The Breakfast Club in Nieuwe Pijp

I was really disappointed with my visit. The avocado served was clearly not fresh—it tasted old and had an unpleasant texture, which is unacceptable for something that’s supposed to be a key ingredient. The pancakes were also a letdown. They were dry and lacked flavor, and overall just didn’t taste well made. For a place that serves breakfast, I expected much better quality. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough to mention. Hopefully the restaurant improves its ingredient freshness and food quality.

The service was so bad that we didn't even get any food. Four staff members waited 15 minutes for tea and black coffee. Then they ruined the tuna melt three times without young cheese and dared to serve cold eggs Benedict. And then there was incomprehension when you complained about it; the staff was clearly not awake, which is a real shame.

We went to the restaurant for brunch, we made a reservation through the app, the service was very friendly, the orders came quickly, the eggs were perfect, the yolks were great, the sandwich was also very tasty, and the pancakes were the perfect ending to the meal. If you're in Amsterdam, don't miss it.

I had the sandwich, which was good but fell apart very quickly. I didn't like the homemade ice tea; it was way too bitter/sour. My friend's scrambled eggs were very dry. The service was very friendly, but it was a Saturday, so it was naturally a bit loud and crowded.

We went here a few weeks ago on a Wednesday afternoon in beautiful weather. We thought it would be a great spot in the sun. And even though it wasn't busy, we had to constantly ask for the staff's attention. We ended up choosing a Rendang sandwich. By far the saltiest and most unpleasant sandwich we'd had in a long time. And all for €15... Unfortunately, no one paid any attention to us, no one asked if we wanted another drink, our empty plates remained until the pigeons were finished, and we had to ask for the bill a total of three times before we got it. Never again.

Enjoyed breakfast here. The service was brilliant - polite and certainly service with a smile. Busy but nothing rushed. Just good food and service.

Really enjoyed my experience at this branch of Breakfast club, the service was quick and attentive and we received our food pretty quickly after ordering. I ordered their chicken waffles, which went well with the sweet waffle and perfectly complemented the savoury taste of the chicken. Their London Breakfast is pretty good with good portion sizes and all the classics that come with an English breakfast. Their watermelon juice was refreshing and not overly sweet and the John juice would be similar to a mocktail version of the piña colada, would recommend. Go give this place a try if you are in this area!

I have eaten at the breakfast club near the Kinkerstraat more often and fortunately never had any problems there and always ate well. When I passed this location I thought let me try it, once and never again. The terrace was not full and inside was empty, yet we waited 30 minutes before we were helped. Why? Yes, we wondered that too. The terrace was full of dirty tables and of course people had to pay before we could order. Out of sheer disappointment I just left. I will stick to the location near the Kinkerstraat!

Great food! We all loved everything we had. The nachos were of a big portion for an appetizer, and they were not super salty, which I appreciated. The kids asked to go back ASAP and try more food. We had the French toast, chicken & waffles, cheese sticks and nachos.

Hit and Miss Thought we would try this place as it didn't look too busy and looked nice outside. I am disappointed as I felt the service was poor by the waitress that took our order. It wasnt terrible but neither good. Why a Miss? I asked if I can order a poached egg on toast as I can see they offer eggs benedict and there was also an option on the bottom of the menu to add a poached egg as a side but advised no as I have to stick to the set menu option - fair enough. I ordered fried eggs on toast, would have been good to offer butter as the bread was very dry. Asked for cold chocolate milk but was served hot chocolate with whipped cream which I didn't order. I ordered an apple pie and thought they would serve it after the fried eggs on toast or with it instead I was served this pie that had been in the fridge for a while straight away before I even got the rest of my order. Hit: My partner ordered the eggs benedict with the Claire juice he really enjoyed it and would recommend it!

I enjoyed a delightful breakfast at this charming spot in Amsterdam! The New York pancakes were fluffy and topped with fresh fruit and bacon (I didn’t want the marshmallows), while the cappuccino was perfectly creamy. The host was welcoming, adding to the cozy atmosphere.

The French toast was very tasty. The homemade ice tea may not have been completely successful, but it was something different from normal ice tea. Sometimes you gamble and you lose, that's life. Service was friendly, but also a bit chaotic.

The Breakfast Club Review The Breakfast Club was a mixed experience. The location is nice and provides a pleasant atmosphere to start the day. The staff were friendly and attentive, which added a positive note to the visit. Unfortunately, the food and drink fell short of expectations. The burger was disappointing, lacking flavor and quality, and the coffee was subpar, leaving much to be desired. Overall, it's okay for the ambiance and service, but the food and drink need significant improvement. Wouldn't rush back.

I was here on a quiet Tuesday morning and thought it was a nice experience. The staff is friendly and we got our food quite quickly. Because I really like the Mexico City at other branches, I wanted to compare the one from here. The beans tasted good, but were a bit on the cold side. The eggs were nicely fried and the quesadilla underneath tasted good! Nicely finished with sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños. The vegan BLT is very good.

Delicious eggs benedict California Style and espresso. Nice outdoor seating area with a small indoor seating space. Plate presentation and food quality was very good.

It is one of the places that you really want to check out, but after going there you never want to come back😂 we had to wait our food for 25 minutes, and only after asking the staff where our food is, it finally arrived…for sure cold. taste of food is just okay, nothing outstanding. Thus I would say it is overpriced place.

We decided to eat here as it was recommended. However, we sat for over 15 minutes while people came in sat next to us and got service. Four girls just standing around helping everyone, While they looked past and ignored us. I wish I'd looked at the reviews before stepping in. Racist people. They make Amsterdam look ugly. Why are they working a service job? When we told them we were leaving and the reason. A normal person would have tried to correct their shortcomings. But no, the young girl just shrugged her shoulders. Disgusting response!!!. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Had a delicious breakfast, had the pancakes and French toast. Very richly topped and with lots of syrup on top (it was just included). The coffee was really bad, hence the two stars. It was way too weak and had almost no taste. In addition, the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. We certainly had someone come to the table more than 4 times with an order that was not for us. They were always looking for the right guests.

Today, Saturday May 18, we came here to have breakfast, we were told that the place was nice. However, my experience was not the same. We came with a friend, and waited for more than 20 minutes for someone to take the order. The staff was taking some other tables but no one was coming towards us, i even told one of the ladies to please take our order and she ignored me and just left. We decided to leave the place, I came to the counter and told the lady that we were leaving because NO ONE came to take our order, she responded that they were under staff, and that was their excuse for a poor service. You should advise your customers that they may wait a little more, not just IGNORE them.

We had a beautiful breakfast, on a special occasion for me😍! We ordered Mexican, New York and London breakfasts and we loved it.

Loved this place!!! People were super friendly. The service was spot on. And the food was great. This is the Eggs Benedict plate. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy mixed with perfectly poached eggs with a fluffy biscuit is what I'm going to call it on the bottom that was perfect for stopping up the Hollandaise sauce and the egg mixture left on the plate. I do wish i could have slowed down and enjoyed the atmosphere, food and people more but i had a plane to catch.

Went for breakfast with some friends last weekend and all the coffees we had (2 cappuccinos and 2 americanos) were awful, very weak and the americanos looked like dirty water with coffee powder on it. When we asked the waitress, she said “where are you girls from? Maybe you are used to stronger coffee because that’s the way our coffee is”. My friend immediately said “where we are from is not relevant. Can you get extra espresso shots for us?” This comment was very unnecessary, profiling and made us all feel uncomfortable. Coffee was still bad

We came to have a snack, we arrive we have to say hello twice because we obviously disturb 3 people at the counter talking. We choose from the menu and there is discussion behind us, they take a while to come and take the order. Well, we are served, the coffee is not good at all by the way, water! Two ladies sit down not far from us and the scene repeats itself! There are 2 employees talking and a tall bald man who is the friend of one of them since they kiss and they sit at the counter for many minutes. The two ladies won't wait! They leave after a few minutes. And the employees laugh about it! Very average service; we clearly understood that the customers were passing by after their discussions and shovel rolling!

Unfortunately not as expected, which is a shame because I always come to BC at WTC, where it is pleasantly busy, chaotic but with an atmosphere. It was cold, chilly and no atmosphere at the comfort square, the place was completely empty. It was the same temperature inside as outside. So cold. The eggs benedict were a big disappointment, the eggs were way too soft and dripped off your plate. The same dish, one with very little bacon, another with a lot? Luckily they were willing to make a new one. The staff was friendly and came later to inquire whether things were better now. Wouldn't recommend the BC with the many better and nicer eateries in De Pijp to anyone. We left to order something else somewhere else.

Wanted a quick breakfast out and my partner recommended this chain to me and i was not disappointed in the slightest. The menu is as expected for an establishment named as it is, so i decided to get the New York dish to combine both sweet and savoury options. I was delighted with the combination of fresh fruit, fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon. Staff were pleasant albeit slightly blunt but it's a matter of perspective really, it was very quiet when we went but seemed to pick up as we were leaving but to me seemed easy enough to get a table from a walk-in.

The food tastes really nasty. How do you manage to make something as simple as an omelet on bread taste bad? The employees are a bit dry and awkward. When dogs come in, they touch them and then quietly continue preparing your lunch (without washing their hands) 🤢

The girl in spectacles was rude. They did not registered the payment and asked us to wait for 5 mins to validate it. Also there was a strand of hair in mexico city breakfast and they did nothing about it. Staff needs to learn hospitality first.

DO NOT GO Worst service ever. They charge €1 extra for syrup for the pancakes even though it is on the menu with syrup. You also order syrup, it only arrives once you have already finished your dry pancakes. Unfortunately there are no very smart people there. Coffee is also weak, it's a shame that you still pay €60 for a small breakfast TO COMPRESS

Nice place but unfortunately I cannot say the same about food. We tried eggs Benedict, both versions with bacon and salmon and I cannot recommend it. The eggs where overcooked and the taste of vinegar was extremely strong (almost impossible to eat) and we found a fishbone in the salmon. I'm a bit disappointed as I tried other breakfast clubs and the experience was really nice.

I was unfortunately quite disappointed that the breakfast club serves such bland breakfast. I hate to leave food on the plate but I just couldn't eat what I got. The plate got served so fast it was obvious the only thing that got cooked last minute were the eggs. The bacon has clearly been cooked hours before, even buffet bacon is less soggy. The mushrooms and cherry tomatoes did not look appetizing at all and the toast didn't seem like it was freshly toasted... Maybe I got unlucky, I'd like to leave the benefit of the doubt, but I will not be coming back for seconds.

Our fav type of breakfast was made poorly. We usually order poached eggs with salmon and sauce on a bun and here it had a super acidic sauce on top of everything that was ruining the entire meal. It tasted like almost pure vinegar. But the eggs were perfectly cooked (soft yolks). We came here few times, complained about this awful sauce a few times, but nothing changed in the recipy, no sauce alternative was offered, so we are not coming back. English breakfast was mediocre at best. Also in warmer months there was a constant problem with many wasps and bees immediately surrounding any coming food on the terrace. People were moving to the interior part because of them. The service was good in the first weeks after opening but after that we had to fetch menus ourselves and approach the bar part for any requests because the staff was not attentive and not present in the room. I edited my initially very positive 5 star review after subsequent few bad visits. Not recommended anymore!

I love food in breakfast club. If you want to have nice lekker breakfast - you go there. They have different locations around the city and always with nice terraces. But I want to write special shot-out to Rosher (excuse my spelling). This man made my day! People like this should work with other people.. The kindness and purity of his heart was breathtaking for me. Please raise him salary or just give him a gift, but just simply take a minute to appreciate colleague like this, because he is on another level of being a nice person. I sincerely appreciate the experience I had today during my brunch. Bravo!

I was hyped to see that Breakfast Club had opened in the Pijp. I'm a regular at their restaurant in Zuidas. I ordered a London (Full English) breakfast. But was disappointed that the toast didn't have butter. The tomatoes were just raw tomatoes (not fried). And my friend eggs were overcooked. Not a typical or proper London English breakfast. Atmosphere was nice and super friendly staff. But it was noisy inside, so next time I'll sit outside.

Food is average. At best. Mostly not. Service was poor but kind and nice. We waited over an hour for a waffle and a sandwich. Even the server said "it's finally here!!" But all this wait for some cold old waffle and a dry sandwich. Come on If you got 2 hours to burn and not much else to do, have a coffee there and go elsewhere

We went there on a weekday afternoon when it was not even busy, first the waitress forgot about our order, then she forgot to bring the bill and when I came in to remind her, I found out that someone else paid the bill already, so they messed up the payment as well. Other gusts were also going inside to order, grab a menu or pay. Hopefully it was one-off situation. Otherwise there are so many nice brunch spots in de Pijp 😉

Nachdem wir gestern ganz ausgezeichnet im Breakfast Club in Oud West gegessen hatten, hatten wir uns auf ein schönes Frühstück in de Pijp gefreut. Leider ist dieses Frenchise qualitativ deutlich hinten an. Die Gerichte sind lieblos angerichtet und qualitativ nicht annähernd so gut wie erwartet. Das kleine Schälchen mit "frischem Obstsalat" ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Auf Nachfrage bei der Kellnerin ließ die Küche ausrichten, die vertrockneten Beeren wären Rosinen. Das Burrata Sandwich hatte wenig Burrata und sehr viel Pesto und alles in allem war es okay, aber leider nicht mehr. In einer Gegend, wo Café an Café ist, suchen wir uns zukünftig lieber ein anderes Frühstückslokal.
