Whenever we're in the area, we always love stopping here 🫶 We've known Wimpie forever, back when it was just a food truck and not a restaurant. Delicious fries, fish, and schnitzel meals... Or just a quick snack... Tasty food and a beautiful view of the Grevelingenmeer.

Delicious as always! And even though it was very busy, everyone was friendly.

Good food simply served in a very beautiful place.

The food was good and the service friendly. The outdoor area is very nice in good weather, but we didn't like the indoor area. The restrooms were very clean.

The best chip shop, whether at Landal, Roompot, a restaurant, a beach bar, or whatever, even 30 years ago when they were still selling from a blue bus, this was the best place for fish, chips, and everything else that gets fried. That's the Netherlands. And on top of that, absolutely fair and affordable prices, with generous portions.

Lovely place, HAD DAMN GOOD EATING, only there was some weirdo standing there who thought he was really funny blaring a bit weirdly through a handheld.

Unfortunately, we were not pleased. On Friday, we ate the gyros, which were fried way too hard, accompanied by satay that simply wasn't cooked through properly. It happens once in a while. To give it a second chance, we got something simpler to take out today: fries and hamburgers. I can safely say that this is the absolute worst burger I have ever eaten; the prices aren't cheap, so one should be able to expect something better. The hamburgers were black on the outside and raw on the inside. A nasty, half-raw fried egg on top and a ridiculous amount of sauce, in my opinion just to camouflage things here and there. It is a beautiful location, but we will return for an ice cream at most.

A great spot in Kamperland! Admittedly, the prices are a bit above average for a snack bar, but this is more than compensated for by the speed of service, the quality of the food, and especially the absolutely magnificent view. I highly recommend it!

Tasty food, large portions and good flavors, beautiful view, and visited during lunch on a warm day and sat outside on the picnic benches. We will try the conservatory again later. This time it was popular for takeout. The atmosphere was relaxed but difficult to judge because the conservatory and inside were empty.

We arrived to surf at Schotsman, and as far as we knew, there used to be showers here. So I went to ask the friendly female employee at this restaurant if there were any showers available anywhere around the lake. She told me I could feel free to use the shower next to the restaurant. Not even a second later, an incredibly unfriendly (male) colleague came over and loudly told me to get out of here because this was private. Everyone heard this, and even a family that had planned to eat something here walked away. Understandable, because with service like that, I wouldn't be coming here either. Incredibly rude to shout like that!! If you had said this to me politely from a meter away instead of shouting from 5 meters away, I would have politely said thank you and left. Hopefully you will find a job somewhere else that suits you, sir. Maybe as the front lead of a metal band?

We've been coming here for over 20 years, and unfortunately, the friendliness has somehow diminished. It's a real shame. The food tastes good, but there are now some good alternatives in the area!

Had a great meal! The fries were nice and crispy and the snacks were good. The location is nice and it's a cozy place to sit. The prices are a bit on the high side for a chip shop, but the quality is good and the pleasant atmosphere makes up for a lot. All in all, a great place to grab some fries. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

A unique spot. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to stay overnight in the Netherlands. Camping, even for one night, is strictly forbidden!

At first, the price seemed quite expensive considering you have to pick it up yourself. But expectations were exceeded! The satay menu came with a fried egg, the fries and salad were delicious, and there were 3 sauces included. Nice spot by the water. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is self-service. The location right on the water is unbeatable. For the location, the price was reasonable. The food was excellent. The schnitzel is highly recommended. Short wait times between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., quieter before and after those hours.

A beautifully situated snack bar; everything is perfect, from the staff to the food. The outdoor seating is lovely, and you can enjoy the sunset. The food is excellent, plentiful, and reasonably priced. We ate there four evenings and were delighted every time. While the decor is simple, it's still very comfortable. 🫶🏽

Beautiful location, friendly people, good service, and tasty food. Among other things, we had a small apple tart with whipped cream, which was cold after taking just one bite, even though I had ordered a warm apple pastry. I went back and received a completely new one, but warm. This was despite the fact that they could have simply heated up the same one. The rest of what we ate was also delicious.

It's good, nothing spectacular, but the view is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were there with a group; the schnitzel was just average. The burgers and fish were excellent.

A Veersemeer institution since the early 90s. Formerly a mobile food truck, now a permanent location with plenty of seating and a great view of the water through the glass front. The food is very good, and the service is friendly. Quite crowded over the Easter weekend with a long wait. Always a pleasure.

With one of the best snack bars on the Zeeland coast. Everything is getting more expensive, but there's still plenty of choice with reasonable portions. The fried fish is recommended.

Great sea views with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is delicious 😋, and prices are still reasonable. It's self-service, but it's quick. You'll get a pager and you can pick up your food. Parking is available, and it's even free. 👍

Nice chip shop, right on the water

From a small food truck, where I loved eating fish as a child, to a cozy restaurant. The glass-fronted porch is very comfortable and offers a great view of the hustle and bustle of the Verse Sea. In good weather, you can also sit outside.

Great location, nice people. 1x Friet Oorloog, 1x Friet met Stoofvlees: €15.10. The fries were quite tasty, but could have been a bit bigger. The portion of Stoofvlees was just a spoonful, but it was okay. In my experience as a Friet fan, it could be much better. That you have to pay extra for the great location is perhaps to be expected.

Wat een vreselijke ballentent!. 5 euro voor een klein bakje patat speciaal. En je ziet dat zeeland achtergebleven gebied is. Overal in dr randstad waar je vraagt om friet met een saus krijg je de saus apart in zo.n klein bakje wat eraan vast zit. Schandalig. Maar ja als je alle tokkies ziet die daar komen eten snap ik t wel.

Top location, with all the Dutch specialties: Frit special, Lange Lummel, Bitterballen, Bamihap, Kipcorn, superb quality with a great atmosphere and a view of the Veersemeer. Not cheap, but worth the money. Unfortunately, it's self-service, and sometimes there are long waits.

Our favorite stall at Lake Veerse – for over 20 years! Wimpie at Lake Veerse has been a regular stop for us for over two decades. Even back when it was just a small van, we loved coming here – today, the stall has developed into a truly beautiful location with a great outdoor area and a glass-enclosed terrace, so you can sit comfortably even in bad weather. The location right on the water is simply unbeatable. Here you can sit and relax, enjoy the view, and treat yourself to a portion of truly delicious food. The fries and snacks are always fresh and taste excellent! The staff is also always friendly and cheerful, which further underlines the relaxed atmosphere. One small downside is the now quite high prices, especially considering that it's still self-service. Nevertheless, we enjoy coming back every year – for us, one or two visits to Wimpie are simply a must for every holiday at Lake Veerse.

The food is highly recommended. I've rarely eaten anything as good as this. The staff are always friendly and patient.

We have been coming surfing once or twice a year for over 35 years. It was always tradition to eat the first fried fish at Wimpie on the day of arrival. It has become quite expensive and unfortunately the taste is no longer as good as it used to be. Then it's better to go to a restaurant. The price is the same.
