay for the time being. She was about to walk off without letting anyone else order. My sister managed to get an order in but then she just walked off. When my mother later tried to get her attention to get her back she just gave her a furious look. Then when she came back my mother explained we had wanted to order more drinks but that she had just walked off. She became super defensive (any professional would have just apologised for the misunderstanding and taken the order) and started getting angry and then said if we didn't like it we could just go somewhere else and said she wouldn't serve us any longer. When I asked for the manager she said she was the manager and would have to look for herself. She then spun around on the spot and when she came around said 'Oh here is the manager, found her!'. Beyond childish and unprofessional. Then when we said how unprofessional that was she walked off and refused to serve us. All she could say is that we needed to pay because we'd eaten a starter. When I explained all the things that had happened at the till all she said that it was the first time she'd heard about it and still no apology. We had to go to a different restaurant! When we got there suddenly the proper manager called us. Only reason was that he wanted us to pay (though they decided to kick us out) and at no point wanted to listen to what actually happened. Avoiding this place at all cost.
