Uninviting restaurant, lacking atmosphere. I had a brie sandwich with nuts and honey; I think the sandwich wasn't baked through, it was tasteless. I wouldn't recommend having lunch here; there are certainly nicer and better restaurants.

May 10, 2025, Saturday around 3:30/4:00 PM... Mini Ballorig is great for the kids! Only the staff walking around... customer unfriendly. You ask for a glass of water (me, as a very pregnant woman). The man who works there first asks, like, "Who's it for???" And I think, what does it matter? I politely indicate it's for me and the kids. Suddenly, he says, "Yeah, sorry, we don't do that here..." And then I think, "Why are you asking who it's for in the first place? Tell me right away that you don't do it?" I just grabbed my own bottle of water from my bag, and then a man who works there glares at me... The man who works there can glare at me, but he shouldn't have made a fuss about getting a glass of water...

Horrible people. No feeling that they are there with much pleasure and all the comments and "jokes" left a bad taste. Especially the boss brings a bad atmosphere to our dinner. Unfriendly person.

The location in the department store is excellent. The restaurant offers a nice view of the square. The interior is in need of some maintenance in places. The prices for hot and cold drinks are on the high side. The prices for snacks are absurd. Two euros for a pre-packaged Sprits. You have to uncap the Vrumona bottles yourself after paying. There's a free bottle opener for that. You can also clear the table yourself. It's no wonder it's never busy here. Edit based on comment: I was here on a Saturday afternoon. Monday is an assumption I can't follow? A bottle of chocolate milk costs 3.40 at the checkout (purchase 0.75 cents), but according to the website it's 2.80. Coffee costs 2.60 according to the website. From the comment, it appears that it's 2.95 at the checkout. The same Sprits costs almost half as much in the NS vending machine. The QR codes on the tables, which allow you to order at the table, are all well and good, but before guests see them, they've already walked past the self-service buffet. The website even shouts: "Orders can only be placed at the cash register." Shaking and opening a bottle at the cash register is considered polite. Asking if the guest would like a glass or straw is even better. That's part of hospitality and customer service. There might be glasses somewhere. But with the prices charged, you expect a bit more. The strange reaction has resulted in another star being dropped.

Great service, very friendly staff. Plenty of window seats, so you can enjoy the view outside. Clean and, at this moment, wonderfully quiet. I went for lunch with my family of three and spent under 30 euros on a delicious lunch.

Met dochters van 9 en 12 regelmatig hier even wat drinken met iets lekkers erbij als we in de stad zijn, we gaan hier het liefst naar toe. Je zit lekker ruim met mooi uitzicht en iedereen is hartstikke vriendelijk! Er wordt tijd gemaakt voor een gezellig praatje en vooral de donuts zijn favoriet bij de kids. Voor de kleintjes heerlijk plek om even te spelen zodat ouders even rustig kunnen zitten. Wij zijn dik tevreden!

Had lunch at Societea this afternoon, we noticed that customer satisfaction is not high on the list here. We ordered a separate plate of fries with our order on the 1st round, a good portion but we still fancied something more. That's why we ordered a large portion with a loose frikandel, after waiting a long time we got a mini portion of fries even though we paid a lot for this (more than €6). This was raised and the response was polite, we would get extra because this was indeed wrong. After 20 minutes we wondered where it was, so we asked. To our surprise, the same lady said that due to the crowds, she missed the meal, but that the portion was fine. Indicated that we do not agree with this, we pay a lot for this, but the lady did not think so at all. We did not feel taken seriously at all by this incredibly unfriendly old lady. This was our last visit there.

Had lunch yesterday. Salmon sandwich. Not special. But what I certainly didn't like was the hygiene. There is so much dust on the window that you can write on it. And the window that opens has cobwebs that are not from recent days. We won't be there again.

The process of ordering, paying and delivering is quite substandard. After about half an hour our Italian bun arrived... (to our unpleasant surprise it was a small size). The toppings were very meager and the filet American visibly came out of a tube. Furthermore, staff should be more aware of their personal appearance and hygiene. Try to make your guest happy... maybe they will come back... now that chance is very small.

The Capucino looked like water with a lot of foam. When asked, it turned out that the "coffee beans" were gone. The 2nd container offered turned out to be the same quality, or rather the lack thereof. I can understand the comment below, from the owner. My wife drank the second cup with relish. (dishwater was also a bit overdone, so adjusted)

We are regular customers at Societea. Every Saturday we are kindly greeted and helped. People know what you find important. The coffee is excellent, the food is prepared with care. A good quality-price ratio. We like to come there. When we celebrated our wedding anniversary we were enthusiastically congratulated. Customer-oriented attention works!

The children are also required to have a drink, otherwise they will not be allowed onto the climbing frame. The older woman was incredibly rude, she didn't agree that we only ordered coffee and nothing for the kids. To which she even ran after us (literally) just to say that she disagreed. Glad the kids were able to play, we won't go here anymore.. We would like to have a cup of coffee in peace. The children were playing for a while, while we had somewhere to sit. By introducing the rule that you also have to buy something for children, it is no longer a relaxing cup of coffee. The biggest reason for the 1 star is the rude woman, she was very skinny and came across as intimidating. From the first minute the atmosphere was not welcoming.

Terrible person. (Owner herself) Immediately commented with a smile... not 1 but several comments in a row. Disparaging and certainly not customer friendly. As an owner you should know better. The way she indicated that the children also had to drink something made it ready for me We were three adults and three children. This could certainly have been done in a different way, but since she already had a lot of comments, the atmosphere was already set. And if we or I showed up with a lot of children, I would have understood it. (Then you abuse the playground) But with three cups of coffee and three children playing, I don't understand the fuss. There certainly won't be a next time. I think it's time for her to retire.

Vreselijk mens. Meteen al commentaar met een glimlach… niet 1 maar meerdere opmerkingen achter elkaar. Kleinerend en zeker niet klantvriendelijk. De manier waarop zij aan gaf dat de kinderen ook consumptie moesten nemen was het voor mij al klaar. Dit had zeker ook op een andere manier gekund maar aangezien zij al veel commentaar had was de sfeer ook al gezet. Er komt zeker geen volgende keer. Ik denk dan ook dat het tijd wordt voor haar om met pensioen te gaan.

Zojuist met mijn gezin deze zaak bezocht en als zeer teleurstellend ervaren. Allereerst is de werkwijze van de zaak totaal onbegrijpelijk. Als klant kom ik binnen en zou ik direct bijvoorbeeld drinken uit de koeling kunnen pakken echter alle dienbladen bevinden zich NA de kassa. Huh? Maar goed, dan maar kijken wat we voor lunch zouden kiezen. Er kan vanalles besteld worden echter er lijkt niemand een bestelling op te kunnen nemen. Dan valt er een bordje op waarop staat dat je een bestelling bij de kassa moet doorgeven! Dat is vreemd. Staan er allemaal mensen te wachten om een drinken af te rekenen staan er vervolgens mensen tussen die aan dezelfde kassiere een ingewikkelde lunch bestelling moeten doorgeven. Totaal onlogisch. Afijn, wij bestellen. Kunnen we blijkbaar we direct wachten op onze koffie. De bestelling wordt allereerst niet door de kassiere begrepen, want die kende ze blijkbaar niet. Toen maar aangewezen op de drankenkaart want daar stond het toch echt. Okay. Andere meisje ging er mee bezig maar wist niet of er slagroom op moest. Dit vroeg ze aan de eerste maar die haalde haar schouders op. Toen maar wachten op de rest. Uiteindelijk kreeg ik mijn uitsmijter spek, waarbij de plakjes ontbijtspek dus ongebakken op het ei waren gelegd. Sorry hoor. Daar maar wat van gezegd maar uiteraard werd er geen probleem in gezien. Na een teleurstellende lunch en 30 euro lichter, maar even richting klantentoilet gelopen om toch nog ergens opgelucht van te geraken. Nee hoor, daar moest je uiteraard voor betalen. Onvoorstelbaar. Hier ga ik nooit meer heen.
