What a lovely discovery! The place is charming, the food delicious, the drinks excellent, but best of all...the people! The people who were there having a drink made my mother and me feel like part of the town. The waitresses were very friendly, and the owner was truly charming. A fun place, good food, and a great atmosphere. 100% recommended ;)

A cosy pub and restaurant bearing the name of its previous owner, now run by JP, a true petrolhead supporting a superbike team who is a nice, friendly guy. We had good chats over a few rounds.

The best bar I've been to in all of Holland, the only one where I haven't felt cheated. Reasonable prices and large portions. The boss, a very cool guy. He has even served us free shots and drank them with us and explained to us that it is tradition to drink with clients from another country. Maybe it was the excuse to hit himself, but he's a great guy.

Very nice bar with rustic decoration. When I visited there was only a group of cyclists having lunch. The service was fast and friendly. The bathrooms are very large and clean. It is a good option since when I visited Edam there was only one cafe in town which was full of tourists.

Lovely little Cafe with a very rustic atmosphere. The man working behind the bar was nice and so were the local tradesmen that came in and chatted with us. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. If they're open I would definitely recommend grabbing lunch or a drink here.

We can't say much about the food and ambience, as we only had a drink and sat on the terrace. Service was very nice, drinks were good.

Rode into town on a bicycle, came into the Cafe for a quick bite to eat and a coffee, the owner was super friendly and welcoming, let me charge up my electric bike battery. Asked if I wanted to have some Dutch Herring, went out and bought some, brought it back to share and even poured me a shot of Bols Genever! Wow! Where do you get service like that? I am Canadian with a Dutch background, so glad I stopped in to this cafe! Thank you to all the staff! You totally made my day!

Very good coffee at a reasonable price..

Affordable huge portion for lunch. Each under €15. Likely family biz and popular with locals as cars will stop by to collect takeaways. Great service: as Asians, we asked for more dips (beyond mayo) to go with the thick fries and the host gave us 3 bottles (spicy Thai chilli, sweet chilli and other sauce) to help ourselves. Easy walking distance from Edam cheese fair (open every Wed July -Aug)

Vinimos por ocio desde España y pasamos por este bar donde nos tomamos unos cafés y charlamos con el dueño. Muy amable y risueño, nos invitó a unos chupitos y lo pasamos genial! Lo recomiendo 100% Si vuelvo a Edam, les volveré a visitar sin duda!

We sailed our hire boat to edam and moored just by Thomas Cafe....locals were welcoming...bar staff were fantastic...beer was amazing...food was awesome....Jean Paul was the perfect host....we had a great night and can't wait to visit again in the future.

Welcoming host, such a querky place! We had some hot chocolate/coffee/tea before we used the bus station across the road. Particularly enjoyed having gin shots at 11am with our host! Loved sharing my biscuit with their dog Casey and stroking Houdini the cat. Had some brilliant conversation, and was even gifted a box of chocolates as it was my birthday, just a wonderful morning!

Stopping at this place was the highlight of our trip. John Paul (Juan Pablo) is the best!! The atmosphere is incredible, if you ever go to Edam you have to stop and have a beer with him.

Leuk dorps cafe met een leuke sfeer, ook voor feesten catering mogelijk. Bezoek zeker waard en het zit dicht bij de grote weg en diverse fiets routes.

Super fijne plek. Geweldig bediening en op verzoek doen ze ook nog enorm hun best in de keuken. De klant staat hier echt bovenaan. Er hangt een gemoedelijke en fijne sfeer. Wat mij betreft 5 sterren en een AANRADER!
