Great snack bar...but you can't even order by phone? How bizarre. Do you have to wait there for your food? Of course, we won't do that. Only an 06 number that was turned off? Strange opening hours too.

The fries and the chicken satay are fine

Great snack bar, but the opening hours should be adjusted. I've already been at the door at 4:15 pm more than four times, even though the lights were still off and no one was there.

Couldn't be better! Delicious Vietnamese spring rolls and the fries are also pico bello. Neat establishment and exceptionally friendly ladies.

Today the fries were less, I think the same fries were fried twice, dry on the inside and greasy on the outside. Other times we had excellent fries, sometimes even better than before the takeover

The most delicious fries in Oegstgeest. Fresh cut potatoes, large portions, friendly staff. Often busy, but very rightly so. Tip: the chicken thigh satay.

Update Feb 2024: Nice meal! The family bag of fries was more than enough. Spring rolls and satay very tasty! Case looked neat!

Update 11-2023: Went back today after the response to this review. I was positively surprised! The place looked clean, fries were cooked well and the staff also worked hygienically. Keep it up Le! Then we will happily keep coming back! Since it was taken over, the quality, and especially the hygiene, has declined. Today's order contained onions that were spoiled. The fat from the chip shop is old and the staff works with loose hair, mobile phones in their hands and unsafe open navel sweaters. It's a shame because it was my favorite chip shop. I hope they do something with it soon.

(2023) Too bad, the quality has gone down since the business has a new owner. We threw away the entire bag of fries last time: it was one greasy, limp, sticky lump. We provided feedback and tried again today. For the last time: the fries are not well done and the snacks are overdone. Bah. ----------- This was the review 4 years ago (5 stars): Fries as they were meant to be; freshly cut, well fried. The love for their business radiates from the owners! Some new employees still seem to need some getting used to, but they will probably find their feet.

I always receive great help from the friendly staff. The fries are the best in the area and the snacks are also excellent. The satay chicken thigh and burgers are highly recommended!

We went for fries with a cone and had a special frikandel with it. The wait was very long. Finally we got our bag. Once unpacked at home, there was one full bag of fries, lukewarm and dry, dry, dry☹ the frikandel was cold and tough. We had high expectations for it, unfortunately. This was the first and last time.

There has been a lot of drama since the takeover. Quality is bad, hygiene is bad (the staff was licking their own fingers). Very long waiting time, even though there are quite a few staff. Chicken satay was raw. Satay croquette was limp and raw. Very unfortunate, it used to be a top tent. Unfortunately I will never come here again. :(

Too bad it deteriorated so quickly, fries were limp and bamiblok was bitter. You can smell old frying fat as soon as you enter. Hopefully she will do something about it.

Since the takeover, the quality of the fries and the staff have deteriorated significantly. They do not work hygienically and if you want to order something, a young person behind the counter says something if he doesn't hear you, right? Since it was taken over the quality has become poor. The staff, the girl was also very friendly, but the boy was always busy on his phone. Furthermore, the floor was dirty and the broom was in the shop near the tables. The fries were limp and the frikandel was fried far too long, dark brown. Too bad, it was a really wonderful chip shop, with nice staff and a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately nothing is left of it.

For the umpteenth time, you did not receive the entire order that you paid for!! Quality is really good, but after an incomplete order for the umpteenth time, this was really our last visit! ..... and you can't call there....

Recently, for my daughter's party, I had to pick up fries at 5:00 PM due to the party program. But the snack bar only opens at 5:00 PM. I explained the situation a day in advance and I was able to arrive at 4:50 PM. Fries were prepared for me right on time!! Also received nice cones to serve the fries in. Great service, friendly staff. The fries are always good, my daughters are huge fans of the chicken nuggets. Real chicken, not ground carcasses :-) The only downside is the limited opening hours. Otherwise I would definitely come there more often.

High quality fries and fried meat products. Very tasty. Just a small list of food items to choose from in comparison to other snack bars, but what they serve is very good. A visit here is very much advised.

Very tasty old-fashioned fries. In addition, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The employee who helped us was happy to explain a few things. The explanation for a sauce that we were not familiar with was given, you just have to taste it... After which she took a container and put a little sauce in it for us to test. Furthermore, it was neat and clean (even the toilets!!). Definitely recommended.

The first time I got a load of fries and snacks on a Sunday evening when family was visiting (their choice ;)). Then the fries were limp, greasy and tasteless. Almost impossible to eat without extra salt. I had actually written the thing off already, but we decided to at least give it another try to see if this is the standard or an exception. A little nervously, I shook the fries onto the plate. Perfectly golden brown and crispy, and well salted. This makes getting fries a party! When I read other reviews I fear that the quality may not be as consistent, but our confidence has been regained for now. I hope it's as good next time.

Until today, always good experiences with the Heeren van Katwijck, both in Katwijk and Oegstgeest. This time in Oegstgeest we came in to say good evening but nothing back from behind the counter. When our order was being prepared I heard someone say, are we coming out with the fries, to which the other person said I don't think so, so extra fries were made. When served, one fries turned out to be cold and the other hot. When leaving I was asked if everything had been to my liking, I then mentioned the cold fries. Her answer was I'm going to pay attention to it from now on, no sorry, or how annoying, nothing of the sort.

Such a snack bar where everything is good: tasty and high quality, nice to sit in and also friendly service. When we go to the beach we choose Katwijk because we can eat fries here.
