I ordered so I can't say much about the atmosphere. Well, the food was really great. The butterchicken and tikka masala with (cheese) tasted like more.

Very disappointed. I had made a reservation for a Friday night more than a week in advance, and on Wednesday night I suddenly received an email that my reservation had been cancelled, without any explanation. I immediately called, but could not reach anyone. I tried calling a few more times on Thursday and Friday, but again no answer. This is really crappy service.

Ordered on Sunday evening. The opening hours also indicate that they are open. After 1.5 hours and 4 calls, I thought: I'm going there. Conclusion: entire tent closed. I hope I get my money back. Possibly a point for improvement for the website, if you are closed, make sure that no one can order

We order and eat there regularly. Delivery is always on time. Always delicious and friendly prices. I can't understand why the restaurant isn't busier.

The Tamarinde restaurant is my best experience in the Netherlands, the real indian food, sophisticated with all flavours from Mumbai. The Chef Sumedi is the real gentleman, cordial. The dishes are perfect and beautifully prepared. Service is perfect. The atmosphere and decor are contemporaneous, with a lot of requinte. Tamarinde is above and beyond, I always want to return.

Normally we go to our Indian restaurant in Leiden. Today we ate for the first time in restaurant Tamarinde in Alphen aan den Rijn. We have a new favorite restaurant. The food is really fantastic. Combined vegetarian starters are also not served in such high quality in well-known good restaurants in India. It's worth the detour. The restaurant itself is spacious. The female service is friendly and very hospitable. Oh yes, and affordable parking in the immediate vicinity.

What a "hidden gem" in Alphen aan den Rijn: Authentic food, plenty of room, fast service with a genuine smile. Would have been nice to order a side dish of vegetables but we maybe overlooked this option in the menu. We need to get back heree soon to investigate ... Will do! Namasté

Mooi gelegen aan de gouwe in het centrum. Een ruim opgezet restaurant met warme kleuren. Leuke rondzitjes en verhoogde zitplaatsen aan het raam. De gerechten zijn smaakvol en goede prijs kwaliteit. De kip en lam is boterzacht en goed gekruid. De milde gerechten zijn smaakvol maar met medium komt de curry smaak meer naar voren. Bediening goed die de tijd voor je neemt. Jammer dat het restaurant niet heel druk bezocht wordt. Mogelijk ook doordat het Vanseveren weg niet zichtbaar is. Het interieur mag best wat aangevuld worden met authentieke Indiase voorwerpen.

My favorite restaurant in Alphen. Delicious food and the naan bread is unbeatable. Very friendly staff. It is large inside, you have plenty of space and you can hear each other well.

We booked a table of two.The environment is nice.We ordered the lamb bhuna uuh lala it was so delicious plus kaas nan.The starters were finger licking.The deserts were limited but was ook worth it.The waitress was soo friendly and always kept an eye for empty glasses and plates.Me and my partner were satisfied and would definitely go back again

Cold and the food was with little taste. Not even a bowl of rice or something, which you get as standard at most restaurants! Never again and too expensive for so little......

AMAZING Indian food. In addition, the staff is super friendly. We had a panneer with spinach sauce and lamb tandoori. Both very tasty and satisfied amounts. We also ordered the garlic naam which was super tasty. We are definitely coming back!

I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, the evening. I have been to Indian restaurants before, but in this one I felt everything was particularly tasteful: appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The service and kindness of the staff was also special. I also appreciated a lot how considerate they were with the spices, so that eventually the courses were spicy just at the right level for everyone: not too much, not too little, just the perfect spot. Finally, the location is just in front of a canal, I guess in Summer it will be lovely to eat outside. I will certainly come back!

The food itself was delicious, but the service was disappointing. I think these people have just started and unfortunately the lack of catering experience is also noticeable. It took half an hour before we were asked to order something to drink. Then another hour and a half before we finally had our food, where unfortunately one of us only got her choice when the others had already finished. The food itself was excellent, we had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, supplemented with delicious naan bread and tandoori mushroom tikka. Not very complicated, which is why it is difficult to understand why it all took so long. The ambiance is also pleasant, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and styled. Truly fantastic food. We have traveled a lot in India. So know the flavors. Absolutely TOP and not expensive. Recommended: mushroom masala Delicious sauce mild, with fresh chestnut mushrooms. Drinks very cheap. (750 ml Spa red -3 glasses- for 3.50) Very nice staff. Would like to take cooking lessons there.

Had a lovely dinner with friends tonight. Dishes look like paintings and the flavors are so pure (we had the mild vegetarian dishes). The service (and chef) are very customer friendly. In summary: Tamarinde is a gem in Alphen that we didn't know existed. We will be back soon.

Delicious food! For us a second introduction to the cuisine of India. The restaurant is very quietly decorated, with a pleasant noise level. The service is warm and cheerful and the evening gets off to a good start. The food was surprisingly tasty. We opted for vegetarian starters and tasted flavors we have not experienced before. Really well cared for and clearly prepared with love. The main course for us consisted of two chicken dishes that we of course shared. One was quite spicy and the other was not. Both tasted great! We got a Mango Lassie (kind of mango smoothie) that was soft and fresh in taste and delicious with food. the naan bread was also super tasty. In short, come visit! There are many options for vegetarians and people who eat vegan. We are not vegetarians ourselves and chose a mass of vegetarian and meat. This restaurant really turned out to be a nice surprise for us, also located on the water! We will definitely go back....

I ordered food via the Tamarind site and I saw that they didn't have what I wanted on the menu. I mentioned this in my order and asked if they could make this anyway. They then made exactly what I wanted, even though it wasn't on the menu! Really amazing! It tasted fantastic, delivery was on time and was done by a very friendly person. This is one thousand percent recommended!

Delicious as usual! A rough diamond that Alphen doesn't seem to have fully figured out yet. Been several times with large and small groups and the food is consistently high quality, which is not possible everywhere! I have eaten Indian food all over the world and this is not inferior to the better restaurants, and that in Alphen! The staff is always friendly and pleasant, as are the owners! 5 stars without any effort.

Incredibly delicious food! I've been there several times now and every time it has been fantastic. It's special that it isn't packed here every evening, because it really is a restaurant that deserves it. Moreover, there is no comparable restaurant in Alphen, definitely one that you should not miss. The place is a bit off the route, along the quay on the old Rhine, where Kyoto used to be. We will definitely go there many more times!

Ordered here for the first time tonight. Friendly delivery person. The paper bag was greasy at the bottom from the leakage of one of the dishes. Food was plenty hot. The meat and sauce dish contained more sauce than meat. The sauce had a good taste. The chicken dish was made from chicken thigh and tasted almost the same. Nine pieces of chicken thigh and two types of rolled sausage. The naan bread was more like a greasy pancake. All in all, the food is overpriced for what you get. Small food containers. Almost 40 euros for the little you got. We will not order here again. And was it really tasty? Hmmmm we have a different view on that. A disappointing experience for us.

I had been given food that had made me sick. The meat was not cooked properly. I posted a bad review. I was immediately contacted and offered solutions and apologies for what had happened. I got my money back!

How special Indian cuisine is! Nice waitress who is well informed about the dishes and took the time to explain them. We also saw the owner several times. Of course compliments were given. Enjoyed the dishes!

Went there for dinner. Very nice and cozy restaurant with some delicious Indian delicacies. The hosts were very hospitable. Really liked the platter especially chicken tikka. Lamb Roghan Josh was one of my favorites. Definitely coming back here.

It was a great experience. Right from the starters to the drinks to the main course, each and every dish makes your mouth water! The flavours are very close to the authentic versions back in India. Both, the quality of the food and the dine-in experience were top-class giving us hardly anything to complain about! Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. We visited here for our wedding anniversary dinner. Loved the sev puri, biryani, rasmalai. The quantity was also good. The lassi was divine!! Staff is extremely friendly. The location is just beside the river Rhine. I bet it looks lovely in day time.

Highly recommended! Delicious food and very friendly staff. Tastefully decorated restaurant with spacious layout of the tables. Good explanation of the menu and the wish is taken into account if, for example, you are not a fan of coriander. In short, we will definitely come back again soon. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised with cakes when I was serenaded by the team because someone had said when booking that it was for my birthday.

Well, surprisingly nice and delicious food. Very child friendly!! There are many mild curry dishes suitable for children. They were allowed to play wonderfully during some of the time. And got a free ice cream

Delicious food. Super starter (vegetarian platter) and main course the tamarind curry, but a little extra spicy. Tasty drinks topped it off. All in all it wasn't very cheap so very often I won't eat here, but quality was definitely worth it.

Stepped into Tamarinde for the first time. After receiving a friendly welcome and visiting the cloakroom, I was struck by the spacious, attractively decorated interior. We had a table by the window with a view of the Oude Rijn. The entire menu was explained to us because The Indian Kitchen was unknown territory for us. The food was delicious. Starter, main course and desert all equally tasty. We will definitely return to this hospitable place.

Had been this places 2 times and both times we were welcomed with grace. We really enjoyed the ambience, the food, esp., the lamb biriyani was extraordinarily good (Never did we have such a wonderful biriyani after coming to Netherlands). Glad that this Indian restaurant opened in Alphen. Only drawback is the infrastructure to reach the restaurant, there are stairs down the pavement and to enter the restaurant and they are not stroller/wheel chair friendly

Ate here for the 3rd time last night and it was excellent again! Good atmosphere, partly because it was pleasantly busy. Operation is fine. No rush, just time for a chat, joke or advice. A real asset to Alphen!
