Take a stroll and then enjoy a drink or coffee and cake. It's a wonderful place to spend time at Wolthuis. You'll receive friendly service and it looks fantastic inside. They've just opened, but they know what they're doing. You simply have to go. If you're bored on a Sunday afternoon, you could easily enjoy the surroundings and the lovely terrace. Simply delicious. You may pay a bit more than in an average restaurant but it is worth it. We went for the 5-course dinner with matching wine and were pleasantly surprised with every course, also very nice that in addition to the 5 courses there was an amuse and spoom. In the end we spent about 4 hours at Het Wolthuis and we did not have the idea for a minute that something took too long. The service was young but very professional, real compliments. I will find out when the menu changes and then we will definitely go more often

Wij komen regelmatig bij restaurant het Wolthuis eten, zowel privé als zakelijk. Iedere keer weet de keuken ons te verassen met een uitstekend menu. Dit in combinatie met de excellente bediening maakt het ieder keer weer een feestje om daar te eten.

Wat een geweldige ervaring! De gerechten waren niet alleen prachtig gepresenteerd, maar vooral de balans tussen de verschillende smaken was verfijnd en verrassend. Elk gerecht liet zien dat er veel aandacht en vakmanschap in de keuken zit. Daarnaast was het personeel uiterst professioneel en tegelijkertijd warm en vriendelijk, wat de avond helemaal af maakte. Een restaurant waar we zeker naar terugkeren!"

Dit blijft toch een top restaurant waarvan het begin tot het einde alles klopt. Niets wordt aan het toeval overgelaten en ze blijven die kwaliteit jaar na jaar bieden, dat is professionaliteit. Je kunt hier met een gerust hart iedereen mee naar toe nemen en het is altijd een perfect verzorgde avond met geweldig lekker eten, bijzonder en toch toegankelijk. Wij hebben weer 100% genoten! The food was delicious, beautifully prepared and well presented. Wine pairing was okay. Only the portions were extremely small. That was a shame because you are not supposed to have to stop by the Mac afterwards because you are still hungry. The atmosphere is great, it is well explained what is on your plate and the same applies to the wines.

We were taken by good friends. They have been very enthusiastic about this restaurant for a long time. And yes, we understand that completely now. Everything was right and the new menu was a feast for the eyes and were angels in the mouth. My favorite was the first course fish and meat beautifully presented. In one word: Fantastic! Had dinner with friends at Wolthuis. 5 course dinner. A fantastic experience! Nice chic casual ambiance. Table settings, crockery, etc. excellent and tasteful. Honest, polite and accurate service from the entire team. All dishes served "right on time" with good intervals. The dishes are of high quality and radiate craftsmanship, both in taste and appearance. The advance notice regarding allergies and diabetes was duly taken into account during the entire dinner. Restaurant Het Wolthuis is definitely recommended!!!

Integere, beleefde en accurate bediening van het totale team. Alle gerechten "keurig op tijd" geserveerd met goede tussenpozen. De gerechten zijn van hoge kwaliteit en stralen vakmanschap uit, zowel in smaak als uiterlijk. Met de mededeling vooraf, in verband met allergieën en diabetes, werd gedurende het gehele diner keurig rekening gehouden. Restaurant het Wolthuis is zeer zeker een aanrader !!!

Met 2 vrienden gisteravond geweldig gegeten bij Het Wolthuis. Sfeervol interieur, bijzonder aardige, attente, enthousiaste en ter zake kundige medewerkers en bovendien natuurlijk wat natuurlijk ook heel belangrijk is: het eten. Stuk voor stuk verrassende gerechten Verrassing ook voor een van ons die geen vlees eet, was haar hoofdgerecht. Meestal krijgt ze dan in andere restaurants iets van pasta maar tot haar verrassing was er nu veel aandacht aan besteed. Al met al het was een super avond.

Geluncht op zaterdagmiddag. Allebei een viergangen menu. Porties waren prima van grootte en de gerechten waren erg lekker, met verrassende smaakcombinaties. Een probleempje met het hoofdgerecht werd snel en professioneel opgelost. We komen zeker nog een keer terug. Aandachtspuntjes: strijk het tafellaken even, dat staat veel netter. En de muziek stond vrij hard, maar dat is uiteraard persoonlijk.

One of the best restaurants in Bergen op Zoom

Na 3 eerdere succesvolle bezoeken aan dit restaurant liep gisteravond uit op een flinke teleurstelling. We hadden met 2 personen gekozen voor het 5-gangen verrassingsmenu (keuze bestaat uit 3, 4 of maximaal 5 gangen a €65,- pp). Het voorgerecht viel ronduit tegen qua smaak (een mousse van gerookte Pecorino kaas) waar het bijna een mirakel is om Pecorino die normaal van zichzelf al zeer vol van smaak is zo flets te kunnen laten smaken en van het “gerookte” was helemaal niets te proeven. Het Hoofdgerecht was van het formaat bitterbal met wat kleine versiering eromheen en qua smaak redelijk maar veel te weinig om als hoofdgerecht te kunnen dienen. Toen de bediening vroeg of alles maar wens was, gaven we beiden aan dat het wel heel erg weinig was voor een hoofdgerecht .. Hij ging hier met de keuken en/of Leiding over praten en kwam na enkele minuten terug met de mededeling dat hier in de toekomst rekening mee gehouden zou worden maar er was geen reden om daar nu iets mee te doen! Mochten we na het dessert nog honger hebben dan konden we (tegen betaling weliswaar) nog een kaasplankje nemen (dit dus naast ons 5-gangen diner). Het dessert bestond uit wolkencake en was taai en zeer flauw van smaak (vermoedelijk waren wolken hier het uitgangspunt qua smaak). Na dit droevige dessert maar niet verder geïnvesteerd in het wegnemen van onze honger. Misschien een nieuwe kok of nieuw management maar helaas al met al een droevige prijs/kwaliteit verhouding .

Delicious food for a good price.

Vandaag samen op Valentijns dag genoten van een heerlijke avond in het Wolthuis! In een uitverkocht huis een hartelijke ontvangst gehad, waarna aan onze tafel een lekker drankje. We hebben gekozen voor het 5 gangen Valentijns menu wat ons prima bevallen is. Mooie gerechtjes die geserveerd werden met een korte uitleg, dit alles met bijpassende wijnen. Alles smaakte prima, we hebben genoten!

A fantastic restaurant where you will be surprised again and again with delicious dishes. The dishes are not only a feast for the eyes, but also a taste explosion on your plate. The service is attentive, prompt and explains with enthusiasm what you are being served. We enjoyed a five-course menu with perfectly matched wines – no nonsense, but really well-chosen combinations, including non-alcoholic options (if desired). In addition, lactose intolerance was taken into account, which we greatly appreciated. The presentation has been taken care of down to the last detail, from the beautifully laid out plates to the stylish tableware. Here you will be spoiled again and again. An absolute must for a culinary experience!

Familie Van Loon: zondag 20 oktober waren wij te gast met onze kinderen en kleinkinderen (12 personen) voor het diner. Zoals steeds was het een fantastische ervaring! Gerechten, bediening, sfeer, alles was top. De hartelijke begeleiding door de gastvrouw/sommelier tilde alles nog een niveau hoger! Alle wensen werden meer dan gehonoreerd, zoals gluten-en lactose tolerantie!

Had dinner at Wolthuis with a group of 12 people. They made dinner vegan for 7 people. It was delicious and in no way inferior to the meat dishes. Friendly staff and really delicious food! I can recommend everyone to eat here.

Excellent catering establishment with a very good - even excellent - reputation. Very popular for business meetings. But family dinners are also popular here. Located in the more expensive segment. However, for these occasions it is really worth visiting. Very extensive and varied menu and an excellent drink selection. Situated outside the center of Bergen op Zoom. Service is extremely friendly, hospitable and professional. Parking spaces nearby. A visit to this already much-famed location is more than highly recommended. Keywords are Burgundian and Craftsmanship. A gem of a restaurant.

Our first visit to Het Wolthuis was a fantastic experience on all levels. One big voyage of discovery with super tasty dishes. Very friendly and professional service in a pleasant setting with beautifully laid tables with spotless white starched tablecloths and napkins. All this for a surprisingly good price. This is definitely worth repeating!

Saturday, October 5, 2024. We were 4 people and took the 3-course menu together. Because of the many extras you get, it easily became a 5-course menu. And we were spoiled. The plates are a feast for the eyes, are neatly served by a very young team and provided with a beautiful explanation. Not only the taste buds, but all senses are stimulated to perfection. Our compliments to the owners and their entire team.

Started with an aperitif outside in the garden. Nice atmosphere inside, cozy but still decorated. Deliciously prepared dishes. Fine taste and special wines.

Eind juli waren wij uitgenodigd in Het Wolthuis en hadden wij in alle opzichten een prima ervaring. Reden om eind augustus zelf vrienden uit te nodigen voor een diner in Het Wolthuis. Helaas bleken de ervaringen uit het verleden, geen garantie voor de toekomst. Toevalligerwijs zaten wij aan dezelfde tafel als een maand ervoor, echter nu was het geluid van de andere gasten zo hoog, dat het eigenlijk niet mogelijk was met elkaar te praten. Het geluidsniveau van andere gasten is natuurlijk nooit in te schatten, maar nu viel ons op dat in het interieur "alles hard" en open is; geen gordijnen, harde vloer, geen geluiddempende materialen. Wij bestelden Irish Mòr oesters (heerlijk!) vooraf. Helaas waren er geen 6 p.p. meer (dat kan). Toen wij deze al lang en breed op hadden kregen we eindelijk de menu- en wijnkaart. De vorige keer werd het keuzemenu uitgelegd, nu kregen we de kaart zonder enige toelichting en moesten wij er expliciet om vragen, ook om het wijnarrangement. Duidelijk werd door ons aangegeven, wie van ons een zeer ernstige allergie op garnalen/gamba's/coquilles (niet op oesters) heeft. Bij het serveren van de eerste wijn bij het keuzemenu (de aperitief-wijn was door iemand anders geserveerd) viel ons de zeer sterke, doordringende parfumgeur van de serveerster op, het ruiken van de wijn werd daardoor volledig bedorven. Dit kan echt niet. Wij hebben haar er vriendelijk op gewezen. Bij het vishoofdgerecht zat een garnaal in een wonton. Gelukkig hoorden wij dat bij het serveren en gaven dit aan de bediening aan. De reactie was verbazing en men wist niet of een van de bordjes een wonton zonder garnalen maar met cantharellen had (zoals een maand ervoor). Aangegeven werd dat zelfs ieder klein restant van garnaal op het bord ernstige gevolgen (112 bellen) zou hebben voor de persoon in kwestie. Men bood aan de gerechten van de andere gasten ook weg te halen, maar navraag leverde op dat deze dan onder een warmtelamp geplaatst zouden worden. Er zat niet anders voor ons op, dat 3 personen vast aan hun gerecht begonnen en 1 persoon wat later het aangepaste gerecht kreeg. Bij de kaas kwam een jongeman uitleg geven: een volautomatische bandrecorder met opmerkingen als "deze kaas komt hier uit Twente" (we zaten in toch in Noord Brabant?) en "deze kaas komt uit de "Loirevalley" niet zijnde Siliconvalley? Wij vroegen naar zijn functie: Kok. En hij zou over 2 dagen promotie maken naar een ander restaurant. Dat probleem is dus vanzelf opgelost. Wat ons opviel deze avond was dat er duidelijk in de bediening geen leiding was. Wij hebben wel lekker gegeten, maar deze avond in Het Wolthuis was beduidend minder en reden om een volgende keer geen 160 km vice versa te rijden.

Heerlijk gedineerd alhier met goede vriendin ter ere van mijn verjaardag! Zoals altijd weer zeer genoten! Heerlijke gerechten in combinatie met goed gastheerschap!

We sat in the garden where it was pleasant to stay. About the food, the atmosphere, etc... we can say in one word SUBLIME. The pity is that it is a bit of a drive for us (75 km), otherwise we would be here more often. We think that they receive 12/20 in Gault Millau is too little, they deserve more.

Omdat hij een niertransplantatie heeft gehad zijn zout, rauwe producten uit den boze. Ook moet alles helemaal doorbakken zijn wat niet leuk is voor een chef-kok. Maar ze hebben aan alle wensen voldaan.

Hier wordt je altijd verwend met heerlijke gerechten. Wij laten ons altijd graag verrassen met het verrassing menu. Het vriendelijke personeel legt keurig uit wat voor lekkers er op je bord ligt. De gerechten zien er altijd fantastisch uit en de smaken zijn heerlijk. Ook het servies is prachtig. Het was een heerlijke zomeravond waardoor we in de sfeervolle tuin konden dineren.

Altijd een beleving om hier te eten. Eten is met zorg gemaakt, vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijke wijnen afgestemd bij je menu.

It was wonderful to dine in the Wolthuis, Marco and his staff in the kitchen prepared very beautiful dishes, a delight for the palate. There was a nice atmosphere because of Judith, the owner, and the staff, who did their best to make you feel comfortable. My husband and I went for the 4 course menu (no soup) so we were surprised. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance and really wanted the vegetarian version of the surprise menu. That was possible. Very happy with it! (The 6 photos here give you an impression of what it was like. You can see the gluten-free, lactose-free/vegetarian variant as well as my husband's variant, who can eat everything, shown here.) We know Marco as the chef of restaurant Le Bouleau (which always reminds me of a fairy tale so beautiful in the forest) where we went during festivities. It's great that we have now discovered this spot of the Wolthuis restaurant. And do you like Moscato (white) wine? This one is divine!

We had a great evening. We were a medium sized group to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food was excellent, the service was perfect, extremely friendly and professional. The only small point for improvement is that the room is noisy. Bergen op Zoom has gained a top restaurant.

Enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day lunch. We opted for the 3-course surprise menu and were certainly not disappointed. Compliments also to the service who explained the dishes to us and gave excellent advice about the matching wines. This in combination with the beautiful outdoor location completes the whole picture at restaurant Het Wolthuis.

Fantastic food and super friendly staff. Price-quality ratio is really very good. You get a lot of goodies for your money. Definitely recommended and will come back again!

First of all I have to say that the staff and owner are extremely helpful and flexible. They are happy to discuss wishes and options with the customer and try to meet them if possible. With a group of 20 we had a very good meal, we had to let in too few people in advance, but the extra guests were more than welcome and were helped quickly and politely. All dishes were beautifully served and it is highly recommended to choose the wine pairing. Also I must say that they are very good at serving large groups between serving the first guest and the last sitting for a maximum of 3 minutes and each dish was expertly explained. Portions are large enough and with the 5-course menu you definitely won't go home hungry. The staff is very competent and very polite, all in all a great experience that we would certainly like to do again (in a small way)

Great restaurant. We chose the 4 course dinner with wine pairing. The starter, of course, from the AAA menu, and especially the anchovies, was delicious. Sea bass excellent, dessert too. My wife had the cheese board for which one of the chefs came out of the kitchen to explain. The staff was largely young, but extremely capable. Recommended!

First of all, a beautiful location, from the outside you wouldn't say, wow, but that idea changes immediately when you step inside and the newly created entrance. An extremely friendly lady will meet you, check your booking and guide you to your table. If you are not satisfied, you will immediately consider the option of moving. I think the customer is king here, in every respect. Classically set table. An aperitif is presented and the menu is explained to newcomers. You can Dine à la carte, even during lunch, or you can opt for a multi-course menu. In addition, a wine package is also offered and a mocktail package for non-alcoholic drinkers. I have tried both options and are recommended. This is not the first time I have dined here. From the starter to the dessert and any degestifs, everything has been arranged down to the last detail. You will see beautifully presented gastronomic scenes on your place setting, they are paintings. The flavors are excellent, they are gems. Ten with a pencil if you ask me. Highly recommended.

Very cozy and atmospheric restaurant. Nice and friendly service. This time we went for the 4-course surprise menu, and despite what the name suggests, I was absolutely positively surprised. Very varied and very tasty food. @2024; Been here about 6 times now. Chose the surprise menu every time. Now went for the 5 course menu. Very surprised and all courses matched perfectly. Had a wonderful evening and will definitely come back.

We were there for the first time on Saturday evening, March 2, from arrival to departure, everything was great. The food was surprising and delicious, but I would also like to compliment all the people at the service last night. Although very young, that did not stop her from making us feel welcome as guests and providing excellent explanations about what was going to surprise us each time. I give last night an 11 out of 10 😀. Keep it up, we're already looking forward to next time.
