The Satember promotion was fantastic. The only downside I have to mention is that while the satay and fries were delicious, there were pieces of prawn crackers mixed in that were still raw and hard as glass. Fortunately, there were only a few pieces, but it was still annoying to bite into a half-cooked prawn cracker. Otherwise, the service was prompt, and the atmosphere was good.

Unfortunately, I did not have a pleasant experience at this De Beren branch. I got the impression that everything was too much to ask of the staff. The food was fine. But I found the service far from good!

We had spicy chicken on miller's bread twice. It looked good in itself, but the chicken cubes looked like they were 3D printed. I actually thought it was strange stuff, whereas we often ate this at De Beren in Dordrecht with spicy chicken on a baguette; there you actually got chicken. Well, I'll take that one.

Everything was delicious, friendly and fast service.

We were warmly welcomed. The girl who served us was also incredibly friendly. I ordered the pork tenderloin and hesitated between the peppercorn sauce and the mushroom sauce. I mentioned that I don't like mushroom that much, but I don't like pepper that much either. She said the mushroom sauce is very good. And I took her word for it. The mushroom sauce was delicious. Thanks for the good service. It was nice and quiet inside and wonderfully cool.

A great starting point for or conclusion of a city walk. Beautiful city. Afterwards, get an ice cream at Venezia across the street.

We had a lovely high tea; it was ready inside, but at our request, it was immediately moved outside. The only very minor downside was that a pot of tea was brought for the four of us that didn't even make 4 cups, and we had to keep asking for more. That was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, it was really top-notch! Delicious snacks, more than enough, and varied.

After having an extensive meal here, I had to pee after 20 seconds, and on the rancid, horrible, desolate, sad, wasteless, hypocritical toilet at that. It smelled like the inside of an electrical socket in there.

Terrible experience. Upon arrival, I indicated that I do not eat pork and did not want pork. I specifically stated for *everything* that there should be no pork on it. Yet, when the bread board arrived, there was ham on it (which cost an extra 6.50 euros that I did not order, but was listed on the bill)! Then, my burger had cheese and bacon on it, even though I hadn't ordered either, and my girlfriend, who did have cheese, didn't have any. I sent everything back and received the same thing back, where they had simply deducted the cost. Afterwards, everything was charged correctly on the bill. So, 1 star from me.

Had a nice meal yesterday at De Beren in Gorinchem. It's just a shame that when ordering, you are asked if you want regular fries or sweet potato fries..... and that it only turns out later on the bill that an extra €2.00 is charged for the sweet potato fries. The gentleman could have mentioned that when we took the order.....

We arrived at 6:15 PM and still hadn't received our main course. We had to wait half an hour for our drinks, and we didn't order dessert otherwise we'd have had to wait even longer. As compensation, we were given two drinks off the bill. No more drinks for us.

I had another classic for lunch: chicken satay with fries. The satay was absolutely delicious, the fries a bit less French and a bit overcooked, not quite my preference.

The food was absolutely delicious. The truffle croquettes, satay, sweet potato fries, and apple crumble were delicious! Perhaps the staff could ask a bit more often if everything was still to your liking regarding drinks. They could generate a bit more revenue. But otherwise, it was very enjoyable and delicious. Excellent value for money.

We had the Albert Heijn lunch special. With that deal, you could choose one lunch dish per person. There was quite a wide selection. We had the 12-hour special. It was delicious, but also a large portion and included four different options. We could have skipped dinner.

Took advantage of the Albert Heijn lunch deal. Excellent lunch with a wide selection, with the occasional small extra charge. Relaxed meal and great service!

Well organized with six grandchildren under 10 and five adults. The table was set, and the children immediately received a fun activity/drawing placemat. We even took home bear socks and a bear ice cream cup. Kudos to the team, and everyone's plates were emptied. Even our three-year-old grandson complimented us on "well done, chef!" The surprise dessert, a fire on the table to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, was really nice. All in all, a delicious evening.

Today was a day of shopping in Gorichem, ending with a wonderful meal at De Beren. We had a delicious meal with our daughter and grandma, followed by dessert (which was delicious again). All in all, a wonderful way to end the day with you.

We ate here with two friends through a social deal. The soup and appetizer were okay, but the main course, "spicy chicken," wasn't crispy at all; the limp vegetables were soaked in sauce. While one friend was still eating, the waitress came to take away all our plates and asked if we wanted dessert. We told her our friend was still eating, but she just said "oh no" and walked away. The crème brûlée dessert was, unfortunately, completely inedible. It was ice cold and had hard bits of sugar on it—simply unappetizing.

We booked through Social Deal, and even then, there was plenty of choice per course. The food was excellent. The location is good, both inside and outside on the terrace where we sat. Service was also good and fast. I would definitely go back again.

I was here on Sunday, August 10th, with a few friends. We quickly got a table and menus from a lovely waitress, but unfortunately, things quickly went south. First, another server hadn't clearly asked if we wanted Parma ham with the bread, as he said it very quickly and rather softly. Consequently, an extra €6.50 was added without our knowledge. Then I was served the completely wrong burger, and the burger I received after that... completely pink inside. And this was chicken. The second burger I was served also had pink bits inside. The waitress saw that this wasn't right and took it away to get another burger. Afterward, a manager came over to us to explain that this was normal because it was a chicken thigh and that it was pre-cooked, so it couldn't be raw. But if chicken is pre-cooked, it's impossible for it to be completely pink, I suppose? We agreed to take the chicken burger off the bill because I was the only one still waiting for my food while everyone else had already finished. This was eventually withdrawn out of the blue, and a more expensive burger was even added to the bill! Another friend's fries weren't served until we asked about them, and then we received an apology about a fries-sharing rule that wasn't on the menu. We even had to pay extra for those fries! We went back twice about the bill, and in the end, we still ended up paying extra! If you want something good to eat, you're better off going to one of the snack bars nearby, where you can at least get good food for a good price.

We go out with friends a few times a year, and this time it was Gorinchem Fortress. I happened to see a two-course lunch on Social Deal, and we booked it. Definitely no regrets. The weather was wonderful, so we could sit outside. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere in the fortress is cozy! We had a wonderful lunch! It took a while for them to come back at the end, but it was busy. Just be patient. It was fantastic for us.

For example, a portion of fries with truffle was missing, which wasn't served until we had almost finished our plates. When we mentioned this, we received a rather laconic response: "You still have meat, right?" and "The fries are specially cooked now." We felt like we weren't being taken seriously, even though we just wanted clarity. We reluctantly paid and didn't say anything more, but it did leave us with an unpleasant feeling. A shame, because we came with high expectations.

We gingen vooraf aan een theater bezoek wat eten bij de Beren.. doorgaans is mijn ervaring bij de Beren oké tot goed. We zaten buiten aan een wiebelige tafel vlak bij de ingang,. Twee mensen namen de bestellingen op en een aantal mensen liepen de bestellingen uit, dat werkt goed. de hoofd opnemer liep als een soort opzichter de anderen aan te sporen en gaf korte commando’s, en keek daar niet echt vriendelijk bij, waardoor er van een gezellig etentje geen sprake was, de gast- vriendelijkheid werd wel geprobeerd maar is niet gelukt! Het voorgerecht werd geserveerd op een schoteltje maar was wel erg lekker van smaak. de friet werd geserveerd. ( grote porties) die je moet bij bestellen bij het drie gangen menu, kort daarop kreeg mijn man zijn saté.. het zag er onverzorgd uit, mijn saté kwam pas veel later, toen mijn man het al op had! Dat vond ik ronduit vervelend, als je samen uit eten gaat! De normaal zo lekkere saté was ook niet oké, De saus lag er als een dikke, veel te pittige donkere drap op! Wat wel uitstekend was is de koffie met de friandises! Het was druk, te druk waardoor mensen weg gekeken werden, bediening vergat aardig te zijn en de opzichter te veel aan het managen was.. de bediening liep ook honderd keer verkeerd met de bestelling.. ik kreeg nog cola over mijn blouse omdat er wat omviel.. ik moest 85 euro betalen voor 2 x een drie gangen menu een spa rood twee cola en een koffie! ( Brood en friet) Ik vind het zo jammer want eerdere ervaringen waren wel goed. Te veel mensen willen bedienen zorgt voor een onverzorgde uitstraling. Terwijl ik voor die 42,50 pp elders veel gezelliger zit, gastvrij ontvangen wordt en lekker eet! Dat kan Echt beter Beren… aardig zijn kost niks .. oplossingen aanbieden ook niet! Mij zie je er niet meer!

The food was delicious! The Japanese dumplings, Gyoza's were the tastiest thing I have ever eaten. The garlic shrimp, delicious! The spicy crispy chicken, delicious! Whole plates full. And let's not even mention the delicious desserts. 🤤 The service is very friendly. We will definitely eat here more often. This restaurant is highly recommended.
