Spent a day in Gorinchem with friends on a Saturday. We booked a two-course lunch through Social Deal. It's highly recommended. The menu has a wide selection. The sandwiches and soup were delicious.

Beautiful restaurant with a large terrace. Delicious food, exceptionally friendly staff, and excellent value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pleasant and delicious meal and drinks in Gorinchem.

Friendly service, nice outdoor terrace, good quality food

I was here on Sunday, August 10th, with a few friends. We quickly got a table and menus from a lovely waitress, but unfortunately, things quickly went south. First, another server hadn't clearly asked if we wanted Parma ham with the bread, as he said it very quickly and rather softly. Consequently, an extra €6.50 was added without our knowledge. Then I was served the completely wrong burger, and the burger I received after that... completely pink inside. And this was chicken. The second burger I was served also had pink bits inside. The waitress saw that this wasn't right and took it away to get another burger. Afterward, a manager came over to us to explain that this was normal because it was a chicken thigh and that it was pre-cooked, so it couldn't be raw. But if chicken is pre-cooked, it's impossible for it to be completely pink, I suppose? We agreed to take the chicken burger off the bill because I was the only one still waiting for my food while everyone else had already finished. This was eventually withdrawn out of the blue, and a more expensive burger was even added to the bill! Another friend's fries weren't served until we asked about them, and then we received an apology about a fries-sharing rule that wasn't on the menu. We even had to pay extra for those fries! We went back twice about the bill, and in the end, we still ended up paying extra! If you want something good to eat, you're better off going to one of the snack bars nearby, where you can at least get good food for a good price.

We go out with friends a few times a year, and this time it was Gorinchem Fortress. I happened to see a two-course lunch on Social Deal, and we booked it. Definitely no regrets. The weather was wonderful, so we could sit outside. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere in the fortress is cozy! We had a wonderful lunch! It took a while for them to come back at the end, but it was busy. Just be patient. It was fantastic for us.

We visited on a recommendation, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. There was confusion about what exactly was included in the menu, which led to unclear answers. For example, a portion of fries with truffle was missing, which wasn't served until we had almost finished our plates. When we mentioned this, we received a rather laconic response: "You still have meat, right?" and "The fries are specially cooked now." We felt like we weren't being taken seriously, even though we just wanted clarity. We reluctantly paid and didn't say anything more, but it did leave us with an unpleasant feeling. A shame, because we came with high expectations.

We had chateaubriand...and it was wonderfully tender! The staff was very friendly.

It's a shame it's not clearly stated what you get - this led to a discussion, and we didn't get what we'd asked for. For example, a truffle fries package was missing and arrived just as we were almost finished with our menus. When we pointed this out, we weren't treated seriously - what do you mean? You still have a piece of meat, right? And yes, the fries are now specially cooked. Wow. I didn't expect this to be so difficult! I reluctantly paid and didn't make a fuss, but it does leave a bitter aftertaste.

We gingen vooraf aan een theater bezoek wat eten bij de Beren.. doorgaans is mijn ervaring bij de Beren oké tot goed. We zaten buiten aan een wiebelige tafel vlak bij de ingang,. Twee mensen namen de bestellingen op en een aantal mensen liepen de bestellingen uit, dat werkt goed. de hoofd opnemer liep als een soort opzichter de anderen aan te sporen en gaf korte commando’s, en keek daar niet echt vriendelijk bij, waardoor er van een gezellig etentje geen sprake was, de gast- vriendelijkheid werd wel geprobeerd maar is niet gelukt! Het voorgerecht werd geserveerd op een schoteltje maar was wel erg lekker van smaak. de friet werd geserveerd. ( grote porties) die je moet bij bestellen bij het drie gangen menu, kort daarop kreeg mijn man zijn saté.. het zag er onverzorgd uit, mijn saté kwam pas veel later, toen mijn man het al op had! Dat vond ik ronduit vervelend, als je samen uit eten gaat! De normaal zo lekkere saté was ook niet oké, De saus lag er als een dikke, veel te pittige donkere drap op! Wat wel uitstekend was is de koffie met de friandises! Het was druk, te druk waardoor mensen weg gekeken werden, bediening vergat aardig te zijn en de opzichter te veel aan het managen was.. de bediening liep ook honderd keer verkeerd met de bestelling.. ik kreeg nog cola over mijn blouse omdat er wat omviel.. ik moest 85 euro betalen voor 2 x een drie gangen menu een spa rood twee cola en een koffie! ( Brood en friet) Ik vind het zo jammer want eerdere ervaringen waren wel goed. Te veel mensen willen bedienen zorgt voor een onverzorgde uitstraling. Terwijl ik voor die 42,50 pp elders veel gezelliger zit, gastvrij ontvangen wordt en lekker eet! Dat kan Echt beter Beren… aardig zijn kost niks .. oplossingen aanbieden ook niet! Mij zie je er niet meer!

The food was delicious! The Japanese dumplings, Gyoza's were the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. The garlic shrimp, delicious! The spicy crispy chicken, delicious! Whole plates full. And let's not even mention the delicious desserts. 🤤 The service is very friendly. We will definitely eat here more often. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Veggie burger was disgusting, when reported nothing or hardly anything was done with it. The waiter's attitude was haughty. If I could give zero stars I would. The risotto ordered instead of the burger was mediocre.

Started the 3 course menu with the carpaccio, which was delicious! The bear burger with fries as a main course was also tasty. For dessert the Dameblanche, which was NOT edible. The ice had crystalized! When I spoke to the manager about this, he responded very nonchalantly. Did I want a new one? No, thank you! And if you have ever been to the Beren in Rotterdam, this location does not have such a pleasant atmosphere.

Had the avocado eggs Benedict for lunch. The food arrived on time and looked beautiful, the service was excellent. The taste of the whole was good, the poached eggs tasted a bit old and had a crust, which is an unknown preparation to me. They gave me an unpleasant mouthfeel.

Unfortunately the staff was very unfriendly. And they were mainly concerned with each other. We had to wait a very long time for our food and never got our dessert even though they did put it on the bill.

Delicious meal with the family. Enjoy a quiet meal without being constantly disturbed whether you want something to drink. Had the 3 course menu. Carpaccio, spicy chicken thigh with sweet fries and Apple crumble for dessert. Really delicious and more than enough.

Went for a meal for twelve hours, it was delicious and the dietary requirements were carefully listened to. Super friendly waitress, lovely quiet meal and the food was excellent. Will definitely come back again

Don't miss the price, performance of the old Beren restaurants. Too expensive and too mediocre in relation to the price. For that money you can also go to a "normal" restaurant.

DON’T EAT HERE. Mediocre, sad burgers. Overpriced. Dry, unappetizing boring burgers. Fries are clearly store bought as well as meat. Even at a cheap snackbar the food is better. I paid 20 euros for that piece of crap. This is a RIP OFF

Bad experience, food took too long, we had to pay for something we never got. We got the wrong dish. We had to wait 45 minutes before we got our drinks. The food was fine. The only thing that was good was the environment. It looked nice.

We had a bachelor party and everyone had their food and I had to wait half an hour for my starter, in addition, the waitress(s) were antisocial and everyone seemed like a number. The 5 stars for the atmosphere certainly did not come from the restaurant but from the people at the bachelor party.

WOW. I highly recommend eating here. The most consistent restaurant. I have now eaten here 15 times Iver the past 3 months. For lunch and dinner, every time the food and service is superb. I had the eggs benedict with salmon and bacon with extra bacon. I personally want to thank all the staff at De Beren for their service. It's refreshing to see excellence and consistency. Unfortunately, I contracted food poisoning/salmonella due to the pink chicken from the crunchy chicken burger.

Most of the dishes were fine. However, my son had a chicken burger that was undercooked and still pink on the inside. Shortly after our visit to the Beren, my son developed serious complaints of nausea, etc. Similar to salmonella poisoning. Urgent request to the cook to ensure that all chicken (burgers) are fully cooked. We realize that we should have immediately reported this to the waiter while eating. Still with this one.

Not a good experience. Went out for dinner with the 5 of us and ordered a drink and bread with spread but it never arrived. Orders that did not arrive at the same time. My veggie chicken burger was tough and not tasty. We passed it on and it was resolved properly. So unfortunately not worth repeating.

Had lunch on a Saturday afternoon with 5 people. The croquettes turned out to be cold, so I had new ones fried. It even still had the ice cream in it, so I sent it back again and ordered a bouncer. Not much can go wrong with that. Tablemates received lukewarm chicken dishes. Carpaccio was okay, I was asked to have fried bacon but there were only a few of them. It couldn't have been due to the crowds because it was remarkably quiet in the restaurant.

We ate at these bears today 4/12, at least we left feeling nauseous. 3 course menu, starter were frozen shrimps. Main course was salmon and it had an extra taste, namely a blond piece of human hair. We immediately finished eating. We brought in a blonde lady, in After consultation with the manager who was not very friendly, we were able to get 2 drinks from the company, well those were the 2 coffees that you could get as an after dish with desserts. We could not rate desserts because we did not receive them. Once you pay the full amount at the cash register for 2 x 3 course menu, this is not worth repeating for us.

We went here for dinner on a Wednesday. The place was very full, which speaks for itself. We hadn't reserved a table and yet we were offered a table after a 20-minute wait. We passed the time with a walk and at the bar. The food was very tasty and came to the table relatively quickly after ordering. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable here, hence a full 5 stars. We'd love to come back!

Bring the meat here, nice place with nice staff

I know this is a fast food restaurant but the services are still below my expectation. The waitresses served wrong dishes three times and the rest of the time we were just being ignored. I have to ask to get drinks. We waited for 25 minutes for the desserts. Overall a terrible place which I will never return.

Food was very tasty, especially the gyozas are highly recommended. And the crispy chicken is also really tasty. Service was very friendly. Otherwise we just had a pleasant evening.

Je kunt hier 'onbeperkt' spareribs eten. Idd. dat is ook zo, doordeweeks t/m donderdag. De Spareribs zijn heel matig! Ik heb Spareribs met honing, ketjap en barceque besteld, ik kon eerijk gezegd het verschil tussen die smaken niet proeven. Het is allemaal dezelfde hap. Valt erg tegen. Mijn vriendin bestelde een Gin-tonic, en ik een Tequila Sunrise. Die drankjes zijn erg duur, maar je krijgt absoluut geen waar voor je geld. Er zat veel te weinig Gin in, en ook veel te weinig Tequila. Hier verdienen ze lekker aan, maar jagen daarmee ook al het publiek weg. Ik kom hier nooit meer.

In every respect we had a pleasant and delicious meal with our whole family. A quiet table was even provided, so that grandma and grandpa could follow everything.

I visited the bears in Gorinchem last week. We had the Sparibs, the chicken satay and the children's menu frikandel with fries. It was delicious. Staff were friendly and very good with children. The case has a nice appearance.

The location in Gorinchem is nicely decorated and clear. The food was tasty and the service was top notch. Music was not my taste and the spicy chicken was not spicy.

Beautiful location. The place is beautiful and also nicely decorated inside and has a warm appearance, nothing to complain about. The terrace is large and in the shade in the very warm weather. Food is fine, although the portions are really smaller than a few years ago. Especially the satay. And that's what they grew up with, among other things.... Point of real criticism, ordering from one person and then serving the other and not being able to order anything from him/her. What a drama that "a colleague comes along".......

After a day in Gorinchem, we settled down with the bears for a snack. What a wonderful surprise. Satay was delicious and the crispy spicy chicken was also very good. Plenty of fries and a nice salad. Price quality good. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

It's been several times that we always go there satisfied.

For someone who only eats out 5 to 6 times a year, you like your dinner to be a party. However, this experience was ruined by the chef. When asked how I like my pork tenderloin, I like to eat it pink. No problem for an experienced chef, you might say. But I cut my meat and it was cooked gray. After immediately sending my plate back, the waiter returned after just a few minutes with the same piece of meat as before!? Asking if he was any good now? Now even tougher than before, of course, I walked back with my meal and asked if I could speak to the cook, but he didn't answer. I told the staff that I find it unprofessional and shameful that you treat your customers and the quality of your product this way. You can't be proud of your presentations, can you? I was compensated with the receipt because I immediately ate out. So very inadequate.

During a nice weekend away, we discovered a Beren restaurant on the central square in the Citadel of Gorkum. Of course we went straight inside to reserve a table. 😊👍 As we are used to from other locations, we were treated kindly. A nice spot was reserved. A few hours later the time had come. The obviously very friendly employee offered us a nice spot with a beautiful view. The order was quickly taken. (Obviously we didn't need a menu 😊😊😊) and not much later there were 2 steaming plates of goodies on our table. 😋😋😋 In our opinion, this Beren Restaurant also fully meets expectations in terms of taste experience, atmosphere and friendly staff. 👍👍👍 Team Beren Gorkum, thank you for the nice welcome and the delicious food!!

Food was fine. However, the menu hanging at the door listed prime rib as an option. When we ordered it, it turned out not to be on the menu. And 'the menu inside indicates what is available'. Why doesn't it match what's hanging by the door?

Nice place but bad dry burger that seemed reheated. We complained but nothing was done about it.

When asked about our dining preferences, I asked for the sirloin steak, because it can be ordered according to the window menu (at the entrance). And I was really looking forward to that. "It wasn't available and I had to limit myself to the menu on the table." This did not mention the sirloin steak I wanted. So I chose a different meat dish, because I didn't want to be a spoilsport.

When we ordered Dame Blanche, we first only had whipped cream with chocolate sauce and approached the clerk who, in a not cheerful manner, arranged for a new one, which the second time contained ice cream, but 2 mini scoops and you pay 9 euros for this, I think so. not worth the money and it took 35 minutes to wait for 2 desserts while 7 tables were occupied, so extremely long

Burgers were very unappetizing, the only good thing was the iced coffee. McDonalds burgers are even better than the cheeseburgers we had tonight.

Ordered bread with spread and goat cheese croquettes on the terrace. The latter arrived very late. Then ordered burgers which were cold. Then I was served a beer that I had not ordered. Ordered espresso but didn't receive it, so I paid for it. €80.00, I say cheers!

Fast service and good food here

You can eat well in this restaurant, but the service was not that fast in the evening even though it was not busy in the restaurant. The restaurant is very nicely decorated.
