Very tasty viennoiserie. The almond croissant is finger-licking good! Very tasty 'Texelse branding' breakfast. Croissant is crispy and moist. Good coffee! Very friendly staff. Relaxed vibe. A complimentary yogurt for our 10-month-old was served with a smile.

Coffee temperature not right, received a new one after 10 minutes… the others had finished their coffee… checking the coffee grounds to see what the cause was…

After two previous pleasant visits, the last of which was almost a year ago, this time it was quite disappointing. The staff came across as rude and restless, talked loudly, and were extensively busy hugging other people, while we had to wait a very long time for our coffee. The cappuccinos arrived with quite a bit of spilled coffee on the saucers, and no sugar or milk was served with the regular coffee. Something small to accompany the coffee, such as a cookie or chocolate, was also missing. For the prices charged here, that comes across as rather meager. The pastries were also disappointing. The chocolate bun was dry and tough, and the carrot cake had hardly any flavor. As far as we are concerned, what is in the display case is absolutely not worth the price. Finally, the toilets were already quite grubby by the end of the morning. A pity, because we had a better impression from our previous visits.

We paid €12 for coffee. We were asked if we wanted it to go or to eat in. When ordering, we indicated that we would be sitting outside at the counter. After 20 minutes, we inquired and were told that the coffee was inside. So, €12 for two now-cold coffees. All because they couldn't tell us. Our visit was a complete disappointment. The coffees themselves looked good, but they tasted awful when cold. It seemed like all the German tourists were treated less kindly.

The first place we stopped after arriving on Texel was an instant hit. We had a lovely spot on the terrace overlooking the market and the old Texelse Courant building. The staff work hard and were extremely friendly and helpful. Real stars! Furthermore, we had delicious coffee and enjoyed lunch. If we are ever on Texel again, we will definitely be back!

A little over a week ago, we cycled all the way from De Koog for breakfast. We ordered filled croissants and eggs Benedict. Unfortunately, there was a live caterpillar on my plate. I immediately signaled to the man behind the counter, who seemed like the owner, that something was wrong. I didn't want other customers to notice. He came closer, saw the caterpillar, took the plate, and offered to prepare a new portion. I declined, as I'm rather sensitive to such things and it had made me feel sick. The man said that everything came fresh from the field and that such things could happen, which was true, because you could really see that the salad was very fresh. That's precisely why you always have to wash organic salad with the utmost care. Okay, that's not really the problem, as such things can always happen. What I found very disappointing and hurtful, however, was that there was no apology and not even a small gesture, like offering complimentary tea. That would have been a small gesture with a big impact: simply offering the customer a glass of hot water with some tea as a small apology for the ruined breakfast. As it was, I didn't feel welcome at all. There wasn't even a friendly goodbye, as if I'd done something wrong. Nevertheless, I'm sure the products there are of very good quality and other people are very satisfied. It's a real shame.

I didn't really appreciate the specialty filter coffee. So I got the Americano after all. Lovely ladies!

Just got from there. Saw at least 8 employees, both in front of and behind the counter. During the last hour, they were busier closing up/cleaning than serving the last customers. Everyone was looking around and just had to wait until someone came by. Been here before, the food and drinks are good, but this is such a shame!

There's no traditional breakfast here, just light snacks that you can eat with a drink. It's more of a bakery. You can peek into the bakery through an outside window and see where bread dough is being prepared.

Had breakfast for 3 days during a weekend away on Texel. Good service, delicious breakfast. It is a very beautiful bakery with good positioning. Diverse selection, but the prices are quite high for the pastries.

It's rare to find bakeries that also serve good specialty coffee. This gem of a place ticks all the boxes. Special mention for the cruffins and pain au chocolat. Be mesmerized by the bakers' skillful work with the dough in the background. Charming and energetic staff!

We have been here for the second time and both times were impressed by the hospitality of all the staff. Good atmosphere and, above all, good food! Keep up the good work.

Beautiful and delicious bakery with breakfast and lunch options. Homemade food and homemade cappuccino. You won't find that in many places on Texel. In the evening, this becomes a restaurant where they also make pinsa in their own stone oven. Not experienced, but sounds very tasty.

Personally, I wasn't entirely satisfied, but I'm not going to give a super low score either. If you're just coming for a drink, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's very expensive for a small glass. They also don't have cola, which I find absurd. Next time, I'll order something from the bakery to see if there's anything tasty there. Also, the chairs outside aren't comfortable at all.

Delicious pastries! Highly recommended. The matcha is fine, but the color reveals that the quality of the matcha is not optimal, and there could have been a bit more matcha in proportion to the oat milk in the drink. The coffee was superb 10/10!

Coffee and bread of exceptionally good quality. You can sit comfortably inside or outside in the sun. It is furnished in a minimalist and modern style, and there is a nice, friendly atmosphere.

I would give zero stars if I could – I've truly never experienced anything like this. As a German, you feel completely unwelcome here. The staff were consistently extremely unfriendly and condescending. Even though we had already finished our coffee and had only been sitting for maybe 15 minutes, we were repeatedly asked to order again in an unpleasant tone. It was made very clear that we should leave – there was nothing subtle about it. Such disrespectful and unprofessional treatment of guests is simply unacceptable. Definitely not recommended. I would give zero stars if I could – I've truly never experienced anything like this. As a German, you feel completely unwelcome here. Perfectly baked sourdough bread from our own bakery and delicious pastries, cheerfully served. The filter coffee, from our own roastery, had a wonderfully fruity flavor profile with a hint of chocolate, and no annoying bitterness, sourness, or other aftertaste. I didn't expect to find coffee on Texel that could compete with the best places in Amsterdam!

The only trendy, cool coffee spot on Texel, if you ask us! Delicious treats to go with your coffee, and the sourdough bread is also delicious! We'll definitely be back when we're back on the island!

Excellent coffee (they even have filter coffee) and plenty of delicious side dishes. The lunch menu looked delicious too. You can also buy bread here and slice it yourself in the machine. Highly recommended!

A lovely café with very fair prices. The breakfast selection is somewhat limited, but the quality is excellent. All the pastries are baked in their own bakery. However, you sometimes need to be lucky to get a seat.

Super cute cafe! The cafe is nicely decorated, very cozy vibes. They have plenty of vegetarian options and also some vegan. (Oat milk available as well) The service team was friendly :) There’s space for families as well. Loads of young children at the time we were there. The cappuccino and egg Benedict (without bacon) was super delicious and very filling - fair price for 12,50€ for the dish. The cookies were divine according to my friend. They also sell sour dough bread and pastries. The sourdough break was very good.

As huge fans of this restaurant and frequent visitors every year, we unfortunately had a bad experience last Saturday. We were patiently waiting to be shown to a table (as agreed with the staff), and were passed over by a couple with children who had just arrived and, without asking or contacting any staff, sat in our designated spot. The employee was also indignant and mentioned this to a colleague and other customers (acquaintances?) in the restaurant. But...nothing was done. So we were the victims of completely antisocial people who sat down without batting an eyelid. We therefore decided to leave. To be fair, the coffee is excellent, and I'm also a big fan of the focaccias! But the service...a real shame. We've come to expect something different from you.

Fantastic bread! And also delicious viennoiseries (the cruffin was generously filled). Friendly staff. We had bread with baba ganoush and pulled pork, super delicious and generous portions. We sat comfortably on a bench by the window. We ended up taking a whole loaf home with us.

The coffee was absolutely delicious, and the café itself is also very cozy for a short break. The cinnamon roll we had was fantastic too! I also appreciate that oat milk is included in the price; that's definitely not a given on Texel.

Flat White was alright. Didn't expect much when it came to cafe in this small town. Don't expect it to be good, then when you have your coffee, you'll be satisfied somewhat? Space is tight so beware, unless it's a nice day out and you lounge outside.

A nice place to be. This time I had to wait a while for someone to answer. Apparently, I was a bit invisible. The coffee is always good, and I also had a delicious cake.

Delicious!! We had this breakfast for €5 per person! The toast was delicious: you could taste how fresh everything was. Highly recommended! Arrive before 9:54 and get a free drink. We also stayed at a nearby B&B and paid just €10 for everything.

I have a memory of how this place use to be. And I keep coming back thinking it will be like that, but it just keeps getting worse. 4 years ago it was 10/10 now it's a rip off.

Right in the center of Den Burg. Small menu, which isn't a problem. It does take a while, though. The coffee is good, and the lunch dishes are equally good.

The cappuccino was 10/10. The chai latte was very poor; it was just milk with a bit of cinnamon. It had no chai flavor at all. The staff was friendly and fast, though.

We went here there times during our holiday. First time lunch and drinks, second time lunch, drinks and dessert. All the food is really good with vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. We need to go back to try the other menu items!

Very nice delicious spot. Fresh bread available. We have ordered eggs, tosti and limonade. Big portions, served very quick even in rush hour. People really doing their best managing amount of tourists. I would only suggest adding less oil in food, it is really heavy to digest:)

I haven't had such a delicious cannenbulle since my trip to Sweden (they call it cinnamon roll here). A stunning pastry to enjoy with a good cup of coffee. It's not cheap, but it's worth the treat.

The go-to place for breakfast in Texel. Bread, focaccia, sandwiches, coffee,... Everything excellent.

We've been coming to Texel for years and have seen the concept evolve from just the market to this location. They've tried many different concepts, starting with an in-house roastery, then baking sourdough bread, and now even a pizza oven and restaurant a few days a week. I understand they probably need to try new things, but I do think it's a shame the focus has shifted away from truly good coffee. Since this year, it seems to no longer be their "own" roasted coffee, but "specialty coffee," but the usual dark-roasted stuff you get everywhere! Otherwise, it's still a fun place to stop by if you're in Den Burg.

Nice vibe, super friendly staff. Not a wide menu, but we both had a delicious lunch and pastry. Mole Eggs doesn't sound like much - delicious and original bowl with a variety of tastes and textures. Plenty of fresh pastries and cakes. Coffee is superb!

We paid a lot for very little. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and drinks. We were initially given a grilled cheese sandwich, but the ham was missing. We asked where the ham was, and the answer was: "We'll serve our grilled cheese sandwich without ham." What? Just put a cheese sandwich on the menu. Incidentally, the cheese was also nowhere to be found, let alone tasty. The coffee was good. We won't be back!

This was our first time here on vacation. The espresso is really good, and the cinnamon rolls are delicious, too. The fresh bread we bought afterward was also delicious. If you love delicious espresso and freshly baked goods, this is the place for you. However, a few classic drinks for kids on the menu would be nice.

We unexpectedly popped in for brunch before heading out for the rest of the day. This Monday, July 28th, is about lunchtime during peak season. It was incredibly busy, but luckily we saw there was still plenty of room at the bar by the window. Fantastic, as always, the cappuccino was delicious, and we tried the filter coffee, which was excellent. The team was incredibly friendly and worked well together. You can tell from the staff's demeanor that they enjoy working together and have a good time. We chose a surprising salad, packed with flavor—not just on top of the lettuce, but the ingredients in the salad were simply top-notch for the taste experience. We had to wait a bit, but that's perfectly fine! No complaints there.

Never again! A lot of hassle with cash at checkout. I could have paid with 50 euros, but they didn't have any change. It's not clearly stated anywhere that cash isn't accepted. I only saw it at the bottom of the menu in tiny print, I think. I've been coming to Texel for years, never had that happen. I'd recommend walking a few meters further to De Smulpot. For a few euros more, they offer a very extensive breakfast. You're always greeted with a smile!

Excellent coffee from their own roastery. The decaf is also fantastic. 👌 Spacious terrace. Even during peak tourist season, the staff are super friendly.

All of our morning excursions began with a delicious cappuccino and croissant at this lovely coffee roastery. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent German. This café is simply a place where you feel at home.

Pretentious place. No cookie with coffee "because we already have so many delicious things." Tastes are debatable, but the selection is very limited, and the argument is ridiculous. No sugar with coffee "because our coffee is so good it doesn't need sugar." You'd feel guilty even asking for sugar. And besides: the coffee was absolutely undrinkable! The double espresso was so sour that even with the requested sugar, it only became worse. What a disgrace...

Lovely dinner. Great service. And loved that there were a few vegan options. Best salad on the island by far.
