Een heel mooi restaurant. We hebben er een geweldige ervaring gehad met het viergangendiner. Gezellig, gastvrij en heerlijk eten. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Super hospitable. And a delicious dinner. Price quality is top! Very involved owners who really want you to have a nice evening on a social and culinary level.

Het woord staat op de gevel.. Unique. Is een unieke ervaring.... We hebben gedineerd hier toen de vorige eigenaar, was het erg lekker eten. Nu dachten we, weer dit doen. Is nu een andere manier een culinaire reis. De langere reis duurt ... elke gang (zijn geen gerechten maar lijkt amuses) kost je 34 minuten. Elke gang heeft ca gemiddeld 20 gram, behalve het dessert. Dus je hele diner heeft ca 150 gram geconsumeerd en het dessert. Ik had een alcoholvrij avond. Ik heb een vinada alcoholvrijt bubbel wijn genomen. Later blijkt bij de rekening dat dit kost 11.95 voor dit glas. Een fles 750ml kost bij 8,95 euro!! Belachelijk, hoe durven ze dit! De eerste gang heeft een cheviche.. drie grijze stukjes, ongezellige zeebaars die niet te harden zijn. Daarnaast was een grijze tartaar van zeebaars zonder bewerking. Geef het svp smaak en gewoon mooie olie, limoen en wat zout en peper. Een amuse van kwartel was okay. Vanavond waren er 34 gasten... de kok heeft bijna één hele kwartel kunnen gebruiken voor het totaal restaurant... Zo is het doorgegaan. Na 3,5uur mochten we weg... het palette van amuses kost 76,50 per pp en we hadden zo'n trek dat we vroegen een bolletje brood. Bij de rekening wordt een bolletje berekend van 5,50... wij weten om de hoek een goede cafetaria open was. Out of our list.

Top service and very hospitable. Dishes beautifully presented, but sometimes a bit too far-fetched, so the flavors did not always match well. Matching wines were perfect, sublime, delicious. Too bad there were artificial flowers everywhere and that the toilet was not clean. All in all a pleasant evening.

The reception was nice, spontaneous, but not over the top. The table for two people was spacious. Nice to sit next to each other at a round table with a view of the kitchen and the restaurant. The menu is delicious! I always like it when the chef chooses and there are delicious wines to match. The dishes were delicious and refined. Our favorites this evening: squid, veal tartare, lamb and porcini ice cream. The supplements were also worth it, especially the duck liver and the cheese board. I will definitely come back here again!

Mijn ervaring met het vegetarische menu en het non alcoholische sap arrangement was werkelijk fantastisch. De combinatie van eten drinken was prachtig, met verfijnde gerechten die Aziatische invloeden hadden. Voor iedereen die vegetarisch wil eten is dit een absolute aanrader, vooral in combinatie met de alcohol vrije arrangement. Vergeet de standaard appel/tomatensap: hier krijg je sappen met bijzondere smaken die je smaakpapillen zullen verrassen en geserveerd uit prachtige flessen. Bovendien was de bediening uitstekend wat de gele ervaring nog beter maakte

Surprising and simply excellent.

Restaurant Unique Heerlijk gegeten bij Unique in Gouda de chef weet wat hij doet. Zou het fijn vinden als er wat meer aandacht was voor duurzaamheid, en het interieur mag wel een opfrisbeurt krijgen. Verder gewoon een fijne plek om te eten.

Ate at Unique for the third time on Saturday. Every time an experience with surprising and unexpected combinations from the kitchen brigade. The quality is perfect and the service is exactly the right mix of correct, personal and informal, which makes you feel that you are in a special restaurant where people work with a sense of their profession. Nice explanation of the delicious dishes and beautiful matching wines. Well worth a visit, they live up to the name!

The location does not do justice to this fantastic restaurant. The chef will explain each course and surprise you with every dish. All dishes are a celebration of unusual, but great combinations of flavors. The service is extremely correct and super friendly. You can order a matching glass of wine with each dish. It always surprises me that they don't have a star yet.

We were there on a very quiet Thursday evening. That is a shame especially for the restaurant and a missed opportunity for anyone who was not there because Ooo, it was so tasty and the edges were beautifully prepared. The wine was top notch and the attention completely appropriate. We will definitely come back. For us the best restaurant in Gouda.

Beautiful decoration. Nice surprise menu. Service by some is warm, but by others volatile and distant. A bob arrangement is really sad. 2 sips and you have finished your glass, even non-alcoholic. Definitely a tasty meal, but less refined flavors.

Restaurant Unique, really obtains its name. It is quite unique. This was my third time there and again loved it. 😻 especially there rosemary bread! You get a fixed menu of 6 courses and there is a possibility to add supplements. We had as supplement an oyster with there own unique twist! We enjoyed it very much and the service was on point, sometimes the cooks explained us the dish. That was a nice touch as well!

First time "fine dining" but immediately a wonderful introduction. My allergies were taken into account from the start, which is always a plus. This was followed by a wide range of different dishes with various wines and aperitifs. Staff was present every time but not pushy and very attentive. The tea was received from the staff and each dish was provided with an interesting description. The price was also very reasonable considering the service and quality of the food. As usual, it was a treat to eat at Unique, from start to finish. The friendly service and host and hostess, the fantastic chef and his brigade, and of course the wonderful culinary journey. The ingredients were carefully matched and every course, every dish was a true explosion of taste. A wonderful experience in a nice informal atmosphere.

We were warmly welcomed again and spent a very enjoyable evening with special dishes and delicious matching wines (full or half glasses as desired). The non-alcoholic bubbles were also tasty. All courses were equally surprising and tasty, everything carefully served. We had French guests and the chef had very nicely translated the descriptions of the dishes into French. From start to finish they did everything they could to make us happy. The appearance was already in a beautiful Christmas atmosphere and the tables were spacious. It was also nice that the music was just right in the background. With everything, a restaurant to be proud of here in Gouda.

Voor de eerste keer bij restaurant Unique gegeten en zeker niet voor het laatst! Prachtig mooi opgemaakte gerechtjes die werkelijk stuk voor stuk fantastisch smaken. Het zes-gangen diner, welke wij met de extra gerechtjes hebben aangevuld zijn echt telkens weer een unieke verrassing. Je merkt dat alles met veel aandacht en liefde voor de keuken wordt bereid. De open keuken, de intieme eetruimte en zeker niet onbelangrijk de prettige bediening zorgen voor een ongedwongen sfeer. Naar onze beleving wordt hier gepresteerd op sterrenniveau misschien wel beter!

It's nice that Unique is also open for lunch. Friendly staff. We had the 4-course lunch with extra oysters and 0.0 bubbles. We enjoyed it and will definitely come back again!

Everything was delicious and special and prepared with a lot of love. Because I forgot to photograph the appetizer, we were given another portion that we could eat as well. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary at Unique on September 28. That has become an unforgettable experience. I have never eaten so well. Both the dishes and the accompanying wines were of excellent quality. If you like good food in a relaxed atmosphere, Unique is highly recommended.

Restaurant Unique in Gouda has recently also been open for lunch from Tuesday to Friday. I am very happy with that. There is no other restaurant open for lunch in Gouda with this quality and service. If I wanted to eat well with my elderly parents, we always had to move to other places and now finally in my own hometown at my favorite restaurant. The sous vide cooked cod was the best I have ever eaten

This was our second visit and most certainly not our last; even our (admittedly well-behaved) three year old was welcomed and enraptured. Unique is a hidden gem on a non-assuming sidestreet just outside the bustle of downtown Gouda. The host is courteous, knowledgeable, creative and provides impeccable service. The chefs are just metres away, visible as they brew their creations. Each course is served with attention to detail, sharing not just the delectable flavour combinations but often information about their more interesting ingredients. The experimentation, the true care and the ultimate feeling of cozy, warm privacy adds to the overall experience greatly. An absolute recommendation that we almost begrudgingly share, as this is the type of secret place that makes a city have a soul.

Truly an experience! Every dish is a painting for the eye, but pure gold for the stomach! Despite the fancy special food, there is still a casual atmosphere!! Super nice help from a man with an eye for detail! The desert had “van Harte” written on the plate in chocolate!

Last Saturday, July 13, we really enjoyed a wonderful evening full of surprises. The dishes served were delicious and a painting to look at and the accompanying wines were also delicious. In short, an evening you will not soon forget.

This restaurant took me on a true culinary journey. Without a menu, we were surprised with an eight-course meal, where each course offered a new experience. The basics of French cuisine were beautifully combined with modern international flavors and textures. We tasted influences from Japan to Peru, which made the dinner a real world trip. The carefully selected wines from all over the world complemented the dishes perfectly. Every season offers a new experience with vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. Well. Unique is simply unique in Gouda. And to tell you straight away, better than the star restaurant in the city center. Much better. As vegetarians, we have never eaten anywhere as good as here, not even in the Orphanage. That star should have gone here. The food is top notch, every dish is spot on, sometimes daring. Always balanced. And with sufficient proteins, which is often forgotten when it comes to vegetarian options. The layout of the plates is sublime, the wines that come with it (also in halves) are all good. I can't really find any improvement. Friendly service too. Full evening program if you surprise yourself with 7 courses.

The food and service were both great. We had a four-course meal that was a Wednesday special. We also did a wine pairing with our food. Overall, it was a really good experience.

Price-quality ratio is not good. The concept is 6 courses and matching wines. Many courses are mainly 'liquid' in the form of a mousse, gel or broth. So you don't feel full after an evening of dining. The wines were tasty, but the combination with the dishes was difficult to follow. In particular, an explanation was also missing. Because which flavors from the dish the wine should compliment remained a mystery. Already had a great evening, but I wouldn't go here again. For this price I expect more and I have the experience that other restaurants with this concept do offer.

It all started with reserving a table, we were greeted cheerfully and in a friendly manner. When we entered there was a warm welcome and we had a delicious meal. Sven and his wife have developed a very nice concept. 6 courses, good wine pairing, not too formal, not too expensive, but great. Success assured!

Delicious food, refined flavors, different textures, hot and cold. Fit together very well. And the wines were fantastically selected. I expected a little more sweetness from the dessert and the sauces were delicious, but sometimes a bit pronounced, which was only a disadvantage for the wine. The wine will then be a little underperformed. Anyway, taste remains personal. I was called in advance for allergy information or if there was something you really didn't like. Q-park available within walking distance. Very friendly people with a passion for their profession, beautiful restaurant, overall enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.

We hebben met 7 vrouwen heel gezellug en heerlijk genoten van het Madido diner. Bediening met uitleg was prima en ook aan de allergieën was gedacht en een mooi alternatief gemaakt. Goede sfeer en kwaliteit. Aanrader!

Buitengewoon goed eten. Mooie gebalanceerde smaken en rijke diepe sauzen. Ook een top vegetarisch gerecht in het menu met schorseneren, paddestoelen en een Japanse azijn waarvan de naam me ontschoten is. Unique staat qua eten voor ons hoog op de ranglijst bij de betere restaurants in de regio! Mooi om de rust en focus te zien in de keuken, ondanks het volle restaurant. Het wijnarrangement is leuk met een of twee positieve uitschieters. Een zaak met dit niveau eten zou alleen wel meer mogen doen met bijpassende alcoholvrije alternatieven. Een alcoholvrije cocktail of frisdrank doet afbreuk aan de gerechten. De service is hartelijk en vriendelijk, maar mag nog wel een stapje professioneler. Voor de sfeer toch een wat lagere beoordeling, want de ruimte is rommelig ingericht met allerlei prullaria. Het is niet prettig om heel de avond naar een 1,5 meter hoge wit plastic Vuurzee-glas te kijken. Wat het eten betreft dus meer dan goed. De chef begrijpt smaak, opmaak en heeft een fijne kookstijl. Unique is alleen al daarom een dikke aanrader

Heb je dieetwensen dan wordt daar goed op ingespeeld. We kregen desgevraagd ook uitgebreide toelichting van de koks op de gerechten. De locatie ligt wat excentrisch, maar vanbinnen is het heel sfeervol en 'industrieel' met kaarslicht. Zeer aan te bevelen voor een avondje uit 🥂
