This place is the real deal, Swedish fika to its finest! Good quality cappuccino and next to that, the swedish cinnamon bun was delicious, very similar to what you can find in Stockholm. Service was good but sadly they have almost no seating space, its a place mostly for take-away, great nonetheless!

This is a great little find! I was staying at the nearby nhow hotel for a long weekend and found this cafe on Google Maps. So pleased I did! Crossed the road and as soon as I went around the corner, I could smell freshly baked goods. It was amazing! Grabbed a coffee and the most delicious cardamom bun. Friendly team and fast service. Well worth visiting if you're nearby.

Best coffee and cinnamon roll in Amsterdam!

Love the buns, unfortunately no option for a good americano here and quite pricey, even for Amsterdam. Despite those minor downsides, it’s a place a keep visiting. Good atmosphere and kind staff.

A must-visit for breakfast! The Kanelbulle is amazing, as are the almond and cardamom brioches. The cappuccino and coffee are all excellent. The space isn't huge, but it's large enough to enjoy a high-quality breakfast in peace.

They have one of, if not the, best cardamom buns I’ve ever had. And I’ve tried around 40 different ones this year alone from bakeries all over Europe. The texture was incredibly fluffy but still had a nice bite and chew to it. The amount of cardamom was super generous, with a mix of ground and crushed pods. It was so fragrant, and you could actually taste that warm aftertaste from the cardamom. It was simply amazing!

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place, but it was such a disappointment. I paid €6 for a matcha that was clearly premade and tasted… weird. Not just bland or bitter—something about it was just off. Definitely not worth the price. The pastries looked nice, but the taste reminded me of something you’d get from Albert Heijn. Nothing fresh or special about them at all. And the service? Pretty cold and uninterested. No smile, no effort. I felt like I was bothering them just by ordering. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was frustrating enough to say something. Wouldn’t recommend, and definitely not going back.

I’ve been coming for 2,5 years and I’m sorry to say that I feel like coming less and less often due to the prices. Yes Ams is expensive for everyone but paying 6+€ for a matcha in a small cup is too much. I also love your choco cookie but it has also increased sadly. So this is to say, I’d love to come more often but not with these prices. On the other hand, the other day I came is a 2 min to 16h and one of the employees was showing hesitation and looking at his watch. I felt awkward. He could have just told me sorry I want to close, but he made it like I was asking a huge favor. I didn’t find this appropriate, you should be thankful I come to SE.

I had the most delicious flat white and almond bun. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was very lovely! Highly recommend a visit ( just opposite the Rai).

Fabulous cardamom buns and cinnamon rolls, warm and fluffy from the oven. Pastry and coffee drinks are 4.5€ each, which I guess is on the more expensive side but totally worth it. Delicious!

Great coffee and one of the best pastries i've ever had

Cardamom and cinnamon buns were fluffy, dense (in a good way) and flavorful. Coffee was also quite tasty and liked the place’s minimalist vibe. It does feel more like a place to buy and go, not seating, given the lack of seats and relatively dark interiors.

Honestly this is the best coffee ive had in a really long time and the pastry is unbelievable. I ve found finally the best spot to start my day. Daniella is lovely and the barista super talented. Great job guys 🙌🏼

Cute little bakery with friendly staff. Limited indoor seating, but enough to have a quick coffee and bun. The baked goods are rather expensive, but they are generous in size, delicious, and wonderful quality. Whilst their cinnamon bun seems to be their best seller, I personally preferred the cardamom bun. Both were better than any I tried during our onward trip to Paris. Oat milk available as the only non-dairy alternative.

The Cardamom bun is a soft delicious cloud of goodness!!! Made me want to try everything in the case. Other items are bread pudding, savory danish, chocolate chip cookies and a selection of other buns (hazelnut, almond, cinnamon). They also have a very happy barista making custom drinks. If you are near Europaplein you must stop in!! You won’t be disappointed.

Really excellent! We got the cookie and the almond bun and they were both really good. For the coffee we asked the staff for advice and we were very satisfied.

I just had the best toasted cheese sandwich at this place. Really tasty mix of cheeses and they put a sweet coffee glaze on it after toasting it which sounds odd but is actually incredibly good. They’re also very nice people.

The new beef pastrami toasti is so good! And coffee is good as usual. But it’s really sitable in the shop. But I think in the summer, they would put the benches outside again!

There are plenty of other cafés to be found in this area. Staff aint that friendly and told me it is only take away despite seeing some reviews here selecting dine in incl. photos, a bit questionable. 🤨 additionally, it is really expensive for takeaway.

Cosy place with quality pastries. But the coffee has a soapy, overly bitter flavour. Unpleasant aftertaste.

Ordered a pear and blue cheese Danish. Was freshly baked and tasted great. Sharp cheese against a sweet fruit is hard to beat on a fresh pastry. Cardamom bun came highly recommended but I cannot say it was my favorite. Staff were both friendly and accommodating. Would definitely visit again.

It used to be a cosy place, now they have fridge instead of sofa, no tables, way fewer places to seat. Grab your drink and go, nobody wants you there

Not very special despite the popularity of this place, unfriendly service (experienced this a few times unfortunately), very distant. At the back of the bakery and in their garden behind it, it looks very messy and crowded. The coffee is fine but not outstanding in terms of taste.

Somewhat disappointed with the taste of the Kanelbulle (cinnamon roll). I have been eating kanelbullar since my childhood. They are fresh and look great (a bit large perhaps), but could do with more cinnamon and kardemon. They are not like the traditional bullar. Is this a case of shrinkflation or watering down to cater to some mass audience taste? It is a pity, could be great.

One of the best (and oldest) specialty coffees in Amsterdam. Delicate light-roasted beans, delicious bakery (no croissants, though!), and attention to detail: e.g. they put coffee ice in their cold brew and tonic to make sure that water doesn't dilute the drink Unlike the location in de Pijp, this one seldom has the long queues and is rather quiet and cozy

Went in and ordered a cardamom roll and a danish to go. The waiter asked if I wanted a box for the danish, I said I don’t need it as I will it right away and just a napkin is enough. She the proceeds to place the danish and the roll in a bag, I’m ok, it’s fine. Once I walk out and open the bag, I’m surprised to see that she forgot about the laws of physics and placed the danish sideways against the bag with all the jam falling in the bag. Amazing. Flavor wise the danish was decent, the jam, idk was all spread on the bag. The roll was a bit raw inside but tasty

My all time favourite coffee place in the Netherlands. Great for coffee & cinnamon rolls and all treats. This place near RAI serves only batch brews but they’re fresh & as good as V60 Filters!

They knead their doughs very well, what results in soft and even texture buns (this is a rare occurrence nowadays in bakeries). So far what I have tried - they are the best in Amsterdam. I definitely recommend this place as a person, who bakes as well.

Extremely good light-roasted coffee (as you might expect following the name of the place), we had a flat white and a filter coffee (batch) yesterday. The flat white was extraordinary (coffee collective beans and great preparation), the batch was good but obviously not good enough for one of the employees who tried from the same batch later and brought us a new cup from a different batch (different beans too bc the other ones were a bit older). I did taste a little bit of the "olderness" but didn't mind it, when I was almost finished, one employee came to us and offered us a cup from the fresh batch he made (for free) bc he thought the quality wasn't high enough. I work in specialty coffee myself and I know enough employees who either wouldn't notice the difference in the batch or wouldn't care to offer the guest a new cup, so I was really really happy about that service! Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time sitting in front of the shop, chatting and enjoying our coffees and snacks from the bakery (great cinammon buns btw!).

New location which is less busy that the one in De Pijp. The coffee is always good, as well as the almond bun we got. However, the service is not great - you order coffee and then you don’t know what happens, you pick up or they bring it to you. Also, there is no sugar or spoons for the coffee and had to ask twice to get both of them. Lastly, the fact that it is a considerable space poorly used, not enough sitting areas, is quite annoying - you pay 5 euros for an item and then good luck finding out where to sit. It’s unfortunate to see this trend in coffee places around Amsterdam.

Definitely one of the best places to have a cinnamon bun and coffee. I really like the one in Europaplein. The one next to Sarphati Park is always busy but this one has more space to sit and enjoy the time. Staff is always welcoming and helpful that feels like a neighborhood cafe to stop by.

Nice little scandi inspired cafe. Nice quiet and informal atmosphere. Not quite as wide a range of baked goods as other specialist Danish / Swedish establishments, but a nice selection (at breakfast) and very tasty.

Fresh buns, nice and friendly atmosphere…

My partner and I are thrilled that we've finally discovered the perfect coffee spot in Amsterdam. We've hopped in and out of hundreds of coffee spots, but now we've found the one we'll keep coming back to forever. I’m talking about the quality of espresso and milk – oh wow. They are friendly and patient with Deaf people like us, and this holds true for both locations. They can take my money from now on.

Hands down some of the best coffee in Amsterdam. I much prefer this place to the one by Sarphati park as it's less busy and the bakery selection is much bigger.

Cozy bakery and cafe that offers authentic Nordic pastries. All their items are great but I especially like their cardamom and almond buns. Definitely try their semla buns in February when they offer them as they are incredible. The coffee here is also very good and you can't go wrong with any espresso-based drink to dunk your pastry in.

A good place to visit, but the SE at De Pijp is way better in variety and taste.

Cool little bakery with nice staff. I came because of various reviews that this is where the best cinnamon roll in Amsterdam is. Unfortunately, it was extremely dry and didn't taste like much. Probably the worst cinnamon roll of my life, sorry!

One of the best coffee shops in this area! The milk was beautifully steamed in my flat white, it was silky and shiny. I’ve come across quite a number of overheated and scorched cappuccino and latte drinks in this area but loved the drinks here!

Prachtig koffietentje met vriendelijke jongens en meisjes. Eindelijk weer eens in Amsterdam wilde ik dit graag eens proberen. Gevraagd naar de cinnamon bun.
