Our first visit to the beautifully renovated Schippershuis was a pleasant surprise. Even on a busy Friday evening with a party in the village, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Lunch was great, the service was friendly, and the price-quality ratio was excellent. We were really late for our reservation, so we called ahead and were very polite about it. I'll definitely be back!

We had a delicious meal here in a very cozy setting. Fair prices, local meat, and a kitchen that prepares your dishes with love. The service is also great, with spontaneous young women who are perfectly themselves. The only point of concern is that they could sometimes be a bit more attentive to their tables (we sat there for quite a while with an empty glass while they were chatting happily). No criticism, though, just feedback. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was excellent, only a shame there was a lot of French fry debris on the fries. The staff could probably give me a price estimate for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, which was no longer on the menu. I was a bit shocked afterward, despite the 20% discount. But I'll definitely be back.

We had a wonderful meal with friends last night; everything was absolutely delicious. A delicious carpaccio, just the way it should be. Plenty of meat, truffle sauce, and... bacon! You don't see that often at other restaurants. The main course: a wonderfully tender tenderloin, followed by a delicious dessert. The waitress was a pleasant, friendly young woman who also enjoyed a joke and kept us well-informed. After the appetizer, she politely asked if she could let the kitchen know if the main course could be prepared yet and that it would take about 20 minutes. Very polite, and it did indeed arrive after about 20 minutes. As the icing on the cake, we received a very sweet card with a personal handwritten message. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food, friendly staff and good atmosphere!

On October 24th, we celebrated our wedding at the Schippershuis with a dinner and a subsequent party. The Schippershuis team, especially Jeffrey, thought of everything, and nothing was too much trouble. This was evident even during the planning stages and was completed on the day itself. Everything was even better than we could have hoped for. We provided the decorations ourselves, which the Schippershuis handled beautifully! We had a wonderful evening, and we wanted for nothing. All our guests were also very pleased with the venue and the delicious food, so we can only give you so much praise! We are incredibly happy we chose the Schippershuis for our dinner and party, because it truly made our day! Keep up the good work, because we are certain you will make many more couples and guests just as happy! 🫶🏻🤎

The taste is good. It's fresh. The flavor combination is okay. But do something about the presentation. It looks awful. Messy, dull, unappealing. And put a suitable slat between the deck planks to keep the legs from sinking.

We were there with our boat and reserved the best spot, and...that's exactly what we got. Super friendly staff and delicious food.

On a lovely Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed all sorts of delicious snacks on the terrace of the Schippershuis! Quickly served, and everything was so delicious!

What a fantastic establishment. We especially wanted to highlight our 5-year anniversary and our upcoming wedding. The flowers were meticulously designed. The food, what quality! It was full of flavor, and the owner's hospitality was outstanding. Other restaurants and bars could definitely learn from this. We had a wonderful evening, the food was excellent, thank you!

Went here last Saturday. I had a delicious summer salad, and my husband had bread with croquettes. The deep fryer was probably broken, because the croquettes arrived half-frozen. But that was resolved so neatly! Kudos to the service! This means that whenever we're in the area again...we'll definitely be back for lunch.

The five of us had a wonderful meal outside on the terrace, sitting on a round corner sofa where an extra chair was neatly placed so we could all sit together in a cozy circle. The food was delicious, and the service was visible and attentive. Perhaps something could be done about the smell on the terrace near the smoking area (it smelled a bit musty).

As it should be, what a wonderful restaurant. There is staff and also a chef with love for their work. You notice that, you feel that and you taste it. Dishes with a lot of taste and beautifully served (I happened to have a veggie burger with grilled vegetables and potatoes from the oven). Even this tasted like from a star restaurant. They take care of all the food and drinks here, the staff is very friendly and service-oriented, not at your table every 5 minutes but they do pay attention to when you want something, pour you water, ask if you want your next course already. Atmospherically decorated. We sat there for 3 hours, wonderful! (You can also have a party there, business lunch, beautiful terrace and view of the harbor there, very beautiful building) We would like more vegetarian options with vegetarian meat then we will come more often 😉

Were in the mood for lunch, a quick Google, and yes, got in the car towards Numansdorp. Beautiful building, friendly service, spacious terrace. Inside it is atmospheric. Food was excellent. I will definitely come here again, still have to try the meatballs. 😜 So if you are in the area, this is definitely recommended.

What a wonderful place in a beautiful and special location!

Been there 4 times now, once for dinner and three times for lunch on a business invitation. The first time they had just opened and you don't look too closely. The service forgot a lot and didn't have all sorts of things like toothpicks, stirrers for cocktails etc. It looks nice and the staff is friendly. The menu is quite limited for dinner, you have to like hamburgers and meat and otherwise very limited. The meal salads are the size of a starter, bread or fries are not included as standard, but you can of course order them with an additional charge. The taste is fine otherwise. There are good sandwiches for lunch, but the price is high for the quality you get. They just miss the mark with what they want to radiate and what you get. In terms of location it is nice and when the weather is nice it is nice to sit outside. Inside it is a disaster when it is busier; the acoustics are so bad that you can hardly hear each other in the cacophony of the space. In addition, if you sit in the front, it pulls through the doors of rain that are constantly opening and closing. But also in the back by the window it is freezing cold and no heating. So no, not very comfortable. After having been there a few times, my final conclusion is: Nice location but acoustics are very bad, just like the climate. I will join if I have to, but it is not my choice to go here again to guarantee a good meal.

Inmiddels 4 keer geweest, 1 keer diner en drie keer lunch op zakelijke uitnodiging. De eerste keer waren ze net open en kijk je niet zo nauw. Het ziet er mooi uit en het personeel is vriendelijk. De kaart is voor diner vrij beperkt, je moet van hamburgers is vlees houden en daarbuiten erg beperkt. De maaltijd salades zijn van het formaat voorgerecht, zit standaard ook geen brood of friet bij, maar je kun je uiteraard met bijbetaling bestellen. Smaak is prima verder. Voor lunch zijn er prima broodjes, maar de prijs is fors voor de kwaliteit die je krijgt. Ze slaan net het plankje mis met wat ze willen uitstralen en wat je krijgt. Qua locatie is het mooi en bij mooi weer lekker om buiten te zitten. Binnen is het een drama als het drukker is; akoestiek is zo slecht dat je elkaar amper kan verstaan in de kakafonie van de ruimte. Daarnaast trekt het als je voorin zit door de deuren van buitje die constant open en dicht gaan. Maar ook achterin bij het raam is het steenkoud en geen verwarming. Dus nee, niet heel comfortabel. Na enkele keren geweest te zijn is mijn slotconclusie: Mooie locatie maar akoestiek is erg slecht , net als klimaat. Ik schuif aan als het moet maar is niet mijn keuze om hier nog naartoe te gaan om gegarandeerd lekker te eten.

Extremely attentive reception and even with 30 degrees Sofia remains friendly and enthusiastic in taking your order. Excellent and beautiful new restaurant I have been coming to the Schippershuis since 1956, at the time a place where local rock bands played in the lower dike area. Now, after a major renovation, the restaurant shines like never before. The interior is playful and atmospheric, with special details that give the whole a unique look (see added photos). Even the toilets are a sight in themselves, thanks to the special pottery. However, you have to go down a rather steep staircase to get there. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the delicious fish and meat dishes, for which we received excellent advice. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lively and warm, with a multi-coloured audience. On Friday evening the place was packed. No problem for us, but for those who like peace and quiet, the hustle and bustle can be a bit overwhelming. A birthday boy was exuberantly put in the spotlight, which we thought was wonderful to see and hear, although it turned out that not everyone in the place enjoyed it equally. The food is of a high standard. The meat in particular was of excellent quality. A small side note: no vegetables were served with the main course, which we probably should have indicated ourselves. That was a shame. After the main course, we were also not asked if we wanted dessert, only whether we wanted coffee or tea. In retrospect, this was not a problem, because the portions were more than sufficient. The service was professional and friendly, but sometimes a bit too fast. For example, someone came several times to ask if we wanted something to drink, while we had just placed an order. This was probably due to the fact that different staff members were serving the tables without optimal coordination. The prices are steep, but in line with the market. For four people, we paid a total of €288, including a generous and delicious starter (see photo), a main course and coffee with four beautiful and tasty chocolates. The hospitality and service were generally excellent, with a manager who clearly radiated passion (see photo that he took himself). With a little better internal coordination, the service could even go to five stars. We will definitely come back here! Yes, we have been back in the meantime and can therefore show you some more photos. But we can also tell you that our positive impression has only been strengthened. This time there were three of us and we chose a delicious three-course dinner. We recommend that you order a nice mix of side dishes such as fries, sweet potato fries and potatoes from the oven with a mix of vegetables. All together with various drinks we spent about 220 euros this time (excluding tip). Quality and price are in good proportion. The various friendly and cheerful hostesses and gentlemen made it a successful evening for us again.

When visiting Numansdorp we were advised to have something to eat at the Schippershuis. What a beautiful place and super service. We chose the 'Holtkamper' with beef and the 'best ball' of the Netherlands. Nicely served with rustic bread. By accident there was a croquette instead of beef, with shrimps. Was solved immediately and we got a drink on the house for the 'inconvenience'. Super enthusiastic owner, passionate and enthusiastic. Price quality ratio more than sufficient. Beautiful interior and beautiful location. We will definitely come back here.

We enjoyed yesterday afternoon, everything was perfect. The children's menu, the Australian Wagyu and the rest. Staff was great, keep an eye on everything. Can only give you a big 10. But try to put whipped cream on the Irish coffee. That makes it completely perfect. See you soon again..

Beautiful interior which gives atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We were there quite early for dinner because of the child but had to wait a long time for everything, the menu, drinks etc... While there were not that many people sitting there but enough staff continuously walked by and were at the bar. Bread with spreads came at some point at the same time as the starter, the children's toast was so thick that it was almost only crust, for a child of 4 that is not very handy. When it got busier we had to wait even longer for our main course, they did politely offer a drink on the house. Maybe also ask questions more friendly instead of do you want something else.. while the plates are being taken.

What a nice restaurant this is!!. We went out for a nice dinner for our wedding day and how nice that we were welcomed with balloons and confetti on the table. The food was delicious and was enhanced by the nice atmosphere and great service. Compliments to you as a team!! See you soon again.
