Restaurant Roka in Wijk 10 Binnenstad

We had a delicious meal. The service was also top-notch!

Delicious, fresh food with a very cozy atmosphere. A nice outing, but not cheap.

The restaurant has changed its name (was Roka), same location. The food is very good, especially regarding the fish; however, the steak is disappointing, quite tough even when cooked medium. The price-quality ratio for the steak is poor; it is very expensive. The space is open and not very cozy. I noticed that my clothes smell like the restaurant.

Had a delicious meal and super friendly service.

We had another delicious dinner for two last Friday. After an amazing sushi boat as a starter, the chef surprised us with three delicious dishes. Highly recommended!

Always delicious food and a lovely evening at Kobu. Formerly known as Roka. The name has changed, but the food is just as top-notch as before. Everyone is very hospitable and friendly.

This is and remains my favorite restaurant in Helmond. My husband and I try to come here every year on our wedding anniversary because it is not only a feast for our taste buds, but also celebrates us as people. The sushi is INCREDIBLE, the service is sublime, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. If you are in or live in Helmond or the surrounding area, go here!

A regular haunt for me and my wife. We have been here several times now, and it is a delight every single time. Beautiful, well-balanced Japanese-style dishes with great attention to detail, and incredibly friendly and welcoming service. Highly recommended!

Nothing but praise for restaurant Kobu. Upon entering Kobu, we immediately felt a bit like we were back in one of the many Japanese restaurants we visited in Japan itself. The staff is very quick, provides clear explanations, and is very friendly. There is plenty of choice on the menu, with something for everyone. My wife doesn't eat fish, but that wasn't a problem at Kobu; there are plenty of fish-free dishes on the menu. The food tasted fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!

Excellent dinner and service, far exceeded our expectations, this place is a hidden Gem, the taste of the lobster is out of this world and sushi is 2nd to none. We will definitely recommend this Gem if you are in the area.

We had such a wonderful meal here! The food is incredibly tasty and fresh. Everything is truly an explosion of flavor. The flavors are so beautifully balanced, and the combinations of spices and ingredients are truly special. You can taste that the cooking here is done with great care and love. And the staff is truly fantastic. Everyone is so friendly, attentive, and really helpful. The wines served with the dishes are also perfectly chosen. And if you need any help or advice, you always get a nice and fitting tip. We have eaten here twice now and will definitely be back! Highly recommended if you love delicious, fresh Asian food and unique, surprising flavors.

It's been years since we last had an excellent meal! Super friendly service. We won't let too much time pass before the next time😄

Wow!! Always top-notch food and enthusiastic service. The lobster was delicious, highly recommended. They lovingly explain the best way to eat the lobster, no matter how skilled you are with the cutlery (read: tongs and small pin). You feel welcome there.

If you’re in Helmond check out this gem if you like sushi. Friendly people good service and great food.

Amazing food... super friendly service and beautiful surroundings

Recently, Roka is no longer called Roka. The restaurant is now called Kobu. You can see the changes in the new logo, which is clearly visible everywhere, and in the menu featuring the sharing dinner concept. What has remained are the same owners, and therefore the high quality standard of the service and the food. We (once again) enjoyed a wide range of fish dishes; from squid to red snapper fillet, from scallops to a pointed cabbage pancake with shrimp. Delicious. Do you like meat or are you vegetarian? You will feast on that too. Kobu is highly recommended.

We had a delicious meal! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi was super tasty, and the other dishes were top-notch too. Additionally, the service was friendly, and we were served quickly. A lovely atmosphere and definitely a restaurant we would love to return to. Highly recommended!

A name change doesn't always turn out well. After Kobu was first called Roka, we visited regularly; it was always top-notch! We went recently out of curiosity, and we are actually quite disappointed. The sushi was certainly very tasty, as was the fried chicken thigh, but the main course was a real letdown, unfortunately; my half lobster (at nearly €30) was the size of an oversized prawn. I struggled to get four bites out of it... no, "never change a winning team" certainly applies here... it is no longer in proportion.

Unfortunately this is not my type of food. I was attending a works party. But from all accounts. The food was excellent. What is can comment on is the service was second to none.

Best Japanese restaurant ever!!! Great service, we were guided through each of the four courses. Lobster explanation included 👍 If I lived here, this would be my first choice. I don't usually like sushi, but this was incredibly delicious.

Yesterday, once again at restaurant Kobu gegegen; formerly Roka. The food was fantastic once again, and the service and atmosphere were top-notch. Highly recommended. A gem in Helmond.

No A/C in a very hot day of 31C, I expected more flavors and more dessert options.

In one word: Excellent! As avid connoisseurs of Japanese cuisine and frequent visitors to Japanese restaurants, we dined at Kobu Izakaya in Helmond for the first time tonight. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, who made suggestions in an extremely professional manner, taking into account the allergy indicated in the reservation. The menu is very extensive, the sashimi and uramaki were top quality, and the service was very pleasant and correct. In short: a great experience, a quality restaurant that I highly recommend. They will see us here very often!

Dining at Kobu for the first time. A very pleasant experience. Excellent food, top-notch service. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Excellent restaurant, very good in every aspect. We have been coming here for years (formerly Restaurant ROKA). Stylish decor, pleasant service (polite but not too formal), and of course, very tasty food. The people take your night out seriously: the guest is the focus, right down to holding the door open upon departure.

Had a delicious meal at the best restaurant in Helmond! Super hospitable and an excellent wine list.

We had a delicious meal yesterday. The sushi was delicious. The seafood specialty my husband had was, according to him, also perfect. And I savored the picanha. The service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Sushi and other dishes, shared dining. Friendly service and good food.

Had a delicious meal today! Service is top-notch! Highly recommended.

Nice vegetarian selection, also a nice dedicated service

Great restaurant. One of the best restaurants in Helmond.

Great welcome, very tasty vegetarian options, nice enthusiastic service, we will definitely come back

We had a fantastic meal, the staff was super friendly, for us it was a Michelin star restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed Roka's Christmas menu tonight. It was fantastic, with the usual hospitality and cozy atmosphere.

If you want to eat amazingly delicious sushi, it’s this place! 😍 My friend, who was here with me, said that in Japan she ate the same taste. Can there be a better compliment? ☺️ Oh and the stuff was sooo kind and sweet with us which is an extra bonus! ☺️

What an experience! A great restaurant with fantastic food and very pleasant and friendly service. The sharing dinner is especially recommended. Highly recommended for a wonderful night out!

What a lovely restaurant with excellent service. The food is really good! Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of this restaurant again. It's always nice to be here.

Very friendly and welcoming. We had a group of 5 and were accommodated well. Food was delicious and atmosphere was nice.

Outstanding food and service. We had a lovely mix of Japanese appetizers like sushi and dumplings, followed by a steak as a main course. All of excellent quality and flavor. The Asian sauces were very good. A great red wine recommendation was also provided! The staff was very quick, friendly, and attentive, especially since the owner is present and always in a great mood. Her husband, a master chef, is in the kitchen. The restaurant is located in the pedestrian zone, so parking is available outside.

What a fantastic restaurant! We had the four-course surprise menu, and everything was delicious. We had oysters as a starter, and they were also delicious. The staff were very knowledgeable about the dishes, and our table was cleared on time. We had a lovely table by the window, and the view of the open kitchen made us feel very comfortable. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back soon.

Very good Japanese restaurant. Good atmosphere for a pleasant evening. A little pricey but the quality is there, so that says it all. I will come back.

Delicious food and great service! Definitely coming back!

Without a doubt, this is the best Japanese restaurant in the Netherlands! I can’t wait to come back. Hats off to the chef! The staff were equally amazing — incredibly friendly, fast, and thoughtful. Truly an outstanding experience!

A warm blanket of hospitality and fantastic dishes.

We were there for a company meeting and it was something special. We just ordered a bit of everything and just shared it. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. I highly recommend

Friendly staff, delicious food, recommended ❣️

Fresh and very good Food. Service is very friendly. Every time again. I would like to give more than 5 stars.

Nice Italian restaurant with tasty quality food, how you would expect from italian kitchen. On top you get good survive with a nice atmosphere watching at a church. If you like it a bit calmer and care about food this is a good place to have dinner!

The food was excellent and the service more than that. I asked for very less salt. Not easy for Japanese food. They where very helpful in helping with that. And it tasted super. Even with very less salt and soja Thanks

Restaurant Roka knows how to impress time and time again. The menu was once again top-notch – creative, tasty and perfectly balanced. Every dish was a feast on the plate and for the taste buds. The ingredients are clearly of high quality and are prepared with great care. What makes Roka really special is the service. As always, it was excellent: friendly, attentive and professional. You really feel welcome and appreciated as a guest. In short, an absolute must for anyone who loves good food and hospitality at its best. We will definitely be back soon!

I went alone for dinner. The advice and service were excellent, and the price-performance ratio was unbeatable. I recommend it!

Strange situation there; Outside store opening hours, outside the terrace, we were asked if we were going to eat there. If so, we could park our bicycles there. If not, we'll have to put them somewhere else. And that on a Tuesday evening when they can be happy with all the visitors. We spontaneously went to dinner with the neighbors.

Approximately four years ago, I had the delightful opportunity to dine at this particular restaurant for the very first time, and I was thoroughly captivated by the exceptional quality of the culinary offerings as well as the genuinely warm and highly professional service provided by the staff. Having returned repeatedly, I find great pleasure in enjoying and admiring the exquisite Japanese dishes. When I plan to treat my family, friends, or colleagues to dinner, ROKA is always my top pick. If you happen to stay or live in the Eindhoven area and are in search of a truly remarkable and delightful dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend that you take the time to explore the culinary offerings at ROKA. If you love Japanese food, you won't find a more perfect place!

A magnificent taste journey, without a doubt the best Japanese restaurant visited so far. I recommend with your eyes closed. A fireworks display of flavor in every bite. A very warm welcome. Happy tasting!

The food and service were perfect. We enjoyed ourselves. The place is also very charming.

Best sushi in the area. Will definitely come back again.

Really delicious food and the service is top notch.

Super tasty food and very friendly service 10/10

Had a delicious meal at Roka tonight.

Great. Delicious food. Highly recommended

In one word, great! Delicious food, great staff and the owners are also great!! Highly recommended!

The tastiest sushi I ever ate, was in Helmond for work. And my colleague found this restaurant. Unfortunately I live 2 hours away from here. But if I'm ever in Helmond again I will definitely come back

The price-value ratio for sushi is so much out of balance. I felt sushi were not even close to what you could expect for that price (taste and content wise), speaking from experience in other sushi places in NL. Would I personally recommend this place? No, not really. Unjustifyingly expensive.

Delicious food, nice restaurant. The only downside is that it is very noisy.

Unexpectedly nice sushi restaurant in Helmond. Went on a dinner date and left with a fulfilling dinner & good vibes thanks to the friendly staff. As recommended by others the Sushi boot is a good pick. The open kitchen and the ambience in general is very pleasant. We got a window seat with excellent views to the church on a rainy night. The dessert was icing on the cake! Although it might be a tad bit expensive, its much better than all those all you can eat sushis which can compromise on the quality of the food. Decide for yourself by giving Roka restaurant a chance!

Tasty food, very hospitable staff. We enjoy coming to eat and will definitely come back!

Aanrader!

The food was delicious. Only the beef was a bit overcooked, close to done, even though I ordered rare/medium. The dessert from the surprise menu was also a bit too sweet for my taste.

Tasty food at a decent price. Friendly service. Our wishes were very well taken into account.

You will be warmly welcomed in a friendly atmosphere. What immediately stands out is the open kitchen and modern luxurious furnishings. We got a table in front of the window, perfect if there are 2 of you. The sushi boat is highly recommended. It was a pleasure to see my date's satisfied smile with her first bite. You immediately taste that this is not standard sushi and the fresh aromas you taste are next level. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. So if you want to impress someone, this is definitely recommended.

Staff and food are really great!

Fortunately, I was able to get a last-minute spot in this great restaurant. Even though it was Tuesday, it will be completely full. We had a really delicious meal and kept ordering. The service was top notch and very friendly, one of the best experiences I have ever had.

Super service and delicious food. Definitely recommended.

Enjoy Japanese cuisine to the fullest. The food was delicious and the service top notch! We are not fans of Sushi ourselves, but that is not necessary at Roka. An extensive menu with plenty of choice 💪🏻

Delicious food. Best restaurant in Helmond.

Everything great! Very nice staff and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Very nice experience. Japanese and not so standard.

I'm not from here myself, so I'm not familiar with the restaurants. Was taken by a friend because he said this is the best restaurant in Helmond. After eating here I think that may very well be true. The Atmosphere and service was great, and the food super tasty! If I'm in Helmond again I will definitely come back. The macha tiramisu is definitely recommended!

On the recommendation of a friend, two of us had dinner at Roka yesterday. Summary: fantastic! Reservations are recommended because the place was full during the evening. We chose the 4-course surprise menu and were inside from 1915 to 2145. (If you are in a hurry, you can tell the waiter. We wanted to take our time). The service is always quick, friendly and helpful. We sat next to the spacious open kitchen. The quality standard is high, and you also get that outside the kitchen. The wine is well matched to the courses and the extensive Gin and Tonic menu is also recommended. Finally, Roka is easily accessible, just a few hundred meters from a parking garage (note closing time) and several bicycle sheds/racks.

Delicious food, nice service. Very nice restaurant. We come back. 👌🏻😃

What a cozy restaurant. The food was delicious and the plates of food looked beautiful. So much taste sensation. Every bite you take has a different but unique taste. The staff is very fast and knowledgeable and certainly very friendly. This also applies to the owner, what a nice and driven woman she is. She really goes the extra mile to give you a wonderful evening. It was my husband's birthday and that was also taken care of with a fire-lit dessert and singing. Thank you for this. Big compliments for this restaurant. We will definitely come back soon.

What delicious food! We were also surprised by the passion to please the customer. We were given various snacks beforehand and it was always explained what was gluten-free and what contained shellfish. We felt welcome and pampered.

Waiters always on the ball and very, very nice, the food is simply delicious. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to treat themselves to Japanese delicacies.

Delicious food, service was friendly. A nice neat restaurant

Delicious food. Been twice now and will go again.

Zou Roka zeker aanraden, alles vers! vriendelijk personeel ,mooie locatie. Tot de volgende keer

Beste restaurant van Helmond. Ik zeg ga voor vis ;)

The sushi (dragon roll) and gyoza were great! The half lobster tasted ok but it had very little meat. I do not recommend. Mocktail jus was also ok. The main dishes take too long to get ready. At least on a Friday night. Overall a nice place!
