We had a wonderful meal here. The beef stew and pulled pork are highly recommended. The staff is very friendly. If I'm ever in the area again, I want to try the apple pie croquette because I can't really imagine it, but it sounds delicious.

Upscale snack bar with indoor seating and a lovely terrace where the fries are served on plates. (Just watch out for the seagulls!) We had the artisan fries. They were tasty but the fries were way too brown. We managed to fill almost half a plate with three servings.

Top service! We were with a group at a cozy oval table. Good food and the service was so friendly, correct and pleasant. Will go back soon

Tasty snacks and super tasty sandwiches! Friendly staff! The old cheese croquettes are a must! Will definitely come here more often.

We are Amsterdammers and beach people. Nowadays you have to queue to spend money on food on the beach and that is a bridge too far for us. We then drive to Snackbistro De Toren in the village (we call everything outside Amsterdam a village for convenience) where you can park for free and eat super tasty for a normal price. The service is super friendly. Really recommended after a day at the beach in Castricum

Had a delicious meal with the family! The homemade croquettes and stew are especially recommended. Of course we finished with the apple pie croquette. We will definitely come back here.

I come here from Heerhugowaard especially for the apple pie croquette, very tasty and the fries are also good, I would go again and recommend it to everyone

Unfortunately today we had a bad experience with a double order/payment. I found the way they responded to this quite unfriendly and rude. This was the last time we ordered here.

The Toren snack bistro in Castricum where you can get the most delicious homemade croquettes in many varieties, but the bamibal is also highly recommended. Of course there are also many other delicacies and the opportunity to sit at the table and enjoy a very neat restaurant worthy affair. There is also a large terrace outside when the weather is nice. And croquette day every Thursday, at competitive prices.

Snack bistro de Toren is highly recommended! Upon entering we were immediately warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. It was handy that we had made a reservation in advance, because it was so busy! What immediately struck us was the beautiful, separate seating area: attractive and of restaurant quality, which you would not immediately expect at a snack bistro. We were helped all evening by a super friendly and sweet woman. We ordered the hare satay and the steak with artisanal fries, and both dishes were delicious. The meat was perfectly prepared and the taste was fantastic. The fries had a delicious, crispy bite and you could really taste that everything was homemade with care and love. To finish we had the chocolate fantasy for dessert, and this was truly a treat! We left with (too) full bellies. Snack bistro de Toren knows how to spoil their guests with top quality food and a nice ambiance. We will definitely come back here!

Separate seating area, much better than the average snack bar. Coffee was good, not exceptional.

Ordered a chicken satay dish today. Satay and fries were very cold. Shame. I paid more than €18. Although things usually go well, this was a miss...

A typical snack bar that is a surprisingly good lunch option. Many snacks are still made in-house here and you can taste that. The croquettes are one of the specialties and I definitely recommend them.

Ordered here again as an exception. For the 2nd time in a row, I think we got leftovers from the chip shop here. See photo for the container with only small pieces and a very meager amount (no photo). The taste is fine, but this quantity and only small pieces should not be sold like this.

I would like to express my disappointment with my recent order. The burger's bread tasted old and dry, and the fries were limp. We had also ordered three snacks (croquette and cheese soufflé), but these were all thrown into the same paper bag. Seriously, is it that much of a hassle to just use snack containers like all the other snack bars do? To our surprise, the snacks were all squashed, as if something heavy had been resting on them. What is this?? I immediately lost my appetite. It was my birthday and my husband wanted to treat me to something delicious, but it turned out to be the worst dinner ever, and pricey too! In addition, my husband did not receive an order confirmation by email, and when we tried to call, customer service was not available. In the past, when you were still in Torenstraat, you were the best snack bar in the area. But now it has become very different. This is the third time this year that we have ordered from you and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I hope you do something about this, because it was a waste of money.

Just picked up my order and was almost hit by a van from deToren while crossing the zebra crossing. He had to swerve quite a bit and just missed hitting me.

Very pathetic little citizen. If you ordered bacon burgers (€ 6.50), there would be 1 slice of bacon and a little sauce, no onions, no lettuce, no tomatoes, four bites.

First, other staff must indicate to the lady behind the counter that customers are waiting. Then you will be helped with a long face. If you sit and wait on the terrace, they will have forgotten you. You will immediately receive your fries with a long face. The fries were already ready in a warming container. When you sit back on the terrace, the fries from the container are already cold. And then look at you strangely when you walk away angry. What a disgrace

Vegetarians/Vegans Beware. Toren uses half animal fat/half vegetable fat for frying (confirmed by an employee). The veggie and vegan options clearly signed on the menu aren't veggie or vegan if they are fried.

Ridiculous restaurant! 2 years ago they were very rude via email to my partner: 'Gert-Jan Bert van den Appelboom'. Very derogatory, while Gert-Jan just wanted to come and work here! Then they said that Gert earned more at the Albert Heijn at the tower! A ridiculous salary! I will never come here again!

This was a great snack bar in Torenstraat. But now: the fries are really tragically bad. This was the second time in 2 months. Both times I found myself eating the fries against my will. Impossibly bad. And no, I do not buy the "artisan" version as an alternative. That indicates that they don't really like the "normal" version itself. The croquette was good. The frikadel very mediocre. Do something with it. Learn from it.

Saturday May 11, 2024 ordered luxury snacks for our guests via catering: Great!!!

They have special croquettes here. We ordered the apple pie croquette, which was really delicious. But the old cheese and satay croquettes were also delicious. We actually asked for an orange tompoes (because of King's Day) out of jest, but she did serve it. They were also delicious and really came from a bakery. Nice place, super friendly and pleasant employees, if we are in the area we will definitely come back here. And highly recommended.

Until some time ago I got delicious hamburgers, snacks and fries. This time we ordered a hamburger plate for €11 per person and ate it on the spot. A very sparsely filled/dressed sandwich, fries and a bowl of -albeit fresh- raw vegetables, which were not allowed to bear the name 'salad'. Including 1 drink together you spend €30. Discovered at home that sauce was included with the fries, but we were not asked about it. Discovered on the menu that all kinds of options are being worked on. Unfortunately not worth the money anymore.

Staff has learned from the owner, so to speak. The last time I was here I indicated that I would use the toilet first before ordering. I stated this politely and asked, when I returned from the toilet the staff started shouting loudly at me and gave me a very loud mouth. I left the order as it was, I will never come here again.

Rude owner. Was shouting loudly at his staff in front of customers. And it wasn't necessary at all, that boy certainly didn't deserve it.

Service is not always friendly, especially if you take away (I understand when it is very busy), but in terms of food, it is easily the best snack bar (or bistro) in the region

Duidelijk een plek met ambachtelijke Frituur cultuur. De seizoen kroket en de appeltaart kroket waren erg lekker. De friet was ook goed.

Patatje stoofvlees was echt heel goed! Dat is niet vaak zo. Gezellig zitten, snel bediend en geen probleem om bestelling aan te passen.

Een hele fijne zaak. Ik heb er eten besteld voor mij en mijn kleinzoon. De bezorging duurde naar mijn gevoel nog geen 5 minuten. Ik had bestelling door gegeven en heb toen mijn geld gepakt en klaar gelegd ben naar mijn rustplek toe gegaan en zei tegen mijn kleinzoon dat het eten waarschijnlijk al onderweg was. Wat schetst mijn verbazing dat toen de voordeur bel ging. Ik woon op een flat 7 hoog. Zo snel bezorgd! Het eten was goed warm en heel erg smakelijk. Het is echt aan te bevelen om hier een maaltijd te bestellen. Je krijgt echt waar voor je geld!

Mooie inrichting en aardig personeel en uitgebreide keuken. Het is meer dan een doorsnee cafetaria.

Alles wat je hier besteld is uit eigen keuken. Prima.

Mijn vriend en ik komen hier altijd met veel plezier! Leuke tent met lekker eten! Gezellig en leuk personeel. Er bestaat geen betere snackbar als deze en alles is vers of zelf gemaakt

Geweldige snackbistro met goede gerechten. Super bezorg service ook. Allemaal nette en aardige bezorgers.

Kroketten op donderdag halve prijs. Deze zijn zelfgemaakt en heerlijk.

Het eten is echt heerlijk, maar de service is de laatste tijd niet echt goed. Nu al behoorlijk wat keren gehad dat er dingen ontbraken van de bestelling. Het is jammer om telkens te moeten bellen en aan te geven dat er nog iets nageleverd moet worden… het duurt namelijk ook weer een tijdje voordat het dan wordt gebracht. Erg jammer, want het eten is namelijk goed.

Net friet van Zuyd berenhap met pinda en de (donderdag actie) de toren rundvleeskroket afgehaald en erg lekker gegeten en vriendelijk personeel eigenlijk net zo goed als 2 jaar terug toen ik daar nog in de buurt woonde

Zeer lekker gegeten, kaassouffle pikant met patat, biertje , wijntje. Vriendelijk personeel, leuk terrasje. Ik raad het aan als je van het strand komt.

Je kunt beter telefonisch bestellen, want als je aan de balie wilt bestellen duurt het ontzettend lang. Spontaan na het boodschappen doen even een snack halen werd daardoor een grote teleurstelling. Personeel was echt hard aan het werk, maar de mensen aan de balie werden naar mijn idee een beetje vergeten.

Snel, prima snacks en goed gevulde plates. De ambachtelijke patat is echt een aanrader.

Vandaag voor het eerst daar geluncht. Wat een verademing! Heel vriendelijk personeel, mooie entourage, en het eten ? Als ik een 11 kon geven deed ik het ! Fantastisch zo lekker en grote porties ! Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Snackbar met restaurant en het voelt ook echt als een restaurant. Je zit echt heerlijk rustig in een aparte ruimte. Ruime keuze op de kaart. Je wordt gewoon bediend met gewoon bestek en borden. De porties zijn echt groot. Lekkere frietjes en heerlijk stoofvlees. Vriendelijk personeel.
