Rothenbacher Imbiss in Vlodrop

It's a shame, it used to be really good. The food didn't taste good; there are better chip shops. The service was like a comedian with ADHD. The two of them were talking loudly about customers complaining about the amount of fries. It was really unbearable and very disruptive while eating.

We ate there today (12:00). It was very empty, the tables were sticky, and there were no napkins or other toiletries. It was impossible to eat in peace because the women were loudly gossiping about other employees and talking about the festival this weekend. The worst part, however, was that both of them went outside for a smoke (right in front of the door), came back in, and the slim woman with glasses and tattoos was blowing out the last of the smoke inside the restaurant! Absolutely disgusting! They didn't even bother to wash their hands... we will never set foot in that place again!

We had a really good meal there today after shopping. It's reasonably priced, clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. My questions were answered thoroughly and willingly. I would definitely recommend this snack bar.

The fries were hard and tasteless, the cheap mayonnaise was off-putting, and the frikandel was inedible. To top it off, the staff member was unfriendly. My last visit there was much better!

What a filthy place! Sticky tables. Food scraps littering the floor under the tables. The food itself was below average. The fries were hard, the meat roll had barely any red sauce. The currywurst was bland. The canned cola, however, was excellent. The staff were unfriendly and bored. This snack bar has definitely seen better days. It was definitely our last time there.

Poor value for money! €30 for two fries and a meal deal (including drinks!). The shashlik had four tiny pieces of meat! And then they use disposable cutlery indoors if you only order fries! Not recommended, better to eat in Germany!

We didn't enjoy the meal here; the staff is very unfriendly. We ordered fries and they were fried in old oil. We ordered fries with mayo separately and received mayo on the fries; the sauce is also very little for a large portion of fries. The snacks in the refrigerated display case by the window looked like they had been sitting there for a few days. We paid €24 for 4 people; we would rather drive a little further and pay a bit more where you actually get good fries. The owner sits inside smoking, and they close at 18:00 and the staff leaves at 17:57. It is not tidied up or cleaned, not even a vacuum cleaner. Never again for us!

The food was below fast-food standard, and the service was rude. The shashlik consisted of a few dry and tough pieces of meat. The fries were equally hard. Despite ordering several dishes, only the shashlik came with cutlery. The other dishes didn't...they weren't served on plates. Since it was a table order, I would have at least expected cutlery upon request. But it wasn't provided. Overall, the place was quite dirty. And as a customer, you felt like you were interrupting the conversation of the two women behind the counter.

I've never written a negative review in my life, but this place truly deserves it. The premises were unsanitary, the tables were dirty, and there was food on the floor. The staff were cold, rude, and showed no respect for the customers. The atmosphere was on par with the food served: low-quality frozen fare that I wouldn't order again even if it were free. Even if it's on your way, do yourself a favor and keep walking; there are clearly better options nearby.

Never again there on February 7, 2026.

We won't be eating here again. The fries were extremely dry and rock hard, giving us a stomachache. Completely inedible. We couldn't even spear them with a fork because they were so hard. The tables were filthy, and no one came to clean them. We had to wipe them down ourselves. It wasn't busy, otherwise they could have understood that a table might not be clean yet. Never again!

Very dirty, food scraps were everywhere on the tables, things were stuck to them… The fries were rock hard. You could bite into a stone. We bought fries three times. I don't understand the good reviews at all. We will never eat here again.

I can only echo the negative reviews already posted here. About two or three years ago, this snack bar was highly recommended. There must have been a change of ownership or staff since then. In my opinion, this snack bar has been going downhill ever since. I was there again with my husband about two weeks ago. All in all, the visit was disappointing once more. Inattentive staff, poor service; we ordered Gypsy schnitzel with fries. The fries were okay, but the Gypsy sauce was far too sweet. My advice to the owner: don't use the ready-made sauces from a bucket, make them yourself, and make them palatable. I don't need a ready-made sauce preserved with too much sugar.

The moment we entered the store, it was clear that customer service was a foreign concept. A greeting? Forget it. Instead, we stood visibly in front of the counter for about ten minutes, completely ignored. Only then, in a casual tone, were we asked if we "wanted to order." When mobile payment failed and I switched to a regular card, the staff again lost interest and simply left me standing there. The height of disrespect was reached when the staff then spoke about us in Turkish, apparently assuming I wouldn't understand. Overall, an extremely unpleasant experience. Anyone who shows so little respect for paying customers should seriously question whether they belong in the service industry.

The food has unfortunately declined significantly. We had fries with sauerbraten, and the sauerbraten tasted of nothing. The fries themselves were okay. If you're coming from a party, you might still enjoy them. What I also find disappointing is that the lights are switched off before 6 pm, and you can't eat in after 5:30 pm, as if customers are unimportant. The chip shop itself is very nicely decorated, and the staff are generally friendly, but the quality and customer service desperately need improvement.

The internet says it's open, but it's only for Christmas.

The fries were salty, the frikandel special was drowned in a large amount of sauce, and the staff was unfriendly. Furthermore, there were no restrooms to use (not even with a toilet pass due to a bowel condition), even though a restaurant is required to use them.

I don't understand the negative comments! The ladies are always friendly! The food tastes great, just as you'd expect from a snack bar. The atmosphere is fantastic. It doesn't take long from ordering to picking up your food, even when the place is busy. I'm very happy here and love coming here. And since things are moving so quickly, sometimes a table might get left out for wiping. No big deal!

We ate lunch there. We ordered two set meals. For the price, we expected 1. significantly larger portions and 2. better quality. The shawarma was carelessly dumped on top of the fries, like a small pile, and the sauces didn't taste good. The shish kebab was small and unappetizing. They also didn't accept card payments... I wonder why?! I won't be going there again. It's a shame, because it's quite easy to get to.

The snack bar is sparsely furnished. The service could be friendlier. I preferred the previous owner because of his thoughtfulness.

The staff wasn't particularly motivated and mostly preoccupied with themselves. The atmosphere has a distinctly 90s feel. It desperately needs a renovation. The Frikandell Special and the fries were okay... but below average by Dutch standards.

Very unfriendly staff, fries super salty and fried in stale grease. No cutlery, dirty tables. NEVER again! We were 2 adults and 3 children and paid €43. Next time, we'll just drive on and pay a bit more.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I can't relate. Everything was great for me. I was there yesterday for lunch. I received a very friendly greeting, the atmosphere was lovely, there were plenty of free parking spaces, and the food was ready very quickly. The tables were clean. I had a burger for €5, which was absolutely delicious and awesome with the chips inside, and a large fries with truffle mayo and Parmesan for €6, and a can of ice-cold Coke for €2. In Germany, you easily pay four euros for a can of Coke at a snack bar, and a large fries cost at least five euros, and there's nothing as nice as here, and I've never seen a burger under €15 in Germany. I think it's great here and I'll be back.

The value for money is satisfactory. The food was good and prepared quickly despite the high occupancy. There are no restrooms in the restaurant or in the immediate vicinity! We were still satisfied and would come back.

We stood in the empty snack bar for 5 minutes and were not greeted. Then an older woman came and was immediately greeted and her order was taken. We then turned around and left the snack bar. That's not possible, especially since we've obviously been waiting for a long time and been ignored...

Fries not cooked through and limp

We were there at half past six and ordered food. At 10 to 6 almost everything was dark and there was no information that they would be closing soon. So you couldn't really finish eating and you had to stop and leave. If we had been given any information, we would have gone somewhere else to eat. We will avoid this snack bar in the future!

You have to say it clearly. Disgusting food. Fries not crispy. Expensive and cheap Tk would be for an overpriced price. It just tastes bad and then the tables and floor are dirty. Stay away

Dirty tables, dirty floors, the air conditioning is completely rotten. Staff smoke and don't wash their hands afterwards. Service is zero. You have to carry every single dish to the table. You don't get a tray. Even the fries are so poorly fried that they are soft and undercooked. We can only advise against eating there.

Fries (really just a small bowl) with a little goulash sauce and mayo 7, 20 ..is that still possible? No more ...

Dirty tables, completely overpriced for portions that can be served to small children, but if I need 3 large fries with sauces to even fill me up, then something is really wrong. I also tried this sauerbraten sauce in one of my three “attempts”. Finally, I caught a glimpse of a shred of meat in the rather bland sauce. I won't go back here until the ownership and team have completely changed.

I am beyond disappointed with the poor customer service. Today we ordered drinks, fries, Frikandell, Kipkorn and burgers for just under €50. Our 4 year old son urgently needed to go to the toilet, when he asked to use the toilet he was told there was no customer toilet. I asked if he could use the staff toilet because it was urgent and he was still small. Here I was referred to the boss, who categorically rejected my request and directed me to the ice cream parlor across the street. So I rushed across a busy 50s street with no traffic lights and no crosswalks with a toddler who could barely stop his business. The staff in the ice cream parlor was very friendly and let us use the toilet straight away even though we weren't even customers there. That's how it should normally work, isn't it? When I came back I spoke to the boss again. Not letting an adult use the staff toilet is one thing, but turning away a small child who hasn't been able to stay for long is just an outrage. Also a comment and ambience and food. The table was not cleaned before or after us. The fries and frikandell were good, the burger was mediocre, the bun was half tattered and refrigerator cold in places. We're definitely not coming back! For everyone else, we recommend eating ice cream instead.

We ordered the daily special Wiener Schnitzel with fries and asparagus. Price was 15€ x2. What we got was a disgrace, the fries were too hard as if they had been fried several times and there were 3 asparagus spears with a hint of hollandaise.

The food really doesn't taste good. Had schnitzel that was very, very tough and fatty. The fries were soggy. There were a lot of products missing from the menu. Only one of 5 orders was available.

Food had cooled down... Incorrect execution of the order and was then treated in an unfriendly manner. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit. Staff can't cope with the stress and then become extremely unfriendly. Boss is sitting in the lounge bored, could consider hiring more staff instead!! Unfortunately the snack bar was also very unclean!!

The fries themselves as a basic product were really tasty, just a pity that a lot of salt was added to them. However, I had asked not to put too much salt on the fries. Furthermore, the portions of fries were very small. We also found it strange that everything on the menu board was only in German, even though we speak the German language very well. The staff also only speaks German. While the case is on Dutch territory.

Large portion of fries is reminiscent of small portion. The fries were fried in the same fat as the rest of the frozen goods, which unfortunately you can taste. The only positive memory I have is the friendly service.

So a normal fries for €3.50. I don't think there is a smaller bowl. The big fries aren't any better either. Nothing against the taste. It tastes really good. But please don't try to get rich by force. LG

Whenever we went shopping in Rothenbach, we ate something here. Unfortunately, this snack has extremely diminished. The portions have shrunk extremely but the prices have risen. Large portion of fries is now a small bowl. Between the fresh fries there are also fries that have already been fried twice and are rock hard. In addition, from 5:20 p.m. onwards, guests who are still eating are swept around. Staff is already checking you out. Won't be coming back again.

Der Imbiss auf dem Weg vom Gartencenter zurück nach Hause. Nach dem Schoppen das holländische Nationalgericht und dann ab nach Hause.

Schon weil es die Niederlande sind ist es gut. 4 Sterne sind wie fünf. Aber Luft nach oben gibt es immer

Hier wird eine gemischte Küche serviert. Alles was man von einer guten holländischen Friture erwartet gibt es hier. Dazu ein paar abenteuerlich anmutende kreationen wie gebratene Champignons, Speckwürfel, Zwiebel mit CurrySoße von Hela. Das ganze kommt über die wirklich richtig guten Pommes und schon ist alles verdorben. Die Zutaten waren kurz warm gemacht von braten keine Spur sah eigentlich wie gekocht aus. Schmeckte nach nix und der Hela Ketsch gab dem Gericht den Rest. Beim nächste Mal bleibe ich bei den Fritten und der Bami Scheibe.

Sehr gutes Kroatisches Restaurant mit guten Speisen und sehr freundlichen Personal. Das Essen ist immer frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich auf top Niveau. Das Ambiente ist sehr sauber und gemütlich. Einer der besten Kroatischen Restaurants im Umkreis.

Waren heute das erste Mal dort essen und sofort begeistert. Man wird freundlich bedient, das Essen war sehr gut und vor allem lecker und heiß. Pommes, Schnitzel, Bratrolle spezial und vieles mehr, einfach nur lecker. Wir waren nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Leider ziemlich enttäuschend. Da gibt es deutlich bessere holländische Imbissbuden um Umkreis! Unfreundliche Bedienung, die lieber am aufs Handy schaut anstatt einen zu bedienen. Begrüßt und verabschiedet wird man gar nicht bis unmotiviert. Preise extrem gehoben. "Große" Pommes mit Majo, die in vielen anderen Buden von der Menge maximal mittel wäre für € 3.50,- ist einfach zu viel.

Es war etwas voll als wir dort angekommen sind. Die Warteschlange wurde aber schnell und zügig abgearbeitet! Das Essen war lecker und typisch für einen Imbiss. Die Preise sind vollkommen ok! Das Personal war freundlich und hatte einen lockeren aber freundlich Spruch auf den Lippen. Es wird sowohl deutsch, wie auch niederländisch gesprochen.

Essen und der Service sind für jedermann gut!

Ein MUSS wenn man nach Holland fährt. Wir ziehen uns immer die XXL Frikandel (1 Fuss ~ 31cm) rein. Die schmeckt echt mega. Letztes Mal hatte ich aber Pommes mit Gulasch, kennt man in der Kombination als Deutscher nicht. Aber ich muss sagen Das war sehr lecker. Bis nächstes mal 🫡
