I've ordered several times and been disappointed several times. The food itself isn't bad, but everything else about it is. Delivery often takes far too long, the (hot) dishes are cold, and worst of all, they don't even bother with the order comments. It's happened often enough that I've made a clear request to change the contents of a sushi roll, but it's completely ignored. I even once ordered a "maki mix" with a request to replace the cucumber maki with another crab maki (I'd called ahead and asked for it, and it was an option), and what I got was two cucumber maki and two salmon maki!? As if they did it on purpose... I simply can't imagine how it could go SO wrong. Time and time again, things go wrong, and requests are ignored. On the other hand, when I call, I always get a fairly friendly man on the phone, so I'm sorry to say, but my trust has completely vanished, so I'll never order from them again.

What a wonderful experience at Sensei Sushi! We had a delicious meal—everything was super fresh, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The flavors were fantastic and clearly made with care. Moreover, the customer service is truly top-notch. The staff is always proactive and always tries to find a solution, which creates a wonderfully pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. You really feel welcome here. In short: fantastic service, delicious food, and a top-notch team.

Disgraceful experience! I placed an order at Sensei Sushi for €43, and absolutely everything tasted wrong. The chicken was spoiled: it smelled awful and tasted completely wrong. Furthermore, the entire order was cold. It was absolutely inedible. After calling, they retrieved the entire order to "check." Then they called me back and told me I wouldn't get a refund or a new order, because they thought they "delivered a good product." In other words: you pay €43, get bad and cold food, and then end up empty-handed. This isn't customer service; this is fobbing off customers and not taking them seriously. It's incomprehensible that a restaurant handles complaints this way. Never again, for me.

I thought I was being clever and placed a pre-order at 6:29 PM to be exact, so I'd have it delivered at 7:50 PM, as I'd hoped. Unfortunately, I was living a fairy tale, because by 8:05 PM I still hadn't received anything, so I decided to call. They said it was "busy" and orders were still coming in, even though I'd already indicated I'd ordered well in advance. After checking where my order was, they told me it was being packed and sent with the delivery driver. Unfortunately, I still had to wait 30 minutes, and the food didn't arrive until 8:35 PM. And then it happened... just when you thought you were going to have a good meal, the chicken skewers and edamame were cold! Not even lukewarm, really cold... and the crispy chicken sushi fell apart! Don't call me about this again... yay!

We used to order sushi here often, but in the last six months, a lot has gone wrong. With a crab allergy, it often ended up in the box anyway. In the beginning, they'd politely call us to apologize. We were used to having to wait an hour, but the last time, after two and a half hours, it went wrong again. Strange, because we always order the same thing. They offered to make a new box, but if you order at 6:00 PM, you don't want to wait until 9:30 PM. I emailed them for a suitable solution. Unfortunately, I never heard back. The quality of the sushi has also deteriorated dramatically. The avocado was brown and tasteless. Such a shame. They've lost us as regular customers.

After waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes and calling repeatedly but no one answered finally got the sushi unfortunately the quality of the sushi was the same as the delivery time. Worthless judge for yourself about the appearance of the tuna and then I have not said anything about the taste in the photo you can also see that the avocado was rotten with brown streaks not edible! Everything tasted super fresh and well seasoned – you can tell that they really paid attention to it. Definitely one of the better sushi experiences I've had. Definitely worth repeating!

What you order is tasty and reasonably affordable. Sometimes the delivery does not go well. The first time everything arrived mixed up. They fixed that immediately by delivering again. And sometimes it arrives a little earlier or later than ordered. You can live with that too. All in all a good delivery restaurant.

Rate with 1 star because I CANNOT give 0 stars. Order placed for 80 euros, delivery time of 1 hour!! Finally unpacked the order: avocado is brown and tastes expired, fried chicken sushi and gyoza are cold, sushi doesn't look good (seems like it was just thrown in). Furthermore, very tasteless and only 2 bags of soya sauce for a large order. Called this company, got no apologies. Only inquiries were made and the chef indicated that the avocado cannot be brown. As if I can't judge/taste this myself. No solution has been offered. Very disappointed in this company as the quality was better in the past. We will never order from here again!! Ridiculous.

Update: I have now contacted Sensei Sushi and 40 of the 50 euros have been refunded; and a very neat solution. That is appreciated! Today we ordered at 6:04 PM for 7:30 PM and ultimately did not receive our order until 9:47 PM, without any communication about this. Unacceptable! At 7:45 PM I called to find out where the order was, it turned out that it wasn't even ready yet, but it would be ready within 15 to 20 minutes and would be taken for delivery. Apparently there had been a power outage, but why not call the customers if you know you're going to be late? Finally, at 8:31 PM I received a message that the order had been shipped. But the order had not yet arrived at 9:30 PM. Sensei Sushi was also no longer available by phone, which is nice. It is not okay to leave customers who have already paid hanging and then not answer anymore. Do you realize that the delivery person gets all the shit thrown at him and cannot do anything with it. By the time I had gone to the chip shop in a very grumpy mood and had eaten, my order arrived at 9:46 PM, which is 2 hours and fifteen minutes late. I had already paid for the order, but that is actually 50 euros down the drain, because I had already eaten. Moreover, the karaage was cold and the edamame was not included. The delivery person indicated that the costs had already been incurred for the food and delivery, so I did not dare to return the delivery for fear that I would not only lose my money and my evening, but also the food. Worst sushi ever. Ordered sushi on September 27. After 3.5 (!) hours and four calls, our order was delivered. We could have ordered a better breakfast by now. Once the hot dishes arrived they were cold and tough. Sushi tasted like it had been rotting in a corner for a while (duhh, 3.5 hours). They apparently cut back on wasabi, ginger and soy sauce because they were nowhere to be seen. After a few bites I threw the whole mess in the trash for fear of food poisoning. Called immediately and we would get our money back. It has now been a month, five phone calls and a lot of empty promises, but pay back? Whoa! Senseitionally bad service :) What a ball tent!

RIDICULOUS! I ordered at 6:35 PM and my sushi was not delivered even though I already paid. When I called 2 hours after ordering, they said it was just going out. I considered canceling but decided to go ahead with the order because I promised my 5-year-old son a sushi evening. It is now 9:45 PM and my sushi still hasn't arrived. I have already ordered a pizza. This was the last time I ever placed an order at sensei sushi culemborg. The phone is no longer answered, I hope I can get my money back because that's not how you treat your customers!!! Update: 3.5 hours later the delivery person came to the door with an incomplete order. I refused him at the door because I had already ordered pizza. In the Geldermalsen area you can certainly add at least half an hour to your delivery time, often more than that. They always call politely to let you know, but then tell you an expected delivery time that they never meet. !!DO NOT ORDER HERE!! I thought it would be great to order €40 worth of sushi for three people at 4:00 PM and have it delivered at 6:00 PM. Unfortunately things went wrong there and I didn't get my sushi until 6:20 PM. Now I'm in a hurry. Now I'm not the worst and I understand that this can happen. However, when I wanted to eat almost everything, I discovered that the extra soya sauce I requested was not included, no problem because you always get soya sauce as standard... You already expected it, no soya sauce at all, but also no wasabi sashimi. I would have been better off looking for fish in the sea as Aquaman himself. And to make it even more fun, the company also expects me to suck up all the sushi as if I were a vacuum cleaner or Kim Holland... There were chopsticks in sight. I thought this was a shame and decided to call. You are told that it is all out of stock and will be replenished. That will be a 25 minute wait... now my hot sushi is also getting cold. You can't make it up, but I ended up getting all those things much later, because the delivery person delivered them somewhere else... an old local resident comes to bring it to my house himself in this bad weather... this is not style and then there are only two small soya sauces for €40 worth of sushi. It's great that I still received it, but this is really not a service. If I ever dare to order here again, I will definitely not leave a tip again.

After I picked up sushi from Sensei Sushi, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the dishes. My absolute favorite was the Sake Salad Roll. The salmon was wonderfully fresh and the combination made every bite a real pleasure. The presentation of the sushi was also impressive, even after collection it continued to look beautiful. The service at pick-up was fast and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. All in all it was a delicious meal that I will definitely order again. Kudos to the team for delivering quality sushi that was perfect for our night in!

Ordered sushi here for the first time (picked up). I was completely satisfied. The portions were good and the sushi box was neatly filled with a lettuce leaf where there was still room left. What struck me most was the amount of different lemurs. Cheers for that. I thought the free roll that you normally pay 10 euros for was a real gift!! Personally, I didn't like the Andalouse sauce that much; a bit sour, which made the Crispy Chicken roll and the Ebi roll disappointing for me, but that is the only personal downside. All ingredients were clearly super fresh.

Normally I order from Yue for a long time, always satisfied! Once here for a change.... ordered at 5:17 PM on Tuesday. Received an email that the food would be delivered at 6:20 PM. An hour is a long time, but at least well informed about this, nice. At 6:30 PM an email that food is on its way. Called at 6:50 PM to find out where it was, it would be there in 5 minutes. But unfortunately it's not there yet... So I can't say anything about the food yet. Update: the sushi is tasty and the hot dish that was initially delivered cold/lukewarm was delivered hot with some extras!

The presentation of the sushi wasn't perfect but the taste and textures were! Proper Japanese kitchen and nice inter-cultural-cross-overs like maki with typical Dutch smoked eel. 1st class sushi! (tip: a little less rice might make closing the rolls easier... but who cares, it was delicious...!!!

Crispy betekening voor mij knapperig en niet direct gefrituurd. Jammer dat ik een box van 20 stuks gefrituurde sushi hebt gekregen. Edamame zat helemaal geen zout op, was een beetje smaakloos. De rest van de sushi krijgt 6/10 Bezorging duurde bijna 2 uur. Bezorgkosten boven €50 naar Leerdam mag duidelijker aangegeven worden. Als er toch bezorgkosten zijn kan je net zo goed voor een bestelling van boven de €50 2 bestellingen plaatsen, want dan heb je ook 2 keer een gratis rol. Je hebt namelijk boven de €25 een gratis rol. Dus dan heb je feitelijk voor €2 een hele rol erbij. Klopt niet echt in mijn mening. Ik vond het massa sushi ipv ambacht. Jammer.

Op advies van mijn zoon sushi besteld. De eerste keer was voortreffelijk. Zelfs mijn man die zegt geen sushi te lusten is om. Wij bestellen alleen de crunch. Afgelopen keer kregen wij de bestelling van een andere klant. Eerste reactie…..beetje jammer. Uiteindelijk hebben ze deze bestelling weer opgehaald en kregen wij later onze bestelling. Sensei vond dit heel erg voor ons en we kregen ter compensatie het hele bedrag terug gestort. Respect! De volgende keer bestellen we zeker weer want zo lekker heb ik ze nergens nog gegeten…. Ik bestel regelmatig sushi hier en word elke keer weer overtroffen door de smaken. Persoonlijk vind ik de sushi met garnalen het lekkerst, maar de rest is ook zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! Bezorging: altijd een tijdsindicatie die aangeeft wanneer het komt, ze staan ruim van te voren al aan de deur! Super en snelle service! ☺️

Vorige week sushi besteld. We kregen netjes per mail een geschatte tijd door. Tafel gedekt en wachten maar. Kwam tot onze blijdschap zelfs iets eerder. Bij het uitpakken bleek helaas de Yakitori te ontbreken, met een belletje werd de bezorger direct weer op pad gestuurd en werd het met 10min nageleverd. Een foutje maken kan altijd, maar top service dat het zo snel werd opgelost.

Voor afhaal of bezorgsushi is dit een zeer goed restaurant. Klantvriendelijk als hun eigen pinautomaat even niet werkt. Soms duurt de bezorging wat lang, dat is dan het nadeel van succes.

Vandaag mijn 2e keer bestellen bij deze zaak. Het eten was weer goed en bevalt mij dus ook echt wel. Alleen de bezorg tijd vind ik wat minder. Ik had om 18.19 mijn bestelling geplaatst, de verwachting die werd doorgegeven was een uur later om 19.20. Echter had ik rond 19.50 mijn bestelling pas gekregen terwijl ik om 19.08 bericht kreeg dat mijn bestelling onderweg was. Van Culemborg naar Leerdam is bij mijn weten geen 40 minuten rijden, maar een ruime 20 minuten. Vorige keer had ik via thuisbezorgd besteld en toen waren ze wel redelijk optijd en kon je ook volgen waar je bestelling bleef. Nu via Sensei Sushi zelf was het maar afwachten. Om 5 minuten later ga ik niet moeilijk doen, maar een half uur later vind ik toch wel erg jammer. Daarom ook geen 5 sterren, maar 4. Wel krijg je een gratis sushirol als je voor minimaal 25 euro besteld hebt bij Sensei Sushi zelf i.p.v. bij thuisbezorgd. Dat is dan weer wel goede service.

We've ordered here quite often, but the last few times have been a lot worse. (Unfortunately), the gyros used to be really good. We waited over an hour and a half for salty chicken. We ordered over €50 and didn't even get a cup of sauce. We wanted to order gyros from (gyros)city, but I think they were out of (gyros) because the menu only showed chicken gyros. Sadly, it was our last time.

I'm never going back here. I spontaneously went in for a bami special menu, and what did I get? A bowl of bami with a chicken leg and a bowl of peanut sauce with two satays. A tiny piece of chewy, stale prawn crackers, and no vegetables. And €0.30 for a plastic bag. I spent over €16 on this awful menu. They'll never see me back, that's for sure.
