Smart Meal in Binnenstad

A deeply distressing and unpleasant experience in this shop. The owner is extremely rude and intolerant, speaking in an abusive way and throwing people out of his shop. The shop does NOT offer the full range of services they claim to offer, and they have not informed the delivery services of these, so you get sent there incorrectly and then the man shouts at you. The shop stinks like rotten food, with packages scattered everywhere. Delivery companies should terminate their relationship with this deeply unpleasant and dishonest individual.

The package is not at the collection point and there is also a grumpy man who works there

0 stars if it were possible. I've had problems with "no package" more often than not. Last time, luckily there was a woman working there. I gave her my phone, and she scanned and found it in a second. I advise people to have it delivered elsewhere. This is rubbish.

I came here for the first time for a parcel via DPD. I show the seller the tracking number, he says that I need a QR code, find it later and come back. After I spent 10 minutes looking for a QR code and he was rude to me, the girl heard our conversation and said that DPD does not have a QR code, only a tracking number. And only after that he silently gave me my parcel.

Very bad experience with this pickup and delivery point. Google says this location opens at 8:30 AM. Yesterday, I arrived one minute before 10:00 AM, but was told they wouldn't open until 10:00 AM. So, this morning I arrived promptly at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately, the man was still straightening cans and bottles in the refrigerator. When I told him it was already 10:00 AM, I was told he couldn't help me because the equipment wasn't turned on yet. And as if that wasn't enough, he said, "I can open whenever I want. I can even open at 11:00 AM." Absolutely no customer service. A very unpleasant attitude and a particularly grumpy approach. I advise everyone against having packages delivered or picked up here. Fortunately, there are plenty of other pickup points with customer-friendly service. This location simply does not deserve to be chosen for parcel services.

I had to accompany my son to pick up two packages! The owner claimed I didn't have access to his store. Arguing! They call themselves a service point, but don't have your package delivered there! There are actually good service points in Leeuwarden where you're treated like a customer!

This shop has been my nightmare every time I go and take my package, the man/owner makes me feel bad and dumb because I ask for help, he doesn’t speak a good English so sometimes he even makes some joke in Dutch, this is my second time that he really makes me feel so bad and I know I get it a lot of people come and go but that’s your job to help your costumers not to makes jokes about them,and I if they ask you something nicely at least try to help and no just ignore,we all have or good and bad days, but at work nobody cares about it, I hope he sees this and reflects because..

If I could give zero stars, I would. What an incredibly bad experience. I went to this store three times to pick up my two DHL packages. The first two times I was told that they were not there. Today, on the last day that I could pick them up, I went again with the two pick-up codes. The employee only picked up one, refused to even enter the second code and indicated that the package was not there without making any effort to look. When I indicated that I was fed up with this, because this keeps happening, I was addressed in a particularly rude manner. The store is messy and it seems as if he himself does not know what to look for. When I wanted to look myself to see if the package was perhaps just lying around somewhere, I was literally sent out of the store. I was told several times in a blunt tone that I was no longer welcome and that I should choose another parcel point. There were customers in the store who also found it embarrassing and even started laughing. The employee then also reacted aggressively to one of the customers who had to laugh. A very unprofessional, customer unfriendly and uncomfortable situation. So I did not receive my package. Not because it was not there, but because this employee refuses to provide service. If I had the choice, this would be the last place on earth where I would have my package delivered.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible man. Rude, arrogant and always makes dirty jokes to me or my girlfriends. I have been here 10 times and does not change even if you speak to him about it. You always have to look for your package yourself among 100 packages spread over the floor because he has nothing in order. Really horrible man, if you can have your package delivered somewhere else I would do that. Incomprehensible that DHL accepts that this is in a collection point. Really 0 stars for him.

I have been working with Vinted for a few months now. Apparently there are 2 gentlemen working in this business. I only ever see one and he is always friendly and helpful to me. Pick up the package, if he has time he will search with me. Sending a package is no problem. I now come there every week.

Very bad service. Rude and uncooperative. Blames fault on fault etc While there is no fault, according to mail order company. No QR code but an email from the mail order company, the gentleman eventually gives the package with a lot of complaining. While there is clearly an explanation in the email. (Finally my package after 3 days) Never have your package delivered here.

I have had a bad experience with this case several times. Employee refuses to help and is downright rude. My son recently tried to pick up a package (because I don't want to go there anymore) but he was also treated very unpleasantly, he had to look for the package himself and when that didn't work he was not helped and was sent away. I have also been to a closed door several times during opening hours. Unfortunately, I cannot indicate to UPS and DHL that I no longer want my packages delivered here.

What a terrible company. Not even worth 1 star 😡! This man is extremely unfriendly and offers no help. He is a scammer and puts everything in the hands of the customer. You can search for your package yourself and if you cannot find the package, it is not his problem but yours. What a disgusting guy you are, shame on you! I hope you lose your job and never make money again.

Bad service. Complaining about a code when I came to pick up my package. Normally when I pick up a package from the service point I have to show my ID and indicate my name and address.

The first time the man was quite tough. When it's busy you have to look for your package yourself and if you don't find it the man acts like you're retarded. I won't come here again!

1 star is too much. Any logic is missing at this package point. He can't find the package and then starts yelling as if it's my fault. Don't have anything delivered there anymore. Oh yes, and others who have forgotten their ID will simply receive a package…. How? Then it is logical that packages are missing

Hassle with barcodes from Zalando, where the code did not work. This friendly man helped me so that I could still return my package with DHL, even though this was not his responsibility, but Zalando's. Thank you!

Excellent parcel point. It took some time to get used to the owner, but I have now been coming there for a long time and he is very friendly. You can search for your packages yourself and sometimes they will help you search. He is patient when I can't find my code again 😂

A friendly gentleman who often knows where to find my package right away. Which is very nice because there are several providers and therefore many packages available.

Smart Meal in Leeuwarden is my regular place to pick up packages, and I can be found there every week. It is a parcel point with several suppliers, the gentleman who works there is friendly and even lets me pick out my parcels from the cupboard myself, which I find very easy. The service is fast and efficient.

Top! Been coming here for years; owner is always cheerful and friendly, with a lot of humor. Many different providers make it a very convenient place.

What a terribly nasty and pathetic man. He gets very angry because he says I need an 8 digit code. Which is not the case, because his system is outdated. During my visit to this parcel point, I called DHL Express customer service and they said that the code is no longer needed and that I can receive the package after showing my ID. If you ever need to pick up a package here, I recommend that you do everything you can to have that package delivered elsewhere. I wouldn't wish an interaction with this man on anyone. I will never come back here again!

Once you understand the instructions for the package system and the owner, you'll be fine. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but you can solve a lot with humor. If you come there more often, he will neatly put your parcels together. It goes smoothly if you have the shipping labels and/or collection codes at hand in advance.

I have been delivering and collecting my packages there for years. Owners are very friendly and I like that I can look for my package myself. Often because they know my name, they already prepare the package for me. In short: excellent service and friendly staff.

Great package point, once you realize how the owner has it all, you can simply find your package. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but like all the other reviews, I haven't had him get angry or be rude, and I come here almost every week. The packages are in different racks with the sender on them and your package is in between. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to find because there are many packages, but sometimes you have to take the time to look where it is. In principle, you don't have to put anything aside because he often puts multiple packages from the same person together. I also send my Vinted packages here and DHL returns and that always goes well.

This is my favourite parcel point. It accepts packages from almost all carriers. The owner and his family are always friendly and helpful. Yes, if you want a super organised shop where the packages are sorted in alphabetical order, this is not the place for you but if you chill out a bit you'll see that everybody is doing the best they can with the limited space they have. I've seen the owner getting some rude and impatient customers in his store. Don't forget, it's often the carriers that don't provide accurate information. No need to take it out on the owner(s). Rather than getting frustrated, how about taking a deep breath and be nice. You'll see that you'll attract more flies with honey ;)

Came here to pick up my package. My colleague had been there before and was not given it and did not want to return because the man was very rude. I went there to pick him up and he immediately acted very angry. He also angrily spoke to an older woman who almost did not dare to enter the store. All the packages are dented everywhere and it smells really bad. Ultimately I had to go look for my package because the guy was angry with me because I didn't have a 5-digit code. I also had my ID and other codes at hand. Very bad experience here. Makes people ridiculous and a very strange atmosphere. In short, this store should be closed...

Very bad experience when I arrived here, waiting for 20 minutes to pick up my package, in a store where all the packages are on the floor and dented, sweets that are super hard and received very customer unfriendly, I had all the proof of my package and the man who is not good at the Dutch language, only talked about a 5 digit code, eventually I used the app and there was no 5 digit code available, so I did not get my package, in the end a colleague had a lot of trouble and pain can get the package, boycott that trade

Smartmeal.... well I wouldn't consider it smart of anyone to go there. Not only does he take packages that aren't even allocated to him (which has happened to me a lot), he is absolutely utterly rude and unhelpful and speaks to you as if you're filth. It's the worst place in all of Leeuwarden. If I could give him -5 stars I would because he definitely doesn't even deserve 1 star!

Had a hassle with him a year ago, sent me away without my package because I said something about him and his stupid store.... so his only solution was to give a "shopping ban"... FINE, I certainly don't want to go there either more! Anyway, my husband (for himself) had a package delivered there. Today my husband went to pick it up... my husband is still allowed to look for his package himself among countless packages in a messy, unorganized store, my husband finds his package without contents.... my husband wants to quickly check whether it is not there. Messy packages are lying around, the gentleman (owner?) goes crazy, he doesn't know anything and we have to find out for ourselves how and what, and he also sends my husband from his store... please tell me what is this, certainly not customer friendly! A really crappy store, a little more friendly and helpful isn't much to ask, right?! 1 star is too many, we think it should be a big 0!

This shop is not organised well. As soon as you enter, in addition to the not pleasant smell, you just see these tons of packages all over. You have to find your own package and sometimes it's not even there and you have to come back multiple times ( even if the email says it's delivered to the pick-up shop). The owner/man doesn't speak English so it makes communication even harder.

According to the DHL app, my package had already been picked up. Not by me anyway and I am the only one with the tracking code and the 'not at home' message. Went to Smart Meal, my name/zip code/address/tracking code was not known. I just had to contact DHL. DHL referred me to the shipper. The sender referred me back to DHL. Received a screenshot via contacts at PostNL/DHL that my package had been signed for (?). This could actually only have been done by Smart Meal because no one else has my tracking code or collection message. Went to Smart Meal again and suddenly my package was there! My name was suddenly known too. The package was opened and then repacked with brown tape (I know from a screenshot of my doorbell that the package was completely white). The content was probably not interesting anyway... A complaint has now been filed with DHL.

Super friendly owner, always helpful. I read a lot of negative reactions, often there is misunderstanding from customers for the mistakes of the shipping services. It's a shame that this is sometimes taken out on the owner of a parcel point.

I am a very kind and patient person so I have given this owner several chances to prove me wrong when I’m thinking I shouldn’t go there again. First he flirted with me (which made me really uncomfortable), now he’s just he insulting me. He makes rude comments like “you are too stupid to find a package!” and is then laughing about it as if it was a joke. Every time I go there it’s stressing me out because this man seems to hate his job and his clients. This was the last time I went there. Considering all the other stories it doesn’t seem to be a me-problem. This man needs some therapy and a change of carrier if you ask me. :/

Nice store, it is almost a kind of museum. Contrary to some unkind reviews, the gentleman is always friendly to me. And yes... you can look for your own package. But you'll know that when you ship here! So all in all, highly recommended for sending and receiving packages!

I sent my 15 year old daughter into this store while I waited in the car (there was no parking, and the package was very heavy). He screamed at her for not managing to close the (broken) door. He pointed to where to search for her package, and when it wasn't there he told her she had the wrong store. I then went into the store and easily found the package where there was a messy pile of packages deeper into the shop. While I was there he yelled at two other customers, and made disparaging remarks about Dutch people. His store smells of old smoke and general uncleanliness. I have no idea how this guy got contracts with 5 shipping companies, or how he manages to keep his contracts. I am not in general that demanding, and all is well that ends well (I have my package)...but it was easily the weirdest and most unpleasant interaction I have had since moving to The Netherlands a year ago.

Prima winkel voor pakketjes! Je moet je eigen pakketje vinden alles ligt bij bij een pakketdienst vaak zijn de pakketjes makkelijk te vinden je hoeft alleen je id te laten zien en het is zo geregeld!
