Sempre Lui in Wijk 00 Wijk bij Duurstede

Had a lovely time having drinks; good wines and by far the best oysters we have eaten outside of France. The other food served around us also looked fantastic; we will definitely be back for dinner.

Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly. Cozy atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

Had a delicious meal on the cozy, atmospheric terrace

Fantastic food, amazing staff, and a beautiful, atmospheric location, both inside and outside on the lovely, spacious terrace.

The menu could be more extensive for me.

Had a delicious meal at Mau’s bistro .. service was great, friendly and nice … food was delicious … good cook, Maud … 👌👌👌

You were supposed to receive a loyalty card for every 35 euros spent, but I haven't seen any of it.

We had a delicious meal and the dishes were surprising! We will definitely be back.

First enjoyed lovely drinks with delicious snacks, and then shared small portions of mouthwatering dishes. Fine wines and cocktails. Definitely recommended!

Great, flavorful, good portions, and very important.....warm plates

Cozy restaurant in Wijk bij Duurstede. Friendly and attentive service and really delicious food. We feasted on oysters, steak tartare, raw tuna, chicken roulade, sirloin steak, tuna & pork belly, and duck breast. Busy and pleasantly noisy restaurant in the center! Highly recommended!

We had a delicious meal and a great time.

What incredibly delicious food! Refined flavors, beautifully and perfectly prepared. Wonderful sauces that truly elevate the dish to a seriously high level. I wondered who this chef was because, really, I 'very rarely' see such beautifully put together dishes. It was so delicious that we were speechless and focused on every bite to truly experience it. Personally, I had the butter mackerel and the tuna ceviche as a starter. Truly very pleasantly surprised; we will definitely be coming back more often.

Dining at Mau's Bistro is always a treat. And what I personally really appreciate is the choice of portion sizes. We started with a glass of wine on the terrace, beginning with tender pork belly and butter mackerel in a beautiful orange/qum quat sauce. This was followed by a tasty steak tartare, delicious fries, and confit duck leg. We hadn't planned on it, but ended up devouring a tasty chocolate mousse together. Maurits cooks fantastically! We will be back soon to feast. P&R

A wonderful evening out with exquisite dishes, fine wines, and abundant hospitality.

Cozy little restaurant. Nice, professional staff. Good menu and delicious dishes and wines. Definitely worth the price/quality ratio. Highly recommended.

We had a delicious meal, especially the butter mackerel was delectable! Unfortunately, it is very noisy, so you have to talk loudly to understand each other. Tip: install sound-dampening materials.

Fantastic food. Nice atmosphere.

We had a delicious meal; we had a family table with wine pairing and it was really great!

Had a delicious meal, great service, and a cozy atmosphere.

What a lovely place, good service, but especially fantastic food! Highly recommended; it is and remains an asset to Wijk bij Duurstede!!

We had a four-course surprise menu. Every course was perfect: generous portions, prepared with care, attractively presented, and delicious flavor combinations. A good variety of meat, vegetarian, and fish. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had a delicious meal at Mau's bistro. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious flavors and friendly service.

Very atmospheric restaurant, we chose the family table, very surprising and super tasty. Beautifully presented plates and good explanations of the dishes.

Had a delicious meal, an experience worth repeating!

Had a delicious meal on a sunny terrace in the center of Wijk bij Duurstede. Friendly service, tasty dishes with surprising flavors!

Delicious food and friendly staff

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere

We ended up here by chance because we had to be in Wijk bij Duurstede. But what a fantastic meal we had, and for that price!! We had the family table and every dish was incredibly tasty. The waitresses were quick and could tell us exactly what was on our plates, and compliments to the chef as well. If we are ever in the area again….

Had a delicious meal and drinks, in good company, with lovely staff!

Had another excellent meal at an atmospheric restaurant in the old town of Wijk bij Duurstede. Lovely on a Tuesday evening. Superb fresh fish (sea bass), preceded by Asian pork belly accompanied by sublime Rosé. The duck leg is also excellent. Super service. We will definitely be back and look forward to the renovated terrace in April.

Mau's Bistro has certainly earned its place in Wijk bij Duurstede. Delicious family dish with a nice variety of dishes. All served by two very attentive ladies!

It is a beautiful, small, cozy restaurant with good food. We were helped very well by the two waitresses. The food was explained well, and they regularly asked if we were still okay. I appreciate this, because then you are never without a drink. The food also tasted very good. You can tell that the food is made with love. The price-quality ratio is therefore good. So, we went home with full bellies and good service. Thanks for all the delicious food! Oh yes, we even got an extra Italian cookie from the chef 😁

Maurits offers Michelin-starred cuisine at brasserie prices. Choose the 4-course family-style meal with the wine pairing and be amazed by the beautiful and delicious dishes and surprising wine pairings. You've never eaten so well! The service is also excellent and the setting is beautiful in the heart of Wijk bij Duurstede. Superlatives are simply not enough. This is truly an absolute must for true connoisseurs!

We had a lovely evening at Mau's Bistro, excellent service and delicious dishes. Definitely recommended.

We had a wonderful meal! Surprising dishes and the perfect portion size!

We had a delicious meal! We had a surprise menu for the whole group, and every dish was unique and surprising. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and Maurits really spoiled us with culinary delights. Highly recommended!

What a warm and inviting restaurant. You feel incredibly welcome! The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is truly pure and passionately prepared by the chef/owner. It's a sight to behold on the plate. The flavors are truly explosive, yet distinctly so. It's a very accessible restaurant with excellent value for money. The wines we enjoyed with it were delicious. Definitely recommended if you're in Wijk bij Duurstede!

A cozy, atmospheric restaurant where you can eat fantastically well for a very reasonable price. The vegetarian dishes are amazing, the presentation of the plates is a work of art, and the meat and fish dishes are delicious! We've been here many times and hope to be able to visit many more times.

A stylishly decorated space with a warm ambiance, attentive and friendly service and excellent food.

We had a delicious meal, with surprising twists on familiar dishes. A nice wine list.

What a wonderful evening! Friendly, attentive staff, and delicious dishes beautifully presented. In short, a cozy restaurant for a successful, intimate dinner with your loved one, family, or friends!

We had a wonderful meal, beautifully presented plates with a palette of flavors. The tartare and pork belly were delicious, and the fish of the day, sea bass, was superb. Friendly service and good explanations of the dishes. A fantastic restaurant! And it's great that you can also order smaller portions!

Wonderful food, Maurits! All three courses: the first one was wonderful to savor, the creaminess of the dairy, the crunch of the kohlrabi, and the beetroot, so beautifully cooked. The sauce, and something else in it, had a savory note every now and then. The main course was a familiar one…candied…you can just lift the bone out. If only I still had Yves's eyes… Your mousse had a lovely consistency… The orange peels that reappeared in two dishes. I know why I'm eating at your place.

We had another wonderful meal and drinks. They paid close attention to the presentation of the dishes, the flavors, and the diverse textures. The accompanying wines were delicious. The family table is always a treat to be surprised by!

Easily the best value for money of all the restaurants in Wijk (and the surrounding area). The flavors and presentation of the dishes immediately reveal their passion for good food. The steak tartare and the burned cheesecake were highly recommended. The extensive wine list is a nice bonus. You'll definitely be back.

It was a wonderful evening, with excellent service, a warm atmosphere, and great music. The food was truly delicious—in short, a truly memorable night out!

A really nice restaurant! A pleasant surprise in Wijk bij Duurstede after a long time. Definitely recommended, a very nice bistro! You can tell they cook with passion and care, and you can taste it in the dishes. Definitely recommend stopping by!

The food was delicious and the service fantastic. What lovely, knowledgeable ladies were working there that evening! However, there was a very large and incredibly noisy group. We found that a shame and a nuisance; we had trouble hearing each other, which is a shame for an intimate dinner. If you want to continue hosting large groups, you'll need to do some soundproofing (tablecloths, something on the walls, because the ceiling is beautiful. It's a shame to insulate it... but the walls can be done!

We had a super delicious 4-course meal. Highly recommended.

Mau's Bistro is the best bistro in Wijk bij Duurstede and the surrounding area. Enjoy the most delicious dishes, all freshly prepared, in a homey atmosphere. Last time we were there with nine people, we found the acoustics remarkably good. The outdoor terrace is phenomenal; adjacent to the charming market square, at the foot of the church, you can sit in the evening sun until late. But if we're completely honest, we come mainly for the chefs and waitstaff; they are hospitable, cheerful, always up for a pleasant conversation, and incredibly dedicated to their beautiful restaurant. Mau and his little Maus are the best for us!

The food was delicious. High-quality cuisine at a reasonable price. If you enjoy good food, you have to try this.

What a lovely bistro this is! We had a delicious meal, and you can choose a small or large portion for each dish. Perfect! The service was very friendly, and the restaurant is cozy. If you're in Wijk bij Duurstede, it's an absolute must.

We had a wonderful evening. The food is always surprising and delicious. The wines are well-matched. The service is also excellent. Friendly ladies who go above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. See you next time!

Enjoyed a very good surprise menu.

We had an exclusive lunch for a group and thoroughly enjoyed Maurits's delicious meal and hospitality. Highly recommended in Wijk!

The food was absolutely delicious! Maurits served wonderful dishes to share. Very varied and all equally delicious. And all of that accompanied by delicious wines. Highly recommended!

We had a delicious meal, lovely top service.

This is a special place to enjoy a delicious meal in a homely, cozy atmosphere. It is one of the best restaurants in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug region and is highly recommended!

What a fantastic Crunchy Chicken burger! Beautifully tender chicken thigh, soaked overnight in buttermilk, and you can really taste it. The fresh coleslaw and the kick of the chili oil complete the dish. Delicious!!! Highly recommended.

Delicious food, nice bistro. Only very noisy when the restaurant is full; some soundproofing should definitely be installed.

Beautiful space. Delicious food, fantastic flavors, beautifully presented.

Very refined, just that little bit extra!

The food was absolutely delicious! The dishes were delicious, especially the desserts, which were truly amazing! It was a busy evening, but we didn't have to wait long at all. The waitresses were fantastic. Highly recommended. Xx

Sublimely delicious food, very flavorful. Everything was equally delicious. A family table for 8 worked perfectly. Highly recommended!!

Both the 3-course meat menu and the vegetarian menu were surprising in terms of taste, the atmosphere was great, very cozy, well worth it

We had a delicious and special meal in a lovely atmosphere. We really appreciated the option of smaller portions.

A really nice restaurant! Great atmosphere and delicious food. A truly culinary experience!

We've been coming to Maurits (formerly Sempre Lui, now Mau's Bistro) for years. It's our favorite restaurant, with high-quality dishes prepared by Maurits, who knows what tastes good. Add to that the excellent service, his expertise in wine, and above all, his hospitality, and you have all the ingredients for a fantastic evening! We dined here again last night (9/9), and that was the launch of the new menu. We always choose the family table, so you can sample several dishes from each course (four in total). And Maurits surprised us again with beautiful, eye-catching, and mouthwatering dishes (meat and vegetarian options are top-notch here!). Thanks again to Maurits and the team; we're happy to remain part of La Famiglia!

A really delicious and varied 4 course tasting menu shared by the 3 of us, plus wine. Reasonable prices. A busy Friday night so it took some time to get served all the courses, but we were full to bursting by the end.

Really super delicious food, great service, you are really seen, recommended

A must-do in Wijk bij Duurstede. A lovely spot in the evening sun on a historic square in Wijk. The dishes are well-prepared and carefully prepared. A wonderful wine selection. Even vegetarians can enjoy pasta-free dining. Highly recommended 👍 😊

Exquisite food, excellent service, cozy atmosphere. 10/10 recommend.

Sitting outside was nice, but the waitress was a bit clumsy and spilled beer all over a friend's pants. It was more of a very subdued apology. The restrooms could be a bit cleaner.

Sublime dinner at Mau's Bistro – an evening to cherish What a wonderful experience at Mau's Bistro! We opted for the Family Table for two, and what a party it was. Each dish was a surprising taste sensation – refined, creative and meticulously taken care of, including in terms of presentation. The matching wines matched this seamlessly: wonderfully selected and carefully explained. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm, tasteful and intimate, with music that sets just the right tone. The service is professional, to the point and attentive – just the way you want it. We also had a very nice conversation with the guests at the table next to us, which made the evening even more special. In short: an absolute must for anyone who enjoys culinary enjoyment in a nice ambiance. Compliments to Maurits and the entire team – you really make it something special.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend with the family dinner concept. Food took a very long time between dishes (Sometimes 30+ minutes). It was half full, maybe a little fuller. Some dishes also didn't seem quite right. Gnocchi was soggy and other things seemed to have been under the warming lamp for a while. Main course and dessert saved the day. But it just seemed like the dishes were not served by the staff, so after waiting 30 minutes you had to finish your food after 5 minutes and have to wait again. All in all we sat for 2.5 hours and not once did we ask for an extra drink or something like that.

Good restaurant with quality dishes and good service. But there is still a lot of room for improvement, for example in the presentation of the dishes

Top shop, good food. Short ribs are highly recommended.

Wonderful evening. Enjoyed the 'family table', so that we could taste many different dishes together. Absolutely recommended!

5/5 Top three tastiest dishes I've ever had. Nice atmosphere and good service. 5/5

Nice atmosphere, super fast service, and very tasty food!

I recently had a delicious meal here with friends! We were warmly welcomed and received a bubble from the house. The food was really delicious and the atmosphere is very nice! Definitely recommended!

Ate at Maurits for the 3rd time. Now the new concept. We went for the specials menu. It was once again delicious and culinary. In addition, the bill was a big surprise. You can enjoy delicious food for a small price at Mau's Bistro. We will definitely come back again.

Insanely delicious food! Portions just right and it tasted great. Highly recommended!

Wonderful low-key bistro for an evening of delicious food and a good glass of wine! The chef and his team serve nice dishes with an entertaining bistro twist. Definitely recommended if you are in the area :)

At Mau's Bistro you will experience an evening that truly excels on all fronts. We have been there twice now, once before and once after the switch from Semper lui to Mau's bistro. The concept may have changed, but the quality of the food remains the same, in other words delicious! The new concept not only offers unique dishes that surprise your taste buds, but it also exudes a cozy, cozy atmosphere in which you immediately feel welcome. The service is top notch, professional and personal, they also take the time to explain everything to you. The menu is anything but standard, with a range of unique dishes. The matching wines enhance every taste and make food even more enjoyable. The bites (drinks) are a delicious start to the evening or for a pleasant afternoon. We had the surprise dinner (Mau's special) and that is highly recommended. For three courses you will be taken on a culinary journey of beautiful flavors and textures that you will not soon forget. Each course is a taste sensation in itself. You notice that the chef is not only technically skilled, but also puts together the dishes with a lot of passion and creativity. In short, Mau's Bistro offers a unique dining experience that you should not miss. The perfect combination of fine dishes, excellent service and an atmosphere that gives you the feeling that you are somewhere special. Definitely a place you'll want to visit again and again!

Had a lovely drink with the team from Beach Club Woody's at the new Mau's Bistro. What an amazing thing! Beautiful ambiance, very friendly and professional service and the chef/owner came to the table for a chat. We will definitely come back! Thanks again for the great evening!

Great food, bistro +! Intimate atmosphere, beautiful flavors and delicious wines! Just do it ;)

Very original menu with beautiful dishes. Everything tastes delicious. The atmosphere is great. Warm, relaxed and cozy. And very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Really good food, family table and it was really bizarre! Thank you for the great service and a nice evening.

Great business! What a delicious meal we had! Delicious creative dishes with a fun concept called the family table. With this menu, several courses are served to share. A fun way to taste different dishes! Very friendly owner with professional service. The restaurant itself also has a cozy and warm interior.

Super lekker gegeten in een goede sfeer met een zeer vriendelijke bediening. We hebben een zeer leuke avond gehad met z'n vieren. Komen zeker terug.

We had a very delicious meal in this small, but very nice restaurant.

We had a more than delicious meal at Semper Lui yesterday. We had the family package where you share a 4 course dinner 2 by 2. It was super tasty, very special flavors and beautifully presented. It was accompanied by a delicious wine arrangement. For the BOB they had a separate wine arrangement so they could still taste it. The staff was super friendly and pleasant and the pace at which the courses were served was also very nice, no rush but a pleasant evening of filling dinner (we started at 7:00 PM and finished at 10:30 PM)

Delicious food, nice wines. Everything was tasteful, looked beautiful, nothing to complain about. Highly recommended. I think one of my favorites. Service was great. Nice girls, looked neat. Really worth repeating.

Very nice, cozy restaurant, great service and delicious food.

Exquisite! There were 8 of us and we had already chosen the family table in advance. The courses passed by at a relaxed pace, with most courses containing 2 different dishes. Nice diversity in flavors and dishes, accompanied by delicious wine. In short: highly recommended!

How wonderful it is to be surprised by the family table. Every dish is an experience, fantastic! It really was an evening of enjoyment, we will definitely come back
