We ate here for the first time yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. One large platter with various dishes, eaten with your hands, of course. The flavors were excellent and the food was very diverse, highly recommended!

Like so many other customers I found the food to be excellent. There were plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options on the menu. I chose the Mogogo mix with meat which was delicious. I did not have to wait a long time for my food. I waited a little while, but appreciated that my meal was freshly prepared. The lady who seemed to be both the waitress and cook was very pleasant and kind and asked me about my preferred level of spice before starting to cook. I highly recommend Mogogo for anybody looking for a really flavourful meal that's quite different to other cuisines. You won't be disappointed.

Very warm welcome despite the late hour for the Netherlands. The owner was very kind, and everything is homemade. Delicious food with a choice of spices. Highly recommended.

The food tasted good, but the meal in the photo cost us €45 (!) for two people. Quite expensive, we thought. We also waited at least an hour for our food. Not a big deal, but good to know.

A lovely experience! It's been a long time since we've eaten Ethiopian food and enjoyed the delicious aromas and flavors. And it's taking some getting used to eating with our hands again! The place could really use a refresh. Who can help this lovely lady with a fresh coat of paint and some nice music and decor? Just for the change of pace on Prinsenstraat, places like this should stay!

Small, cozy place with great options. The owner is super sweet and I thinks he cooks everything herself (fresh) so it takes a while but I really don't mind! The food is worth the wait :)

Heerlijk vers gemaakt eten. Hou er rekening mee dat het even wachten is, omdat alles ter plekke wordt gemaakt door één persoon. Het is het wachten zeker waard. De mogogo mix is een aanrader.

I came in half a hour after opening, but she actually just opened, so the place looked closed. Since I was looking forward to sit down and eat here I asked if I could come in or should come back later. I stayed :) Not a very chatty place which made me feel slightly uncomfortable. As I looked around I noticed the place did not give me the same positive vibe as I got from the website. I'd suggest they do not use Youtube for the music (incl. the many advertisements), fix the broken 'Mosob' and maybe start welcoming people in a bit more. Also, my reservation was not confirmed, but since I was the only one there this wasn't a problem. The 'Sambusa' with meat was tasteful and the main course 'Mogogo' with meat delicious. An experience with mixed feelings.

Last night I had dinner at Mogogo with my wife in honor of our 12th anniversary. Upon entering, you are immediately pleasantly surprised by the attractive decoration. We received a very warm welcome from the modest but charming owner. We were quickly provided with drinks and ordered the vegetarian and meat mix. Because she does everything in the restaurant herself, it took a while before the meal was on the table. This gave us the opportunity to absorb the authentic atmosphere. While waiting, delicious smells came towards us from the kitchen. At this point the experience was already successful. We were given bowls of water to wash our hands as the food must be consumed without cutlery. The food was served on a large plate and not only smelled heavenly but looked good and colorful. It immediately became clear to us that this was more than worth the wait. From the first bite I was overwhelmed by a taste sensation that I had never experienced before. All the different flavors matched perfectly. The food was deliciously seasoned and just spicy enough. My only regret is not discovering Mogogo sooner. Madam has had her restaurant since 1997 and the experience is palpable. I read few negative reviews especially about the waiting time. My answer to this is: Quality knows no time. If you want a quick bite, there are plenty of fast food chains in the center where you can enjoy poor-quality food. However, if you want to enjoy delicious African delicacies, Mogogo is the place for you. When I went to pay, there was one last pleasant surprise waiting for me. The price was also very reasonable considering the quality. We had a great anniversary thanks to Mogogo. This was certainly not the last time we visited here. If I could give more than five stars I would.

Het bier was meteen op, het eten kwam pas na anderhalf uur, en ze bracht een schaal te weinig zodat vier mensen geen eten hadden. Slechtste restaurant wat ik ooit heb bezocht.

Very nice food. The owner lady is very nice. Yes the food took 45mns to arrive but it's all made fresh and very good quality. I recommend the place.

You have to bring a little time with you, which is a given for us! The food was a divine gift and the hospitality was more than satisfactory! We didn't know Futfut yet and it was a poem thank you for everything

We brachten weer eens een bezoek aan Mogogo, een authentiek Eritrees Ethiopisch Restaurant, sinds 1997, waar we een jaar of 22 en 2 á 3 locaties geleden ook al eens geweest waren. De erg vriendelijke eigenaresse kende ons nog. Erg lekker eten. Met je handen eten met pannenkoekjes. Lekkere kruidige gerechten. Wel wat langere wachttijd want de, nog steeds dezelfde, eigenaresse doet de bediening en de bereiding van de gerechten geheel in haar eentje. Respect!

Heerlijk gegeten, prachtig geserveerd, lieve eigenaresse. Zeker aan te raden!

Heb samen met mijn liefje heel erg lekker gegeten bij Mogogo en Miriam de eigenaresse heeft ons helemaal in de watten gelegd met haar gastvrijheid!!!

Very sweet restaurant and owner. The food was absolutely delicious.

This is literally a one woman show. The food is authentic and a good taste of Eritrea. Do not expect to come here and eat right away. It's one amazing woman who is in charge of everything and she puts her heart and love into the food. Be sure to try the banana or coconut beer!

Hier kun je echt heerlijk Eritrees eten! Het duurt wel wat langer, omdat alles vers voor je gemaakt wordt, maar het is het wachten zeker waard.

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten bij Mogogo met mijn ouders. Service was prima en het eten was uitstekend en er kon ook met pin betaald worden.

I had my first Eritrean course tonight. The food at Mogogo is absolutly worth waitng for, it is so delicious!

Everything is freshly cooked (so yes, prepare to wait for a bit longer than you might be used to) and the flavours are amazing! Keep rediscovering this restaurant every once in a while and its always equally delicious!

Aanrader voor als je een keer iets anders wilt. Heerlijke smaakcombinaties, een vriendelijke bediening en met je handen eten. Wat wil je nog meer? Bananenbier! Dat hebben ze ook...

Superlekker gastvrij een aanrader!

Eten heel erg lekker, maar je moet wel de tijd en het geduld hebben want het opdienen duurde behoorlijk lang.....

Eten was goed maar t duurde meer dan1,5 uur voordat we het op tafel hadden. Je kan er niet pinnen, je krijgt het bankrekeningnummer van de zaak waarop je via je telefoon kan laten overschrijven. De vrouw die ons drinken verschafte stond kennelijk ook en alleen in de keuken. Het herencollectie kon met veel moeite op slot en dat kwam omdat de deur flink klemde...jammer wel want het eten was echt klasse

I had a memorable experience here in 2019. We had a group of 10 and arrived about 9:30pm. The sweet lady we met there was the waiter, chef, etc. We were incredibly hungry and couldn’t wait to eat so 2 of us joined the chef in kitchen to help even though she declined our offer to help several times. It was like a cooking class😍. We just chopped some veggies and stirred a simmering pot but we got to ask questions about some of the ingredients. A friend of hers came by to drop off supplies and said “Great you got some people to help!”. She was shocked when the chef said we were patrons at the restaurant. That gave us a good laugh🤣. When dinner was ready we had some honey wine that was sweet and absolutely delicious with our equally delicious dinner. I can’t wait to visit this restaurant again!!!

Het duurt echt wel even om het eten te bereiden. Maar wat je dan krijgt is heerlijk. De vegetarische fut fut was hemels. Kom er altijd graag.

Bestaat denk ik al meer dan 20 jaar. En dat is niet vanwege het samen met je hand eten. Het is echt bijzonder smaakvol. Een ware traktatie. De gerechten worden vers bereid, dus hou rekening met een wat langere bereidingstijd. Wij hadden ook onze kinderen bij en die konden de smaken (en vooral de kip) goed waarderen. Echt samen eten. Vriendelijke bediening.

Heerlijk gegeten in de Eritrese keuken. Goed verzorgd, aardige gastvrouw.

Super fijn dat ze weer open zijn! We hebben heerlijk gegeten en er is altijd een heel aardige gastvrouw! Zeker een aanrader als je in den haag bent en houd van authentiek Ethiopisch eten :)

Alles echt superlekker op smaak! Ze waren eigenlijk niet open maar hebben speciaal voor ons ivm verjaardag toch wat gemaakt! Er miste helaas wat van de bestelling maar dat komen we zeker proeven als de lockdown voorbij is!

My favourite restaurant in the Hague. Made by 1 lady and the cuisine taste very authentic (i think, as i never been to eritrea) and delicious. Especially recommended if like South East Asian delicacy. If confused by menu just order mogogo mix

me and my friend had a great time eating here! It took a while for our food to be ready as is often the case with good food. We are both vegetarian and ordered the chickpeas and lentils. I make these dishes myself pretty often but it truly showed that someone with a mastery of a cuisine makes food that is significantly better tasting, smelling and looking than an amateur cook like me! The lady who did the service for us was very friendly. We realise that restaurants have a hard time financially right now so it would be nice for any visitors to order drinks to support the restaurant.

Delicious Eritrean/Ethiopian food, you have to wait for sometime as it seems the restaurant runs only by two persons. I highly recommend it.

Gelukkig dat Mogogo vanavond open was. Een ideale plek om te onthaasten en eerlijk en heerlijk te eten. Het inktvisvoorgerecht was onovertroffen. Alleen met dat voorgerecht was het bezoek al geslaagd. De tafels staan verder op prima afstand van elkaar. Bediening was prima.

Caminando por el centro de La Haya nos encontramos con este pequeño restaurante etíope / eritreo. Y como queríamos comer algo completamente diferente, decidimos ir a MoGoGo. Este restaurante está dirigido por una señora, tanto en cocina como en restaurante. Las comidas son típicas de esta parte de África. Todas las comidas se sirven en un plato grande con varios panqueques (locales) como cuchara / pan / combinación con una gran variedad de verduras, carne o pescado y papas. El sabor es excelente, los precios muy aceptables. Nos gustó.
