Four of us ate there on a Thursday evening and were absolutely thrilled! The food, ambiance, and service were fantastic! We highly recommend the restaurant!

The food was fine. The service could be a bit more spontaneous; it was a bit over the top.

Great food! We would have liked a bit more explanation of the 3 course meals otherwise we would have definitely given it a big 10.

Voor het eerst dit jaar weer gegeten bij dit gastvrije lekkere restaurant .Hier voel je je altijd welkom. De bediening is vriendelijk en attent. En de sfeer uitstekend. Wij begonnen met een tom ka kai bitterbal. Daarna nam ik de Oosterse uiensoep ( verrukkelijk) gevolgd door de steak tartare en tonijntataki. Allebei heerlijk. Mijn man genoot van de tournedos. En wij samen van jullie bakje superfriet. Zelfs de koffie is heerlijk. Wij hebben genoten en komen snel weer langs om andere nieuwe gerechten te proeven.

Dit restaurant is net iets duurder dan gemiddeld, maar je krijgt er dan ook dubbele kwaliteit voor terug. Wat hebben wij lekker gegeten en gedronken. Het is zo smaakvol en gevarieerd. Echt een toplocatie. Ik zou hier best eens een beoordeling van de gouden pollepel van willen zien. Al moet je daarna wellicht lang tevoren reserveren, want het is geen “verborgen” parel meer. Wel een tip: “Neem de tijd, want dat verdienen ze.”

On the return trip from the weekend Germany for my birthday we went for something to eat on the way and ended up in this restaurant, gosh we had a delicious meal here, as an appetizer the thom kai kai bitterbal, wow!! We had already eaten and had a lot of drinks during the day, so only the main course, pork rib roast and farm chicken..wow wow..and the fries and salad 3x wow, I have never eaten it so delicious, everything down to the last crumb, unfortunately dessert was not possible, but delicious coffee with which we got homemade chocolate and butter cake..that was 4x wow!! Service top, care top, it is an hour away from us but we will definitely come back, thank you very much for this top evening!! Definitely see you soon

Wederom een topavond gehad bij ‘t Herdertje. Zeer vriendelijke en gastvrije bediening, werkelijk prachtig opgemaakte borden en heerlijk eten.

Great meal. Freshly prepared. Excellent rib roast, tender and juicy. Partner had pork belly to suck through a straw. Nice tasty garnish. Would have preferred a choice between mashed potatoes, baked potatoes or something similar. Now we got sweet potato fries, which were nice and crispy, and regular fries. Well prepared... The supplied mayonnaise comes from a Dutch jar, I think. Homemade really tastes better... Or else a good Belgian pot. But ... overall a great restaurant, worth returning to.

Everything was absolutely great, the welcome, the tables all well situated, the decoration, the sincere service that treats you with respect. And then: every dish prepared with so much care and delicious! The fish starter: superb! The Bavette, wow, how delicious and tender and the desserts are absolutely great! Together with friends! Totally fun! Oh yes we got an apperative, homemade bitterbal! Tasty!

De recensies beloofden een topervaring, en dat werd het ook. Gezellig kader, vriendelijke ontvangst en onwaarschijnlijk lekker eten - mooi gepresenteerd, en meer dan voldoende. We dronken er een Roemeense witte wijn bij, en ook die was top! Kortom: niets dan goeds over 't Herdertje!

Wederom zeer tevreden. Bijzondere is dat het voorgerecht/ hoofdgerecht of nagerecht zo gecomplimenteerd wordt door de bijgerechten en de opmaak van de borden. Alles is gewoon erg goed. Bijgerecht friet, salade maar ook het garnituur op het bord. Net zo verwonderd as het hoofdgerecht zelf. Bijzonder.

Vriendelijke ontvangst, mooie sfeervolle inrichting met rustieke elementen. Spannende uitdagende menukaart in verrassend goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Je proeft dat er met liefde wordt gekookt en de presentatie is ook nog eens zeer smaakvol. De foto's spreken voor zich. De akoestiek is een minpunt. Een paar stroken stof aan de wand en pyramideschuim onder de tafelbladen zou kunnen helpen. Wij komen graag terug.

A very cozy and nice restaurant to see. Both from the outside and (completely) from the inside. We were here on a Friday evening and the on-site parking spaces (about 15 I think I quickly saw) were unfortunately all full. Then you have to search in the narrow streets. Ladies take note; When you wear heels (I also wear suede), walk on your toes because you have to go through gravel/stones. Approx. 5 steps, but good to know! 😉 Unfortunately, you cannot (literally) avoid this. Reception was nice, my coat was accepted and I was guided to a table for 2 people. I started with a rosé prosecco which tasted good. We skipped the appetizer due to... allergy and the fact that we eat meat, but not pork. Alternatives were thoughtfully suggested, but we kindly thanked them for that. The fact that she came up with suggestions was much appreciated! We had the burrata salad as a starter. This tasted incredibly good. Enough fresh and mixed vegetables, very nice and tasty taste and beautifully presented! There was just enough time between the starter and main course, because that always requires a wait and see. A better restaurant (or the waiter) understands the right pace 😉. As a main course I chose the risotto mushrooms (my brother went for the sea bass fried on the skin, which also looked good (also in color) and tasted delicious, he said!). Returning to the risotto; this was truly sublime!! In the photo it looks like there is too much green in it, but this was in good proportion and therefore did not negatively affect the taste. The Parmesan cheese was delicious and I think I tasted a hint of truffle. All in all beautifully prepared and very tasteful! We both skipped dessert, even though it looked really good with plenty of choice. We went for coffee and I had fresh mint tea and received a home made cookie. This tasted like stroopwafel (caramel). Very attentive of course and was very tasty. What was striking is the acoustics. Because the space is not too large, it is sometimes necessary to listen very carefully or talk louder, as everyone does at some point. In addition, it also became a bit stuffy because everything was closed. It didn't have to take much longer for us. That is not a complaint, but an observation. All in all, we had a nice evening, experienced pleasant service and had a delicious dinner. What more could you want! Highly recommended this beautiful, cozy restaurant!

Delicious food at 't Herdertje! Food excellent, beautifully prepared and slightly better and more creative than at an average restaurant. Desserts are definitely worth mentioning! (I always say you can recognize a good restaurant by its desserts ;)). Very friendly and attentive service (they had thought about our table because of our baby in the stroller). Price-quality ratio perfectly fine. Worth more than 5 stars!

It had been a while since we had eaten at 't Herdertje, time for quality control. It was right from the start. Upon arrival, the welcome was warm and before we knew it the coats were hanging on a hanger and we were sitting at the table. We started with a homemade bitterbal with chorizo. This was divine and you don't often find these kinds of beautiful examples in Dutch restaurants these days. As for Tom Kai and Mustard Soup. Both very nice. High in flavour, creamy and just sharp (mustard) and spicy (Tom) enough. Chapeau, round 1 the kitchen won with flying colors. Main sea bass and bavette with way too many fries (mistake on our part). Both great. The sea bass was buttery soft and the zucchini and curry foam completed the dish completely. Bavette is simply perfect. The second round also went convincingly to the kitchen. Will we be knocked out or will the desserts be disappointing again? It was the first. To taste it properly, tiramisu and another scoop of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream were brought to the table. The tiramisu was with amaretto and that brought a different, more powerful flavor than normal, certainly not bad and I was also happy with the firm structure of the tiramisu. Finally, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, both simply delicious. Price-quality in order. €45 p.p. with one drink p.p. In short, ladies and gentlemen, we have once again got a gem. Be sure to visit the Voorthuizen neighborhoods.

Here you can sit on the cozy covered terrace. The service is extremely friendly. Not in a fake way, but really hospitable and very careful. We had asked in advance if there were vegan options and were surprised with a delicious three-course menu. Everything was good: the atmosphere, the service and every bite of every dish. Such a shame that we live all the way in Rotterdam. Which is also good, otherwise we would come here very often (and the chef always has to come up with new vegan menus, although that won't be that difficult for this chef).

During our weekend away on Friday we had a delicious meal in this attractive restaurant. The staff exudes hospitality, is attentive and friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again on Sunday evening. We once again found incredibly hospitable, hardworking staff and, not unimportantly, the food was delicious again. From starter to dessert you can't go wrong! As a baking fanatic, I don't often experience a dessert being served that makes me think "damn, I couldn't make this myself". In retrospect, we tipped too little. We have to go back again to make up for that. It's annoying... ;)

Met ons bedrijf hebben we hier donderdagavond 2 mei gegeten en we kunnen iedereen aanraden dit restaurant te bezoeken. Goede bediening, heerlijke gerechten en een hele gezellige sfeer. We waren met zowel collega's van productie, inkoop als sales en iedereen was enorm enthousiast over de keuze voor 't Herdertje.

Everything was okay, but we had discussed Gravic Laks, which was very sour, and were offered something else that was tasty. We also spoke during the settlement and we did get 1 of the 2 gravic laks back, but that was put (thrown) on the table with the money with the words we hope to never see you here again. We thought it was not very customer friendly.

During a family weekend with 16 people (including 2 children), I had a sublime 3-course menu here in the evening, including wines, drinks, coffee, etc. I had made a reservation a few weeks in advance and wanted some vegan/vegetarians/pescatarians and all- passed on to diners. Truly fantastic how everything was taken into account. The vegan menu (also 3 courses) was also specially prepared by the chef with great care and love. Not the standard sweet potato. The starters and desserts were beautifully presented on planks with a wide choice for everyone. For the main course we could choose from 5 dishes. The risotto with forest mushrooms and the cod dish are highly recommended. Everything is fresh here. There are also plenty of vegetables with the main courses: fresh salad and 'sticky carrot' (yum!). And fries of course. People with enthusiasm and love for the culinary profession work here. Also no mouse portions with half carrots, etc. The children (3 and 8 years old) also ate with great taste and could also get something other than just the children's menu. And the colored pencils had also been taken into account. The atmosphere is casual and we sat as a group in the beautiful conservatory (and therefore not hidden away somewhere, but not a nuisance to the other guests). The furnishings are tasteful and correspond to the photos on the website. The service deserves a big compliment, very friendly and cooperative. To conclude, there was a delicious Visciole dessert wine. And the bill for all this beauty was not too bad. In short, great!

Although this review will be full of detail and feedback that not everyone will read and appreciate, I think it is important to get the essence clear. Het Herdertje is simply a good restaurant that I will definitely recommend. The food is of above average quality and the quantities were generous. The service is also fast, professional and friendly. This review will contain some jokes, jokes and jokes, but that should not take away from the essence of the story. For me, this raw meat dish can always go in several directions. My personal preference is usually for as simple as possible, that was certainly not the case here. Happy in a positive way. My personal preference will remain for a completely raw egg yolk, the salmonella always gives me a kind of extra tension that I also experience while gambling. The kitchen has created a threshold that I personally would not easily ride on with my city bike. Kom regelmatig bij restaurants uit het hogere segment en vind het herdertje hier absoluut bij passen alleen is de prijs een stuk lager. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel en keer op keer eten van super kwaliteit! Het restaurant is ook prachtig aangekleed met een hele leuke sfeer tot gevolg. Zeker het omrijden waard!

Echt fantastisch. Wij komen hier al jaren en jullie blijven ons verbazen. Bediening is geweldig, de sfeer is zo gezellig en goed, en het eten overtreft iedere keer onze verwachtingen. En voor alles wat je krijgt verwacht je een flinke prijs, maar zelfs jullie prijzen blijven uiters toegankelijk. Niets dan lof, wij blijven nog lang komen!!

Gisteravond met zussen hier weer fantastisch gegeten! Voor 5 zussen de eerste keer hier. Waren allemaal compleet verrast door de schilderijtjes van gerechten en de heerlijke smaken. Mangomouse cheesecake wat de topper . ‘Nog nooit zo’n lekker toetje gehad ‘ zeiden ze in koor. Tot snel!

Met de zaak hier uit eten geweest. Drie gangen waarbij we konden kiezen uit steeds 3 gerechten. Van te voren wat sceptisch, maar het was een fantastische ervaring. Als voorgerecht zalm in mosterd marinade, hoofdgerecht rouleau boerderijkip met groentes, zoete aardappel friet en normale friet en als nagerecht een heerlijke citroen merengue taart met ijs. Geweldig! Fijne bediening!
