The Coffee Bar in Rotterdam Centrum

Unfortunately, you buy a sharing platter for €12.50, ask beforehand what we could expect, and were told there was more than enough for 2 people, and what do you get? 3 bitterballen, 3 chicken nuggets, 2 mini spring rolls, and 2 mini cheese sticks; that was it, and it really didn't taste good. And when you mention it, "Oh ma'am, normally the plates are a bit smaller, but they were out of stock," as if a smaller plate makes more of it. We sat there from 12 o'clock, first coffee in a glass, 2nd cup in a To-Hot cup with a stick instead of a spoon. Sorry, I don't think that's polite. The parade wasn't over yet and we were already told they were closing. The staff were friendly, but the rest... sorry.

The bread is just a simple slice of bread, quite unimaginative. Not recommended, and there are plenty of alternatives, so just keep walking.

Very nice little place, the smoothies are definitely recommended, they are nice and fresh and nice and cold, they are the best I have ever tasted.

Today I ordered the daily special "Butter Chicken on a Pita Bread" for EUR 8.50 and a Coke Zero. The butter chicken wasn't anything special. It was a bit like an average Surinamese chicken curry sandwich, though I still prefer the chicken curry sandwich. It was edible, but I had been looking forward to a truly authentic butter chicken. The Coke Zero, however, was perfect. Original Coca-Cola with ice and lemon.

The food was unfortunately nothing like the pictures. Furthermore, some standard items from their menu were completely out of stock, even at 11 a.m. When I asked if they could make a dish vegetarian, I only received disapproving looks. Throughout all these problems, I didn't receive a single apology. Unfortunately, it was a very unpleasant experience, especially since the price was unjustified. Feel free to compare my picture with their website…

I ate here last week. I had a club sandwich, which I'm currently very sick of! The place has really deteriorated compared to what it used to be. The only good things were the coffee and the reasonably friendly staff. The restroom was okay, not very clean, but manageable despite the cobwebs.

For starters, it's way too expensive for what you get. I had the club sandwich, which is just white bread with stale chicken salad for 15 (!) euros. And we had a BLT sandwich, without tomato? The two hot drinks were okay, but I definitely wouldn't come here for the food. There was also no atmosphere. No music or anything. A very boring and expensive place.

What a decline... I'm speechless. Cold, half-cup "small" coffee. The staff indicated it was left waiting a bit longer due to the crowds. But there was literally only one other table in the restaurant. Ordering for four people was difficult. I won't be coming back... such a shame... The feeling upon leaving is exactly like the photos... empty... meaningless.

Service a bit slow, and they got our order wrong (honestly who confuses "two large beers" with 2 small alcohol free Heineken zero.

When you order a traditional croquette sandwich, you literally get one wafer-thin slice of bread with one croquette on it. And that's it... I expected a bit more for the price they're asking.

Faded glory. The coffee might still be okay, but the food is no longer recommended. You even order in English these days #sigh. The club sandwich looked and tasted like it had been deep-fried. The tuna salad sandwich was covered in half a liter of white sauce. Everything was dripping everywhere. Inside, the cleared dishes from outside are piled on the tables. Sorry, but I won't be doing this again. It used to be a phenomenon, but now they've completely lost it.

Perfect for a cup of coffee. A good walk for lunch. The carpaccio disappeared behind a thick layer of dressing, the whole club sandwich was put in the oven to melt the cheese, the tomato soup looked awful, the bread was stale, and I didn't receive the potato salad at noon.

I used to love coming here. Business isn't exactly great here, in my opinion. I had to wait a really long time for my burrata sandwich, and it wasn't exactly prepared very well. I also find the prices a bit high, and the service and skill of the staff are also rather lacking. The restroom wasn't stocked with towels, and the air blower wasn't working.

Had lunch at this coffee shop in Rotterdam today, but unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience. We ordered a carpaccio sandwich and a salmon sandwich. The salmon was very tough and practically impossible to eat. The carpaccio sandwich was mostly sauce, which completely drowned out the flavor of the carpaccio itself. For a coffee shop with lunch options, I really expected better quality. Too bad, we won't be back.

Even though the place was almost empty, it took half an hour for our drinks to arrive. Meanwhile, all the old dishes were still on our table and hadn't been cleaned. It all took ages, and I get the feeling the staff had no idea what they were doing. Prioritize, make sure you remove old cups, plates, and glasses immediately, and serve coffee quickly. This is unacceptable. I barely noticed any friendliness; the staff barely spoke.

Ordered at 12 noon, had to wait a very long time, and what I got was... Lentil soup that was simply not good—lukewarm and saltless. Potato salad...consisting of fried potatoes with some lettuce, tomato, and cucumber, no dressing, oil, or salt. I had a vegetable croquette with white bread. I received a broken vegetable croquette on brown, but it was edible. So I paid 15 euros for a vegetable croquette sandwich. The rest was absolutely uneaten, absolutely terrible!

A very nice place to have lunch. The location is very strategic. We ordered 3 flat whites, tuna panini, kip salade, zalm salade, calamares and fries. All the food was delicious and the portions were big and the service was very good. The toilets were also clean. Thank you for your hospitality, Mazik-Ismael and Nur. Thumbs up. We will definitely come back here. Ps: we were very touched when we saw Ismael quickly helping an old lady who had difficulty parking her rollator to sit at the table, we have never seen anything like that in a big city in the Netherlands.

The panini goat cheese and basil was not crispy and certainly not a panini! Was a ciabatta with a soft, soggy bottom and a kind of grilled top with a goat cream cheese spread, green pesto, some tomato and rocket. Felt like it was a warmed bun. Was mainly savoury (salty). Tea was served without a saucer, bag and spoon just put on the table. Coffee tastes good but not hot. Latte macchiato looks like coffee verkeerd. Sanitary facilities are below standard. Looks stale (dusty, stale washbasins). Staff is certainly friendly.

The coffees are really tasty here.

The staff makes you feel at home, a warm welcome. They are happy to have a chat with you. It is a nice place for family, friends or as an individual to enjoy here. The food/drinks taste good. For example, a Chai latte, panini with grilled chicken, muffin (also served warm at my request) made of vegetarian chocolate. You can also enjoy breakfast or a 12-hour break. You can even order a chicken curry sandwich and Saoto soup here. They will soon have a 'Ramadan' theme. You can make a reservation and have a nice dinner from March 1 to March 22, 2025. Also provided a Valentine's theme for this. Worth repeating, cozy and cozy stay here in the heart of Rotterdam.

Tasty sandwiches. Salmon sandwich was richly topped. The Panini was also well received. The burrata sandwich was less richly topped. There were 2 sandwiches, but 1 sandwich had pesto spread on it and there were a few slices of raw ham. Both the pesto and the raw ham could have been a bit more and were on both sandwiches. The burrata was very runny

My family and I dined here tonight. We are from South Africa. What a taste of home. We have the bottomless spareribs special. It was delicious. I will definitely be returning and HUGE RECOMMENDATION AS WELL. At the same time, what great value too. Presentation, taste and ambiance a confident 10+. A big thank you to our waiter/server Alesha, she was absolutely awesome, super friendly, attention to detail and made us feel at home, along with her Colleague Ismail as well. It's staff like this , besides the food that makes me want to return to the restaurant. You guys were awesome. If you looking for a breakfast, lunch or evening dinning out, please make sure to visit this gem.

a lady who worked there was super rude the people after us arrived later they were immediately admitted we were not I looked at the people behind the bar so we could also be admitted and then I heard them say "why is she looking at me like that" we We left because we were not answered and then she said "byee" with a smiling look. This is simply disrespectful and is a shame for the owners of the business because they cannot do anything about this.

Had a delicious cappuccino with a slice of banana bread, delicious. The employees are pleasant and cheerful people.

Spent a whole afternoon during carnival. When the Heineken beer ran out, we had to switch to Duke Jan beer. This was warm and dead beer and apparently cost 5 euros per small beer. They should have just said that. In addition, we were not allowed to go to the toilet even though we were here all day, the reason was because otherwise they would have to clean the toilet... bad tent!

We came here for a glass of wine and a beer. Rose wine was gone. Then ordered white wine. Glass was filled below par, and this for €7. After making a comment, they added something here. I was happy about this. Until I found out that the wine was at room temperature + dirty glasses. We won't be coming here again!!!

Popped down here after a long drive to Rotterdam. It is that we were hungry (12 noon), but very scanty tuna sandwiches with more lettuce and tomato than tuna. Furthermore, the service is not really meaningful and that indirectly contributes to little or no atmosphere.

I came here for the first time, never been before, I thought the staff and atmosphere were very good. Ordered a chicken satay for €16.95. Unfortunately I didn't like it that much, chicken was super hard and dry it seemed like it was left from yesterday and satay sauce looked more like peanut butter than satay sauce.

Came here regularly, nice coffee, tasty sandwiches, had lunch there today with my daughter, 2 iced lattes, not special, but okay, a croquette sandwich, on a soft white bun, nasty, too greasy!! 9 euros!!!!, a croque monsieur, with dirty cheese and cheap dirty ham, was initially too softly toasted, then slightly better, but no party. The toilets were also rancid, the lunch menu was even dirty and sticky! Shame! New owner apparently, who doesn't quite understand it

Unfortunately, things are no longer like they used to be here. Coffee not that good and the food really not good either. The staff is very friendly!

Severely disappointed. Ordered a supposed fresh orange jus, which was sadly just concentrate (should have known because it was only 4 euro). The tuna salad sandwich was the bad tuna salad from the Albert Heijn brand and also had brown parts because it was old. Bread was good, but the total was 10 euro. Service was great and all other food looked homemade. So I would just suggest getting rid of all the stuff that you don't make yourself. Still a want to give 3 out of 10, because the service and people seemed nice. Otherwise i would have given it a zero.

Tuesday afternoon, rainy with strong winds and therefore ideal for a pit stop at luchroom De Koffiebar Rotterdam and an ordered cappuccino, chaudfontaine mineral water and a meringue topping cake.

King's day, so it's very busy everywhere. This place has an empty terrace, but it still took about 40 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Also, I'm not keen on getting boiling coffee in a glass.

Have been regular customers for years, but have had a new owner for a few months and unfortunately we notice this: hygiene toilet (very dirty) and dirty tables that have not been cleaned up, atmosphere: stacked chairs on the terrace, uncomfortable and not beautiful terrace chairs (used to be more stylish) and bubbling music inside (not appropriate for a coffee shop). The presentation of the coffee: just a glass. No saucer, cookie. I asked for a glass of tap water with my coffee (I used to get it as standard): it was now half a super small glass; 1 sip. Of course there are also positive points: employees are friendly, the location remains great and we were helped quickly. But perhaps the above points can help this company to once again radiate the class it had under the previous owner.

Came here often, always good, new owner doesn't have things in order, if in a business with 10 visitors you have not approached a customer for an order after 10 minutes, then catering may not be your thing

Lekkere cappuccino met havermelk en ook de smoothie was goed gemaakt en best flink. Personeel was vriendelijk. Bij de tweede ronde wel lang moeten 'zoeken' voor we konden bestellen maar bij binnenkomst direct een plekje gekregen.
