We had a nice evening; the food was good but nothing special. You really felt like you were in Italy, which was nice. All in all, I thought it was a bit pricey for what you got. The service was relaxed and friendly.

Had a lovely meal at a table in the courtyard/garden. Very friendly service, nice atmosphere and good food with a home-made Limoncello at the end. Only tip: chairs with better seating comfort.

on recommendation and after reading several reviews booked a reservation at this Restaurant Rusticana. I am a hospitality professional in heart and soul and walk around in our own restaurant every day. Guest experience is high on our list and perhaps that is why I am too critical and my expectations for this restaurant were also quite high. Still I have to say that it was disappointing for me and my wife. a few points: *too tight and businesslike/cold upon arrival, little atmosphere *many tables in little space *no Italian background music *when I asked for authentic Italian special beer they have a large Brabants Nederlands? brand as a house brand, I would expect a brand like Baladin, Birra Gjulia or Menabrea at an authentic Italian. *waiting staff no line in work clothes *bread for the guests was cut in full view of the guests by several people with bare hands, no gloves or cloth for this. *staff does not use a tray to empty wine, water and lemonade bottles, but simply walks to the service counter with the empty bottles and glassware in their hands. Probably work in a bar around the corner on other days. *my wife's dishes were quite tasteless for an Italian kitchen and the presentation of my main course "lobster with spicy linguine pasta" was missing. Half the lobster was under a mountain of pasta that had been thrown on top. The presentation could certainly be better, the taste was good. as said before, guest experience is very important and here the price that is asked for the dishes in relation to what is offered is not good. Also missed a real host/hostess who welcomes the guests at an authentic Italian. Too bad!

For many years the best restaurant in the area. Unmatched. The service is professional and friendly, the dishes are always better than expected. There is a wide choice of good wines and they also give excellent advice. I have never eaten anything here that I thought afterwards "yes, that was nice". It is always better than hoped. We always go home with a big smile on our faces.

Great kitchen, courteous and competent staff

Visited this gem years ago. It was sublime then, more than fine now. Delicious food and excellent service. The only comment was the somewhat modest menu. But top restaurant, special atmosphere and delicious food. Compliments.

Tasty Italian with a varied menu.

Fantastic, I had a delicious meal, such sweet service, really the best restaurant ever. Never given a restaurant a review before, but this restaurant really deserves it.

We sat comfortably in a separate room and enjoyed delicious dishes with the whole family.

Excellent little Italian restaurant. Very attentive staff. High quality food and what I think is reasonable value due the quality.

The taste is fantastic. The three stars are based on no vegetarian option for a main course. The site states that people would like to know in advance whether a vegetarian will be joining us for dinner, nicely done. What that was good for, I have no idea. Unfortunately, very few options. No option for main course. The taste is great by the way! There's no doubt about that.

The service was nice, and the starters and main course were excellent, great flavors and presentation. However, the bread was disappointing, and the Panna Cotta was overly sweet for our taste.

Delicious food! The two of us took 3 entrees. All very tasty. The atmosphere at the front of the restaurant is very nice! We sat in the middle section. It is a lot quieter here, but without atmosphere. Even though it is an Italian restaurant, you cannot get pizzas there.

Delicious food, beautiful Italian ambience (outside anyway!), friendly staff. Quite pricey. Went again today after a 4 year break. The price has become a little higher. Glasses of wine are poured less full and the plates are also smaller than before. I fear for the owner that he will not be able to keep this up for long. Too bad, it's a lot of fun, but it's actually too crazy to describe how expensive it is.

The dishes were mediocre but the service was terrible! We had to ask for everything at least twice. For water, to have the wine menu, for dessert.. we got our starters and we still had to order drinks.. no one realy came to us during dining instead we had to look for someone to call for like standard things.. After a long time that we were done eating our main course, we asked for the dessert menu since no one offered it and when we ate our dessert around 22:00 we asked for a coffee and the waiter said that the coffee machine was at the dish washer (????) My friends asked for an amaro (a bitter) and we almost got an Amarone or an amarena (not sure if the staff knew the difference) We never going to visit this place again.. the wairlter was rude and out of place.. Not value for money and for sure not Italian restaurant, at least not any more. Dissapointment.

The service was terrible. The dishes were mediocre. We had to ask for everything. The waiter seemed to be absent and not really helpful. After the dessert we asked for a coffee and the waiter said that the coffee machine was at the dish washer ? Finally, we visited a couple times this restaurant and we were pleased with the service. But this time was a terrible experience.

Top Italiaans restaurant, fantastisch gegeten, de kok de vrije keus gegeven voor een 4 gangen menu met bijpassend wijnarrangement. Prettige bediening, goede uitleg en fijn in de omgang.

Alles klopt hier. Goede bediening. Heerlijke gerechten. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar als we weer in Arnhem zijn. En ook zeer zeker een aanrader als je in Arnhem bent en van traditioneel Italiaans eten houdt.

Scandalous! - Wine ordered, but starters at the table before the wine. - Vitello tonnato should be served pink and not grey - service doesn't even know the difference between amarone and amarena. Explanation of grappa made no sense. . (If you don't know something, say so, but don't make the guests look stupid) (neighboring table) - 2 espressos for €7.50? Excuse!? Asking which beans, double roasted or not, no answer, only "will be good ones". As an Italian myself this is very disappointing.

Che desastro Ik had het al moeten weten toen ik bij binnenkomst doffe wijnglazen op onze tafel zeg staan. Ontvangen door een, in mijn ogen, voor de horeca volstrekt ongeschikte gastvrouw. Ze sprak geen Nederlands alleen Engels en Italiaans. Toen ik aangaf dat ze tegen mij en mijn zoon Italiaans kon praten en tegen de anderen Engels bleef ze in de meeste gevallen Engels praten. Geen vriendelijkheid. Niets Besteld Carpaccio. Erg waterig en smakeloos. En dat voor de hoofdprijs van bijna 20 euro. Jeugd wilde cola. We hebben alleen zero??….??? Hoezo?? Wilt u ijs en citroen. Ja graag. Kwam uiteraard zonder. Hoofdgerecht. Tournedos. 2 maal met boter ipv saus. En met aardappelen, 2 keer bevestigd door gastvrouw. Gebakken aardappels op bord. Hoofdgerechten kwamen. Met aardappel puree en zonder boter. Er kwam gedurende het eten ook niemand vragen of alles naar wens was. Dus …. Bij het afruimen maar aangegeven dat we teleurgesteld waren. O sorry sorry daarna een andere ober. Ja vervelend wat kan ik nog voor u doen. Wat had u in gedachten zei mijn vrouw. Geen antwoord en niet meer aan tafel gezien. Na 10 minuten kwam de Italiaanse dame weer of we de dessertkaart nog wilde zien. Of dat ze koffie of wijn mocht aanbieden. Momentum ruimschoots voorbij. Laat maar. Afgerekend een fors bedrag. En daarbij vroeg een jonge man wat er precies gebeurd was. Hij zou het bespreken met zijn manager. Meest sneu nog voor de 20e verjaardag van mijn zoon. Wat en deceptie.

With potato puree and without butter. During the meal, no one came to ask if everything was to your liking. So…. When clearing the table, we indicated that we were disappointed. Oh sorry sorry then another waiter. Yes, annoying, what can I do for you? What did you have in mind, my wife said. No answer and not seen at the table again. After 10 minutes the Italian lady came again to ask if we wanted to see the dessert menu. Or that she could offer coffee or wine. Momentum well over. Never mind. Paid a large amount. And then a young man asked what exactly had happened. He would discuss it with his manager. Most sad for my son's 20th birthday. What and deception.

Delicious, genuine Italian dishes of high quality

Went to this restaurant on the advice of people from Arnhem. We ourselves come from the Amsterdam area. The restaurant looks chic from the outside, neatly laid tables, with flowers, candle and wine glasses. Were kindly received. Took a while before anyone was at the table. Two ladies, one of whom spoke English and one Dutch. We were asked if we found it annoying to have our conversation in English. We were okay with that. We wanted a bottle of red wine with water. We got the wine list. We would have appreciated it if we had been recommended a wine after we had made our choice of food. Wine was neatly poured. Smooth aftertaste, we didn't think so, rather astringent. Ordered water never received. We are vegetarian, truffle with mushroom was okay, but not special, especially for the price. The risotto was tasty, but not finger-licking good. Desserts were also tasty, nothing special. When paying, there was an extra wine bottle. Sloppy. Price quality was not in proportion, not surprised by the explosion of taste. We would not recommend this restaurant. Service very inexperienced and not enthusiastic.

Very good, classic Italian in Arnhem. Classic atmosphere, classic dishes and classic wines. Highly recommended.

We have now been guests at Rusticana a few times. And we have always had a delicious meal there. Beautiful dishes, fine wines, good staff.

Always delicious food. However, on my critical note regarding the pappardella with boar (primi), that the meat was not sufficiently cooked and it was not clearly communicated to me that it was a wild boar shank with bone, I am very sorry that there was no feedback from the waitress. They must be able to deal with feedback. Don't come and eat a sandwich.

One day I was visiting Arnhem on business and decided to stop by the city in the afternoon for dinner, I found this Italian restaurant and went in to see what it was like. The food was good, authentically Italian but what I liked most about my dinner was the service. There was a girl with curly hair, tall and charismatic named Monica. She was very educated and intelligent, she speaks several languages ​​including Spanish which I really liked since I felt at home. Her service really made my night special. I recommend this restaurant. P.S: the tiramisu is very delicious :)

My first impression was pretty good, the atmosphere was nice and the service behaved accordingly. But now this So my steak was medium rare and almost frozen and what I didn't like at all was the facial expression and the behavior of the waitress when I only gave her an 8 euro tip, so that was cheeky!!

Food was OK! too expensive for what it was, ambience very nice and classy. Service is unfriendly and value for money is not there! I definitely recommend another restaurant

Fantastisch Italiaans restaurant!

Ondanks wat ik hier veel in de reviews lees, eet je hier *niet* authentiek Italiaans. Twintig jaar geleden misschien, maar nu is de authenticiteit slechts nog een schim. Amuse van huisgemaakt focaccia smaakt droog, voorgerecht paraham met meloen, waar de meloen hard en smaakloos is. Tussengerecht bleek een enorm bord pasta met bolognese saus, klonten rundergehakt en neppe schilfers kaas. Ook de tiramisu was geen tiramisu te noemen. Gerechten zijn vreemd en on-Italiaans gegarneerd met rucola, stukjes ui… de bediening is wel ontzettend vriendelijk!

Kwalitatief heel goed eten voor hele gezelschap, fijne bediening, rustige atmosfeer, heerlijke avond gehad.

Al jarenlang een aanrader in Arnhem. Zeker met mooi weer in de binnentuin, net of je echt in Italië bent. Advies: probeer het eens.

It’s one of the better traditional Italian restaurants in the area, in a partial 18th century building. It’s definitely in need of some renovation and possibly an upgrade. Service is fine, but not excellent. Don’t go here for fine dining or 100% authentic food, but they master their craft for a reasonable prize.

Een heerlijk rustpuntje in Arnhem waar de kwaliteit op de je bordt als een zonnetje naar je lacht. Fantastisch!

Heeerlijk gegeten. Fijne en prettige bediening ( wel deels Engels). Lekker druk bezocht voor een dinsdag. Beetje outdatedinterior.

Gewoon erg goed m.n. Noord-Italiaans eten. Bediening in het Engels zorgde hier en daar voor wat miscommunicatie, niet onoverkomelijk. Niet goedkoop, maar prima in verhouding

Italiaans op z'n best. Heerlijke gerechten en ruime keuze met de extra kaart. Te veel lekkers stond er op. Gekozen voor de proeverij bij voorgerechten en de pasta met kreeft en krab. Vriendelijk personeel. Ik kom hier graag nog eens terug.

Super goed eten. Bediening super vriendelijk. Tafel wordt precies zo gedekt als dat het volgens standaard high end horeca regels geldt. Ze legde elke gang perfect uit. Ze deden alles precies bakken zoals wij het wilde. Zelfs bij elke gang deden ze een andere wijn aanbieden. Zelfs nog nagekletst met de bediening en kregen nog wat grappa als proeverij. Als je high end Italiaans wilt eten, dan moet je hier zijn.

Altijd heerlijk eten. Ons favoriete Italiaans restaurant van arnhem. Helemaal als je in de binnentuin kunt eten!
