A truly surprising and exquisite dinner for two. We thoroughly enjoyed Nick's deliciously prepared dishes. It is a pity that the double espressos were lukewarm and weak, a minor discordant note in an otherwise perfect evening.

It is a shame that animal suffering (foie gras) is on the menu here; it is so outdated and unnecessary.

On a summer afternoon on the beautiful terrace. Coffee with apple cake... Coffee was ordinary, but good. (€ 3.50). Apple pastry "appelslof" € 6.50) the size of an old guilder... not bad but very meagerly small. Small dollop of whipped cream for € 1 extra... Total € 11. Deplorable. Meager and expensive. Not worth repeating.

We chose the surprise menu and it was a very tasty surprise with delicious dishes. Great service, polite, friendly, etc. We will definitely be back!

On Saturday, we dined for the third time at the “new” owner of De Zwaan. It was top-notch again!! Starting with a lovely amuse-bouche on the house, followed by the surprise menu for two and à la carte for one. All the flavors were spot on and the combinations were a work of art! The service was very friendly, and the one lady we see repeatedly is particularly hospitable and thoughtful. For us, it was once again a very pleasant dinner evening.

Upon arrival, it was very unfortunate that our coats were not taken. The staff should have seen that we were fumbling around trying to get rid of our coats. We had to ask twice ourselves if they would bring us something to drink. The ladies were very focused on each other and on a group that was yet to arrive. Fortunately, the food made up for a lot. The plates were beautifully presented and tasted exquisite.

Very stylishly decorated, cozy restaurant. We went for the 6-course surprise menu and it certainly did not disappoint, and at a very pleasant price too. Beautiful fresh ingredients, beautifully presented plates... truly delicious food... The very nice hostess expertly explained what was served with each course and conjured up the most delicious wines to accompany it... We really had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back soon... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I am also very curious what Gault-Millau will think of this when they come by... Had a delicious à la carte meal, exactly as I had hoped and expected.

We ate at De Zwaan. The amuse-bouche was very tasty. We opted for the 4-course surprise menu. It was simply good and delicious. When we got to dessert, I asked for a cheese platter. The lady serving us said there was an extra charge. That is usually the case, so it wasn't a problem. Later, we saw that the extra charge was 11 euros (pp). I thought that was quite a lot. The cheese platter consisted of a plate with a few small cheeses and a little jam on it; it didn't look very presentable and tasted mediocre. The sweet dessert was also very mediocre, dry and lacking in flavor. Nothing was explained about the accompanying wine. You have to pay extra for a portion of fries; they are not included as standard. That isn't a problem either, but the fries were soggy and not tasty. In short, it is a decent restaurant, but I find them a bit too pretentious for what they offer.

After a terrible experience with the previous owner at the end of January 2025, we'll be back for dinner soon. We've read the reviews and we're confident it's much better than Alphons'. See you soon!

The food is delicious. The service could be a bit more attentive. Sparkling water is not available by the glass, only by the bottle. Twice, they forgot one person's drink order.

Casual and cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent service. Visited again two years later. Prices had increased. No (free) (still) water was served. Ordered a three-course menu. For dessert, they asked if they wanted sweet or savory (cheese). Choosing savory was an extra €6, which wasn't mentioned.

We used to visit De Zwaan regularly (at Esther and Bert's), but stopped going in recent years due to the atmosphere and the price/quality ratio. Because of the good reviews since the new owner took over, we wanted to give it another chance. The photos of the dishes looked convincing, and given the price of the surprise menus, we expected a level on par with Smaek, a few doors down. Unfortunately… We do not share the wildly enthusiastic reviews. They really still have some work to do here (or the prices need to come down). It all looks very pretentious, with waitstaff wearing earpieces and amuse-bouches appearing on the table within three minutes, just like the bread. It came across as somewhat forced to us. A bit more teaching would be nice. We took a wine pairing (we asked for it ourselves). The first wine was a Verdejo presented as a sweet white wine. Quite unusual. No idea which country the second wine came from. The waitress couldn't remember the story that went with it. It happens. The surprise menu had duck as the main course. Bold choice. Not nearly everyone likes duck. It tasted fine in itself, but despite the strong flavor of the duck, the dish was quite bland. Even so, the wine could have had a bit more body to match the strong taste of the duck. For dessert, the option between sweet and cheese was not offered. I indicated this on my own initiative. Nice choice for dessert wine with the cheese, not standard port. Plus points! In short, the dishes are fine in themselves, but for these prices, we expect a bit more of a taste sensation. If you are willing to pay these prices for your dinner, I would really go sit a few doors down, at Uchi or Smaek.

The sole did not meet my expectations regarding the preparation, but above all, the quality left much to be desired. What a shame!

Now, I really don't give compliments easily, because those walnuts in the foie gras weren't really necessary. But I have truly rarely had such a divine, tender, delicious, and actually quite large beef tenderloin. Dear Chef, my sincere compliments! We also dropped by this week, on September 18, 2015, with 4 people. Portions could generally be marginally larger, but for those who love good steak... I have rarely experienced such a top level...

We had a wonderful meal at De Zwaan in Geldrop. The wine pairing was excellent, the young, efficient service, and the explanations of both the food and the wines were thorough. Highly recommended and a valuable addition to Geldrop.

Since a couple of months the restaurant has a new owner (chef), and this has been a great improvement. Before I would have not recommended the restaurant, but now you should definitely give it a try. My wife had a 4 course surprise meal and I had a starter, in between and main course. The in between was goose liver, a dish which I certainly recommend. The main course was a beef tenderloin, which was perfectly done (right core temperature , good bark and great taste). So compliments to the chef, I only had the impression that it was a shoulder tenderloin iso a real one. Most people will not note the difference, but anyway... There is a good selection of wines (split in a 'normal' and 'premium' selection). We had a chenin blanc from the normal and a brunello from the premium selection. Service was friendly, and attentful (pouring wine when glasses were almost empty). Price / quality ratio was good for the food and the wines. Only two suggested improvement points: 1) table clothing (there are linen napkins) 2) list the year of the wines in the premium selection.

De Zwaan has been a well-known name in Geldrop for years and is a true crowd-pleaser. It's conveniently located at the beginning of a busy shopping street, at the foot of the Brigida Church. It's also great that there's free parking within walking distance. Chef Nick, who prioritizes quality, has significantly enhanced the restaurant's appeal for fine dining enthusiasts. We chose the surprise menu. Refined dishes with full flavors, featuring luxurious ingredients and beautifully presented plates. The langoustine was our highlight of the afternoon, partly due to the delicious Chardonnay from my favorite Italian region. Service is provided by a young, enthusiastic team. The modest prices are a major advantage, making it highly recommended.

Don't come here for coffee! €8.50 for two lousy, bald cups of coffee. The crema layer had disappeared within a minute of serving. The coffee was made from dark roasted espresso beans, but not even half the amount of coffee used as would be needed for a decent coffee. No pastries in stock! I don't understand the rave reviews here...

We had relied on an article from LEKKER magazine and therefore had quite high expectations. Unfortunately it was not at all what we expected. I don't really understand where all those rave reviews come from. The dishes did not excel in imagination or taste and sometimes I had the feeling that they had opted for "convenience". By ease I mean the ready-made version. We were asked if we wanted some fries with it and we immediately received 2 portions that were on the bill for a steep price. You expect this price to include that, but unfortunately. We didn't think the price-quality ratio was okay. We won't be coming back here. I would still like to say something positive. The hostess and host were very friendly.

Food is tasty, on the expensive side. We had to wait about 90 minutes between arriving and receiving our (first) main course. Both dishes were good, it's a pity that we did not receive the salad that was ordered. The timing is a problem. I ordered coffee and creme brulee, got the dessert 15 minutes after the coffee,

I am a spoiled foodie, and I had yet to be impressed by any restaurant in the Eindhoven area. Now I can confidently say that I am impressed. We had a 5 course menu, and every dish was a little work of art. Each tiny piece of each composition was an explosion of flavor, imaginative without being excessively daring. Cherry on top, also the wine was nice - which in Northern Europe is not a given in my experience, not even in fine restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and the personnel is kind. Highly recommended for a special treat or a romantic dinner.

Alles goed geregeld, prima eten en een gezellige middag gehad

mwah....wij vonden t te duur voor hetgeen je krijgt en over het algemeen miste alles, wat ons betreft, smaak. Té laf.... Ook vonden wij het nogal lang duren alles bij elkaar. Het is al met al iets uit verhouding. Bij de vorige eigenaren hadden wij dit gevoel niet.

Heerlijk gegeten met zijn 4en Hebben het verassingsmenu genomen. Was erg lekker met passende wijnen erbij. Bediening was vriendelijk en hielden rekening met allergie. Komen zeker terug

Ik ben sinds kort wonend in Geldrop en ook hier opzoek naar goede dingen nou dat is hier zeker goede service voortreffelijk eten en een warme sfeer de moeite waard om nog zeker terug te gaan

Gekozen voor een viergangen menu (v,t,h,n) zonder bijpassende wijnen. De rode huiswijn vonden wij al prima:). Restaurant heeft volgens ons een goede balans tussen hoeveelheid en tijdsspanne tussen de gerechten. Hierdoor ervoeren wij een lekker ontspannen sfeer om lekker te tafelen en te genieten van de gerechten!

Ontzettend super lekker kerstdiner gehad. De gerechten waren zeer goed op elkaar afgestemd. De smaken waren voortreffelijk. De bediening zeer vriendelijk en gezellig. Kortom een zeer goede avond vullende avond gehad. En nogmaals mijn complimenten voor de koks!!!!

Vriendelijke ontvangst,goede bediening, heerlijk eten. Is wel wat prijzig ,zeker niet goedkoop. Kwaliteit is zondermeer uitstekend.

In principe best goed gegeten maar vind het nogal dik aan de prijs. Frietjes moet je extra betalen, verwacht je niet bij deze prijzen. We zaten op het afgesloten en overdekte terras waar je niet zou verwachten dat er volop gerookt wordt door de overige gasten. Not done tijdens dinner!

In vergelijk met omliggende horeca gelegenheden een duur drankje.

Het was al weer wat jaar geleden dat we bij de Zwaan gegeten hebben. De kwaliteit is nog steeds in orde. Wat ons opvalt is dat de ruimte gehorig is , waardoor ons gesprek op verhoogde toon gevoerd moet worden. Hier zou echt iets aan gedaan moeten worden, dat komt de sfeer echt ten goede.

Overheerlijk gegeten bij de Zwaan! Zo mooi en prachtig als de borden opgemaakt waren, nog lekkerder smaakten ze! Stuk voor stuk schilderijtjes. Ook echt een vermelding waard is het vriendelijke personeel! Ik kom hier graag terug!

Eten is niet bijzonder. Voor portie frites bij vleesgerecht extra betalen 2.50 hoort toch eigenlijk gratis bij je hoofdgerecht. Ook een glaasje cava bijna 7euro flink aan de prijs. JAMMER HAD HIER MEER VAN VERWACHT!!

We hebben altijd erg goede ervaringen gehad in dit restaurant. Altijd lekker eten en vriendelijke bediening, ook een leuke inrichting en een goede sfeer. Nu ze door de Corona-sluiting zijn begonnen met het verzorgen van dagelijkse maaltijden die bezorgd kunnen worden dachten we: laten we dat eens proberen. En wow! Dat is heel erg goed bevallen. Heerlijke verse maaltijd elke dag, goede porties, meer dan z'n geld waard. Heb al voor de hele volgende week elke dag een maaltijd besteld! Absoluut een aanrader! 10/10

Pas één keer gegeten was echt héél lekker. Niet echt goedkoop maar dat snap ik ook wel nu.
