The food was delicious, but the staff could be better. Waitresses touching their hair and just standing around chatting with each other. Asked for a spoon for the meal and got a dirty spoon.

Great pizzas and pasta. I feel the quality is declining. That could be due to the crowds or the success. Hopefully, it is a temporary phenomenon, as it is the only pizzeria in the area. Update 7-2026: It continues to go downhill. We always order Bruschetta, but they have changed that. Tomatoes poorly cut, taste not half as good as before. In response to my feedback, they said that nothing has changed. I have been coming here since the beginning and it is getting worse and worse. Please go back to your original quality, because you were my favorite for a long time.

Delicious food, but very poor service! A shame and unnecessary, as there was plenty of staff. Long wait for drinks, the waitresses couldn't manage a smile; ordered dessert, the table was still full from the main course, and I politely asked if they could clear the table because of dessert. She looked like she was getting the full brunt of it. Really a shame, because once again, the food was amazing!!

Picked up pizza and lasagna Unfortunately, the pizza quattro formaggi was undercooked and the cheese wasn't melted. The lasagna didn't resemble a lasagna at all; the tomato sauce seemed to be from a jar, the white sauce/béchamel and cheese were nowhere to be found, and it was burnt to boot. Actually, it only tasted like tomato sauce. Staff friendly, the place itself looks fine. Very disappointing because I had high expectations. Maybe it's better to eat there directly if I read other reviews, or do the people have no taste?

We had a delicious meal here. Fast service, friendly and knowledgeable staff despite the crowds. The drinks were tasty too. Plenty of options. We sat outside and that was fine. I can't say much about sitting inside.

We had a delicious meal there and will definitely go back again. For what you get, and that is plenty, you don't pay top dollar.

If you choose the option for extra olives, you get the same amount as normal. If you choose the option for extra gorgonzola, it is spread over every slice of pizza, so half of it is missing gorgonzola. This time, a large part of the pizza was also burnt, making it inedible. Maybe it all goes well when there is a seat, but for home delivery it is inconsistent.

The most tasteless pizza I have ever eaten. I would rather recommend a shawarma pizza from Domino’s than this junk. It had absolutely no flavor...

Great location and the food was delicious

We had reserved in advance for 7:00 PM. When we arrived, there was panic because there was no room. At their request, we sat at the bar with a drink and quickly got a table. It was also incredibly busy.

We had our table reserved on Monday for Wednesday, but by arrival got to hear that there is no table for us due to overbooking. We were asked to wait outside with a drink but was very cold and with hard rain . We got some blankets en drinks and after 25 min it was clear that there was no table for us despite we booked it two days before. Many people in the meantime got the table by arriving so made not so much sense what exactly happened. It's little to say we were very disappointed.

We simply had a nice meal. There were 5 of us. The 5th person sat at the head of the table. However, due to the U-shaped leg, you couldn't pull up, so you sat away from the table. We didn't say anything on the spot because of the occasion we were there for, but I did send an email and we received a quick response. That was nice. And they have tasty gluten-free pasta.

Ridiculous. I had reserved a table for 4 and couldn't see any options online other than choosing the number of people and the reservation time. Upon arrival, I was told that we had to dine outside in 12-degree winds, with a force 7 gale. This was because I had supposedly reserved a table for that. The waitress later explained that there were simply a lot of double-booked tables, meaning people had to sit outside. Terribly bad; we went to eat at the neighbors' place.

It is just very annoying that you can smell the smoke from the people inside who are smoking outside and sitting against the window.

I always come for the truffle pasta with steak, which is always delicious because the meat is super tender, but unfortunately I've already had two where the meat was tough and dry. The first time I didn't mention it, the second time I did and received a nice new portion, but unfortunately the meat was inedible again. Please don't skimp on quality and please buy good steak again 🙏 it was sooo tasty!

At Papi, you can enjoy delicious Italian food at a fair price. Nice atmosphere and prompt service. In short, we eat there regularly.

We had a good meal; we had both pasta and pizza in the group and everything was good. The starters are also very tasty and of a sufficient size. It is a pity, though, that you are sitting inside surrounded by the smell of smokers outside. When the outdoor smoking tables are right next to the indoor tables, they might as well smoke inside.

Eaten here for the first time. We had reserved in advance. You are given a time slot, which I personally find annoying because you do feel a kind of time pressure (which turned out to be unnecessary in hindsight). We had booked for 5:30 PM, and upon entering, it was noticeable that it was already very busy. Very fast service. It almost seemed rushed. The atmosphere in the place isn't special. But the food made up for a lot! Super tasty pizza... and the best spaghetti I've ever eaten (scampi). The dessert was good. In short... I will definitely come back for the food.

Placed an order at Papi tonight. 3 pastas and a pizza! The pasta was delicious ;-)

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food.

You order at a quarter to 5:45 PM for delivery at 7:00 PM. You call at 7:10 PM and it still needs to go in the oven. And then they say you have to take into account that it might arrive fifteen minutes late. Even though you have to leave at 7:30 PM. Next time I'm paying in cash, and every minute they are late is 5 euros less that I pay.

It was a nice restaurant, everything was great and the food was ready quickly and the price was very reasonable. I wanted to give it 5 stars, but the kitchen power went out twice, hence one star less, but all in all, very nice staff and good quality.

Personally, the option of extra garlic (oil) on the edge or oil on top of your pizza would be nice. The price is reasonable, and you can tell by the crowds. Despite this, your food arrives quickly. Update: February 2026. The pizza is far from being truly tasty. I think because they used very little tomato sauce, it wasn't flavorful either. More dough and cheese, so to speak. Missed opportunity. In principle, New York pizza tastes better now, in 2026.

Lucas, Lisa, and Rick are truly the best. They are friendly, attentive, and make sure you have everything you need. The service was fast and professional, yet personal and warm. You can tell they enjoy their work, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The food was truly delicious: fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. Everything was perfect, from presentation to taste. You can taste the quality and attention that goes into the dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. I absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy good food and good service in a pleasant atmosphere!

We celebrated Boxing Day there, it was super delicious and well-organized despite it being Boxing Day and so busy. The staff were calm and unstressed, and the atmosphere was great! We thought it was a successful evening!

The two of us had a wonderful meal. The waiter was very pleasant. The bill was also very reasonable. In short, the drive from home (25km) is more than worth it.

The food was delicious, the pizza base was thin and crispy. The ham was very tasty. Unfortunately, we were in a bit of a hurry and couldn't have dessert. Maybe next time.

We had a wonderful meal here. The appetizer platters were filled with various dishes, and the main course, which included pizza and pasta, was plentiful and delicious. After dessert, we all received limoncello. Highly recommended.

Delicious calzone pizzas and, of course, regular pizzas and pasta. Richly filled and thickly topped with subtle flavors and a wonderful balance of ingredients. The dough is wonderfully firm and brown, soft, not crispy. Nice and round. Fast, friendly service, wide selection of drinks, a pleasant restaurant and terrace. Reservations are recommended! Several people know it's good.

Lekkere tagliatelle roomsaus en calzone besteld (en ja, het was zalig!) Maar zo ongelofelijk verrast door een super lieve bezorger. Zijn fiets was stuk, teruggegaan, nieuwe bestelling laten maken en door de regen en de drup aangeklopt. Gewoon de manier waarop….het kan dus gewoon nog wel. Jij verdient echt een dikke 10!

Papi is a great place to eat with friends. Last night we were served by a young girl, she was very friendly and attentive, which made the atmosphere extra cozy. The food was served quickly and was surprisingly tasty, especially for such an affordable price. Definitely recommended for a fun and affordable night out!

Been here with 6 people. When our wine was put on the table you have to order your starter with the message in connection with the 2 o'clock chift. When the starter came we had to order our main course with the same message. The main course was not finished yet or we still had to have something after but that had to happen quickly because the 2 o'clock was over. But our money was good so this was the last time.

Great food, for great prices. Cosy atmosphere, really nice. But the slow service was a real shame. We felt really ignored. In the end we sat at Papi for almost 4 hours, for a shared starter (a few planks of antipasti), a main course for everyone, and two grand desserts. A group of 12 people on a Saturday night can have to wait a while, but this really took too long.

Had a delicious meal with my son. Both had the pasta. Also had pizza here before. And they are also very good! Definitely recommended and now one of my favorite Italians.

First of all; I came there for a quick bite to eat during work around four o'clock. It's great that this is possible because this restaurant is open from 3 am. The weather was beautiful and the spots on the terrace were still available. The service was very good, I was helped quickly and efficiently with a drink and I didn't have to wait long for the starter. The owner also came by to have a chat, class. The main course and the starter were served quite quickly. And this tasted fantastic, a very well made pasta carbonara with extra cheese. I'm sure that the next time I have a break near Barendrecht I will come back to taste this recipe again. 5/5 stars well deserved.

2025: quality has improved a bit. It is however becoming very expensive for 2 pizzas. However, it is one of the better ones in terms of quality/our taste in Barendrecht. It is only tempting to go for slightly lower quality at Domino's, where I am now ready for 2 pieces with promotions for 20 euros. And then at Papi you only have 1... Rating has been adjusted slightly upwards again. 2023: the pizza bar was bad the last few times. Limp, burnt, soggy, grey carpaccio, the toppings stuck to the box because of the cold and congealed cheese. Cold. I sent an email with my observation to report that it was not good. No answer after 24 hours. This was the last time, unfortunately things are really not in order anymore. I like to pay more for good food. But I will not pay a lot for this misery anymore. They do not even bother to apologize to a regular customer. Bye. 2021: Best pizza in Barendrecht!

Below standard. Of the 3 dishes, one was tasty. The pizza was cold upon delivery and the crust had a width of 6 to 7 cm. I can also make a pizza this way. You had to look for the other ingredients, so thinly spread. I ordered spaghetti bolognese with a whole wheat version. I get whole wheat penne, it was also not warm and it tasted like a can of tomato paste from the supermarket. After trying 4 bites, it went straight into the trash. Disappointing for 50 euros. We don't order here anymore.
