Definitely worth a visit if you're visiting Flipje. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Top service and quality. We were given an extra piece of steak because they thought the portions weren't big enough. In short, a lovely location.

We ate here yesterday during Appelpop with our gluten-free daughter. We already knew they were well-informed, but even amidst all the festival hustle and bustle, she had a delicious meal and was able to continue partying with peace of mind.

It is a treat to eat here every time. Delicious dishes, tasty desserts, and excellent service. My family and I love dining here.

Even if you are unable to go out for dinner, they go out of their way to pack everything neatly so you can eat it at home. That is service and very customer-friendly.

The restaurant really impressed me. The food was very delicious and freshly prepared, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I would especially like to highlight the service: since I have an allergy, the waiter immediately helped me and clearly explained which dishes I could safely eat. We ordered the full breakfast, but it was very disappointing. It only came with two slices of bread, the fruit didn’t look fresh and had an unusual color, and the pancakes were extremely small. Overall, the portion size and quality did not match what was advertised as a “full breakfast.” Unfortunately, it was not worth the price.

Delicious cocktails with a wide selection, so there is something tasty for everyone. Additionally, the terrace is a lovely place to sit in a beautiful location. Everything is well organized and the service is top-notch. Definitely recommended!

We went there for lunch on Sunday afternoon; it seemed a bit understaffed. The service was correct and friendly, but everything took just a little longer than usual. Drinks didn't arrive until halfway through the meal, which isn't convenient. People around us were also a bit complainy. The food was great as always, and the atmosphere was fine too. Once again, it seemed a bit understaffed, not what we are used to from this restaurant.

Stopping for lunch in Tiel on the way from Nijmegen to The Hague. After half an hour, a drink, and after asking twice for the menu. After an hour, the two salads arrived, the one with goat cheese having way too much cheese and stale lettuce. All really bad.

To be served with 1 drink (at 2 o'clock). Then waiting 1 hour from ordering, being told that 5 employees are sick, and being served raw food when you threaten to leave.

I was there with a date. Nice, friendly service. However, they were closing for their BBQ. No big deal, but they should mention it sooner.

Today, a nice day of cycling is on the schedule. We haven't really come across a place to eat yet, so we deviate slightly from the route and ride into Tiel. Here, our eye falls on this cozy terrace. We had a drink first, and after a great, well-prepared lunch, we were able to get back on our bikes to cycle the rest of our route. It was a pleasant stopover.

Very dissatisfied with the thought of sitting down at the table to enjoy a delicious breakfast and being served with a fried egg that is undercooked, resulting in the egg white being slimy. When this is pointed out politely and kindly, the solution is to flip the egg over and re-cook the same egg. Very unprofessional, certainly not customer-friendly. And not helpful at all!!!! THE 'Uitmijter' IS A NO GO !!!!!

The lunch was good. It was pleasant and the staff was also remarkably friendly. So why 4 stars? Well, I had ordered white bread instead of brown bread, and I only noticed that when I was cutting into the fried egg. Remarkable, this morning on June 17th, after sitting inside for 15 minutes without being served at all, even though staff were walking around, I got up and left. I was sitting in the conservatory; it really wasn't super busy or anything. Too bad... service downgrade then.

We had a delicious meal, but the wine was far too cold. It was a shame about the flavors. After standing on our table for about 15 minutes, it got better. I mentioned it, but I didn't get the impression that it was taken seriously. That is a pity.

What professionalism, atmosphere, and service. The Achmea Pensioners Association's spring event took place on April 29 and 30, 2026. We visited Tiel. Lunch and dinner were held at the restaurant "Hart van de Betuwe". The groups consisted of 151 and 158 people, respectively. A warm welcome, as the terrace was reserved especially for us. Lunch included a croquette. This was served quickly and hot, after the various rolls, sweet and savory toppings had been placed on the table. Plenty of choice. Vegetarian was no problem and was handled neatly and expertly. At dinner as well (the participants had decided in advance on a schnitzel, stew, or vegetarian option), everything was served quickly and skillfully. Everything was hot and of good quality. Allergies were also taken into account. Kudos to the chefs and the staff. They not only worked quickly but also listened carefully to the people's wishes and were very friendly. I did not hear a single complaint. This restaurant exudes the true hospitality spirit. The ambiance, the quality of the meals, and the hospitality form a beautiful bouquet that makes you want to dine here again, perhaps in person. "Hart van de Betuwe" is pure enjoyment !!!!!!

Yesterday, we had a lovely dinner on the terrace, served by an attentive young man. The food took a little longer than expected, but it was definitely worth the wait.

The food is amazing and the staff is top-notch! They really make you feel good as a guest. It is a household name in Tiel and the surrounding area. We have loved coming here for years. Great business!

Delicious food and friendly service

A fine spot for a quick coffee. The location isn't very interesting, unless you want to people-watch. You do quickly get the feeling that the Sunflower has docked when you look around on the terrace. Everything is also somewhat geared towards the older crowd.

You can eat really well here. It is often quite full for a reason. However, for that reason, you regularly have to wait a long time for your food or drinks. Once, the drinks hadn't arrived yet when lunch was already on the table, and another time we really had to wait almost an hour for our lunch. But: the quality of the food is very good, the service is very friendly, and the price is fine.

After being here last year and giving two stars, I am now giving five stars. Polite, friendly, and efficient service 👍. I will definitely come back; it is a nice place to take a break in between.

Staff really not friendly, food takes a really long time

This might honestly be my favorite restaurant in all of the Netherlands 👀🌷 The first time I came here was completely by accident — on my birthday, hungry and just looking for a place to eat… and I ended up finding something really special. I fell in love with the food and the atmosphere instantly. My boyfriend was just as impressed with everything — from the dishes to the drinks. The second time, I came back already knowing it would be amazing… and it truly was. The service, the food, the cocktails — everything is always on point. And the atmosphere… it feels warm, cozy, and reminds me of home and the restaurants in my country. You definitely gained a loyal guest ♥️✨

Had to wait a very long time for a menu. Then for the food as well. Had to wait more than an hour with a small child. Then I received 1 chicken skewer with my 20 euro chicken skewer menu. I do not recommend this.

Had lunch with a luxury charcuterie board for 2 people. Very extensive and lots of nice and tasty small bites. Sat on the terrace. Dinner tonight with 4. Starter, chateau briant and ice cream for dessert. Delicious!! And on 4.4.2026 same recipe. Delicious and super cozy.

Yesterday, prior to visiting the Agnietenhof theatre, we had a fantastic dinner at this atmospheric restaurant. Very good menu, very friendly staff, and excellent value for money. We will definitely be back.

I went for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband. It was very busy, but we had a great time because the restaurant was beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was very attentive. I should mention that I didn't wait for a table because we had made a reservation.

We sat outside on one of the few sunny afternoons in February with a 0.0 beer and a latte, accompanied by some decent bitterballen (meatballs) and an apple pie. The latter was a complete failure, three-quarters of it tasteless dough and a paper-thin layer of apple cream. I've rarely eaten such a bad apple pie. We've taken a photo to illustrate.

Lots of containers of food: salad, spinach, red cabbage, cucumber, fries, baked potatoes... while we only asked for fries with our main course... just a quick bite. My partner said it was a real shame these days to have so much food on the table, and such a shame that the rest is just thrown away. The lady said that's just our policy. Well, I'd say, improve the world, and start with yourself.

I'm sorry for the negative rating, but unfortunately, the flavor of the items I ordered wasn't to my liking. The smoothie was practically just ice cream (strawberry banana, no banana flavor). The roll wasn't anything special either, but it looked delicious. My friend, however, liked the goat cheese salad 🤷‍♀️

I went out for a gluten-free meal for the first time (due to celiac disease)... quite exciting. The staff were so knowledgeable about the diet and did their best to make sure I enjoyed a delicious lunch with a sense of security. Thank you so much!!!

Sat here on the patio and had a lovely lunch. The staff were super friendly and the patio was beautiful. We had a delicious carpaccio sandwich and a salad with goat cheese. They even brought a bowl of water for the dog right away.

Delicious red cabbage, spinach, salad, and cucumber served with fried potatoes and fries, along with a delicious piece of pork tenderloin. The wok-fried chicken was also delicious. The desserts were also excellent, with fresh fruit and other ingredients. The price was also reasonable.

We went to the restaurant and ordered a raspberry mojito (mojito razz), but instead we were given a soft drink with two mint leaves and two strawberry slices, without syrup and with sugar instead of syrup. This had nothing to do with a real mojito. Very disappointing. A shame, because we liked the location.

Even though the restaurant and terrace weren't even half full, we had to wait a very long time for our food. We skipped dessert. The receipt revealed a dishonest upsell. I ordered a drinks platter, and the receipt (and delivery) showed a "Betuwe" drinks platter. That's another €5 extra per person. Would you like some burrata with ravioli? It's not listed as an extra on the menu, but it is on the invoice for €5. Not fair. Friendly service, good food, unpleasant aftertaste.

We eat here regularly. Both lunch and dinner. Fun with friends and also our children. The restaurant looks nice and cozy. Nice atmosphere. The staff has been there for years, a few newcomers, but everyone is always friendly and helpful.

Sausage in sausage roll was cold. None of the cheese on the sandwich had melted. Very unfortunate. An offer was made to remake it. But unfortunately we didn't have time for that.
