Restaurant De Ruif in Wijk 01 Rheden

After our walk on the Posbank, we settled down in this restaurant. We had a delicious meal here at a very reasonable price. The service was also very friendly. The only downside: it is quite dark inside, especially if you sit in the middle of the restaurant. But otherwise... highly recommended!

Nice restaurant, nice surroundings. I ordered a Bacardi and Coke, but the waiters had to finish their cigarettes first and then had the nerve to charge 8 euros for the drink. Normally I work full days as a newspaper vendor, but due to circumstances I am only working half days now, so you can imagine that 8 euros for a Bacardi and Coke came as a bit of a shock. Next time, I'll go back to Nico's.

Delicious cappuccino and apple pie. I was just passing by and hadn't made a reservation. It's a shame then that, as a single guest, you're directed to a table for six, because then we could have added more people... luckily the terrace was heated, and I was able to sit comfortably.

It was a nice hot sunny day, we sat outside for lunch, service was a bit slow but it was very busy, opted for the salad of the moment (squid) which I presume would be the special of the day only to find it was frozen squid rings like you buy in the supermarket and not fresh one which doesn't really make it a special and for the price it should have been and more you can buy these in a packet for 3 euros

Had a lovely meal with a group. Tomato soup was delicious. Salmon with egg was also good. Friendly staff with a sense of humor.

We have had delicious meals at De Ruif several times and it never disappoints. The welcome is always warm and hospitable, and the staff are all friendly and attentive. Today we opted for the 3-course menu for €40 p.p., and it was highly recommended. We started with a flavourful asparagus soup, followed by classic asparagus prepared in the traditional way, perfectly cooked and delicious. To finish, a mini dessert with mascarpone and coffee, just right to complete the meal. In short, a lovely place where quality, hospitality, and coziness come together. Definitely a restaurant we will keep coming back to!

The asparagus season has started again. Delicious the asparagus soup, the classic version or with salmon, a delight for the taste buds. The service is very trained to make everything run perfectly. A perfect location.

A lovely base for a walk, or to finish off after some activity. You’ll prefer sitting outside, but the relaxed atmosphere and the warm welcome from dogs make it a great spot, indoors as well.

The kitchen was closed when we arrived at 4:15 PM. It happens. We were able to order soup, but the French onion soup we ordered didn't arrive for over 20 minutes. A shame. The price-quality ratio was also disappointing: a mini cup for a whopping €9.00. Half of it was bread and cheese (disproportionately). The taste wasn't bad, but for that price, you'd expect something different. A shame.

My father and I went here for lunch, even before my birthday. My father has been a regular at De Ruif for over 15 years, so we felt good about it when we arrived. We received a warm welcome from two gentlemen, which was a pleasant start. The youngest server took our order. My sandwich was delicious, nothing to complain about. After we'd eaten, my father calmly expressed his regret that he hadn't been asked whether he wanted white or brown bread. Unfortunately, this wasn't addressed. Instead, they said that white bread is toasted by default (which, incidentally, wasn't the case) and that he should have indicated if he wanted brown bread. That felt like a complete flop; normally, this is precisely what we'd ask for. From that moment on, we were completely ignored. Cups we'd neatly placed at the edge of the table were left untouched, and no attention was paid to them. We felt this was a real shame. If they had simply responded normally, like, "Sorry, I should have asked," there wouldn't have been a problem. Unfortunately, this experience has now led me to write a negative review, and my father, after more than 15 years of loyal patronage, has indicated he won't be returning. That's a real shame, because the food and atmosphere deserved so much better.

The decor is cozy, the service is excellent. A fine lunch, but a glass of milk is out of the question. Delicious salmon, barely a third of the size of my plate. Originality is nice, but loose-leaf tea in an open bag that requires instructions for use?

The food was delicious, although the exceptions (e.g., a salad without arugula) were quite difficult. There were several exceptions in our group, and most of them didn't arrive properly. Other than that, the food was delicious, the service was good, the staff were friendly, the menu was good, and so on.

I stumbled upon this place online, and what a breath of fresh air! The staff, service, and food were top-notch. It was pleasantly busy, which is a sign that things are good there. We'll definitely be back because there were too many delicious things to try at once! Keep up the good work!

In short: good location, nice interior and delicious meals! Food taste and quality was clearly higher than average for the Netherlands, in my opinion. Prices are what they are nowadays; they are a bit higher than average and than what they used to be in the past, I think, but the overall quality and finishing more than compensate for that. Kind personnel and the (traditional) interior add up to make the five stars. The seasonal desert was extremely tasty and well-balanced -- our compliments! We will definitely come back here again! PS: we went during a weekday in autumn, not sure how the situation would look on a hot summer weekend (parking?) -- check other reviews for that situation..

Erg weinig eten gekregen voor veel geld. Bijna geen groente erbij. Voor 1 persoon patat. Bij moeten bestellen. Had net zo goed naar een cafetaria kunnen gaan.

Sadly ‘ very sadly I have to give a one star when usually I gave a 5 star.. yesterday was fathers days and my father I law birthday .. of course we thought in De Ruif to celebrate !! Everything began great : nice greetings nice table service quiet fast and then something happened after de Entrée.. horrible service seems like they just forgot us to get the sale and the Gerecht, we arrived at 18 and we got or dish at 1915 .. not to mention that other tables came after us and they got the full service right away. So we finally got our dish but we never get de frites complimentary.. none ever apologised but we mentioned to one of the girls who came finally to get the dishes she seems to be upset and service turned worst .. we did see the waitress talking between them while we were ignored .. because w e tried to call their attention.. and then toetje : oh what a disgrace child got one one thing in a plastic bag .. usually kinderijsje is served in a cup (yes one ball which is ok) but with one strawberry and cream and so .. well child and the whole were disappointed.. I think that for a price restaurant we were looking to enjoy our meal not to be behind people to get job done … In the end they said thanks and maybe you want to come back one day 😦 ok so this new team is really not happy with their work or they had a bad day .. I don’t know but certainly that is not the team I know

Een weekendje weg op de posbank en de eerste avond gegeten bij dit restaurant. Vriendelijke bediening. Zowel voor- hoofd als nagerecht hebben ons goed gesmaakt. Ruim voldoende. Er werd netjes gevraagd of we extra frites wilden hebben. En bij de bestelde ribeye werd duidelijk vermeld dat het om varkensvlees ging (wat ook vermeld stond op de menukaart). We zijn tevreden weggegaan.

We had planned a lunch for a family day with 12 people. As a group we had chosen Lunch II. That is really great. Delicious food, very varied and something for everyone. I have something to get off my chest. I recently ate here and without thinking much about it I ordered the Rib Eye. On closer inspection it turns out to be a boneless pork chop, so pork instead of aged beef. Yes... it also appears to be on the menu in small letters, but when you see Rib-eye you just don't think of pork. I felt a bit misled.

We got married in De Deel in 2023 and had a party which was perfect. On our wedding day 1 year after our wedding, we received a €50 dinner voucher from De Deel. We redeemed this on Easter Monday. As we had come to expect from previous visits, the food was of high quality and the service was casual, friendly and good.

We were a group of 10. We made reservations well in advance and it was well organized. On the day itself we arrived a little earlier and this was no problem. We found the table service a bit less. Approx. 7 people had a dish that also included fries. We got 2 bowls to share, while a single person sitting next to us at a table also got a bowl by himself. We ordered 2 additional bowls which we did not see on the bill. The food was very tasty again. The portions are not very large. Sufficient but no more than that.

Always delicious, always great service. Here people understand that you may not be wearing expensive clothes, but that you are still going to pay the bill soon :). So despite the plain clothes, you are treated with every respect. That, in combination with delicious food, is top-quality catering!

An incredibly nice, warm, atmospheric place to eat out. Very welcome and served. The food was amazing! Created with so much attention and love. It was again pleasant and very tasty. The only thing that bothered me is that the bill says 2 euros for a little tap water. It's not even about the 2 euros but more about the principle.

I have actually been coming here for 50 years! And the quality is always up to standard. A varied, changing menu for both lunch and dinner, and always a few permanent dishes that cannot be missed. The service is more than friendly and is always there for their guests.

If you want good food in a pleasant atmosphere, De Ruif is the right place for you.

This restaurant is distinguished by its special location and attractive spaces, both in the nice, spacious conservatory, the large part and the lovely large terrace with comfortable chairs. Sufficient shade if necessary. Nice people who serve you quickly and cheerfully. And all treats are of excellent quality and there is plenty of varied choice. All in all a place to enjoy staying.
