Friendly service, delicious food

A super cute little Greek restaurant in the center of Culemborg. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is incredibly friendly and talented. The food was really good, and the turnaround time was also very good. Not a single negative thing.

I rarely take the time to write a review, no matter how good or bad a restaurant is, but after my visit to Knossos in Culemborg, I'm more than happy to take the time. My name is Ronald, and due to my work, I've eaten at many restaurants, including many Greek ones. I speak from experience when I say that after my visit to Knossos in Culemborg (October 12, 2025), this restaurant has risen to the top of my list of favorite restaurants. The food at Knossos is truly amazing, as is the atmosphere and the hospitable and friendly service. For dessert, I chose Bougatsa for the first time...what a wonderful way to end the evening...super delicious!!! I've also let them know they should never take this dessert off the menu again. I will definitely be back for dinner as soon as possible. Highly recommended, dear people (Ronald October 12, 2025)

Not a great Greek restaurant. The food was disappointing. The gyros was black in places. The flavor of the meat wasn't particularly special either. The tzatziki was very good, though. And all that for 55 euros per person for just the main course and a drink. Next time, I'll go somewhere else.

Had a delicious dinner today. There were 3 people, 1x dish and 1x platter for 2 people. Everything was delicious and went well, afterwards a delicious desert of which I had the baklava, which was also fantastic with delicious ice cream. Super friendly service!

Delicious Greek food in a quiet atmosphere

I found it close to the Turkish palate. Service and music were good. A glass of ouzo and salad came as a treat.

Knossos is exactly what you would expect from a local Greek restaurant... Meat, meat everywhere. It is the place where the average Dutch person satisfies his meat needs in an embarrassing way. Unfortunately, the taste is also tailored to the average Dutch person and the chefs at Knossos are happy to accommodate them with the salt pot. It made the otherwise well-prepared lamb seem too salty. The entourage seems to be a preserved sixties. The acoustics are terrible and the indoor climate is terrible. The service was friendly and smooth. That can certainly be said. I won't waste another word about the desserts. Finally, a warning to vegetarians! You are not welcome! What a travesty in 2025.

Delicious food. Service is friendly and comes by at the right times. The main course was the chicken thigh skewer (Kotopoulo). Surprising taste in combination with the delicious sauce. I will definitely come here more often!

We were away for a night in Culemborg and had dinner here. We both agreed that we have never eaten such delicious Greek food. Fresh dishes and nice portions. The taste was fantastic. The only downside was the bread. The staff had a lot of knowledge about the food and wine and were very friendly. Top restaurant!

Amazing family owned establishment serving up Greek dishes since 1989. Visited late September on a Thursday night, when entered we received a complimentary ouzo 'to warm us up'. Son of the founder, one of the the current owners was our maître and gave us excellent wine advise. Never ever had tasted that wine before, and they told us it was specific to the island it was made on. The chef didn't disappoint either and both my dad & I were sad that our stomach was not bigger. Σίγουρα θα επιστρέψω! Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ!

Cozy and delicious food, very friendly staff

Delicious food in this restaurant. Very good service and handling. With 7 people, some had a starter, everyone had a main course and some also had a dessert. All 7 had a great meal. Highly recommended if you ask me.

Amazing restaurant, the tzatziki and por belly were ridiculosly good!

We had a delicious meal here, the meat was really tender. We got a salad and fries with our menu, personally I would prefer the rice and beans that you get at many Greek restaurants. But there is no point that would prevent us from coming here again.

The food there at Knossos is cozy and atmospheric. The staff is friendly. And it is pleasantly busy. Top and a nice Greek beer Volkan white beer.

Delicious food. No standard meat dish with gyros and souvlaki etc. (they also have them here of course) but stifado and kleptiko. 2 delicious stews. Recommended! Come back faster than 30 years this time.

The food was delicious, fantastically tasty squid rings, soft and airy zaziki, the chicken thighs were buttery tender, but we both thought the gyros were way too salty. A shame, because the taste was lost as a result.

Nice restaurant, good service and fast even though it was busy. I ordered something that was not on the menu, but they were able to arrange it perfectly. This is the place for Greek food! Great and authentic flavors, smooth service and a sincere host. My top 3; the Papadopoulos, Kleftiko and of course the Gyros. Enjoy your meal!

Really super tasty and peaceful food. Meat was great and the zaziki was also special. Not a difficult card, everything fits on an A4 sheet (but double-sided) The only thing I missed a bit was the red rice that is available next to fries at most of my competitors. Benches were a bit hard, but the ambiance was very nice. Service is really great.

Wij komen in dit restaurant al zeker 30 jaar. Sinds de overname van zonen van de oprichter, is de kwaliteit toegenomen. Fijne bediening, erg goed eten met een wisselt menu. Ook zijn er diverse verschillende wijnen te verkrijgen, die bij zonder goed bij een Griekse maaltijd passen!

Fantastische plek om te genieten van de authentieke Griekse keuken. Mooie kaart!! Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Een van de beste restaurants in Culemborg. Gastvrijheid is top!!

Fantastisch restaurant, ze werken met mooie ingrediënten en de passie voor lekker eten staat hoog in het vaandel bij Knossos.

Heerlijk gegeten. Knossos en Papadapoulos (soutzouki, spareribs, buikspek, lamsrack met gyros en tzatziki).

Prima gegeten, aardige bediening en snelle service.

Menukaart met veel mooie verse en smaakvolle gerechten. De bediening is altijd vriendelijk en gastvrij. Een heerlijke plek om te genieten van verschillende smaaksensaties, kleine en grotere gerechten die geschikt zijn om samen te delen. Naast grill ook vele andere keuzes als naast vlees ook bijvoorbeeld octopus en andere vissoorten & vega. Voor ieder wat wils! De combinatie van kwaliteit en gezelligheid maakt dat we hier bijna wekelijks komen!

Erg fijn restaurant. Altijd een goede sfeer, lekker eten. We komen heel regelmatig een vorkje prikken.

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten, ik gaf aan dat ik een kleine eter ben en de eigenaar stelde een kinder menu voor! Daar werd ik heel blij van, want weggooien vind ik echt zonde. Het was weer helemaal top! Fijne bediening erg vriendelijk.

Heerlijk gegeten op een leuke plek in het gezellige Culemborg

Het was weer geweldig! Het eten, de sfeer en vooral ook alle medewerkers!

Als eerst wil ik melden dat het eten zeer goed bereid word en ook geweldig smaakt. Wij hebben de laatste keer het toetje overgeslagen omdat we 20 min op de kaart moesten wachten. Sfeer en aankleding is ook al heel wat jaren hetzelfde, gedateerd. Het is zonde want het eten is echt heel goed!!

Gisteren (25 juni) heerlijk gegeten. Vlees was voortreffelijk gegrild en was heerlijk mals. Zelf aangegeven dat ik geen frietjes wilde. Kreeg ik wat meer (rode) rijst. Je krijgt enorm waar voor je geld. De bediening is vlot en vriendelijk. En dat zelfs terwijl er ook een grote groep aanwezig was. Charl Venus

Heerlijk eten, geweldige bediening en prima sfeer. Als je van de Griekse keuken houd dan is dit the place to be in Culemborg. Toppertje....

We komen al 10-15 jaar hier om Grieks te eten... wij, ik en mijn vrouw, zijn het er serieus over eens dat Knossos verbeterd is de afgelopen jaren. Mijn vrouw had de sardines als voorgerecht (3 stuks, heel smakelijk, en als voorgerecht misschien wel 1 te veel..😉) de gebakken courgette was ook een rijkelijk, en lekker voorgerecht. Gyros met paprika saus en schapenkaas uit de oven, was voortreffelijk (sorry, ik eet geen kaas, dus de aanbeveling komt van mijn vrouw) Zelf had ik samen met m'n zoon de Knossos gril schaal... werkelijk voortreffelijk. Ja, natuurlijk is het op vrijdag en zaterdag avond druk, ze houden wel oog voor de kwaliteit die op tafel komt. Daarnaast bieden ze ook Metaxa aan die niet reguleer verkrijgbaar is bij een doorsnee Grieks restaurant ( Metaxa Reserve, het engeltje dat...) Een trotse eigenaar met vriendelijk personeel, die hard werken om het je als gast een Griekse beleving willen geven.

Echt super lekker gegeten en gedronken. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Al met al echt top!
