I had fries with pulled chicken and was thrilled. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented with a salad. I was particularly impressed by the friendly atmosphere – everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming.

We ate there a few days ago. The quality of the food, the service, and the cozy seating in the pedestrian zone were all fantastic 👍 We'll definitely be back to try more dishes! 🙏🏻

Last week I took a nice stroll through Doesburg; a beautiful little town. My final destination was Sonja's Zoon to have a nice meal there. Everything looked very inviting and well-presented. For once, things weren't just dumped on the plate, but finished off with the beautiful name Sonja's Zoon on it. The ladies had a smaller menu than I did. I had a schnitzel. Super tasty and really big!! The service was top-notch!!

We were received very hospitably. A solid 10 for this place; I have never eaten such delicious food at a snack bar. We will definitely be back from Amsterdam!

We are German tourists on a short break and found Sonja's Zoon through Google and good reviews. We enjoyed the food so much that we ate there two days in a row and were able to try two different dishes. The service was very friendly, and they put a lot of effort into the presentation. We would definitely come back. 100% recommended!! Plenty of portions to fill you up!! Prices are also perfectly reasonable!!

So friendly, so tasty, so honest, and so affordable! We were on vacation nearby and returned on our last day because it exceeded our expectations so much. When we asked for a fruit beer, the owner even walked home to offer us one! Fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed it! You can park for free a little further down the road, a short 5-minute walk away.

We were away for a weekend and visited Doesburg. We quickly decided to grab a bite to eat here; it looked nice from the outside. We found the menu unclear, but received helpful assistance. We ordered the following: Half a schnitzel menu/platter. It was a shame that the schnitzel was buried under the fries because the space on the plate had been reserved for Sonja's name written in mayonnaise. The "maccie sauce" that was ordered with it was also replaced by mayonnaise. Otherwise, it tasted good. We also ordered two hamburger menus/platters, each with a special fries, but we had to share the fries in a cone without consulting each other. 😳 This was probably because "Sonja" was written in large letters on both plates. Unfortunately, the hamburgers also came with very large, raw lettuce. It's strange that this was considered a menu/platter. We also had to pay for three sauces with these dishes, totaling €9. The biggest surprise came when we paid; we were shocked at how much it cost. We didn't even receive a receipt, but after complaining, they finally made one because we wanted to double-check. Otherwise, the food was good, but the price/quality ratio was NOT DONE.

Super friendly. Delicious coffee, the kids had incredibly good hot chocolate, and the fries were crispy on the outside but soft, just how they should be. Did I already say how nice the service was?

My parents were in Doesburg on a boat, and I was visiting for the day. We decided to eat here; it was a bit different from a typical cafeteria or restaurant; this is somewhere in between. The food was great! The husband and wife who run it together are friendly and always up for a chat! It was very busy, but they still managed it with just the two of them. Keep up the good work!

We were able to combine individual components of the menu according to our wishes, and everything was prepared fresh and delicious. The cozy ambiance invites you to linger – whether inside or outside, you simply feel at home. The atmosphere is familiar and relaxed, just the right thing for a little break with good food. This week we were working in Doesburg, laying a beautiful tile floor, and the customer asked if we'd like something tasty. We went for fries and a hamburger from a cafeteria, which we thought was pretty standard... until we saw the hamburger... it really captured our imagination. And it lived up to everything we expected and more. It was so delicious! I'd never had such a delicious takeout hamburger. Absolutely fantastic. I'll be back soon for the Burger de Zoon with BBQ/cola sauce. I've seen that sauce before from a chicken dish, so I'm really curious. But this hamburger is definitely recommended.

Tonight I had schnitzel with gypsy sauce. My wife had a "regular" schnitzel, which turned out to be half a schnitzel. I had a whole schnitzel, and it was indeed huge. But more importantly: it was absolutely delicious!!! It came with delicious fries and a beer and rosé. Definitely worth repeating!! Fantastic!!

From camping Sieberverden we cycled here (25 min) and we did not regret it. Very relaxed help and very friendly service and above all delicious food (fries pulled pork) and more than enough. nice coffee afterwards and satisfied back on the bike.

Had an uitsmijter and a brie sandwich here. The uitsmuiter was not what you normally get but was neatly and separately served and tasted excellent as well as the brie sandwich. The staff was friendly but sometimes too friendly but that did not affect the service. If we come to Doesburg again San we will definitely come back here.

Today after a boring day I stopped in Doesburg for two sandwiches to take away. Was greeted (as it turned out) by the young entrepreneur with a radiant smile and the question: "How was your day today?" Had a nice conversation and was so nice and hospitable that my day was good again. Customer friendliness a big 10! Delicious fresh sandwiches from the bakery next door and excellent quality snacks. Extra napkins (to prevent spilling in the car. 😁) Really recommended. If only it were like this everywhere!

A culinary surprise in the heart of Doesburg! Snack bar Sonja's Zoon is much more than an ordinary snack bar; it is a hidden gem where quality, atmosphere and hospitality come together. During my visit I enjoyed a Truffle Burger that really surpassed everything. Juicy, perfectly cooked meat with a refined truffle flavor and delicious toppings - a taste sensation that you normally only expect in luxury restaurants. Absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and genuinely involved. You immediately feel welcome here, as if you are a regular customer, even if it is your first visit. The store is neat, attractive and radiates love for the profession. Snack bar Sonja's Zoon in Doesburg is definitely one of my favorite places... so good, in fact, that I drive to Doesburg especially for it!

You immediately feel welcome in this cozy café. The woman behind the bar is very friendly and likes a chat. The food is very good. I think the little things like the fresh spring onion in the sauce with fries are a nice personal touch and make it just that little bit more special! :) Unfortunately I live too far away; otherwise this would have been the place for a tasty fries.

I was in town with my friends and accidentally discovered Sonja's Zoon. The prices were surprisingly affordable and the food was delicious. However, I was particularly impressed by the exceptionally friendly staff. I have never been served so kindly and attentively in Germany! In my opinion, the staff's service alone sets the restaurant apart. If I'm in Doesburg again, I'd love to come back.

100% recommendation While strolling through the city we happened upon Sonja's Zoon. We (6 adults, 1 child) received a very warm welcome. The nice young man asked us whether we spoke German or Dutch and when we told him that we were German he tried to explain everything in German as best he could. He immediately offered to push the tables (we were sitting outside) together. We have never received such courteous service in Germany. He answered all of our questions with a lot of patience and was also very child-friendly when it came to our 6-year-old son. We tried several different dishes, all of which tasted delicious. The dishes were so incredibly beautifully presented that the food tasted twice as good. The price-performance ratio here is simply top!!! We cannot confirm that the billing is incorrect, as can be read in some reviews. At the end we were given a very friendly farewell and wished us another wonderful holiday. If we are in Doesburg again we will definitely eat there again.

Sonja's son is the owner of this restaurant. An attractively decorated and cozy place to enjoy a delicious meal. We not only come for the delicious food, but also for the pleasant chat with the owner. As a guest you will really be spoiled here! Highly recommended! We eat here regularly.

Delicious food, friendly staff and attractive building and location. Went for dinner twice last holiday. Hogweed was special. Close by from the IJsselstrand campsite and you will quickly have tasty food.

When I am in Doesburg I like to go to Sonja's Son. The reason for that is the delicious food. The dishes are made with fresh products and you can taste that. The flavors are matched in the right way. That's why I'm a huge fan of Sonja' Zoon's meat salad. The service is also great. I like to get advice from the owner about the food. His advice has never disappointed in two years. And so Sonja's Son becomes an asset to Doesburg.

The staff is so friendly and they know their regular customers, their regular order, how nice is that! But they are especially great when it comes to 'foreign' ones. You really feel welcome, if I could give more stars I would. Too bad I live more than 1 hour away, otherwise I would know where I would get my weekly non-cooking day food!
