We had a wonderful meal, beautifully presented plates with a palette of flavors. The tartare and pork belly were delicious, and the fish of the day, sea bass, was superb. Friendly service and good explanations of the dishes. A fantastic restaurant! And it's great that you can also order smaller portions!

Wonderful food, Maurits! All three courses: the first one was wonderful to savor, the creaminess of the dairy, the crunch of the kohlrabi, and the beetroot, so beautifully cooked. The sauce, and something else in it, had a savory note every now and then. The main course was a familiar one…candied…you can just lift the bone out. If only I still had Yves's eyes… Your mousse had a lovely consistency… The orange peels that reappeared in two dishes. I know why I'm eating at your place.

The food was delicious and the service fantastic. What lovely, knowledgeable ladies were working there that evening! However, there was a very large and incredibly noisy group. We found that a shame and a nuisance; we had trouble hearing each other, which is a shame for an intimate dinner. If you want to continue hosting large groups, you'll need to do some soundproofing (tablecloths, something on the walls, because the ceiling is beautiful. It's a shame to insulate it... but the walls can be done!

Mau's Bistro is the best bistro in Wijk bij Duurstede and the surrounding area. Enjoy the most delicious dishes, all freshly prepared, in a homey atmosphere. Last time we were there with nine people, we found the acoustics remarkably good. The outdoor terrace is phenomenal; adjacent to the charming market square, at the foot of the church, you can sit in the evening sun until late. But if we're completely honest, we come mainly for the chefs and waitstaff; they are hospitable, cheerful, always up for a pleasant conversation, and incredibly dedicated to their beautiful restaurant. Mau and his little Maus are the best for us!

What a fantastic Crunchy Chicken burger! Beautifully tender chicken thigh, soaked overnight in buttermilk, and you can really taste it. The fresh coleslaw and the kick of the chili oil complete the dish. Delicious!!! Highly recommended.

We've been coming to Maurits (formerly Sempre Lui, now Mau's Bistro) for years. It's our favorite restaurant, with high-quality dishes prepared by Maurits, who knows what tastes good. Add to that the excellent service, his expertise in wine, and above all, his hospitality, and you have all the ingredients for a fantastic evening! We dined here again last night (9/9), and that was the launch of the new menu. We always choose the family table, so you can sample several dishes from each course (four in total). And Maurits surprised us again with beautiful, eye-catching, and mouthwatering dishes (meat and vegetarian options are top-notch here!). Thanks again to Maurits and the team; we're happy to remain part of La Famiglia!

A really delicious and varied 4 course tasting menu shared by the 3 of us, plus wine. Reasonable prices. A busy Friday night so it took some time to get served all the courses, but we were full to bursting by the end.

Sitting outside was nice, but the waitress was a bit clumsy and spilled beer all over a friend's pants. It was more of a very subdued apology. The restrooms could be a bit cleaner.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend with the family dinner concept. Food took a very long time between dishes (Sometimes 30+ minutes). It was half full, maybe a little fuller. Some dishes also didn't seem quite right. Gnocchi was soggy and other things seemed to have been under the warming lamp for a while. Main course and dessert saved the day. But it just seemed like the dishes were not served by the staff, so after waiting 30 minutes you had to finish your food after 5 minutes and have to wait again. All in all we sat for 2.5 hours and not once did we ask for an extra drink or something like that.

Ate at Maurits for the 3rd time. Now the new concept. We went for the specials menu. It was once again delicious and culinary. In addition, the bill was a big surprise. You can enjoy delicious food for a small price at Mau's Bistro. We will definitely come back again.

We hebben hier enorm heerlijk gegeten en een fijne avond gehad. We hadden gekozen voor sharing diner met passende wijn arrangement. Leuk om met elkaar de gerechten te delen. Het eten is met liefde en met verzorging klaargemaakt. Je smaakpapillen worden enorm verwend met de gerechten die werden geserveerd. Echt elke gerecht was mooi om te zien, de smaken waren uniek maar zeer toegankelijk. De wijnen die erbij geschonken werden pasten er goed bij. De serveerster wist bij elke wijn goed te vertellen wat voor een wijn het is. De eigenaar die in de keuken kookt en personeel zijn zeer vriendelijk en toegankelijk. Je voelt je enorm welkom en nemen de tijd voor je. Ze weten waar ze voor staan en stralen dit ook echt uit! Het is een erg fijn, warm en open sfeer in het restaurant. Echt een aanrader! Wij gaan hier zeker vaker heen en raden iedereen aan om te gaan! Echt een fijne beleving en verzekerd van een fijne avond.

We had a more than delicious meal at Semper Lui yesterday. We had the family package where you share a 4 course dinner 2 by 2. It was super tasty, very special flavors and beautifully presented. It was accompanied by a delicious wine arrangement. For the BOB they had a separate wine arrangement so they could still taste it. The staff was super friendly and pleasant and the pace at which the courses were served was also very nice, no rush but a pleasant evening of filling dinner (we started at 7:00 PM and finished at 10:30 PM)

De kaart is origineel, verrassend en er is voor ieder wat wils. Alle gerechten werden mooi gepresenteerd en de smaken waren perfect op elkaar afgestemd. Echt top! We subsequently opted for a family table (tip!), this is a shared things concept. Taste delicious dishes with good company. We will definitely come back again!

Really good staff! Attentive, polite, friendly! Quite a small place, and despite a clever attempt with bubble foam under the tables, it gets noisy as soon as the bottles of wine start to run out. The audience here likes a good glass of wine. Starter, nothing wrong with the vitello (although the portion could have been a little larger). I think the mackerel is the least dish on the menu. Mackerel ceviche and then with various mousses. The whole thing is very busy (and I just like mackerel much better grilled), there are really a lot of flavors happening on your plate. Ravioli is homemade and comes in a delicious sauce. Well balanced dish. Ribeye well cooked (nice and red but not cold!) Baked polenta someone missed a piece with the pepper but hey, it can happen. Onion gravy was a bit salty. I thought the dish as a whole was more French than Italian, but it doesn't taste any less good. My partner enjoyed the salmon. For dessert the cheese, nice selection including cheeses that you don't often see. Points of improvement: Vegetables were very scarce. Some carbs would have been nice. Would you like to add a basket of bread, if only to wipe up the delicious sauces?

Zeer vriendelijke en fijne bediening die een verrukkelijk verrassings menu uitserveerden. Enthousiasme van de 'zwarte brigade' en vakmanschap van de 'witte brigade' spat er van af.... Diner werd begeleidt door heerlijke, bijpassende wijnen. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is prima. Een aanrader!

There was an extensive wine list, but we fancied a beer. When we asked for a beer list, we received an A4 sheet with promotional texts. But the basic information was missing: the alcohol percentage and the price. Also a pity: Radler is not in the range.
