Jonathan engages with coffee-making from what I interpret as a form of ritual-meditation. I felt like he marked and paced the ambiance. I could sense his presence in the air and it was very grounding.

A very special place for coffee in Utrecht, situated at the beautiful garden of the Rietveld-Schroeder-Huis. This place serves only the best coffee, no matter if you like espresso or iced latte. Definitely a big recommendation, you will experience coffee flavours you've likely never had before!

Jonathan makes amazing pour over coffees. He also remembers me and always makes some small talk in Spanish to help me learn.

Really nice coffee. Barista knows what he’s doing and makes the coffee with care. Pour-over is coffee. Base espresso is good so all other coffees are also yum.

5 stars is not enough to rate this unique and special place. Any time we take a long ride on us but we never get disappointed. With Ukiyo Coffee Jonathan created a true gem of specialty coffee and community. While in most cafès coffee is simplified to the level of fast caffeine consumption, this place is the complete opposite. High level of pour-over coffee meets hospitality and carefulness that creates an artisan experience for the ones willed to take the time to enjoy and appreciate coffee to its fullest dimensions. Whether you enjoy filter coffee, espresso or tea take your time and sit down at this place. You'll find an oasis of tranquility and experience coffee in a way that this careful curated selection deserves. Thanks for all the great coffees so far and many more!

Ordered coffee, paid, waited for 20 minutes watching how the staff was serving other people, who came after, left. After asking why it takes so long - the person at the desk told us that they do not rush. Do not recommend.

Top quality coffee, great energy!

A review is not much for this place at least for me...Ukiyo serves much more than great coffee. It serves a community, it serves culture and it gives everyone a unique experience. It has been 3 years since the first time i visited the place and I am happy to call the owner a close friend of mine. The review though is as real as our friendship. Serving the best coffees from all around the world, a selection curated with only the finest coffees, for all the likings. The cafe (next to Rietveld Schroderhuis) serves all sorts of coffees but if you want an actual treat and a unique experience then visit the bike every Saturday on Janskerkhof bloemenmarkt. The bike is surrounded by flowers and great slow-coffee (pour-overs, filter coffee) or the seasonal specials (Colombian hot chocolate and Cascara Tonic). Well what can I add to this extended review? Just visit it and see for yourself. A 5 out of 5 would be my honest rating.

I visited Ukiyo Coffee cafe in the old garage of the Rietveld Schröder house. I was amazed by the aesthetics and simplicity of the small and cozy space. The barista was kind and calm, which matched the mood. He skill fully made delicious coffee. There was a guest book, some books to read, a chess board and nice music.

A wonderful place to start your morning! The coffee is really nice, full of savor, and comes with great talks, background music for atmosphere, and "gezellig" vibes. And I've never tasted better banana breads than Ukiyo's! They are very fluffy, with chocolate chunks and they're a must! I highly recomment Ukiyo Koffie also because they are sustainable, so you can bring your own cup! They also have fun events on their website, so make sure you check it out!🫖

I love getting coffee with Jonathan! He is always in for a nice chat and has so much knowledge about all the coffee he offers. He also lets you experience new flavors and variety’s of coffee and even thee! A absolute recommendation.

Ik kwam wekelijks naar Jonathan op de markt in Leidsche Rijn, en wat een heerlijke koffie altijd! Vaak ook mooie gesprekken (over Colombiaanse wielrenners bijvoorbeeld!), jammer dat hij daar stopte. Ik hoop snel weer eens langs te kunnen komen.

Ukiyo Koffie is in the backyard of the Rietveld Shroder House in the former garage. It specializes in slow pour over coffees. It was a good resting spot after walking to the house from the center of town and then seeing the house. There was also a selection of pastries as well. We played some chess and then moved to a table with more room once our coffee was ready. The space is tiny but it was calming to sit and admire the Rietveld Shroder house while drinking a nice cup of coffee. The owner was very personable and explained the origins of the coffee to us. He was chatting with a lady from the neighborhood so tourists weren't the only ones who enjoyed the coffee and location.

An added and essential facet to the experience of visiting Rietveld Schroderhuis is a beautiful pour over coffee at Ukiyo. Lucky for us we also had a coffee and the best ever hot chocolate at the flower market the following day. Coffee made with love

Great coffee, although because of a brazilian roastery doing a take over they only had 10 - 12 euro coffees. I took the 12 euro pour over, expecting that it would be at least 300 - 400 ml of coffee, although it was quite dissapointing to only get 150ml of coffee for 12 euro. Price/value/quantity is out of balance.

New favourite spot to score a coffee on saturdays at the Janskerkhof flower market. High quality coffee prepared with a lot of care, knowledge and tranquility by the friendly owner. Will visit the Rietveld Schröderhuis location soon!

I highly recommend Ukiyo Koffie. The owner knows his coffee very well and helps you understand the taste from the special beans. It's a very nice and cosy place where you can start or end your walk with. The coffee always feels like a treat from Ukiyo.

De koffie is heerlijk en je merkt echt dat er aandacht aan zowel het maken van goede en gevarieerde koffie besteed wordt als aan de ervaring van de klant. Zeker een plek waar ik graag terug kom bij een bezoekje aan Utrecht!

Jonathan can be found at Wilhelminapark or at the flower market at Janskerkhof in the centre of Utrecht. I’ve had a cup of tea from him a while ago and, wow, soo good. He really knows his stuff, helps you select the exact drink you want at that moment. Today I had a vegan hot chocolate and it’s the best hot chocolate I’ve had in years. Super creamy, exact the right amount of cocoa and perfectly sweet. And: he didn’t add any sugar, just cocoa, plant milk and a tiny amount of spices. Highly recommended. And he’s a very nice person too!

Everything is actually worthy of your attention when you spot Ukiyo at his pop-up locations: the genius bike, lovely conversations, puzzels, healthy goodies and coffee/tea of course. Also, I have to mention his page on instagram has the greatest content - the kind of stories that makes you want to start your day in the morning. Keep up the good work Jonathan! I'm a fan now.

My new favorite place to get a lazy sunday afternoon coffee (and tea!) in het Wilhelminapark. Also the cookies are awesome. Jonathan has a great taste in coffee, and music. Plus, always a lovely conversation if you feel like it.

Ukiyo Koffie is a unique pop up, If you are in a hurry or want to kick back Ukiyo got your back. It is an experience and a treat to have a coffee made by this guy. Every cups are curated to you due to Johny's service which is on point. I am looking forward to have some delicious Koffie once i am back.

Al sinds september geniet ik zo nu en dan van de koffie, thee en koek die zoal verkocht wordt door Jonathan en zijn mobiele café. Alle producten die Jonathan verkoopt zijn van goede komaf en met liefde bereid, wat iedere keer weer een sensatie aan smaak oplevert! Een smaak die overigens steeds nieuw is, omdat het aanbod in koffie, thee en koek iedere keer veranderd. Echter, de grootste reden dat ik al maanden met alle plezier terugkeer naar Ukiyokoffie zijn de warmte en sfeer. Iedere keer als ik Ukiyokoffie bezoek raak ik in een ontspannen en liefdevolle staat die eigenlijk altijd automatisch gedeeld wordt door de rest. Simpelweg een must-see als je in Utrecht bent!
