Restaurant "Kawop" in Wijk 00 Lochem kern

A small restaurant with beautifully set tables. A welcoming and attentive team. And: a delicious meal with a lovely wine pairing. Reservations are recommended.

The steak was supposed to be medium but was well done. One of the four beers arrived in a warm glass. Very small portions. The restaurant and restrooms were messy.

Very tasty food. Not a big menu. Choice is somewhat limited but even if you are a vegetarian or not a fish lover there is a menu. With the group we ordered different menus and all equally delicious and beautifully served. Good wine with it. Friendly service and always on time at the table.

We really enjoyed the game plateau. Pheasant, hare. Deer and roe in all kinds of variants and flavors. Had a delicious Rioja and a very attentive hostess. What a culinary gem in Lochem

Spending a midweek stay in the beautiful apartment 't Begijntje, located above the restaurant, we were pampered for two consecutive evenings in restaurant Kawop, centrally located on the Markt in Lochem. Friendly and knowledgeable lady at the counter. Delicious food and drinks. French chansons in the background. Beautifully decorated spaces. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant, pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Nice outside terrace where you could sit in or out of the sun. The food was delicious, each dish was prepared with great care and love and you could taste it. Definitely recommended.

The “Fruits de Mer” looked beautiful but the taste was disappointing. All fruits de mer were served on ice without any spices or sauces used. However, a moderately tasty bowl of sauce was served with the oysters. On top of the €38 for the main course, we also had to pay for the small salad and fries. There were no vegetables with the main course.

Lovely place to eat, we had dinner there with a nice atmosphere. The staff is super nice and hospitable. When it was raining we were allowed inside right away. The food is of high quality and it tasted delicious. Definitely recommended for an unforgettable dinner!

The new little place in annex to restaurant Kawop called Apéro looks cute and serves drinks that are common elsewhere but in Lochem not so much, so a nice addition to the offer in town. When asking in this bar called “Apéro” for an apéritif at 17:40, the lady told me unfortunately it was not possible because dinner was starting soon and she had no capacity to serve three drinks. I wonder what the idea is for the time to have apéritif, the cuisine being French ; 17:40 is not a strange time to have an apéritif, especially for the many (non local) tourists that bring business into the area. Were all the tables going to turn up at 18:00 sharp overwhelming her capacity? Really disappointing that this part of hospitality is rare in NL, just make the extra effort, you have an apéritif bar, then serve the apéritif and do not send people away.

Excellent food two days in a row. Good service, nice atmosphere and - once again - very good food. Recommended and we would even go for a third time.

Delicious lunch in Lochem! We chose the 2-course lunch menu. We were served olives and toast with lemon tuna beforehand. The starter was salmon and the main course guinea fowl. It all tasted wonderful! Add fine wines and coffee with a tartelet. Excellent service and French chansons in the background. It was just a little too cold to sit on the terrace, so we sat inside. Excellent price-quality ratio. Highly recommended👌🏻

The food was very tasty, although it is a more luxurious restaurant, something we had miscalculated. So you can enjoy an evening of fine dining here if you want.

Service with a smile from a very friendly lady, detailed explanation of the menu and products, fast service and walkthrough of the 3-course menu and to top it all off, incredibly tasty and well-prepared food.

Wauw! Dikke aanrader. Heerlijk gegeten, geweldige bediening, prijs kwaliteitverhouding prima. We voelden ons echt gast, zo genoten!

Voortreffelijk eten. Goede smaak. Dit keer het wild menu, een absolute aanrader. Kleinschalig, zodat er tijd is voor de gasten en je ook niet opeengepakt zit. Rustige, sfeervolle ambiance. En het belangrijkste: vriendelijk en deskundig personeel.

Prima locatie. Lekker buiten gezeten en heerlijke mosselen gegeten. Top.

Klein terras in het centrum van Lochem, waar hard gewerkt werd aan het plein. Goede, nette, vriendelijke bediening. De kleine kaart, was redelijk, maar achteraf gezien, een vrij klein bordje vol, voor veel geld. Prijs en hoeveelheid uit de pas. Wel heerlijk.

Eten was heerlijk. Ruime keuze aan vegetarische gerechten. Zelfs nog een extra vegetarische gerechten die niet op de kaart stond kunnen krijgen. Fijn dat ze van de kaart konden afwijken. Wij komen graag nog een keer terug!

Aangezien ik geen dierlijke eiwitten eet, kreeg ik 1 keuze, nogal mager en voor zo'n restaurant vielen de smaken vh hoofdgerecht tegen, zeer vlak, geen mooie combinaties, gepofte aubergine... ik had meer verwacht van de chefkok. De dag nadat ik deze review oorspronkelijk had gepost, werd ik gebeld door een medewerkster van Kawop, "waarom ik dit had gepost en waarom dit niet ter plaatse was besproken". Dit was ter plaatse besproken, het zou door een medewerkster worden doorgegeven aan de kok. Zaterdagavond hebben wij na het eten nog gezellig koffie gedronken met lekkere bonbons erbij, maar niemand van Kawop die terugkwam op mijn opmerkingen over het eten. Wel werd ik dus die zondag gebeld door een medewerkster/eigenaresse? en op een dusdanig onbeleefde en onheuse manier bejegend, dat ik haar op een gegeven moment heb weggedrukt. Kortom als je geen goede review geeft bij Kawop krijg je een boze medewerkster aan de telefoon, die op een niet mis te verstane manier haar ongenoegen uit. Ik heb hier duidelijk te maken met een ondernemer die niet begrijpt hoe je op kritiek van een klant hoort te reageren. Als je als restaurant geen vegan gerechten wilt of kunt serveren, prima, nee is ook een antwoord bij een reservering, waarbij mijn dieetwensen uitdrukkelijk vermeld stonden. Ik ga in zo'n geval op zoek naar een restaurant waar ze dat wel kunnen en of willen. Bij Kawop komen wij niet meer terug, zeker niet na het zeer onaangename telefoongesprek.

Heerlijk gegeten, restaurant bevindt zich in een mooi pand. Zeer vriendelijke bediening en goede wijnen.

Een pareltje in het centrum van Lochem.( Lochem is sowieso een aanrader, maar dat geheel terzijde)We hebben niet lekker gegeten, nee we hebben fantastisch gegeten. Het was heerlijk. Het was wellicht prijzig, maar kwaliteit kost nu eenmaal geld. Ook was de porties groot genoeg De dames van de bediening deden goed hun werk. Vriendelijk ,wisten waarover ze het hadden en werken erg vlot

Uitstekende service en mooie gerechten!

Kawop is een ideaal restaurant voor kabouters en mensen met een maagverkleining. De porties zijn zo klein dat je ze soms niet terug kan vinden op je bord. En dan is hetgeen door moet gaan voor een lunch ook nog van matige kwaliteit. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is dan ook heel ongunstig. De bediening was vlot en aangenaam.

2e Kerstdag hier geluncht met vrienden. Het eten was voortreffelijk van smaak en temperatuur, de porties waren precies goed, de timing tussen de gangen perfect en de bediening zeer vriendelijk en deskundig. Heel bijzonder: de serveersters begrepen ook de functie van de mistletoe!

Lekker wild gegeten, prettige bediening. Gewoon alles prima. 4 stukjes brood bij hoofdgerecht 3 euro, Wijn 7 euro, maar wel goede wijn.

Mooie avond beleefd in Kawop! We aten allevier het vier-gangen wilddiner. Mooie borden, zeker voldoende qua hoeveelheid, fijne attente bediening.

Prijs kwaliteit (met name de hoeveelheid van alles) is totaal niet in verhouding. Eerst even ergens de maag vullen en dan hier dineren. (Te duur)
