Spijkers Heemskerk in Wijk 03 Hofland, Oosterwijk en Zuidbroek

I attended a large party at Spijkers in Heemskerk. The evening started well; we were allowed to decorate the reserved room in advance (as long as we cleaned it up neatly at the end of the evening). Later in the evening, when the guests arrived and the party began, there were a few sloppy mistakes here and there. It had been communicated in advance that one of the guests has a gluten allergy, and in my opinion, this wasn't properly taken into account. All the small snacks (think toast with all sorts of toppings) were served on the same tray, with the gluten-free snack placed in the middle of the tray. That's not how it should be, of course. The service, however, was fast but not always friendly. I don't want to tar all the staff with the same brush, but some didn't seem very interested. The snacks were fine, but it was a real shame that no consideration was given to the gluten allergy and that the food wasn't handled "professionally" (it would have been nice if someone had apologized for the mistake, as it can happen, but an apology is appropriate).

Since Google deleted my previous review at Spijkers' request, I'm writing a more detailed version here. We organized a birthday party here. We were told we could play our own music through the system they had in place. On the day itself, they said the music wasn't working and only the standard playlist. When we brought this up afterward, we were told it was our own fault. We were told beforehand that one of us had to eat gluten-free. That wouldn't be a problem. We were served toast with toppings. Between them was a thick slice of cucumber with the same topping. I can tell you, it's not very tasty. Moreover, the toasts touched the cucumber, and there was cross-contamination. This isn't the first time. Last time I was here, I asked for gluten-free bread. It ended up being regular bread. When I pointed this out, the response I got was, "You'd just push it aside." That's not how an autoimmune disease works. Anyway. The food is otherwise excellent.

We went out to dinner with someone who has celiac disease (a gluten allergy). We notified them in advance, informed them on the day of the meal, and again before ordering, yet the order still came with a piece of toast. The person then indicated they had a gluten allergy, to which they were told, "You'll just eat around it." It's a shame to see that the staff isn't sufficiently aware of allergies and the consequences. We advise against this restaurant for people with a gluten allergy!

Great place Just make sure you specify which party is where and who owns it.

Well, good and bad. I think the quality of the food is very good. But it's so small. If I choose the most expensive cut of meat for 35 euros (grilled flat iron steak), I expect a steak, not a measly piece of meat weighing no more than 100-125 grams. At (for example) Loetje, I get twice as much for the same price. And again, the service was very friendly, the quality is good, but for 36 euros, I want to be full after eating, and I wasn't anywhere near that. Now, I also understand why they don't list the weight of the meat on the menu. It's a shame, because this was (for me) a one-time, never again.

Don't go here for the service! The staff were more busy with each other than with their tables! It took ages to get your menu, and you had to go to the bar yourself to order drinks. I asked for the bill, but I didn't get it. I had to ask another colleague again. They could use a course in customer service!

The chicken thigh sandwich was excellent. Delicious and served quickly. Too much for one person, so we shared it between the two of us. The staff were nice girls and a guy. Very friendly and professional. We had to be in the area, but I'll make a detour for Spijkers.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at Spijkers tonight. In memory of my grandmother, we had a family dinner with 10 people after her cremation. After asking twice over a 25-minute period (!) if we could have the menu, we decided to look it up online ourselves. The daily menu was sold out, so we quickly chose something else. The wait for our dish also took 25 minutes. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't very good, mostly tough and not very tender. Afterward, they didn't even ask if we were interested in dessert. Basically, the service was very poor and the quality wasn't great for a standard price. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Heerlijk gegeten . Goeie portie spareribs. Ook de andere gerechten: heerlijk. Gratis glaasje water bIj de wijn, brood en onbeperkt frietjes.

The wrong delivery to the table three times. €5.00 for a small bowl of fries (a handful) was ridiculously expensive. The "spijker" burger with fries was a real flop. The hamburger bun was very small...the fries were half a handful. It was absolutely awful. The taste was fine. The grilled cheese sandwich was pretty good. Price...€51.00🤮🥵🥴 No, they'll never see me there again.

Op het eten is niets aan te merken. Maar op de bediening des te meer, wat een vreselijke bediening. Twee man in de bediening terwijl het restaurant vol zat en buiten op het terras. Wij waren er met veertien man om onze verjaardag te vieren, om half een iedereen binnen, en om een uur kwamen ze aan tafel wat we wilden drinken, om tien voor half twee het eerste drankje naar binnen gewerkt. Personeel er op aangesproken, onze baas wil niet investeren in meer personeel. Wat een aanfluiting voor zo'n zaak. Daar laat men wat geld weglopen. Wij hadden van tevoren de afspraak gemaakt als de glazen leeg zijn meteen weer bij vullen, niets van terecht gekomen. Dit was voor ons de laatste keer. Meer mensen gesproken met dezelfde ervaring. Trieste zaak.

Very slow and poor service at nails in Heemskerk, first of all it took a long time before some drinks arrived and not all at the same time, during the first round there was a fifteen minute gap between the first glass and the last glass they put down, if you say something about it you are told that they have more tables, after asking for the menu four times you are told each time that they have more tables, in the end the food was on the table but they had forgotten 1 person, after 20 minutes everyone had finished it. except for 1 person, so we canceled it, you could no longer order certain dishes that were sold out and the barrel of beer had also run out, so we switched to another brand, but that can of course happen, so all in all a bad experience and no one apologized or apologized for, but after a lot of whining a round of drinks was deducted from the bill and of course 1 dish that was not accepted.

Unfortunately, even though the sandwich was tasty, it is not a sight when you enter somewhere and the tables are full of dishes. And not because it was so busy, no, just no one really felt like cleaning up. It was clearly an afternoon without a manager around. By the way, the staff could complain out loud about their work, even over the table with dishes.

Wij hadden een verjaardag van oma die 85 werd met 15 man die niet helemaal goed verliep, ten eerste moesten wij een half uur wachten op een drankje, na een half uur vroegen wij ook de kaart maar die kwam maar niet na drie keer de kaart te hebben gevraagd werd er gezegd dat er meer tafels waren en dat ze niet alles gelijk kunnen doen, na de bestelling kregen we na een uur het eten maar niet alles te gelijk dus maar wachten tot alles was opgediend maar dat duurde te lang. Na 15 minuten maar weer een klacht ingediend, het personeel reageerde zeer onbeschoft dus we zijn maar gaan eten en dat ene gerecht maar laten zitten. We hebben na afloop gezegd dat we niet alles gaan betalen maar dat ging ook niet zomaar, we hebben een rondje drankjes niet hoeven betalen en van niemand een sorry gehoord, alles bij elkaar zeer onbeschoft en zeker niet klantvriendelijk.

This used to be a nice restaurant. Under the current name, things are different: we waited 45 minutes for the menu, 15 minutes of waiting until the last 2 guests in our group of 15 people had their drinks and we could toast. Then I asked about it at the bar. The starter was delicious, 1 lady's main course never came and took so long that the others were already half ready. Arguing with the service about the bill... they still have a lot to learn and because there was no guidance from an older person, these 3 youngsters had to arrange it themselves with the guests and they were not ready for that yet. Too bad, the atmosphere was quite busy. The food is delicious by the way.

We hadden een high wine. Een super goed begin met een jongeman die alles netjes had uitgelegd. Het was zijn eerste keer en deed het super goed. Op het eind hadden wij een rode dessertwijn. Hierbij kregen bij ijs met caramel en noten. Beide afzonderlijk heel lekker, als combi vonden wij dit niet zo passen. Wij gaven dit aan bij een vrouw van de bediening ( mogelijk de leidinggevende van de avond). Zij zei, dat ze het zelf wel lekker vindt als combinatie en liep naar ons zeggen arrogant weg. Het kwam op ons over alsof ze niet tegen kritiek kon. Helaas was dit toch een kanttekening van onze avond, terwijl de rest heel lekker was. Wanneer iets volgens de gast niet helemaal naar wens is kan je dit toch beter anders ontvangen... hopelijk leest ze dit zelf en denkt ze hierover na...

We didn't have that long and when we indicated this we were helped very quickly. 2 delicious large salads with fries. Start with a sandwich with aioli from the company. Add some fries. Absolutely great. Friendly, smooth and cheerful service, delicious food, large portions and normal prices!

Delicious hare satay. But 1 minus point. A tiny bottle of (Pepsi)cola of only 0.2l...... 1 sip and it's gone. This mini size is a shame for any catering company and belongs at most on the children's menu; this format simply should not be offered to an adult. A shame because it really detracts from the hospitality that Spijker wants to evoke.

Prima gegeten en de bediening was netjes en goed. Wat een drama was is de akoestiek. Een groep die dominant aanwezig is dan kun je elkaar slecht verstaan. Een nagerecht hebben wij maar overgeslagen want het werd gewoon irritant.

Bij Spijkers was het geen probleem om onze hond mee te nemen. (Voor ons is dit belangrijk.) We hebben aller lekkerst gegeten. Beiden een verrassend voorgerecht. Veel verschillende structuren en smaken. Ons hoofdgerecht was ook zalig! Feedback: het vegetarische gerecht was( voor mij) eigenlijk iets te royaal. De helft zou al heerlijk genoeg zijn geweest. Omdat het zo ontzettend lekker was, àlles opgegeten. Vanwege een afspraak konden we geen toetje meer nemen helaas. Daar komen we graag eens voor terug.

We were here for a family member's birthday and left early after a drink due to the enormous noise in this tent. There is no sound insulation whatsoever in this building, it was deafening inside and I couldn't even hear the person next to us.

Had a delicious meal here on a Thursday evening with a group of friends of 10 people. The food was fine, the panna cotta was heavenly. I cannot leave out the nice selection of specialty beers on tap.

++ Personnel très gentil et souriant. - - Une fois les boissons servies, nous avons réclamé la cart au bout de 15 minutes d'attente..... vaut mieux car une fois commandé, il faut au moins 20 minutes pour être servi. Des plats préparés d'une drôle de façon. Carpaccion couvert de tomates séchées, baignant dans une sauce salade, pas une pignon de pin à l'horizon, heureusement qu'il y avait quelque copaux de parmesan.... franchement pas bon et absolument pas conforme au plat original. Idem pour la flammenkueche, pâte trop épaisse, recette original demande des lardons, ognions etc... pas un lardon ou ognion à l'horizon, mais de la viande éffillée et couverte de sauce barbecue.... franchement dégeu. Nous ne reviendrons pas

I recently read a review about Spijkers and got a kind of deja vu yesterday. We also just walked in, but were told that there would not be a table available if we had not made a reservation. A cheerful lady read the agenda and saw that there was a table available, provided we left before 6:45 PM. We took up that challenge. Fresh rolls from the house were still in the oven. The spry lady (wish I knew her name) remained prompt, but friendly and welcoming. After an appetizer, we were asked if the main course could be served immediately due to time. Fine! This was not noticeable in terms of taste. In the meantime it was filling up, but the staff remained attentive and fast. Small downside: the green beans were very hard and not cooked through. Too bad, because the rest was fine! For dessert I had a scropino. I was advised to beware of a brain freeze. We have made a reservation for October 5 due to birthdays. Hopefully the cheerful lady will be there again.

Wat een geweldig restaurant is dit. We wilde spontaan uit eten en bij binnenkomst bleek binnen vol geboekt te zijn. We hebben heerlijk op het terras gezeten en werden uitmuntend geholpen door het personeel. Vooraf kregen wij een broodje met smeersel van het huis. Drinken welke we besteld hadden kregen we snel. De kaart is ruim voorzien van allemaal diverse gerechten. Voor ieder wat wils. Er wordt super rekening gehouden met voedselallergieen. Het eten was echt mega lekker. We hadden een soort van biefstuk en wilde deze medium en dat was deze ook echt. Hoofd gerecht werd geserveerd met patat met mayo en een salade. Een restaurant waar we zeker vaker naar toe gaan. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk.

As always very tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere, the only complaint is the view from the restaurant overlooking the parking lot. Maybe a little more greenery in the restaurant's garden.

The food was fine, well prepared and quite tasty. Yet there are plenty of restaurants where the food was considerably better than here. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant, there is almost nothing to complain about. The service, on the other hand, was very poor, the servers were very friendly, but there was an hour between the starter and the main course, so the appetite had already dropped considerably. The friendliness of the waitresses, the atmosphere and the excellent food have resulted in three stars instead of two.

Had lunch here today. The food is good. Haas satay tasted great. The carpaccio salad was three stars. This is caused by a lot of raw red onion and too many sun-dried tomatoes. Croquette sandwich was good. Rosé three stars. Had to wait a long time for the first drink in the beginning. (Half an hour) Somewhat short of staff? Actually worthy of 3.5 stars

I had a great flat iron steak, the veal cheek was wonderfully tender and the carpaccio beforehand was very tasty, although I would have liked a little older cheese on it. If they peeled the potatoes for the fries, the food would get 5 stars.

Alles prima in orde. Heerlijk eten, prima bediening en een uitstekende indeling van het restaurant. Niet boven op elkaar, de tafels zijn prima over de ruimte verdeeld. De locatie is ook prima, makkelijk te bereiken, veel parkeerplaatsen. Al met al een absolute aanrader!!

Het was duidelijk dat ze extra handen in de bediening zouden kunnen gebruiken. Degene die er liep, werkte erg hard, maar idealiter zouden de gasten iets minder lang wachten. Het eten was erg lekker, dus uiteindelijk was het goed geslaagd, die lunch op mijn verjaardag 😃

Super dinner gehad met heerlijke kalf wangetjes. De service was niet erg alert en wat langzaam maar wel vriendenlijk. Veder op een saaie locatie maar wel een mooi interieur.

Zojuist met ons vieren gegeten. Super lekker, super gezellige bediening. Was niet onze eerste keer en zeker niet de laatste.

Telefonisch een tafel gereserveerd. Sowieso jammer dat dit niet online kan. Drinken werd vrij snel opgenomen en gaf aan dat we ook wilden eten. Er werd gezegd dat de kaart gelijk met het drinken gebracht zou worden. Niet dus. Na 20 minuten zelf nog maar een keer naar de kaart gevraagd. Vervolgens na een kwartier (!) werd onze bestelling opgenomen. Ook om een asbak gevraagd, zou hij "gelijk" brengen. Ook niet dus. Toen drinken voor tweede keer werd gebracht, maar nog een keer gevraagd. Deze dame kwam het wel gelijk brengen. Lijkt me voor de locatie wel zo prettig om in een asbak te assen in plaats van op de grond. Flat iron steak was medium rare gevraagd. Meer medium well, één stukje was werkelijk medium rare. Zeebaars filet zo ver doorgebakken dat deze helemaal uit elkaar viel. En dan heb je daar 30 min op zitten wachten. Gelukkig wel op smaak, maar als je zolang op alles moet wachten, heb je gewoon geen zin om dit aan te geven. Voordat er eenmaal een oplossing zou zijn, zouden we hoogstwaarschijnlijk weer 30 min verder zijn. Geen zin in. Na het eten maar gelijk opgestaan om binnen af te rekenen. Buiten zou het sowieso weer te lang duren. Keken er enorm naar uit hier te eten. Was op aanraden van een collega. Helaas zwaar teleurgesteld en niet voor herhaling vatbaar.
