As a regular customer every Monday (sometimes more often.🤭), I wanted to write a review. I thoroughly enjoy it every time. Always up for a chat. My go-to is the Dirty Chai Latte. That way, you'll know who I am. On my down days, it's even more of a warm blanket. I feel welcome, and everything is so delicious. Thank you for making me feel so welcome every week. And for always cheering me up on my gloomy days... Sijl, the staff, and the coffees, etc., are sometimes even better than therapy!! You're fantastic, and I'll keep coming back every week. This is the worst Affogato ever. I expected matcha to taste more but this was overpowered by the vanilla ice cream. Te place was busy with others for coffee. Guess I had a wrong pick

Nice coffee shop with potential, but attention to consistency is desirable This modern and attractive coffee shop is a nice place to relax. The coffee is of good quality, professionally prepared and the taste - although of course personal - is really tasty. The handmade chocolates are also a nice addition and provide a luxurious feeling. What struck us on this visit was the milk foam with the cappuccino and flat white. Unfortunately that was disappointing. Instead of the silky, 'silky smooth' foam that you expect from a well-brewed coffee, the foam was too airy and somewhat coarse in structure. (Not clearly visible in the photo) A shame, because that detracts from the overall experience. On a previous visit - when the owner prepared the coffee himself - this was perfectly fine. We will definitely come back for another chance, but would recommend properly training the staff for consistent quality. After all, good coffee is not just about the beans, but also about the finesse of the preparation.

Best coffee shop in the Netherlands as far as I'm concerned. Their coffee is always perfect, but the chocolates and cake or snack that you can choose is always super fresh and very tasty, as if it came straight from the oven. Very consistent in quality and service.

Today I enjoyed a delicious and perfect iced latte, highly recommended. Surprising taste, so much better than the 'standard'. Owner is super customer friendly and the business has a relaxed atmosphere. I'll be back soon.

Really delicious cappuccino, the best in Assen!! For a decent price. They also have a wide range of chocolates that you can enjoy with coffee. There is plenty of seating and cushions. Staff is friendly :) I will definitely come back!

It's really cool that there is a bar for delicious specialty coffee in Assen. Update 01/12/24: the new location is great and the coffee is still great. The owner is very friendly and I am happy to come here almost every week.

It's very inconvenient that you have to ask what they mean for each item on the menu. Just put that there and I'll know which one to choose. Coffee okay, nothing special. 3 men are gaping at you as you walk to the toilet. No, this is too Junior and clumsy for me.

I used the coffee trip app to find fine coffee in Drenthe, and this popped up. I normally prefer a less austere setting, but it was quite comfortable and the staff are friendly. Everything felt good. I got a pour over (hand brew) and it was awesome. They also have what appear to be delicious bon bons, but I didn’t try them. They looked super fancy, though. The bottom line is that if I lived in town I’d be a regular. They would know my name and not have to ask what I want when I walked through the door, and I would probably send them a Xmas card every December.

I am here for the first time with my brother. We asked Jibbe to surprise us. First round we got an ice filter coffee, which was very refreshing. Second rounds we got 2 espressos, one was fruity and the other was heavier. The chosen chocolate went well with it. Finally we drank a lemonade. Definitely recommended if you are a real coffee lover.

Unfortunately no gluten-free viennoiserie, but a wide choice of delicious chocolates, which can also be taken home in stylish gift packaging. Extensive coffee menu with several specialty coffee types, including handbrew, siphon and excellent decaf. There are also options for non-coffee drinkers, of which the Moj soft drink from Groningen deserves a special mention. Beautiful spacious and bright interior, neat toilets, seating outside.

I came here recently to buy a gift for an acquaintance who likes coffee quite a bit. The owner helped me very well in making a choice and seemed very knowledgeable.

I went here for a drink with a friend of mine. We are thrilled that it is open, and the employees were very nice. We did have some criticisms. We were both quite surprised at how small the portion size of the drinks we ordered were. While we did pay a lot. On the other hand, as far as I know, it is the only place in Assen that sells matcha lattes at all. And because of the high quality, I understand the costs, I just would have preferred to know in advance what the quantity would have been. Furthermore, we found the interior not very inviting and somewhat uncomfortable. Because the interior is somewhat bare, the acoustics are very loud/reverberant. Especially when other customers are having a conversation. For all these reasons together, we finally went for a drink somewhere else.

The Chai latte was beautifully done, a d delicious. Sugar free bonbons are on the menu, as well as many other choices.

The chai latte was delicious, the foam layer was also perfect, they had cocoa powder on the chai latte for decoration, it is/was very beautiful, but if you can think of something else for art on top of it, that's even better, barista to barista. But the barista/service that was present today was very hospitable and we had a nice conversation about the coffees (that everyone does it differently), and not expensive either, so definitely recommended, And this barista/service wanted to explain to me and everyone else what coffee is in, how, what is in it and so on. Have fun there.

Went in for a hot chocolate with whipped cream, the service was quick and friendly! Chocolate milk was delicious and I saw some interesting things in the oven, so I'll definitely be back for that soon.

Recently we spent a weekend in Drenthe, on the second day we were in Assen and were looking for a coffee bar. Since I have had an espresso bar in Bergen op Zoom for years, I am quite critical. we ended up in a department store at Sijl coffee bar. Received a perfect cappuccino and a very tasty V60 filter coffee. If you are really looking for a good independent espresso bar, we can recommend it

Went to Assen this week and came across this great coffee shop! After the owner's recommendation, we chose the three-course tasting. We didn't know that coffee could be so different in taste. Definitely recommended to learn more about coffee or just have a cup of coffee!

Slow coffee, prepared with such patience that it remains delicious even when cooled, espressos and my favorite flat white. Every experience was unique, but that is what makes drinking coffee here so special. Another must-see: the dot's art hanging on the wall.
