Unfortunately, I had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes for my food, and when I called, it was a dry "sorry, but your food left late," which is of no use to me, of course.

Should have looked more closely. I thought it was Surinamese-Hindu nasi and roti lamb curry. Connoisseurs know how delicious their curry dishes are, but unfortunately not. The nasi and lamb curry were really wrongly sweet and just didn't taste like I'm used to. Never again.

The bakkeljauw sandwich with pepper and pickles. Definitely one of the classics of Surinamese cuisine. Way, way too sweet. The pepper was okay, but too mild for me. The pickles were just a few pieces of store-bought gherkin. No sweet and sour cucumber. The bun was soggy and limp. Unfortunately, no repeat visit.

Honestly? It's fine. Apparently mixed reviews but my order arrived within less than 45 minutes, in absolute mayhem of a rain on top off it all. That deserves cred. Food was hot, tasteful, plenty, and I had enough left to save for lunch next day. The courier who came was not bothered by the rain but said "It's ok, man.". Respect.

We were looking for some Malaysian food and ended up at Roti Shop. We really enjoyed the food because of the spiciness and the nice Indian touch in the Malaysian dishes. The owner was friendly and welcoming, but the service could be improved a bit. The menu was slightly confusing for us, as the English section mainly showed Indian dishes while the Malaysian dishes were written in Dutch. Since we specifically wanted to try Malaysian food, it was difficult to know what to order. Luckily, the food was displayed, so we could simply point at the dishes we wanted. For 2 people, we paid around €40 for 2 main dishes, 1 fried bread, and 1 Fanta, which felt reasonable for Amsterdam. One thing we did not like was that a lady who was cleaning while wearing black gloves was also warming and serving food with the same gloves. That did not feel very hygienic and could definitely be improved. Overall, the food itself was tasty and flavorful, especially if you enjoy spicy food.

You really should never order here. First, the egg was missing from my roti, then the roti was dry, and finally, there was a hair in my food!!! Really disgusting

We picked up roti here. We picked it up there instead of via Thuisbezorgd because it is within walking distance and the restaurant doesn't have to pay a fee that way. While ordering, my girlfriend asked if the price listed on Thuisbezorgd applied, and they indicated that the price is always lower than on Thuisbezorgd if you pick it up; this is not true. Tip: if you order here, order via Thuisbezorgd and you will save more than 10%. Additionally, the "thigh" is a different part of a chicken leg than what was in my order; the "stick" is the lower part of the leg with little meat.

The noodles and meat were very dry. We had ordered chicken ketjap (not spicy), but it turned out to be very spicy after all. The only thing that was good was the Bakka baana.

Probably the worst roti I have eaten in Amsterdam so far. Unfortunately, I only saw the rating after I had ordered.

Worst I ever had. Slimy vegetables that must have been frozen. Weird sweet sauce on the vegetables. Spicy beans not spicy. More potatoes than anything else. Don’t do it. Just don’t. Life is too short for this.

We ordered often and it was always tasty. Delivery time wasn't, always late, but okay. Until now, that is.... I'm never ordering again. Ordered last Tuesday and got so sick afterwards.. and now, after 5 days, still sick. Read that I'm not the only one. Great!

Ordered ob Uber eats, after 30 min we got a notification that the delivery is on it's way (10 min by bike). 30 min after that we called for the first time and were told the order should arrive in the next 5 min. 20 and 40 min later we called again, similar response from the restaurant. Order arrived 2+ hours after ordering (prepared over 1,5 hours ago). Food was not great, soggy but even fresh it would not have been amazing.

Don't order from here. They're probably too busy, but food ordered through Uber Eats isn't arriving. Luckily, it was still possible to cancel it through Uber. The phone response was vague, and I was dismissed several times.

The bara is inedible; I had to use five paper towels to remove the oil. I don't need to explain how to make bara, do I?! Cod sandwich and chicken satay sandwich, no sour sauce. Bread + contents = done! And what are you asking for? €8! Unbelievable, nauseating, dry, full of oil, the food tasted awful at all. Waste of money. I hope you read reviews so you can make some changes to the food.

Very disappointing experience. Honestly, one of the worst rotis I've ever had. 1. The portion size is ridiculously small for the price. 2. The roti doesn't come with an egg (you have to order that separately). 3. The chicken leg roti only contained two small pieces of chicken — €16.95 + €1.80 for an egg = €18.75 total. 4. The lamb roti costs €20.50 + €1.80 for an egg = €22.30 total. So, a total of €41.05 for two mediocre rotis. That's absurdly expensive. I understand we're in Amsterdam, but this makes no sense. The delivery also took a very long time. Never ever again 🙏🏻

Delivery always takes at least 1.5 hours, whether you order in the afternoon or evening. Poor communication. Very annoying. They prefer you to order through their own app, which takes even longer there!

It takes them forever to deliver food, I ordered through Uber Eats, currently waited for 2 hours for my food. When I called them for an update they were extremely rude (delivery guy was fine though). Food was pretty good though.

Ordered at 18:48, delivery supposed to take 37 minutes, called at 19:44. They told me courier was on its way. Now, I live 15 minutes from the restaurant by bicycle. Food did not arrive at 20:15 yet. Then I called again at 20:15 and they would call me back within 2 minutes. which they did not do. It is 20:20 now. So, they lie on the phone and it takes light years to get your food. Don't do it here. You will be starting and get mediocre food (overcooked beef, undercooked patatoes, bland tasting roti. Tempeh was ok. Order elsewhere.

The third time, it was supposed to be here in 15 minutes, but after 30 minutes, I called again, only to be told, "I'll call and get back to you." Ordered through Thuisbezorgd and honestly, such a waste of money. The bakabana was soggy and tasted really bad compared to all the ones I’ve had before. The rice was dry, the roti wasn’t good either. Even the fried dough appetizer was so oily ! I loved the yellow spicy sauce they send with the food ! I ate it next day with the food i cooked at home ! Delivery also took quite long, and to make it worse they forgot the pinda sauce. When I called, the lady kept saying she had added the extra cup I ordered… but it simply wasn’t there. And they did send it with another driver later ! ( which is a good sign tho , that they do care if the order is not complete ).. To be honest, this might be the worst Surinamese food I’ve had in Holland. Maybe I was just unlucky that day, I don’t know… i wish them the best and i hope they do care about the way they pack the things so the food will be delivered is better condition !

Thuisbezorg order - says 30-40 mins delivery time. But it’s been 1 hour 15 min and counting. And they lie to you on the phone if you call them saying the courier just left and will be there in 10 mins or so. (I called at 2:11pm and it’s now 2:50pm and still nothing) Just cut the BS and be honest about the wait time.

After waiting over an hour and a half, almost two hours actually, the food arrived. Apparently, it was very busy. In the meantime, I called to ask for a 50% discount because the delivery time was taking so long. After opening the bag, it turned out that not everything was delivered and that part was wrong. I called again, and it would be deducted from the bill. The unfortunate thing is that the food is quite good, but because of the long waits and the incorrect delivery, I won't be ordering from here again anytime soon. I'll wait and see what I get back. It's to their credit that it's offered. If it does happen, it certainly makes up for the long wait and the incorrect delivery. Update: I haven't received a refund, and I haven't heard anything since. All in all, I won't be ordering from here again.

This used to be one of my favorite places to get spicy chicken nasi, but unfortunately. Quality has been going downhill for a while, but now they've even started scamming. Not recommended anymore. If you order spicy chicken nasi special without a promotion, you get 2 containers. But if you order the same one with a 1+1 promotion, you still only get two containers. So it's not 1 + 1 of the original, but a much smaller portion and then that 1+1 for the same price. Called them, and they say they do that with all promotions. Strange practices.

Ordered online through their website. Food took 1:45 to be delivered and 2 items were missing. When trying to call them and tell them, they hung up on me in the middle of the call.

After ordering many times: food always good but delivery always terribly late. After having to wait another 1.5 hours, this is now the last time I ordered here.

Amazing authentic Surinamese food managed by friendly helpful staff. Rotis both vegetarian and non vegetarian were superb. They also do Indian! Thank you for a lovely meal!

So far the food has always been tasty and warm, as we always receive it. Delivery times alone are something to do something about because they are just really bad. Address that and overall stars will rise. I've never been inside myself so I can't say much about it for now.
