A very nice beach pavilion. Very friendly service, very comfortably furnished, and a direct view of the sea. You don't need anything more. We'll be back. We feel very comfortable here. I feel uncomfortable in some of the beach pavilions around here, but not here. It's self-service outside, but you're waited on inside. Prices are good.

We've been going to Noordwijk for almost 8 years. Jan is always our first port of call. He's only in his area on the beach. The staff are simply fantastic. They're friendly, helpful, and, above all, they have no prejudice against strangers. Keep up the good work, TEAM VAN ROON.

We first stopped at the chic beach club Beach Club, but felt a bit awkward. We then ended up at beach pavilion Van Loon and immediately felt at ease; ordering our own food at the Beach Bar and enjoying the lovely, spacious living area, where we could relax and soak up the Noordwijk sun, drinks, and food, and especially the regular tourists without the blah-blah and small talk. A breath of fresh air, really!

Great beach tent and the price is also fine

The atmosphere is just not quite right. Of all the beach bars in Noordwijk, this one is the worst. The staff works hard but makes mistakes when it comes to service. (Wrong order, closing the umbrella while we were still there, half-closing the gate.) After a drink, we left.

Could have been more kind to the customer

We've been going to Nordwijk for a few years now and have always stayed at this beach pavijoen Roon. The atmosphere is cool, simple, and beautiful with a direct ocean view. The service is friendly. If you mention New Zealand to the owner, there's always something to talk about. The prices are reasonable, too. It's a shame they close at 5 p.m.; I would have sat there in the evening and eaten something delicious. We'll be back in 2026.

We've known van Roon for over 10 years. This is a beach bar like the old days, not a trendy beach bar. Family-run, just like the old days on the Dutch coast.

Wonderful beach club. Casual atmosphere, no time slot or those kinds of situations that you sometimes get at other beach clubs. Lots of families with children and we really liked that. Good prices, tasty food. You can order and pick it up yourself. If we are in Noordwijk again we will definitely come back.

Nice beach bar with pub-like way of ordering. So ideal. You sit at a table, choose what you want to eat, walk to the bar and order your food and drinks and provide your table number. You can take your drinks with you immediately and your food will arrive a little later.

We hebben hier met z’n tienen gegeten voor de lunch. Van binnen ziet het er super gezellig uit. We hebben heerlijke broodjes gegeten met een lekker Texels biertje. De frietjes die we erbij hebben genomen zijn super lekker en de poffertjes ook! Echt vriendelijke bediening. Wat wil je nog meer?! Bedankt!

Very nice reception. The owner himself served and was extremely friendly. Luckily for us, he could speak perfect German. English wouldn't have been a problem either. Drinks and food were brought quickly. We were informed in advance that the kitchen would soon be closing. That wasn't a problem for us at all, because everyone likes to close the shop earlier on public holidays. Even before the coffee machine was cleaned, the innkeeper checked every table and asked in advance whether anyone else would like a coffee specialty. I can't understand the individual comments that this should be a problem. There can also be a staff shortage or, as mentioned, it is Easter weekend. The restaurateurs are also people with families and private lives. We were very kindly informed about everything and served. We both had a cheeseburger with fries. There is also a small salad. We enjoyed it very much. The portion was more than enough. Even a man gets fed up with it :-) Great service, rarely had such sympathy, cozy atmosphere and funny innkeeper. Thank you :-)

A great place to spend a relaxed afternoon. We had great weather and very friendly service. There was a lot to look at for interested people like me... which earned me a moderate "enema" from my girlfriend... I seemed a bit unfocused when one or two Dutch beauties walked past us and my friend me Something "extremely exciting" was reported by your work colleague's friend and your neighbor's husband .. blah blah blah blah... Despite all that, a very successful afternoon in a great place...

Waited 15 minutes for food, when I wanted to order they told me that the kitchen is closed. I suggested to at least write it doen on a piece of paper at the entrance so other customers don’t have to wait for nothing, to which they answered that they won’t do it (quote: “wat moet ik met zo’n advies?”)

A lovely sunny Saturday for a day in Zandvoort with the three of us. Mother-in-law wishes to visit and shop here again after a long time. After a walk through the center and a cup of coffee and sausage roll at Van Welie, head into the dunes and onto the boulevard. Perched at Roon Beach Pavilion in a lovely spot in the sun behind the wind screen. Self-service which is very fast. Delicious cold drinks and snacks. Enjoyed….

Super cozy atmosphere, friendly service and really delicious food for a small price! You can also eat gluten-free here very well. The gluten-free bread is really tasty. We will definitely come back here more often!

Great, it's handy that they use self-service here. At other beach bars you couldn't go anywhere because there was no staff.

No table service, while other restaurants in the area can provide table service. Snacks/bites only from available for three hours. No good alternatives. While the surrounding terraces do offer this. We won't go here again. Would like to go to a tent nearby.

This place remains magical to me. First of all because we got married there. That was truly one of the most beautiful days of my life. And Van Rhoon has definitely made a major contribution to this (in addition to hubby ❤️, family, friends and great weather). What fantastic service. Food great and so is the wine arrangement. Now after many years, those around me still talk about it as one of the best wedding parties ever! So 5 points for Van Rhoon.

I've been coming here for practically as long as I've been in the world, and that's quite a while. First with my parents, when the beach pavilion was still about half the size, as was the menu. Nevertheless, even back then, all of our wishes were fulfilled. In order to be able to keep up with the luxurious, if somewhat ostentatious, pavilions of the large hotels left and right, the family business has improved its pavilion step by step with a lot of love and probably also blood and sweat. The result is impressive. The food remains tasty and fresh, the service is (hospitable) friendly, unlike their sometimes smug colleagues in the other pavilions. Here you are not a number, on the contrary, you quickly become part of the family and feel at home. If all I have to do to get all of these benefits from this authentic establishment is to get my drink myself at the bar instead of having it served (which is certainly the case when it comes to the food), I simply can't understand other reviewers' problem. By the way, there are also signs that politely announce the need for self-service. After all, in Germany they say: “Those who can read have a clear advantage 😉.”

Nice pavilion with beautiful views. You sit on a sheltered terrace and the food is tasty and affordable. Friendly staff and the service is good. Toilets are clean and also a toilet for the disabled.

Het bestaat nog aan de Nederlandse kust: een 'gewone', degelijke goede normale strandtent. Wat een heerlijke plek. Een verademing, 'gewoon', down to earth, prima kaart, dito prijzen, gezellig ingericht, prima kwaliteit van lunch en zeer, zeer vriendelijke en fijne bediening. Niet één van die überhippe Ibiza-achtige tenten maar gewoon goed. Hoewel redelijk zonnig hebben toch binnen gezeten maar terras zag er ook goed uit. Een aanrader.

Het is een zelfbediening concept waarbij je aan een loket je drinken en eten kan bestellen. De drankjes kan je gelijk meenemen en je eten wordt gebracht. Het is niet super druk als wij aankomen. Het bestellen gaat vlot en ook het eten is helemaal ok. Een prima concept om even onder een parasol te genieten van je bestelling en de zee...het kijkt hier namelijk leuk weg... Het personeel is vriendelijk. De wc's zitten naast het restaurant en zien er schoon uit.

De keuken was al bijzonder vroeg gesloten, waardoor wij na één drankje al weer verder gingen. Prijzen zijn oké, maar let op: ook hier is sprake van self service.

J. van Roon is a no-nonsense budget-friendly beach club where you have to stand in line to order. Food will be brought to your (numbered) table. Always really enjoy the good Dutch deep fried snacks with a beer here!

Es ist eine Strandbar mit Selbstbedienung, also erst einen Tisch aussuchen, Tischnummer merken, dann am Kiosk bestellen, Getränke mitnehmen und Essen wird an den Tisch gebracht. Aber Achtung! Die Öffnungszeiten ändern sich täglich, also immer nachmittags auf der Tafel schauen, wie lange die Strandbar geöffnet hat

Zeer fijne strandpaviljoen met speeltoestellen voor de kids.Je kijkt mooi uit op het strand en de zee.Erg vriendelijke bediening,ik wou nog frietjes bestellen voor de kids maar de keuken was dicht maar was geen probleem,ze maakte nog een portie friet voor ons.

Tolle Location mit sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern, guter Getränkeauswahl und wirklich direkt am Strand. Traumhaft!

Casual paviljoen waar iedereen welkom is. Afgezet met windschermen waardoor het er met wat minder weer ook goed vertoeven is. Goede kaart, heerlijke sandwiches en borrelkaart. Altijd genieten hier!

Ontzettend leuke tent voor een feestje.

Schöner Strandpavillion für einen Strandtag. Man kann gut draussen sitzten. Getränke muss man sich selber holen, Essen wird nach der Bestellung im Pavillion an den Tisch gebracht. Alles sehr relaxt. Als wir dort waren, war irgendwie ganz Noordwijk leer. Es ware nur ein paar Gäste jeden Tag im Pavillion und man konnte sich dort in Ruhe vor dem heftigen Wind verstecken.

Wir fahren öfter hin, super Atmosphäre schneller Service und Essen sehr gut, Note 1.

Self service ist hier angesagt,was ich persönlich super finde. Preis sind ok und das Essen auch.

Gezellig zitten daar en lekker eten. Maar wel belachelijk lang moeten wachten op onze bestelling eten.... Ruim een uur! Sorry, dan kan het nog zo gezellig zijn, maar dat is niet oké! En toen ik na 55 minuten wachten binnen ging doorgeven dat wij al zolang zaten te wachten, kon er geen excuus vanaf. Erg jammer.....

Alle drei Kategorien sind super! Sie haben auch deutsch und englisch verstanden. Wir haben unseren Rucksack dort vergessen und es erst bei der Ankunft in unserer Unterkunft bemerkt- ein Anruf und der Rucksack wurde schon vom freundlichen Personal zur Seite gestellt!

Der leckerste und vielleicht beste Latte Macchiato am Strand von Noordwijk. Auch der Eiskaffee ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist stets freundlich. Immer wieder gerne. 👍🏻😀

Unfortunately they don’t take foreign cards, but the friendly barman lent me his bike to take up to “town” to withdraw some cash. The food was tasty but “bar grub” style, but the outstanding service and friendly staff gives this place a 5+. We’d come again!
